She thought the worst was behind her—until the nightmare followed her home. Alice has spent years keeping her past locked away, building a quiet life in a town where nobody asks questions. But when a string of unsettling events begins to unravel the fragile peace she’s built, everything she thought she knew about her life, her friends, and herself begins to shift. A missing boyfriend. A cryptic note. A symbol that keeps reappearing—one that seems to know her better than she knows herself. As the world around her starts to crack, Alice is forced to confront the darkness creeping in from all sides. Every answer leads to more questions, and the truth is buried deeper than she ever imagined. In this gripping psychological thriller, secrets don’t stay buried—and survival depends on knowing who to trust. Even if that person might be herself.
I don’t normally reach for thrillers. I’m more of a sci-fi and historical fiction guy. But this book hooked me fast. Alice is a character you can’t help but feel for, and the story just keeps twisting the knife and all the best ways.
The tension builds, the plot keeps shifting gears, and just when you think you’ve got it figured out, nope. The ending is brutal, and the best possible way. If you like mind, bending twist and stories that mess with your head, give this one a shot.
This took me a minute to get into, but after the first chapter or so I was hooked! the entire story keeps you guessing and trying to figure out what's really happening. The characters really developed throughout the story and everything really comes together.
I'm dying for book two. I want to know what happened to Matt, I want to know if Alice got revenge, and most of all I want to see Matt's dad pay for everything.
Solid 4.5 stars!

Relatable main character- check mystery and suspense - check twists and turns that keep you guessing - check I read this book within 6 hours it kept me on the edge of my seat and that ending.....
I was recommended to read this book by a friend and I am so glad I did. This reminds me of the show Pretty Little Liars and that was one of my favorite shows growing up. It has short chapters which is another thing I love because it helped me fly through the book in no time. It kept me interested and intrigued the entire time. I love her writing style because a lot of things she wrote reminded me of myself in so many ways. I give it 5 stars all day. It also makes me feel like I am reading a Freida McFadden book which is one of my favorite authors. I can't wait for the second book and I will be anticipating it and waiting as patiently as I can. I will continue sharing this book to my mystery/thriller/crime readers.
I needed a break from fantasy and romance and all things nasty sex porn on paper so I grabbed this quick read that was sent to us by one of our members. I believe it was a friend or coworker of her that wrote this book. If you are in to psychological thrillers, this one is right up your alley. I felt so bad for Alice and wanted to physically jump into this book. The FMC was a little too relatable and had me questioning who was writing a book about my life. The twists are turns were epic and all around intense. I love the structure of each chapter and the fact that once it sucked you in it did not release it’s hold until the end. If you are looking for a fast paced mind fk suspense type book, this one is definitely for you.
The was my words as I finished the book. Wasn't expecting that there's going to be a book 2 but man oh man did this book leave me hooked. I guessed close the begining on who was behind it all, but I did NOT expect what followed. Normally once they figure out who did what it wraps up into a nice beat little bow. This however did not. I will IMPATIENTLY await book 2. Because now... I need it.
Review: Something About Alice by Devan Kelsey ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5)
I loved this book! It was eerie in all the right ways—just the perfect amount of creepy to keep me on edge. Word of advice: don’t start this one in the middle of the night unless you’re ready to stay up reading and looking over your shoulder!
The story pulled me in completely, but it left so many questions unanswered. It really feels like there needs to be a second book. So much was left untold, and I need more closure! Given that this is the author’s debut, I’m hoping this is just the beginning of something bigger.
Highly recommend if you love atmospheric thrillers with a touch of mystery and suspense.
Edge of your seat thrill ride. Just the right amount of twist. Written in a way that is both intelligent and understandable. Found myself reading into the wee hours of the night. Look forward to many more stories from Devan Kelsey.
This book was great. It keeps you engaged and wanting to know what happens next. Only negative is that is needs more editing. Otherwise, a solid 5 stars.
This book brought me out of a terrible reading slump! I didn’t want to put the book down until I finished it. It keeps you thinking and so twisty. Don’t sleep on this one!
