A young woman receives an email invitation to a party for singles. She checks it out, and it seems legitimate. She decides to attend. All the other attendees say she attended, but she is found dead, a few days later, in her home, still wearing the costume she wore to the party.
This is author Steve Demaree's 41st book. Steve still lives in the city of his birth, Lexington, Kentucky, and he and his wife Nell have been married for almost fifty-six years. Steve is currently working on a couple of other mysteries, as well as a book of his all-time favorite TV shows, movies, top forty songs, and his favorite mystery novels he has read over the years.
SPOILER ALERT!!!! It makes no sense that the murderer’s DNA was found in the victim’s car. This is impossible unless this had been extracted from her, and if this was the case, it was not explained. Moreover, there were two characters that had gone missing, but it was never explained why, or never mentioned if they were recovered!!! Lastly, the author brings back the character of Heloise so he may ridicule her, and have the other characters bully her. This is not a good move (and not Christian like, at all!!)
This is my 25th Cy Decker murder mystery, and much like the rest of them, it was hilarious. I especially enjoyed chapters 26 through the end of the book where they were interviewing the suspects… Steve Demaree is one of my favorite authors and, hopefully, he will keep cranking out these wonderful books. (Perhaps Helouise and twinkle toes will be in the next novel?). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Another great book O love the Dekker Mysteries? There is always humor, giving God His proper place in their lives, and all the. Characters are great? The stories are not dark, but I can never guess who the murderer is! Keep up the good work! I always wait for the next book to come out! I have purchased all the books in the series except this one, which I.plan to purchase today!
Steve has done it again, a terrific mystery and a book full of laughs! I LOVE the characters in these books and all the fun they get into solving the murders that happen in their peaceful town.
