Message from UberEats App (A$$h*le Customer): You're now officially 15 minutes late, so I'm docking your tip for every second my dinner isn't in my hands. By the way, this was my first—and likely last—time using this app…
The moment I received that message, I should've opened the guy's $300 pasta and wine order and thrown it out the window.
If I wasn't in desperate need of the money, trust me, I would've.
By the time I deliver the order to a hotel suite in Manhattan, I'm soaked from the rain, exhausted, and shocked as hell at who the customer is.
Dominic Sutton. As in billionaire Dominic Sutton—and the selfish a$$hole who runs the other place I work.
I really should've kept my mouth shut…
When he has the audacity to tip me 3%—three freaking percent—I snap. I tell him exactly what I think of his revolving door of interns, his policy that staff can't even look him in the eyes, and let him know he's the worst CEO in the world.
The sexy smirk on his face makes it clear that my rant doesn't faze him in the slightest.
That's when I take his pricey food and storm back downstairs to my car. (Yes, it tasted amazing…)
I honestly thought he'd forget all about me—he has far bigger things to worry about.
Until I get to work the following Friday. There's an email waiting for
Report to the executive floor to see me. Now.
Something tells me I'm about to find out just how ruthless—and selfish—this man really is.
Novellas that are not tied to a larger, overarching series can be tough. Without that foundation, it's tough to build out a full story that hits.
And this just didn't hit for me in the sense that it was kind of meh and felt like a story Whitney's already written better before. It was cute I guess, but I have already forgotten it.
When Ivy is late dispatching the bougie dinner Dominic ordered on the UberEats app, he’s fuming, but captivated by the delivery driver all the same.
Unable to stop thinking about her, he sets out to learn everything there is to know about the Sutton Industries intern. He soon discovers that there is much more to the fiery brunette than meets the eye.
Whitney always delivers a solid story. My followers probably already know what comes next: I could’ve done with a little more steam and just a bit more story. Although it is a novella, I would have loved even an epilogue as we hit The End just as things were really getting started for the duo.

🛑 Be Advised: My Goodreads shelves are … explicit in both senses. As such, they could be considered spoiler-y.
It was a novella, so everything moved quickly. They went from disliking each other to falling in lust and eventually going at it (mostly in the office). Not much background info was given about them. I don't even know their age, only that she's younger and an intern and he's, of course, an asshole CEO.
These two barely know each other, and that's probably saying something seeing as they became roommates thanks to Dominic. With the forced proximity going on (officemates and roommates), I'd really hope I would get to see them know more about each other on a deeper level, but nuh, what they had was superficial. They never actually talked about personal stuff, and most of their conversations were about business and marketing stuff. 🤷♀️
But who knows? Maybe that's the point of this story after all. For them to have surface-level and lust-driven interactions, and nothing more. 🤔
Anyway, this ends in a HFN, with them agreeing to be in a relationship and see how it'll pan out. If you're looking for swoony romance, this story is not it. There weren't any ILYs and I don't think they even thought about it. Sooo, there's not much of a guarantee between these two, tbh, and imo they would never work out. 😂
Book info: - Novella - Workplace romance - Age gap (??) - Dislike to lust - No cheating, OW - OM (her on&off bf did appear but she finally end things with him) - Separation (3 weeks) - No V (h - no info, H - celibate 9 mos) - HFN (just agreed to date each other)
2.5 stars Wow has Whitney G.’s writing always been this awful or my reading taste has just evolved. I would like to think it’s a little bit of both because this was awful(yep not gonna sugarcoat it).
Also it’s after midnight here while typing this so if it doesn’t make sense I will edit in the morning or not 🤷🏾♀️
I was jiving with the storyline and then Bam, it ended 😒.
Basically, I needed more 🤷♀️.
Dominic is known as an a hole CEO 😅. He’s working late at night when his colleague suggests that he order Uber eats, so he does. All is going well until the driver shows up too late for his convenience; the driver happens to be Ivy, an intern who “works” for him.
Ivy works as an Uber driver in order to pay her bills on top of interning for Dominic, who doesn’t know she exists 😬. She’s been an intern for such a long time because she keeps making mistakes, like showing up late, and never graduates to a better position, at least a paying one 😬. When Dominic orders, Ivy is stuck in New York traffic, which he could clearly see if he’s following the app.
Yet he doesn’t care 😐.
He finds out that Ivy has been kept as an intern because of her stellar ideas that has made the company money.
He decides to give her a position and test her abilities to think outside the box 👀.
And he’s gonna try his best to keep his hands to himself 😅.
What i liked: possible spoilers —the office setting 👀. I’m always down for an office romance
—the tension 👀. There could’ve been more of it but I was okay with what we got
—the banter 🤣 lol. I’m surprised Ivy wasn’t fired 🤣 her smart mouth definitely gets her in trouble 🤣
—the dirty mouth on Dominic 🔥 good lawd 🫠💦🥵
—the few 🔥 we get. We even get some “forbidden” ones 😉🔥
—how sweet Dominic can be 🫶. Sure. He’s an a s s, but he could be so sweet when it comes to Ivy 🫶 and protective too (like moving her out of the hell hope she lived in 👏)
—the OMD 😈 and the JPPPP ness 😉. I always appreciate OMD jealousy scenes 😮💨
—Skittles ❤️ taste the rainbow 👏
—Dominic not being a womanizer 👏
What I didn’t like/wanted more of: spoilers —the ending 😒. It just ends. It was underwhelming. I needed more. We don’t even get an epilogue, which is weird since we’ve been getting them in all of WG’s newer releases. If this was an older book, I’d understand that, but most releases have epilogues. It felt so abrupt
— consistencies 😅. There were times where I was like, what just happened? How do we get from A to B?
—Braxton 🙄 he annoyed me 🤣
—not enough development 😅. Where did her family come from? 🤷♀️ suddenly, they make an appearance What happened with her ex 😑 How did Dominic and Ivy become attracted to each other? I needed more her. Also. We don’t get any ILYs 😒. I mean. If there WERE any, I’d feel like I’d be getting whiplash 😅
Overall, I liked something but didn’t like others
⚠️safety squad⚠️ -no cheating/sharing/owd -OMD-the h’s ex wants her back -dirty talk/cock warming -condoms/no virgins/it’s been nine months for the H/no real info for the h but maybe six months or a year? -HFN/no epilogue
Selfish Suit is quick, fun, and deliciously over-the-top in the best way. Dominic is a cocky billionaire with zero shame, and the heroine gives as good as she gets. The banter cracked me up, the pace never slowed, and Whitney G. nailed that addictive boss/employee dynamic. If you’re in the mood for pure entertainment with heat, sass, and a totally ridiculous meet-disaster, this delivers.
miss whitney never misses when it comes to workplace romance, and this one? it was everything i wanted in a short, filthy office romance.
a possessive, arrogant, control-freak boss who thinks he runs the world until she walks in. she is smart and bold as hell. she didn’t flinch at his power plays, didn’t shrink under his control and she matched him, teased him, pushed him. and then? she brought him to his knees.
3.5 stars! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ This was an over the top office/billionaire/insta-attraction novella! It was a cute, quick, fun read which I was in the mood for!! Dominic does swoop in, but Ivy is no damsel in distress! I’d describe them as two smart business savvy individuals who were drawn to each other!
I NEED an epilogue!!
FAV QUOTE: “Because I won’t let you forget what it feels like to stay.” Dominic
Thank you to WG for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Read 3: Still loving this. Only just now realized they didn’t get to the I love yous. We need an epilogue!
Read 2: Did I read this book for a second time in just two days? Yes. Yes I did. I haven’t been reading much this year until recently but this is the first book on my best of 2025 shelf.
I still think it’s tragic (for me) that it just ends when they get together. I need more!!!
Omg I loved this novella so much. Dominic was perfect. When he would get protective or jealous? Swoon!!!
The only thing I’m upset about is that it ended right when they finally decide to give their relationship a chance. I mean at least give me an epilogue! I’m dying here!
Since I recently read several angsty books, I needed a bit of a reprieve, so Whitney G’s Selfish Suit novella arrived at the perfect time. Her books, especially her billionaire romance novellas, always put me in a great mood. I love the FMCs. They are always well matched for their MMC counterpart. In this case, when Ivy delivers food late as an Uber Eats driver to Dominic, it escalates to much more. She manages to straighten Dominic out and later moves in with him. I was hooked from that point on.
Whitney G. writes great banter in her stories. And Dominic, being such an Alpha billionaire boss, had some possessive moments over Ivy. I loved him standing up for her in front of her parents. It was a quick read and just what I needed.
Outrageous comedy, a couple that's fire together, snappy dialogues and an enemies-to-lovers romance that will delight you for a sinful couple of hours.
I really enjoyed it because it's creative when it comes to the marketing world where the characters work and especially when the jokes fly making you laugh out loud. I never knew what to expect from the quirky female character. She's really something, never flinching in the face of the aloof and egregiously handsome CEO that everyone fears and whispers about.
Just from the start, I was laughing during their meet-cute which is completely over the top and hilarious. That marks their relationship along with some heat and some much deserved recognition for the lady's wits.
As expected, there's some denial from both of them before they get their HEA but it's done with style and heated passion. I had a lot of fun, thank you! However, what is wrong with the CEO's friend? Is he getting his lesson in love too? He deserves some bruise to his ego :-D
ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review.
No one writes office romance like Whitney! It’s one of my favorite tropes and no one even comes close to hers. I just love her writing!!
Ivy was fun & strong & tough. She was so smart & I loved how she was when it came to work. She always stepped up & told it how it was & was great at her job. Dominic & Ivy’s first encounter was something! Ivy’s not the type to just lower her head & walk away if she feels disrespected. Dominic’s not used to people standing up to him so when Ivy shows that she’s not going to stand for his attitude, I think he found her intriguing. He may be known as the selfish CEO in Manhattan but there was a heart in that chest of his.
This was such a fun story & once again, Whitney knocked it out of the park with the banter between Dominic & Ivy. That was my favorite part. It had the perfect amount of spice and funny moments that had me laughing out loud! I didn’t want this story to end.
I also would like to add that I love Whitney for doing shorter chapters. I just like them better. :) Makes me feel like I’m reading faster.
I knew SELFISH SUIT was a novella going in. I knew I was going to be disappointed when it ended. I was right. Ivy is such a fun character, but she sure meets her match in Dominic.
He’s the boss no one looks in the eye, who strolls through the office and everyone scrambles to look busy. Ivy is the intern who is contrary, always late, and brilliant. They butt heads over her side gig delivery UberEats and it’s a funny, romantic and swoon-worthy ride. He shows her a side no one else sees. She shows him someone that can set his structured life on end. I read an advance copy of this book so you could jump right in and know you are going to enjoy your time spent reading it.
Ivy works a few jobs to make bank and one of them is a food delivery person. When she has an unruly & quote rude delivery, she is a little perplexed to learn the pain in the tush is none other than her boss from her other job, Dominic Sutton. She knows she is in trouble when he calls her into his office but will this grump of a man get under her skin in other ways? ;) this is a fast paced workplace romance with some great banter between the two main characters. Told in first person and dual POV.
This was an appetizer. You need a quick read with a touch of heat. This will do.
This is a story as old as time in the romance world… down on her luck heroine, but fiesty. Billionaire know it all alpha hero. Oil and water, but that attraction is irresistible. You know what happens … insta lust that turns into love.
Good read, from Whitney G, but where is my epilogue? A “The End”, uh no, lol.
Would love longer books from Whitney G like in the past. I enjoy her writing and something is better than nothing, but me needs more.
This story moves at a fast-paced. She's an intern who gets promoted and he's the owner of the company. There's some tension (both good and bad) and I enjoyed how the story plays out.
The ending comes quickly and there is no epilogue, which I think leaves the author the opportunity to come back to this short story later and develop it into a full novel (just my thoughts).
Overall, it's a nice, quick office romance with no drama.
This is my first ARC ever and I loved it. I didn’t know it was a novella (my bad) so you can imagine my extreme disappointment when it ended. I was fully invested in Dominic wooing Ivy the second time around and then bam it was the end. Ugh! A full length novel would have been an absolute explosion but I will take what I get. 😄
No idea why this is just a novella.. why waste a perfectly good story with rushing and missing out on all the good stuff?? This was a really good story and could have been a full book .. super disappointed I’m not going to read the rest of them when u get fully invested but get ripped off but it only being a novella
Super cute premise with a good set characters. I feel like could have used more development as went too fast and not very realistic. Also no major twists
I love reading and listening to Whitney G’s books! This is a fast paced office romance. There is plenty of banter and lots of chemistry. She is stubborn and I found a bit confusing in her lack of trust. He is gorgeous and demanding until he gets to work with her and know more about her. There are some spicy love scenes and of course a happily ever after!
Every once in a while, Whitney gifts us a novella so unapologetically bold, sexy, and smart that it reminds us exactly why we fell in love with her signature style in the first place. Selfish Suit is everything—a whip-smart, wildly addictive, deliciously steamy novella that hits all the right notes in under 200 pages and still leaves you begging for more.
The moment we meet the Selfish Suit himself—Dominic Sutton 💼 - we’re pulled into Whitney’s glittering, sharp-edged Manhattan world where billionaires don’t just own the boardroom, they own your attention. And yet, it’s the heroine - our girl Ivy- sassy, brilliant Ivy, 👄 who steals the entire damn show and the conference room ....She’s brilliant, dignified, endlessly relatable, and fiercely self-respecting and do damn sexy in a realistic way... You feel every beat of her frustration, ambition, and fire. Her life may be filled with unpaid internships and fast-food deliveries, but her confidence crackles like lightning—and her mouth? Whew, it matches his ego punch for punch. The banter? Lethal. The chemistry? Instant combustion. The spice? Let’s just say... Whitney G did not come to play. This isn’t just a billionaire-office-romance—it’s a novella masterclass in tension. From elevator showdowns to stolen dinners and power moves wrapped in sexual innuendo, Selfish Suit blends seductive slow burn with firework-level explosive moments. And yet, in between the heat, Whitney gives us those glimpses—those achingly tender, secretly vulnerable moments- that make her alpha heroes unforgettable.
And then there's the spice🧨🔥🚨… oh my GOD. Every kiss, every argument, the possessiveness of our Dominic, every boss-employee power dynamic twist is charged with raw desire, filthy sweet dialogue, and the kind of scenes that make you want to scream into a pillow (in the best possible way) and yes laughter 🤣...Yes, this is part of The Steamy Latte Collection, and yes, it earns that title with five- nope-- fifty alarm heat.
What makes this one special, though, is the emotional tug beneath the sass. The heroine’s strength and the hero’s surprising evolution - from the arrogant CEO "yet soft for only her" to the man obsessed - alpha obsessed btw- reminds us that even the "selfish" ones can fall....hard.
Ivy is the heroine for every smart, ambitious woman navigating the corporate world with her head high and dignity intact. She’s not just Whitney’s best-written female lead in a novella- she’s us. And for that, I loved her even more. And Dominic- nope I can't say anymore or else that will be the only thing I shall be doing today. So ummm, you know when you know!!!! 🥵🔥♨️
Final Verdict: A sizzling, smart, and deeply satisfying novella that proves once again why Whitney G reigns as the queen of office heat. Dominic and Ivy are your new obsession, and trust me- you’ll never look at a takeout order the same way again.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Highly recommended for fans of: ✅Office tension ✅Billionaire boss who needs humbling ✅Feisty, unforgettable heroines ✅Dirty talk that’ll short-circuit your brain ✅Steamy reads you won’t put down
Sharing my honest opinion after being able to win an ARC copy of this story. So grateful! 🥰
