In her first year of college at Yale, challenging courses and new friends provide a much-needed distraction for Livvy Holland. Beyond the tears–for the most part– she won’t allow the lingering anger she harbors toward her ex-boyfriend to consume her.

Even after taking steps to conceal her identity, Livvy is still very recognizable and popular among her new classmates. She takes advantage of her situation and accepts dates with multiple guys, trying to piece together an image of ‘her type of guy’ that differs from all the good qualities Jon Scott once possessed.

An unexpected letter arrives on Livvy’s 18th birthday, shifting her focus and forcing her to reevaluate all the relationships in her life. She now knows the identity of her biological father, and struggles to make sense of the news alone. Fortunately, she won’t have to.

Just as Livvy’s life begins to normalize, one of her professors provides her with the creative opportunity of a lifetime. Trusting in the bonds she’s made with everyone she loves, she believes she can have everything she wants and makes the decision that allows her to be true to herself.

She was chosen for a reason. Chosen to be a gifted artist that–with a few strokes of a paintbrush–could touch people emotionally; profoundly. Chosen by her parents so they had a place to share their boundless love and devotion. Chosen by her friend so he could return the encouragement, inspiration and affection she’d shown him for so many years.

Livvy Holland will never again take her position in life for granted. She wears the name with humility and respect. She is Choisie.

Updated with Full Review - ARC Review

This is the last book of the Choisie Series and I love it so much. Lori Otto's writing style is always so beautiful and that's why she is one of my favorite authors. She makes you feel so connected to all her characters and you experience her stories as your own.

Lori L. Otto introduce us to Livvy when she is a little girl in her first series and in Choisie we meet Livvy as a teenage girl. She has loving and protective parents that encourage her to grow as a person every day. She is still a young girl but she has grown up so much in the last years and she is still learning.

Livvy finds herself in a phase of her life when she has to make decisions about her future on her own for the first time and even though she has her loved ones standing by her, the decisions she is making are hers alone. She is going on dates and meeting new people but she is still thinking about Jon. You will find out if they will meet again and get together or if their story is finally over.

It is amazing to experience all these new things with Livvy, collage life, new friends, dates, a new side of her relationship with her parents and living alone away from home. She will meet good and bad people and she will learn how to distinguish between the two. She will also be more careful with the paparazzi, how to deal with them gracefully and take care of her loved ones from them.

I think you will enjoy this book as much as I did. It is beautiful story that allows you to fall in love through her eyes, when she finds that special someone who truly loves her and when they both choose each other. Another thing I love about the book is her parents because they are amazing. They are so caring and always there for her.

I definitely recommend this series. By the time you finish, you will be very happy you started it. It is such a beautiful story about love and life. It is about knowing yourself, trying to be better and being truly happy in all aspects of life.
My RATING for this book is 5 STARS. *****

If you don’t like Young Adult/New Adult books, you should check out her previous series called Emi Lost and Found. It is one of my top favorite series and it is Contemporary Adult Romance. You should check them out and if it sounds like something you would enjoy, you should start with Emi and then continue with Choisie.

*******SPOILERS ALERT*******
*******SPOILERS ALERT*******

If you haven't read it, stop reading this now. These are some of my favorite scenes and they have lots of spoilers. I want to mention them and I don’t want to spoil the story to anyone.

- Livvy with Jack: Her relationship with her parents is in a great moment. She is finally very honest and they treat each other like adults. Her two talks with Jack about her biological father showed how much she loves them and how far she has come with their relationship.
Jack once again shows how amazing he is. He gave Livvy great advice about Brazil and Jon, how she should involve Jon from the beginning and that they should discuss this decision together.

- Livvy with Emi: I love Emi, my favorite character from "Emi Lost and Found Series" and a great scene with her was when she came up to check on Livvy when Jon showed up. She was very understanding and was not making too many questions because she only wanted to make sure Livvy was alright.

- Livvy with Jon: One of my favorite scenes with him was when he came back. He was there for her when she needed someone the most. They finally talked and I absolutely love the fact that he took his time on each theme for his apology.

Another moment was the scene before the New Year's Party was beautiful. His words made me love him even more.

The love scenes were very special too. They showed their love and passion. A great development in that aspect of their relationship with no more sneaking around and finally acting like adults about it.

The proposal!!!! Wow! ♥ I wasn't specting that. I had a feeling about Brazil when he was talking to those men and when he seemed to be hiding something but he was happy about it. It was so sweet and romantic and it was funny that everyone was listening behind the door. I love everything he said and that it would not be so soon.

- Livvy with Matty: Matty is such a funny and entertaining character. He can destressed an awkward situation and make you laugh or just make laugh at any time. He is a great uncle, I am glad he is happy with someone again and that he is very close to Livvy.
Two scenes I love with him are when he almost ruin Livvy's surprise because he was very eager about it and when Livvy went to his apartament to ask for a drink after telling Jon about Brazil, he was hilarious.

- About her biological dad, I was ok with Livvy's decision because she seemed content with what she found out. She might want to know more in the future, who knows, but she thinks what she knows is enough. I choose to believe her biological parents were in love but for whatever reason we don’t know, they got separated. The carving makes me think there is a romantic but bittersweet story there and despite the fact that they didn’t stay together, her father still keeps a good memory of her mother.

- Brazil was a very relaxing time for them. The four of them were enjoying the place and giving each other the space they needed. I thought it was nice to see them having a good time and being happy.

- The epilogue by Jack is a perfect example of Lori's beautiful writing. You can really appreciate everything on it and you get a glimpse into their future which all her readers would be wondering if we did not get one. I am so happy we could see Livvy and Jon older and in a very different phase in their lives. I would have never guessed they would go back to Brazil and stay there for a couple of years. I love that they accomplished so much in their careers and they could enjoy life together before getting married and starting a family. The surprise of the wedding, the baby and going back to New York was so sweet. I absolutely love everything about the epilogue. ♥

Wow… the last book of the Choisie series.

This is the moment I’m always dreading when it comes to reading. You know… the moment you realize that yeah, you’ll be able to read that book or series as many times as you want but you’ll never get to read it for the first time again. *sigh* I know I’m going to miss Livvy and Jon and Emi and Trey and Jack. I’ll come back to them though, I’m sure of that. But for now… I’m sad it’s over!

Lori gave me the opportunity to read Livvy and I am so, so grateful for it. I hope she knows how much this series means to me <3 all of her books are heartwarming and beautiful and they’ve always gotten to me in a way others haven’t. They’re special and each of them has its own way of being one of a kind.

Livvy is the fourth (and last) book of the Choisie series. As you may remember, Jon and Liv had broken up by the end of book two and in Dear Jon, we got to see Jon’s struggle to find his way back to the life he dreamt and wanted. The previous books are all about the obstacles life usually throws at you to see how much you’re willing to do to be with the ones you love and be who you want to be. This one though, is all about resolutions, promises, life and love. Livvy is all about making amends, fixing what needed to be fixed, and working hard to get what she wants out of life. This book was about Livvy making some decisions that would get her to where she wanted to be, with the people she wanted to be with.

I don’t know if it’s just me or if you guys share my thoughts on this.. but I’ve always felt like this series is so much more than just a romance novel. At the end of the day, I’ve always thought these books are about one girl growing up and making mistakes and learning from them and becoming the beautiful and wonderful person that she is now. Love is a huge part of the story, don’t get me wrong, but I’ve never felt it’s the main theme. And that’s one of the reasons I love this series as much as I do. It’s refreshing to read something that not only entertains you but also allows you to grow with the characters.

Livvy and Jon highlight the best parts of each other, no matter if they’re a thousand miles or just a few inches apart, as long as they’re together. They make each other a better person and that just makes me happy.

Olivia Sophia Holland. It’s amazing how much she’s learned since book one. It feels like I read Contessa so long ago, because so much has happened since then… In Contessa, she was the girl who wanted to do everything on her own, she didn’t need anyone other than Jon so she pushed everyone who cared about her away. In Olivia, we met a more mature teenager, but she still had some growing up to do. She understood things differently and thought things twice before acting on, but still… some mistakes had to be made. In Dear Jon… well, we didn’t actually see her, but it’s impossible not to notice that she was changing. Olivia wasn’t that little girl anymore. She was accepting her mistakes and not only that, but taking her responsibilities. She was hurting, but she took that and transformed it into something beautiful. In this book, she’s the woman we were all hoping she would be. She’s not a kid anymore. She’s not selfish, she’s not spoiled, she’s the kind of girl that thinks before she acts and not only that, but she thinks about others and their feelings before she does anything that might hurt them, and that’s amazing. I’ve seen her grow, I’ve seen her change and I’ve seen her love, and I’m happy to say that I’m proud :).

One of the things I love most in this book are Livvy and Jack’s conversations. Either via a phone call or in person… each of them holds a special place in my heart. I love how their relationship has turned out to be.

“Daddy, I would be lost without you. Absolutely lost. And no other father, nor career path, no distance, no boyfriends would ever make up for what I’d lost if I hurt you.”
Jon. Jon Augustus Scott. I am deeply in love with you! I love how honest and respectful and considerate and smart he is. I love that he’s one of those guys that will accept when he made a mistake and do whatever to fix it. I love how he’s able to recognize true beauty and happiness and cling to it with all he has. He’s one of my favorite book boyfriends and I’m so sad I have to let him go, even if it’s just for now. Through the books, he’s made some mistakes but now he’s willing to do whatever it takes to fix them and redeem himself in Livvy’s eyes… and he couldn’t have gotten there in a more perfect time than when he arrived back into Livvy’s life. I’m so grateful about that. I wasn’t expecting him to come this early but when he did… I just thought it was the perfect moment. I love this guy to death. He knows exactly what to say and when to say it. He’s learned, over time, that he needs to help Livvy make her own decisions and do what she needs to do for herself. He’s always seen Livvy as this beautiful and intelligent girl, but now… I feel like now he sees her like his equal, not that he ever saw her as inferior to him, but… now he sees a beautiful young woman, decided to fight for what she wants.

“You’re the moon and the sun, Olivia. I’ve seen both in you, and right now, I can’t tell which one I love more.
You’re my universe. You encompass me.
My heaven and my earth.
My Olivia.
My life.”
And Jack.

Lori, thank you so much for that last chapter. I’ve told you a thousand times by now that this one was my favorite. Thank you for making me cry, yet again. You’ve managed to do the impossible with him. I feel an amazing sense of respect and admiration towards Jack. He’s the kind of dad every girl wants and should have. Not because he’s wealthy, but because he does everything he can to make his family happy, to protect them and to make sure they have everything. I love him (yes, I’m saying that publicly), but it’s impossible not to and that last chapter just broke my heart and put it back together.

This book was the perfect ending to this amazing story. I absolutely adored everything about it. The love, the respect, the admiration every character felt towards the other was just perfect. Even thought this is the last book of this series, I’m sure it won’t be the last book I read by Lori Otto. This woman is a genius. She creates wonderful characters and her stories always, always, will take a huge space in your heart because you can’t help but fall in love with every single character.

“Always. Everywhere.”

Gratifying. Satisfying. I don’t think I could have dreamed of a better ending for Livvy Holland’s story. Livvy is like the cherry on top of an ice cream sundae. It was perfect in all aspects. And when I sit back and think about it, I realize the entire series was crafted to perfection by author Lori Otto.

The Choisie series is unusual in that it begins with the young adult novel, Contessa, transitions to mature young adult with Olivia, and Dear Jon, and then leaps into the new adult genre with Livvy. It’s a spinoff of the Emi Lost & Found series – a coming of age story about Olivia Sophia Holland, the adopted daughter of Jackson Holland and his wife, Emi. Although family relationships are important to this story, the Choisie series is truly about Livvy growing up and falling in love.

Throughout the Choisie series, Livvy experiences ups and downs in her relationship with her parents, especially with her father. Livvy is bright, artistic, and a dreamer. Her father wants to hold on to his little princess. His Contessa. Livvy is extremely willful. She wants to spread her wings, think for herself, and be more independent. Jacks is a protective father. He wants some semblance of control over her decisions. But at the age of sixteen, Livvy is falling deeply in love with Jon Scott. She wants to make adult decisions. She wants to be in an adult relationship with Jon. Do you remember what it felt like to fall in love?

I have remained steadfast in my support of the Choisie series because I absolutely adore Lori Otto’s writing. But it’s more than her impeccable writing style. It’s her gift of developing believable characters and capturing the interest of readers who become fully invested in the story. It’s her ability to write beautiful and fulfilling endings for her characters. Characters are fully developed over the course of the series. Relationships are mended. Differences are resolved. Hopes are fulfilled, but you should expect to be surprised. Does Livvy get her happily ever after with Jon? I’m not going to spoil it. Experience Livvy for yourself. Discover why this novel and series are counted among my favorites! Congratulations to author Lori Otto on this superb 6-star novel!

Melanie's Review:

When I finish reading a good book, it doesn’t just stop at the last page. I am a contemplative reader and I always find myself sitting with my Kindle/paperback in hand, not only processing the words I’ve read but also wholeheartedly gathering all of the emotions that have cursed through me during the entire experience. This is both a blessing and curse especially as a blogger because I cannot get myself to move forward and pick up another book. As an avid reader, you can imagine what that does to your ever growing TBR list. But I believe that each of these books that have held you captive deserve to be longed for long after their story has ended and if you’re like me, you sift through all those thoughts and feelings and try to come up with that elusive word or catch phrase that are able to somehow define the true meaning of the book for you. In Lori Otto’s Livvy, this came fascinatingly easy because there was no denying the fact that Livvy was…. Perfection personified. The final book in the Choisie series couldn’t have been written more perfectly than this. Everything came full circle and told in such a lovely and easy flowing way.

I came into this book with massive trepidation; fearful of how Lori had decided to take their story and expecting nothing more than the best because well… It’s Lori Otto! I want to tell you all that my expectations were far from just met. They were exceeded tenfold and what truly blew me away was that this final book was written in such a way I didn’t imagine Lori would take. The best way I could possibly describe how Livvy made me feel would be like laying out on a hammock during a clear and cool, summer day with a breathtaking view of aquamarine waters straight ahead. The serenity and the goodness that filled my heart so confounding that the pessimist in me was screaming, “when will the other shoe drop?!” Looking back now, I’m pretty pissed at myself because in a way I inhibited myself from fully letting go and just enjoying every single moment free from theatrics and over dramatization.

In Livvy, I fell in love with Olivia and John all over again. I fell so deeply and felt so complete. With a simplistic approach, Lori somehow still managed to extract such intensified emotions from me. My smiles were bigger, my sighs deeper and longer, and even that bit of heartache Lori squeezes into this book I painfully felt. Having invested so much of myself into this series, Livvy brought me to my knees; seeing my beloved characters grow into such intelligent, loving, and solid people was really like seeing my own kid grow up in front of my eyes. So this was seriously an emotional end for me.

There will NEVER be another Olivia Sophia Holland nor will there ever be a Jonathan Augustus Scott. These characters that Lori had developed in that unbelievable mind of hers are so unlike any other characters I’ve encountered. They felt so real yet entirely intangible. I am still in disbelief that their story has come full circle and my heart is so heavy having to accept that.

And though being a contemplative reader may have its downs, losing speed on getting through my TBR list, I have also found it to be my friend especially at times of book grief like I’m experiencing after Livvy because I am getting so much more time with them and with Lori’s ingenuous words than someone who may have already moved on to other characters. Livvy is so WORTH the hours and the days I’ve spent holding on to Olivia and Jon and the entire Holland clan. The Choisie series isn’t one to take lightly; the books that makeup this series infiltrate your life and they honestly become a part of it.

I thank you, Lori Otto for sharing these characters and their timeless story with readers like me. You cannot imagine what your vibrant and colorful words have done for me and for so many others. Your ability to catapult us into these pages is magical. Your books like Livvy, are also, “My constant. My perpetuity.”

Lori Otto gifted us with a magnificent, beautiful conclusion to the Choisie series. It was brilliantly perfect. I have gotten to know this family and love them. I have cried, laughed, smiled, sighed, cried some more, tears of heart ache and tears of happiness. I have seen each of the characters grow, mature, love them all along the way. I will certainly miss them. I have a special place in my heart for this family and this will forever be one of my favorite series.

UPDATE
First off if you are looking for a review that gives away all the good stuff move along because you won't find that here. Do not, I repeat DO NOT look for spoilers it will really ruin the experience.

AHHHHHHH I can finally breathe.

Ms. Lori Otto you have inserted yourself onto my "automatic 1-click" list and my "Favorite authors of all time" list. I am actually quite ashamed that I stumbled upon Emi Lost & Found two years after it was published. But in a way I'm glad I found it and devoured it when I did because I would have been dying to get my hands on Livvy's story. Without going into detail and giving anything away, I died and went to heaven with this book. Livvy was exactly what I was waiting for and so much more. It was the perfect ending to a beautiful story.

I am sorry it has taken me so long to post my review unfortunately life and school gets in the way :(

ANYWAY, as you can see from my snippet above I loved Livvy and will always love Lori Otto. As many of her fans know Ms. Otto really gives herself over to her fans. She has created such an amazing bond with us and we really get to see her personal struggles throughout every day life and the writing process through her Facebook page. I really admire Ms. Otto for being who she is and not being afraid to show her readers who she is as a person and as a writer so thank you!.

Now onto the good stuff LOL Livvy.

The book was everything I had hoped and then some. The Contessa series was just as epic in my opinion as the Emi series. It was raw and captivating and so very REAL and honestly, though I'm a sucker for contemporary adult romance novels with ya know "those" kind of scenes, this series took me to the stars and back because of its innocence and sincerity.

Naturally, as most great writers when they wrap up a series it can either go 2 ways. The first, by leaving it slightly open-ended for the reader to use their imagination or Two, by giving the reader all of the answers they crave. Ms. Otto is the queen of endings! In this final book we see so much growth as individuals between Livvy and John and even Jack. The story begins with Livvy on a date with a guy from Yale and the entire time as i was reading I was screaming in my head "Livvy your meant to be with John, ya dope!!!! and John stop being an idiot go get your woman!" and honestly if the progression of the book had been rushed in any way such as her taking him back right a way etc I wouldn't have liked it as much as I did. The pace is what made it feel real because in life its the journey that matters. Love takes its time no matter how much we want to get to the good parts and bypass the painful parts. Throughout the story I truly FELT like I was healing alongside Livvy and thats what made me want to jump up and down when the unforgettable scenes came along because they did not feel forced.

As I write this review now having read the book a little less then two months ago I still get the same giddy feeling I got when I was reading it for the first time. Thank you so much Lori for giving me an ARC you made my world because you let me into livvy's.

So I will leave you with this. If you want to Please Please Please read this series and anything that Ms. Otto writes because she truly is an amazing writer. You will not be disappointed!

Quotes from one of my favorite scenes:

“Slowly, silently, now the moon
Walks the night in her silver shoon;
This way, and that, she peers, and sees
Silver fruit upon silver trees...”

“And then one day, a vision releases each of those words from disarray in your subconscious to perfect, methodical lucidity, like you were saving them up to mean something in one, solitary moment."

“You’re the moon and the sun, Olivia. I’ve seen both in you, and right now, I can’t tell which one I love more.”

As I always am after reading anything written by Lori Otto, I am at a loss for words on how to convey just how much I loved this book and how many 'feels' I had while reading it. I am an avid reader who reads, on average, a couple books a week - sometimes more. Everything I have read by this amazing author have been the most eloquently written and profound books that I have experienced in my expansive reading history. I have NEVER read one that hasn't brought a tear to my eye and put a smile on my face.

From page one, I was pulled right back into this beautiful world that Lori has created. For those of you that read a lot of series, you know that sometimes it's easy to forget where the previous books have left off and even what the story line was. I'm guilty of that - and have, on more than one occasion, had to go back and do a re-read before I can start a new one when it comes out. Not with these. This series is one that has stayed with me from the day I started it and there is never a need to go back and reference anything - they are embedded in my heart and mind.

This books starts right where 'Dear Jon' ended - so if you haven't read the books that came before this one - GO DO THAT NOW before you read any further. Livvy has moved away from Manhattan and started attending Yale and is still nursing her broken heart. She has matured so much and I loved how so was able to easily express her feelings, which has been a real struggle for her in the past.......

"I'm shattered, though. I may look like a whole person, but I don't feel like it today. I'm shorn, fragments of who I used to be."

It'a wonderful how we have seen Livvy grow over the course of this series. The person that was once an immature and somewhat naive young lady has turned into a very responsible and mature woman. Another aspect of this book that I LOVED was the humor from Jack Holland, who is one of my favorite characters EVER!

"We're coming. We're fine. Jon's gonna kill anything that comes at us with a crowbar and an empty duffel bag, apparently"

And then there were the pull-at-my-heartstrings moments, which Lori is such a master at writing....

"I love you, Daddy," I cry. "I love you too, Livvy. God how I love you. Congratulations, my little Contessa."

The only thing left to say is go and read this book, but be sure to block off the time to read it because once you start, you won't be able to put it down! I know that it will leave you full of so many emotions and so much love for these characters. In my opinion, the author could not have ended this series any better. I am very sad to see it come to an end, but I'm so grateful to have experienced it. I know we will see these characters again in her future works. I, for one, am on pins and needles waiting to see what she has for us next. <3

Livvy is book #4 in the Choisie series, which is a spin-off of Lori Otto's Lost and Found series. I do recommend that you read the Lost and Found series as it provides such a foundation for Olivia's story. As just a little background, the Choisie series begins as a young adult novel Contessa. But the series makes the transition from young adult to new adult. I believe Lori Otto has done an amazing job on this series and the transition.

I simply adored this story and can't give it anything less than 5 stars! The ending brought about some happy tears. I love Lori Otto's writing. It's smart and engaging. This story and it's characters have had a hold on me for a long time. The story is mature and passionate. It shows Jon & Livvy's growth as young adults and in their relationship. There is still that feeling of young love, but now there's heat and intensity to go with it. This story is mature, graceful and just simply beautiful. The conversation is intelligent and flows like silk - almost poetic. It took me a little longer to read Livvy, but not due to lack of interest, but my need to enjoy every written word.

Although Livvy is about her and Jon's romantic love story, it's also so much about the love between Livvy and her father Jack. The scenes between them are so heartwarming and precious. Lori Otto has an amazing ability to write well written characters with such depth that you just have to love. Even after all this time knowing Jack, this story showcases his further growth as a father and his deep love and adoration for his daughter. Although his little girl is now an adult, he continues to provide guidance, love and protection. Jack and Emi are the type of loving supportive parents we can all hope for.

The story of Olivia and Jon is probably one of the sweetest love stories I've read. It began when they were young and grew into something anyone would envy. I describe Lori Otto's writing as smart. There is such great storytelling that transports you into the world and characters she creates.

***** 5 Stars! *****

"I don't think I knew how to support you without carrying you, but I've figured it out. I will stand next to you, Liv. I'll encourage you. I'll listen. I will be here for you. I regret that I wasn't."

This is the fourth and final book of the Choisie series and it was like a decadant dessert after a satisfying meal. It was the perfect finish to an amazing journey with these characters who I feel like I know on a personal, intimate level. They feel like family and I'll miss them very much.

This is what Lori Otto excels at- character development. There is no detail left out because she knows these characters inside and out. They seem to jump off the page, and I almost expect to look at the tabloids in the grocery store and see Livvy and Jon splashed on the front cover. Lori has breathed life into her characters in a way that many authors struggle to do. She does it so effortlessly, so easily and I really admire her for that.

It's amazing to see how much Olivia has grown in this series. I remember reading Contessa and immediately disliking her. She was naive, spoiled, and a brat to be honest. She was a typical teenaged girl, who just happened to grow up in a prominent family and at the time, she didn't appreciate any of it. Thankfully throughout the course of this series, she began to change and evolve into a beautiful, amazing woman who knows who she is and where she belongs.

"You are my soul mate, by my definition: the person without whom my soul will not rest."

Then there's Jon, who I've liked from the very beginning, but I was unsure if he was the right fit for Olivia. With each book in the series, I grew to love him. Dear Jon gave us amazing insight into his character, letting us get to know him on a more person level which I really enjoyed. Then in Livvy, he proved to be the man I always knew he could be.

This book was everything I hoped for and more. Lori did an excellent job of wrapping up the series with a big giant red bow on top. I'm sad to see this series end, but look forward to reading what Lori has in store next. I hope that one day she will revisit these characters, but in the mean time, I'll keep them close to my heart.

"Look at us now. Forgiveness happened. Empathy. A new understanding. We grew. As individuals we grew."

Livvy is the emotional and heartwarming conclusion to the Choisie Series.

Have you ever felt so strongly about something that you were left unable to articulate? That is how I feel about these characters and this story. My words won’t do justice to describe the amount of love I carry in my heart for this series. It would be like trying to count the stars in the sky – simply immeasurable.

Reflecting upon the journey brings a smile to my face.

Livvy has become a confident and mature young woman, a far cry from the sometimes petulant and bratty teenager we saw early on in this series. While there is still a gaping hole in her heart left in Jon’s absence, she makes a concerted effort to move forward with her life and seek happiness once again. Her time at Yale provides her a much needed distraction from missing Jon and an opportunity to spread her wings. Livvy has endured, accomplished and overcome so much in the years that have spanned between Contessa and Livvy. I watched a young girl become a woman and I feel a sense of pride in a motherly sort of way. But I also watched a friend grow up, become an accomplished artist, fall in love and pave her own way.

Jon is the same confident young man and wise beyond his years. He is still madly in love with Livvy, but recognizes that she needs to find herself. So Jon keeps his distance to give Livvy her space, using school and work to distract him from the longing to be with the one person who both inspires and challenges him. While I was frustrated with Jon at times throughout the journey, I know his heart was always in the right place. He has matured into a charming man that is driven to be successful in both life and love.

As I sit here days after finishing Livvy, my heart is full and yet I am sad for the journey to end. This book is the perfect conclusion to Livvy and Jon’s love story and the chance to experience first love again has been full of memorable moments and extraordinary characters. I will cherish my time with Livvy and Jon and am looking forward to where Lori takes us next.

Livvy is the last book of the 4 book series in the Choisie series. Reading this book for me was very bittersweet to know that this is the end. But what happens in the book is so satisfying to see the change in Livvy from the first book to this one. She went from being a sheltered, impulsive, and at times a bratty teen to a flourishing, successful young woman who forges her own path in society and makes a name for herself.
Livvy also has a special bond with her father Jack and to see their dynamics together and evolve was beautiful. Jack has had to accept that his little girl is an adult and can make her own decisions and trust in the fact that he raised her right and be able to let her take the lead on things he has the urge to control. I love that Livvy does appreciate and acknowledge her need for his help and wisdom on certain things.
At the end of Dear Jon (book 3) we also had Livvy coming to terms with the fact that she is strong with or without her first and only love Jon since their breakup and summer apart. They say you never forget your first love and in Livvy, we will learn if Jon remains in the picture or if being apart for that whole summer and now at different colleges will really be the end for them. She has a couple of new prospects but will the draw of her first love let her be able to find a way to possibly move on? Or will it make her even more sure that she does not want to be without Jon.
While I am sad this is the end, I am happy for the life Livvy has paved for herself and proud of the woman she has become. I know whatever obstacles may come to her, she will handle it with true passion, determination, and kindness. For that I am okay to leave her be and know she is more than okay.

5+++++!!!!

I believe this will forever go down as one of my favorite books of all time. Leaving characters behind after 4 books is always tough as a reader...but keeping readers engaged in the story and still being able to surprise them after 4 books has to be even harder for an author. So I must say...Impossible job MORE THAN WELL DONE Lori L. Otto!!

I will be honest and let you know that I met Lori's street team at a book signing a few years ago. I clicked with them immediately even though I hadn't yet read Lori's first series 'Emi Lost & Found'. It took me months to finish that trilogy b/c the first book tore me to shreds and then by the end of book 2 I just didn't want the series to end, so I prolonged my book 3 experience. But the team assured me that the spin off series would be like a salve to the open wounds after finishing! A bigger understatement may have never been uttered before...

I am so emotionally invested in this Choisie series, I'm sure I'll be thinking about these characters for a long time to come. I won't give anything away here...it would be a travesty to do so for future readers...but I will say, I DARE you to keep a dry eye when you get to 93%!!

I am a lucky lucky girl to have met these women who rallied around this impressive author and I look forward to reading each and every word she publishes!!! Looking forward to MORE!!! Crossroads next...

What a ride Lori Otto has taken us on! From sweet sixteen to first love, to heartache and breakups, we have seen Livvy through her journey to becoming a woman. And I am so damn proud of her! We've seen Livvy make some really bad decisions, and say some really hurtful things. We've seen how heartbreak can fuel her creativity. We've seen a teenager rebelling against her restraints, for good and bad. We've seen Livvy devastated. But all of this has, together with her loving family, and her wonderful boyfriend, helped make Livvy into the kind of woman we could all wish to be, and the kind of woman we would be proud to have as our daughter.

I truly think that this book is the pinnacle of Lori Otto's writing. And that's taking nothing away from Lori's previous books. They are in no way "less". But Livvy IS "more". I can't quite put my finger on it. Nothing in Livvy surpasses the emotion of Time Stands Still. There is nothing more beautiful than the words written in Dear Jon. Maybe it's just that we've been on this journey with Livvy and it means so much to get to the end with her. Lori's writing IS beautiful and the story told in Livvy IS emotional. Maybe it's just that everything that has made Lori's previous books so delicious to read is wrapped up with a pretty pink bow in Livvy. I don't know.

What I DO know is that if you have been on this journey with Livvy? This final installment will be everything you hoped for, and then some.

Does this series really have to be over? What a beautiful reunion and growth of a wonderful loving couple and family. So wise beyond their years. There is angst from the grave and true love in communication. I really have a serious book hangover and just hope Lori Otto is writing more about the extended family of Jon and Livvy. Best HEA ever. So good I immediately read this book twice.

Wow I can't begin to express how I feel about this book, this series, this author. Livvy is a strong girl full of life & Jon is the perfect boy next door. This story is about love, family values, respect, & following your dreams. It's the most emotional story I've read & just like all of this authors books, it'll stay with you forever.

5 Heart Melting Stars!!!
"I didn't know what a soul was capable of until I met you. Mine is a magnet that leads me back to you, whether we're thousands of miles apart... or merely a single breath away."

The PERFECT ending to the Choisie Series!!! My heart couldn't be happier, sitting here with an unremovable smile on my face and my heart melted into a mushy mess of utter joy....the best feeling EVER!!!!
Thank you Lori L Otto, for another unforgettable series that is now on my all time favorite list right next to Emi Lost & Found where it belongs.....Jack & Emi (&Nate), Livvy & Jon will be in my heart FOREVER!!!!!!

What a beautiful ending to this story and I am simply in awe of Lori’s writing more so than ever. I cannot express how much I enjoyed this series and I have laughed and cried throughout this book, but it has been well worth the tears.

Livvy picks up where Dear Jon left off where we find Livvy away at Yale and Jon is at Columbia. Livvy is determined to make it on her own and try to start a new life, but her heart has always been with Jon. Even though she tries to date, she doesn’t seem to feel connected with anyone. You can really feel her love for Jon is ever-present in her daily life and that just really broke my heart for her.

“You are my home. You are my heart. You are my love.” – Livvy

When Livvy finds herself reaching out to Jon, it’s certainly like nothing she had expected. I must say that I think I was even nervous for her as well because I was so anxious to know what would happen next.

As Livvy comes home to celebrate her birthday, she is taken aback when a piece of her past threatens to upset her future. This surprise is one I certainly wasn’t expecting but I love how well it flowed into the story so beautifully. When Jon does reach out to her and finds her in a volatile state, they both seem to feel their connection is still there.

“Thank you for being the only woman in the world to me. My existence would be desolate and abject without you. It’s a life I wouldn’t enjoy.” – Jon

I love seeing how they reacquaint themselves with each other and how mature they seem in that they want to try to get past their issues. You can feel their strengths and weaknesses as they both try to decide if they can get past their insecurities to be able to move on. I must say that their love is amazing and so beautiful and this book really pulled at my heart in so many ways.

As the book progresses, I found myself being practically consumed by their story. I was so intrigued and determined to finish as quickly as possible; I just could not put it down.

As Jon and Livvy’s story continues, circumstances occur that may threaten their future, testing whether they have what they need to move forward.

“I may be your partner, but you are my soul mate, by my definition: the person without whom my soul will not rest.” – Jon

This book will definitely make you believe in young love and will pull you into the lives of these characters. You find out things aren’t as easy as they may seem and there were many times I was nervous by not knowing what to expect and the tears were flowing.

“You’re my universe. You encompass me. My heaven and my earth. My Olivia. My life.” – Jon

As the book reaches the end, we get Jack’s pov and how he feels at seeing his Contessa grow up. I’ve always loved Jack from the moment I met him and Emi. Through his eyes, you sense what a brilliant husband and father he truly is. As much as I’ve always liked Jon, I do think my own heart lies with Jack. He’s the kind of husband and father that everyone should have in their life. Even when he knows he is not the number one person in Livvy’s life any more, and knows he must let her go face her future, he handles it with such grace that left me tearing up because his pov is just breathtaking.

Ever since the first book of Lori’s I read, the depth of her writing always amazes me. Her books are so well written, with such detail embroidered into each book. Lori’s books may be quite lengthy, but they are the type that keep me interested from front to back, and this one was no exception. There is no lagging in her writing that I have found in other books I’ve read before, and they are so beautifully written. I am anxiously waiting to see what she will come up with next. Livvy was really more than a 5 star read for me!

The journey to Livvy has been a reading experience like no other for me. We first met Olivia Holland in Never Look Back, part of the Emi: Lost and Found Series. And I have had the privilege of watching her grow through her own series of books, with Livvy as the final chapter. With each book, I am continually in full blown awe of Lori Otto's talent for writing yet another unforgettable book.

This beautifully written and sweeping storyline had me from the very start. Getting back into Livvy's head, watching her overcome the continual heartache of losing the love of her life, growing as an artist and a person, continuing to love her father like we all do (Jack Holland will always be amazing to me)and finding a new start in her second home, Nate's former loft, was everything and more. The author has a gift of describing exactly what the character is experiencing without ever being tedious. The reader feels as if they are right there in that moment. Lori Otto pays attention to detail and paints a picture for our minds to absorb, that is as vibrant as what Livvy creates in her studio.

Livvy has now become her own person. She is not just Jack's daughter or Jon Scott's former girlfriend. She is navigating in that crazy college world, all the while trying to not only get back on track with her painting but maintain her independence in such a strong family. But it is her family ties that continue to keep her grounded and is what sets this series apart from so many others. We get to see the entire Holland crew. They are there when Livvy needs them, they provide plenty of comedy relief, particularly in the form of Matty, the uncle we all want in our lives. He is the true anchor for Livvy in this book and his outlook on life and his unwavering support of his niece made me smile. Watching Jack try and let go of his little girl, his Contessa, continues to bring on the tears. The love he has for Livvy is so pure and so true. He knows he has to let go but having Emi by his side makes the separation much easier to take.

And then there's Jon. With the ending of Dear Jon still in my thoughts, I had hoped that some way, Livvy and Jon would find each other again. Without giving anything away I will just say this: their connection will always be strong. The tether that connects these two hearts is unwavering. The painting scene as I like to call it, broke me. That chapter contains some of Lori Otto's finest writing.

The additional characters of Katrina, Rachelle, Tim and even Finn add the perfect amount of pleasant distraction for a story that is so multi-faceted. Lori Otto can weave several storylines at once, all with a common thread and manages to tie it all up effortlessly. The last chapter brings the entire storyline, from the very beginnings of Emi: Lost and Found to now, full circle. I finished that last sentence with tears running down my face, with a huge smile managing to break through.

Livvy is the perfect way to complete this years long adventure. It has been an absolute pleasure reading every single word of not only this book but it's predecessors as well. Reading one of Lori Otto's books is like coming home to me. My heart is held captive and I never want to give it back.

All 4 books in the Choisie series take us on a trip through one girl's seemingly perfect life that is filled with beautiful flaws. The writing is exquisite and unforgettable. The words as fluid as Livvy's brushstrokes. I will never forget these characters and have high hopes that we will hear from them again.

A 5+ star read that is in a class by itself.

NOPE. F-ck this unrealistic bullsh-t.
That's really it for me. I'm not surprised it went in the direction it has, but I'd held out hope it would be different, and it wasn't. And it is severely disappointing for it.

To sum up my biggest annoyance/problem is that, IMO, Livvy never truly stands on her own two feet independent of Jon. Even during the breakup and after starting school, she spends her time mourning him. And while that's normal for 1st love heartbreak I would have appreciated sigh.

I also know I'll be in the minority, but I like my realistic fiction to be a little more reflective or real life, especially as it relates to love and relationships of young people. I don't often like stories where 15yo find their soul mates unless it's in fantasy or believable circumstances for why it's so if it must be contemporary, bc that makes a hell of a lot more sense than .

It boils down to the fact that

I still loved the Emi Lost and Found series a lot, but I've has issues...a lot of issues, with this series since the beginning with Contessa, the first book of the 4. I also resent reading more explicit intimacy between Jon and Livvy, teens, than I ever got the chance to read with Emmy and Jackson, to grown up adults that often (what I considered) "faded to black" for their love scenes.

Maybe that's also what has made this series hard to get through for me: feeling like a parent too privy to their child's love life. Since I became a part of Emmy and Jack through their own love story and road to parenthood, reading about their daughter falling in love and doing things w/her boyfriend felt uncomfortable most of the time. It wasn't the same feeling as when I read other YA books that are essentially romance at heart. I never feel like an adult reading those, where as here, I identify more as an adult and would be parent bc I read it's from how Emmy and Jack experienced it, not matter if it wasn't their POV.

This simply wasn't for me, and it may be for a lot of you. I didn't like it, and can't say I'd recommend it, but I know there are those who will like it. I do recommend the author's other series, though. I'll be sticking to her adult works from now on, thought I wouldn't mind a Jackson Holland III story.

This review may contain unmarked spoilers for previous books in the series.

Livvy was the perfect conclusion to the Choisie series. From first love to heartbreak and breakup to everlasting love and happiness, it's been the ride of a lifetime for Livvy and Jon.

As evident in my other reviews, I haven't always been fans of Livvy or Jon. And I certainly wasn't a fan of Livvy *and* Jon together. It wasn't so much that I just didn't want them to work out and live happily ever after. It was always that I didn't think they were good for one another. In many ways, I felt like instead of Jon helping Livvy to grow and mature, he was overbearing and smothering her. And I believe that Livvy relied too heavily on Jon and wasn't the independent girl her parents raised her to be. So instead of lifting each other up, they were keeping each other down. I never thought any of it was intentional, but it was merely a product of young teenage love. However, the big turning point in all of it, was the summer they spent away from one another in Dear Jon. While one of his reasons for staying away from Livvy was to hurt her (and it did), I also believe Jon was acutely aware of the situation in a way that Livvy wasn't yet. I believe he was able to see the ways he was preventing her from maturing and growing as well as the ways she relied on him that might not have been very healthy. The summer provided, in my opinion, what they truly needed in order for their relationship to grow and flourish as adults. Livvy gained her independence and learned that while she had this relationship and love for Jon, she didn't need it to survive. Jon gained an understanding that space and separation were essential for a healthy and happy relationship.

In Livvy, we see these realizations come light. We see, fully, how Livvy and Jon have grown separately as well as together. In this book, I truly believe that we're seeing the happy and healthy relationship that these two really deserve and have been working towards throughout the entire series. And while I may not have always been a fan of Livvy and Jon, at the end of this series, I can absolutely say I love them and wish them nothing but the best! It's been wonderful to see them grow and mature. (And good lord, I sound so old right now!) Oh, and I don't want to forget, I absolutely love that the last chapter was told from a different point of view than the rest of the book (no spoilers!). It was the cherry on top of a perfect book.

The Choisie series is the spin-off of the Emi Lost and Found series. Starting with the young adult book Contessa, it moves to mature young adult with Olivia and Dear Jon, and ends with new adult Livvy. While you can start with this series, I find (as do others and is recommended) that it's best to start with the Emi Lost and Found series. You'll get the full enjoyment out of the Choisie series that way and, besides, Emi Lost and Found is a fantastic series all on its own.

This book surpassed all the expectations that I had in the best of the ways possible.
Livvy is the final book of the Choisie Series. ( If you guys have not read the first three books then WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? Get on them before reading Livvy, so you can enjoy this beautiful love story developed in a set of series.) This series are a spinoff The Emi Lost and Found Series, another awesome series btw!

For me this book is PERFECTION, I can't find anither word to describe it. It contains the perfect ending for one of the most beautiful love story.
Reading this book I felt a rush of mixed feelings, as expected (DUH it’s a Lori Otto’s book!). Fear, excitement, relief, joy, happiness and sadness because I realize it is the LAST book of the series and it’s kinda bittersweet.

At first I had to admit that I was worry about how things ended at Dear Jon and I was fearful, I was holding back and reading with reserves but then I let go and allow myself to fully experience this awesome story and I was reward in the most beautiful way; Lori didn't let me down.
I've known Livvy since she was a pretty creative toddler watch her grow to a brat teen and watch her become an accomplished grown up woman, and I could not be more happier for and proud of her.

In Livvy, you'll see and independent capable woman who needs nothing from no one to define her or to achieve what she wants in life.
She will experience some situations that will shake her world, but she will overcome them with maturity and the support of her loved ones.
Lori have such a way of writing that will submerge you to the story, will make you fall in love with the characters and you'll never want to let them go; at least that's how she make me feel with her stories and this was no exception.
One of the best part of the story is seen her relationship with Jack, watch their bond become stronger has truly filled my heart.
To me, seeing Livvy grow, have been like watching a little sister grow and become a beautiful, accomplished grown up woman, and for that I`m grateful and couldn't be more proud of her. ❤
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you Lori for your stories, for always making me smile and making me tear up, sometimes the ugly cry but also for the happy tears. Thank you for your stories that makes me scape to the wonderful world of words.
You guys JUST KNOW THAT YOU WON'T REGRET THIS BOOK, IN FACT THE WHOLE SERIES!

***Possible Spoilers!!***

I could have finished this book of the heart much sooner than I did, but wanted to savor it as long as I could.

I. loved. it.

What a perfect ending to this beautiful story. (Chapter 7 was epic, btw!)

The best way for me to convey my feelings for the book/characters/story is to highlight favorite passages (with the feelings the passage evoked)...

"He may have said I looked celestial, but I could be making that up entirely." (I am smiling)

"Mom will be apprehensive. Mom will miss you. Mom will still support you." (I am nodding and smiling)

"It could be the adrenaline again...or it could just be Jon." (I am sighing)

"And thank you for choosing me. Thank you for giving me this life. It's incredible, and I know I'm the luckiest girl on the planet." (I am tearing up)

And here's where it really started to hit home...
I was traveling and staying at a hotel when I was nearing the end of the book. I must tell you - I embarrassed myself in the hotel gym... I was reading while on the elliptical machine and lost it sobbing during the wedding scenes. I'm not kidding. So beautifully written. I have long felt the series was as much Livvy and Jack's story, as it was Livvy and Jon's. It evoked such emotion and memories of my own wedding over 31 years ago.

"...Dad watches me, waiting for me to come to him." "'I love you, Daddy,' I cry." "'I love you, Livvy. God, how I love you. Congratulations, my little Contessa." (I am seriously sobbing)

"She finally turns around, her smile even brighter than the white dress she's wearing." (I am sure you could hear me sobbing now)

"'...you're the most exquisite sight I've seen since my own bride met me at the end of an aisle... and began her life with me.'" (still sobbing)

"'Daddy,' she coughs out, more tears coming from both of us." (I am smiling and crying)

"'I've never done this with my daughter. My heart and soul... you overestimate me, Contessa.'" (I am smiling through the tears)

Just beautifully written, Lori. Thank you so much for sharing Emi and Jacks and Livvy and Jon and Matty and ... Well. Thank you.

I love, love, loved it!

Wow! After I finished Livvy and realized the Choisie Series finally came to a close, I felt the need to start reading from the very beginning of Emi, Jacks and Nate’s story. Each one of Lori’s books has such depth and emotion that you can’t do anything but become attached and involved in each one of the characters’ lives and in the story. You truly feel like you know each of the characters and can empathize with every emotion and experience that is felt. Lori does a fantastic job developing each of her characters and showing the reader how they have grown from one book to another!

Livvy really provides a great journey to the sophisticate, articulate, lady Livvy has become. I enjoyed how strong and independent Livvy is in this book, while still depending on those she loved for support and guidance. Her relationship with Jon has developed into a strong, nurturing relationship, while continuing to have a wonderful support system of her parents and Matty.

When I started Livvy, I couldn’t decide if I wanted to sit and read all night or make the story last as long as possible!! When I arrived at the last chapter, I was so sad realizing that I was at the end, but so grateful to Lori for providing such a wonderful connection throughout each and every book in this series (and Emi Lost & Found series). Lori creates characters you can relate to and aspire to be (Emi and Jacks). The story is relatable and provides a connection to the characters and story (many other stories miss this).

Livvy is truly a perfect end to the series and provides beautiful closure (although you always want more)!! Lori took the story full circle and didn’t miss a beat. She let us in to each stage of Olivia and Jon’s lives and allowed us to feel the story! Thank you Lori!! I can’t wait to see what you are working on next!!

There is one undeniable truth...Lori L Otto KNOWS how to write a love story. She doesn't write 'romance novels', but books about people. I've read all of Lori's books and each time, it's like catching up with old friends I haven't seen in a while. There is a part of me that refuses to believe these people don't really exist in New York City and the next time I visit, I won't be able to have lunch with Emi or visit Jon on the Columbia campus with Livvy.

If you haven't read the rest of Lori's books yet, please do so because it will allow you to more fully appreciate Livvy when you read it.

Olivia Holland is now a freshman at Yale and living away from her family for the first time. Art enthusiasts are becoming more interested in her art work and wondering who exactly "Olivia Choisie" really is.

She is experiencing college dating, after having split from her long-time boyfriend Jon Scott. Unfortunately for the men she dates, the bar has been set high as she continues to compare all of them to Jon.

On her 18th birthday, she learns the identity of her biological father. Should she meet him? How would it affect her parents - especially Jack, the ONLY man she considers her father?

To say more would give away too much but trust me - Lori L. Otto has done it again. As I have with her other books, I was reading late into the night.

If you have read her other books, this is NOT to be missed...a lovely conclusion to the Choisie series.

If you HAVEN'T read any of her books, WHAT are you waiting for? You are in for a treat!

Can I have the option of giving this 10 stars?! I am absolutely 110% happy with how this series ended. In my opinion it couldn't have ended any differently than her and Jon getting married and having a baby together. While some readers may think it's impossible for such young kids to find love like that I am living breathing proof it's possible. I met my now husband when we were 17 years old, just 3 months out of high school and in July we will be married for 10 years and together for 15. So this story sat very heavy in my heart. It was innocent, pure and proof that there is soulmates. I have never been so touched by characters or writing before I was introduced to Lori's books. Every single one of them sticks with me for many reasons and I pray daily that she has more spin-offs from both the Emi series and the Choisie series. All I need is just for her to keep writing! I won't ever find another author who impacted me the way she has! Top notch and absolutely beautiful story telling! Keep it up Lori I love you!!

I'm a sucker for daddy-daughter relationships. I think a father's love for his daughter is one of the most precious kinds of love. And having a wonderful father is one of the greatest blessings a girl can ever have.

I love how Jacks was still very protective of Livvy but he also gave her the room she needed to grow. There were a lot of touching moments in the book that really showed how great a father Jacks really is. And I also liked the Jacks and Jon moments.

Jon and Livvy both grew so much in this book and I love how everything fell into place for them. I also love how Jon really proved himself not only to Livvy but to Jacks as well.

The epilogue in Jacks's point of view was the perfect ending. The surprise and his reaction to it were what really got to me and I was teary-eyed all throughout.

To me, this was a Jacks-Livvy story as much as it was a Jon-Livvy story.

Lori L. Otto is one amazing writer and I look forward to more of her work.

Lori did it again!

I was honored to receive an advanced copy of Livvy from Lori, who has always been generous with her readers.

Lori did a fantastic job of bringing her characters full circle in this conclusion to the Choisie Series.

No longer is Olivia the naïve and sometimes confused teenager we saw in Contessa and Olivia. She's learned how to negotiate her way through adolescence with the pressure of Jack and Jon, who often times have her pulled in opposite directions.

If you enjoyed the Emi Lost and Found Series and want to see whether Jon and Livvy get their happy ever after, I highly recommend you read Livvy.

I wish I could mark this book 10+ Stars. Actually this whole series is over 10 stars. I tried so hard to take my time with this book because it is the last of this series, but I couldn't put this book down. When I did put it down I couldn't wait to read more. You literally fall in love with these characters and you swear they are real and they become a huge part of your life. Reading this whole series you get to know these characters and the ending was perfect!!!!!!!!!! Lori L. Otto is an amazing writer. I am looking forward to reading her next books and seeing what journey she will take us on.
