A jilted bride. A wrecked goalie. A tropical vacation that changes everything.
Lexi Campbell wasn’t supposed to spend her honeymoon alone, but after getting left at the altar, she’s determined to enjoy the trip anyway. A little sun, a lot of cocktails, and a vacation fling will help her move on. When she spots a gorgeous guy at the bar, she’s interested—until she mistakenly assumes he’s there with the broody hockey player sitting next to him.
Josh Wylder just wants to clear his head after a brutal season, but when Lexi asks for his help catching another man’s attention, he plays along. After all, it’s a distraction and just harmless fun. Until it isn’t.
One unexpected kiss turns fake flirting into something real. But with Lexi still sheltering a broken heart and Josh uncertain about his future, neither is ready for what happens next.
For fans of fake dating, opposites attract, and swoony heroes who actually like to dance, Sunsets, Stick Saves, and a Honeymoon is a heartwarming romance with plenty of spice … and, of course, a guaranteed HEA.

3.5 – 4 stars Sunsets, Stick Saves, and a Honeymoon is the engaging first book in G.K. Brady’s captivating new series, Love in Destiny. It promises an entertaining read filled with humour and witty banter, making me laugh at times and cringe at others. Wow, this was not your typical enemies to lovers type story! Lexi & Josh meet under curcumstances that go beyond them. Their hearts are both broken in differing ways. She is working on getting over the sting of a breakup on the eve of her wedding to a man who confessed that he never loved her. He is frustrated with the NHL team he has played for, not renewing his contract after an injury. He's annoyed & takes it out on the "clumsy, self absorbed" redhead. He was a jerk & he knows it. Now he has the chance to apologize & move on, but Lexi's interest in Neil, a slimy womanizer puts him on high alert & brings out his caveman, protective side. However, as the story moves forward, we see a much softer side of Josh who is attentive, caring & solid. With Lexi, we see someone who was quite beat down by her past & had little faith in herself anymore. With Josh's attention, we see her literally come to life again! She still embarasses easily, but there is a hidden woman beneath & she is bold & daring & I'm here for it! Watching them speed through a friendship, bordering on more. it was lovely to watch them spend time with each other & grow. It was beautiful to watch Josh encourage her to embrace her sexuality & boy does she! These two burn up the sheets & a few other places in the seven days they have together! This story was spicy, sweet & a whole lot sexy! Enjoy!
This is such a brilliant holiday romance read and also so much more. Lexi and Josh meet on the transport to their hotel in Florida and they don't like each other. She's on her honeymoon on her own as her fiance broke up with her the day before the wedding and he should be with his brother but he got ill. It isn't long before they are getting to know each other better and it turns out that they are perfect together, but is a week together enough. I absolutely loved them together and Josh brings out the best in her but what happens when the week is over? Loved the ending. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
A great start to G K Brady’s new series! A bridal magazine writer who is now jobless, fiancé less, who has decided to go on her honeymoon by herself. She’s determined to get her mojo and self esteem rebuilt so she can rebuild her life! Two guys catch her eye immediately. One turns out to chase every woman he comes in contact with, while the other one is funny, handsome, and has some serious muscles! He turns out to be a NHL goalie who doesn’t have a contract. So that’s one note thing they gave in common! A fun lighthearted vacation romance is what they agree on. Great book! G K Brady always delivers!
Lexi Campbell was a bridal magazine copywriter until she got fired for an article she wrote. Even worse, she's taking the honeymoon trip by herself after her fiance broke it off telling her he never loved her and since she paid for it and it's nonrefundable, she might as well use it.
Josh Wylder was a goalie for the Philadelphia Forge NH team until they didn't renew his contract and he's out of a job with no prospects. He was supposed to go with his brother on this trip but the brother got sick so he's on his own.
Lexi hadn't been impressed with Josh so far but things changed when he saved her from a creep at the hotel bar. The more time they spent with each other the closer they got and feelings happened but they are only there for a week. They both have decisions to make as for their future. But does it include each other?
when Lexi’s Fiance leaves her the night of her rehearsal dinner. she decides to go on her honeymoon alone where her friend tells he she should have a fling to get over her ex.
She meets Josh she asks him to introduce him to his friend without realizing that the two don't know eachother but things don't go as they plan.
A vacation fling? I loved this. Josh and Lexi’s story is full of laugh out loud banter, spicy steam, humour and and heart. It’s engaging, entertaining and so easy to read. The characters are cute and realistic and drew me in effortlessly. The resort provides sun, fun, action and adventure that lead to sweetness, swoons and romance. A new “must read”.
This book was just so good. I have read pretty much every book by GK and this one is one of her best. It’s certainly her steamiest that’s for sure. Right from their first interaction, I knew I was going to love Josh & Lexi’s story. They just seemed to grate on each other and were adamant that there was no attraction for either of them. Oh how that changed…. But reading them go from a holiday romance to developing real feelings, well it was everything I love to read in my romance novels. But the icing on the cake so to speak was how well they worked together to find their future. Both happy to make sacrifices that really were easy decisions just so they could be together. Great storytelling once again from GK and I look forward to whatever she releases next.
ARC review. G.K. Brady’s book Sunsets, Stick Saves, and a Honeymoon is the first book in the Love in Destiny series, a joint endeavor by multiple authors. The storyline is titillating as as Lexi(no clue) talks the hot hockey player into helping her try to reel in her rebound, vacation fling. Of course nothing is as clear cut or easy as it sounds. The results are unexpected, hot, and a lot of laughs.
Another great read by G. K. Brady! This is the first book in A Love In Destiny Romance series. You’ve got a bride who’s been stood up, a hockey goalie that seems to have lost his pizzazz and a tropical getaway where they cross paths with alcohol involved. What could go wrong?! Spicy, fun and exciting is what you’ll get out of this book.
Sunsets, Stick Saves, & a Honeymoon is a vacation romance with unexpected surprises. This is Lexi and Josh’s story where they met unexpectedly at a hotel in Destiny, a small beach town. I love how they got to know each other and spent the rest of their trip together. They both wanted an escape, and came back with more than they were hoping for. I really enjoyed this cute romance and can’t wait to read the others.
I voluntarily leave an honest review of this gifted copy
I have to say that this is one of my favourite reads of this year. Josh and Lexi’s story is an entertaining read that will keep you reading until the end. Josh and Lexi are both dealing with different issues. When they first meet it does not go so very well. They grow on each other! I loved the story line, and the characters were fabulous. Their story is fun, will make laugh and at times VERY steamy! Perfect book to curl up with after a long day of work. Highly recommend. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This book is the first in the Love in Destiny Romance Series, written by collaboration of authors. Readers are introduced to the fun and sun of the town of Destiny, where days at the beach are hot and the nights are hotter by G.K.Brady. We meet Lexi, FMC, who isn't in a good place, she's jobless, jilted and reassessing her life in the nonrefundable honeymoon suite at the Sapphire hotel. Josh, MMC, happens to be at the same hotel, looking to relax in between seasons as a goalie and reconsider his career options. Alcohol, women and no schedule is what he's looking forward to. When Josh and Lexi meet up again at the hotel bar, they agree to work together to help Lexi find a hotel fling to help her move on from her ex. Neil, the man Lexi has her sights on, isn't interested. Josh then suggests they fake a relationship so that Neil does become interested and sees Lexi as desirable. As it happens, Josh and Lexi's time together is fun and they enjoy talking and getting to know one another. They both find each other attractive and the slow burn begins. A day at the beach is suggested, but Josh can't stop the x rated thoughts he's having from the way Lexi looks in her bikini. One kiss ignites the rest of their stay in Destiny. Even though Lexi and Josh have spent every moment together for only a week, between the hot sex and the excursions around town, they find that they have deep feelings for one another and decide to take a chance at a relationship. This book was surprisingly spicy and really hot. Josh is the type of man a woman needs in her life to bring out her confidence and make her feel sexy and have fun while doing it.
This is the first book in the Love in Destiny Romance series and each one will be written by a different author. If this is anything to go by, I’ll definitely be sticking around for the rest.
I really enjoyed this one. Both main characters are dealing with their own struggles, and what starts as something casual slowly builds into a full-blown, swoony love story. The way they’re introduced compared to who they become by the end shows some really solid character growth, which I loved.
The plot was engaging, the steam was on point, and I honestly just wanted to keep reading, but real life got in the way, HAHA!
This was my first read by G.K. Brady, but definitely not my last. Big thanks for letting me ARC read this!
Sunsets, Stick Saves, and a Honeymoon (Love in Destiny #1) by G.K. Brady
5 out of 5 stars
This is the first book I’ve read by the author. I absolutely loved this book. It’s straight to the point and doesn’t leave you second guessing. Lexi and Josh are people I could see in real life and this happening to them. This is the first book in the Love in Destiny Series, although the Series can be read as a standalone series.
Lexi has already made many mistakes. Thinking she would be on her honeymoon with her husband, instead she’s by herself. She holds up the line exiting the bus only to be called out on it. She breaks her heel so she’s wobbling and it isn’t going her way. When she gets to the hotel and checks in she calls her friend. Going to the bar may be the best thing like her friend told her. She sees the man who she calls a smartass. She tells him exactly that before saying: “Oh, sorry. And no, I wasn’t thinking about you until now when I thought it would be polite to exchange names. I’m Lexi Campbell.”
Josh wasn’t looking for anything. Or at least that is what he tells himself. When Lexi makes her way over with the intention of finding out more information on a guy he just met he doesn't know what to make of his feelings. Instead he suggests something she can’t refuse. He asks her to dinner, but she says no. He tells her: “What? No way. I don’t think I could eat knowing you’re sitting alone in your room while Neil and I are enjoying a meal surrounded by waving palm trees and tiki torches.”
A soul searching, looking to find oneself when your world is turned upside down. On a vacation of sorts, you meet someone, can you trust? They share stories, learn from each other, open up to each other. Realize you are your own person, don't need someone else to make you who you are.
What a sweet and sexy story - two lost souls looking to find themselves. What they found was something even better… they bring out the best in each other. The story was complete with the requisite cad (Neil) who made Josh shine that much more. Looking forward to more in this series.
The first book of the Love in Destiny series and wow I absolutely loved it and was a fast read! I loved Lexi and Josh's meet-cute relationship. This book felt like I was on vacation with them and what a great way to start the series. Can't wait to continue reading these stories!
Lexi was supposed to be on honeymoon with her would be husband but he left her at the altar and the hotel was kind enough to extend the booking with a year and then her bestie was supposed to go with but is now pregnant so she goes on her own and I just admit I admire her but I could go on a holiday like that where I sip cocktails all day and read but I think “wanton woman “ has other ideas 😉😂
Lexi had me in stitches from the get go especially when she lost a heel of her shoe , she’s unbalanced and falls and colourful shirt guy helps her up , well tries , instead she gets to gets to her feet “ with the grace of an elephant” 😂😂😂😂😂I literally snorted on my coffee!
Anyhoo Josh looks like a paint shop omitted on him with his colourful shirt but when you know he was wearing it because of his mum and how he feels about her my heart just melted and he won a spot in my heart , this guy is a keeper 🥰
So Lexi asks Josh to help her catch the eye of another guy and he agrees what harm can a little distraction be !?
The moment the lip locks things change , both are unsure of their future plans and Lexi is still licking her wounds a little but let me tell you they’re perfect for each other I kept screaming at them 😂🥰
One of those reads that just suck you in you in and would actually make a good movie 😉
Absolutely loved this book that is one of 5 books about a small town and couples who fall in love. Both characters in this book that I received as an Arc are having life issues that weigh heavily on them and both end up at a resort in Florida. Josh came over as a surly arrogant male but omg how quickly he accelerated to one of the best book boyfriends. And we get to see Mac, sigh, for a short while. Lexi seemed ditsy to start with and again liked her character development. Read this book in one sitting whilst in the hairdressers and had the best time ever enjoying this story. Would have liked to see them a year into the future. Great read and highly recommend.
I loved this book because it had good flow, the characters didn’t have an insta love and ended up realizing they wanted to be together after being around each other but no forced proximity. There was no big drama, no third act break ups. It has a happily ever after. It’s a great book to relax and enjoy. I’m a mood reader and I love to find these kind of books for days where I need to get away from drama.
Who wouldn't love to go sit on a beach for a little R & R? For Lexi Campbell it went from being a couples vacation to going solo after being left at the alter. She wasn't going to waste this opportunity and decided to try and enjoy the trip. Lexi feels that a fling will help her and spots a guy that looks like he will be a good time. She mistakenly assumes that he is there with another guy, Josh Wylder. In a effort to get the mysterious strangers attention she recruits Josh's help. Josh himself is at the beach to get some much needed R & R after a brutal hockey season. He goes along with Lexi's request to get another man's attention as it is a distraction. It's harmless and there are no strings attached. What started out as fake quickly turns into something much more real after an unexpected kiss. Where do they go from here?
Lexi and Josh both arrive at a beautiful beach resort for a vacation that is not exactly as they planned. Lexi thought she would be on her honeymoon, but months later she takes the trip solo when her BFF cannot come with her. Josh thought his brother would be with him as he took some time off before another NHL season, but he is currently without a team and his brother could not come due to illness. What they thought would be a solitary vacation becomes a love at second site romance, when their initial impressions do not hold true. Knowing they have just one week together, what will happen when they part ways? You will like both main characters and be cheering for their HEA!
This is the only book I have read in the Love in Destiny series (interconnected books with different authors). It works fine as a stand alone.
If you love hockey heroes, swoony romance, and a dose of laughter, Sunsets, Stick Saves, and a Honeymoon will make you melt! G.K. Brady delivers another feel-good story that’s equal parts cozy and charming. The banter is adorable, the chemistry sparkles, and the emotional moments hit just right.
It’s like the perfect mix of sunshine, snuggles, and slapshots — the kind of book that leaves you smiling long after you turn the last page. 💛
Perfect for fans of sports romance with heart, humor, and happily-ever-afters.
WOW this book was so good! It was an absolute amazing start to a series! I loved everything about Lexi and Josh. I loved how we got to see Josh’s soft side and how he helps Lexi grow. The heat was so good I was jumping up and down reading it! Watching them grow together just made my heart so happy! If you’re looking for a hockey romance that is so hard to put down, this is a book for you!
Thank you so much to the author for sending me this as an ARC and for being such a gem. My ARC review was late but G.K Brady was so so kind to me. They truly care about their readers and are so so sweet. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, you have my support always ❤️
This book was great the storyline was good. I love the characters in this book and the banter was great. I received a free copy of this book and I’m leaving a voluntary and honest review.
