Internal Conflict is the story of Olivia Moore, a heart-broken department store buyer, who is trying to find herself again after losing the love of her life.
Also dealing with loves lost, her roommate, Natalie drags Olivia bar to bar, trying to convince her that the cure for a broken heart is random hookups with the local bar hunks. As it usually goes, love pops up where you least expect it, and Olivia is faced with quick-witted Victor Montgomery. However, due to some poor choice words on Victor's part, Olivia writes him off as another jerk.
Although Olivia continues to push Victor away he uses his sense of humor and bold sexual advances to finally get Olivia. Fueled by the intensity of their physical relationship and determination to finally get over her ex Olivia starts to learn how to let someone in. That is until a ghost from her past reappears. Now Olivia is stuck somewhere between her past, present and trying to find herself apart from being in love.
This is a great book! I was a bit worried about the length of this book because it was so long and books of this length usually bore me. That wasn’t the case here. This was a very easy read that kept me engaged from the beginning. There was a lot of drama in this book but that didn’t distract from the plot. I loved all the characters and completely understood why Olivia felt so much conflict in her head and her heart. I am gutted about the cliff hanger because I am desperate to find out who she chose but I honestly can’t wait to find out what happens next. This is an excellent debut book for a new author. 5 stars
Loved this book! Stripling is a new author to me and I am very excited to see what she puts out next. Her style of writing is very laid back, drawing the reader into the story without a lot of unnecessary and tedious details or commentaries. There were no real lulls in the book and I found it very difficult to put it down.
Internal Conflict is very aptly titled as the main character Olivia Moore is riddled with such conflict as she first debates if she wants to enter a relationship and then with whom. Despite this internal conflict, which at times made me want to yell at her, I still found Olivia to be a likable character.
Victor, Victor, Victor - I love his laid back personality, the man is smooth and HOT! The relationship between the two had me hooked from their first meeting and I truly enjoyed watching it develop. The speed at which everything moved was surprisingly fast but I appreciated that the plot didn't drag on unnecessarily. The major conflict really made me want to shake Olivia but I could also see how she struggled with the decision and I anxiously awaited the outcome. In fact, I stayed up all night finishing the book because I just had to know her decision. I can't wait for the next book!
This book is about a woman who lost her first love 5 years ago and just scrapes by. She dresses up and puts on the make up and goes out but then plays tetras because she doesn't really want to be out. One night he friend brings her to the bar and she meets a guy who she thinks is like her but there's a miscommunication and she blows him off. One thing leads to another and they start dating and her lost love from 5 years ago shows up again. She gets confused and can't decide between the two. This book is full of ups and downs and enough drama to last a lifetime but it was an awesome read that I couldn't put down. I can't believe you just left us with that last sentence and no clue who she chose. Fantastic work E.A. Stripling and I patiently await your next book.
I want to say thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book. The main reason I gave this book 4 stars was because I did find a few errors in grammar and spelling throughout the book. It wasn't bad, but the mistakes were there. As for the story it was a very easy read and one that I enjoyed. It had a good mix of seriousness, fun, and romance. I absolutely fell in love with the characters, especially Natalie and her story. I know she wasn't the main character, but she was my favorite. The ending was crazy and left me hanging, (in a good way). I really wish I knew Olivia's choice. I have a feeling, but I'm not sure. Cant wait for another book....Stormi
Hmmmmm, I’m not really sure what to write for a review, did I like this book? Yes, were there bits I didn’t like? Yes, but this was actually to do with the whole storyline, I don’t like a triangle romance when you like all the characters, I do love Brandon but just feel like he didn’t come back for 5 years so unfair of him now for the position he has put her in (but is there a story to those 5 years???) and I love Victor and feel like he’s the one getting the raw deal at the moment, he actually hasn’t done anything to deserve being treated this way, so got a love/hate for this book at the moment, which probably means how well this has been written!
I really enjoyed Olivia & Victor's story. I could somewhat relate to what Olivia was going thru. Great characters. This one pulled me in w/o even trying. Lol. This was a new author for me & am looking forward to reading others by her. I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review for a copy of the book via booksprout.
