Kelly you have done it again!
I truly adore Axel and Ruby love story. The push and pull, the angst, and the sweetness was everything. Getting more into the backstory of Axel and his family puts everything into perspective and my hearts breaks for them. Axel finally finding someone who loves him and feeling comfortable around Ruby to share parts of him that he keeps hidden from the world was everything🥺. But my girl Ruby is such a bad ass and epilepsy trope was done wonderfully. It was beautiful to see her go from a woman who didn’t believe or want love to falling in love with a powerful man who melts for her. I can’t wait to continue more of this series because something tells me Sire is going to eat so bad… and Nadine girl I see youu🤭😉

I KNEW this book was going to be a banger & it sure as hell was! Axel had me intrigued ever since I read Nash. His possessiveness and obsession with Ruby was everything! And the fact that she was just as obsessed with him made it even better. The mutual stalking was a chef's freaking kiss and hilarious. There was so much fantastic banter between Ruby and Axel, but also with all the other characters. I laughed so many times. This book reveals so many jaw dropping secrets, with twists and turns that literally had my jaw on the floor.
And the spice??? GOOD GOD. I don’t know how Kelly comes up with this in her head, but it is delicious! The initiation scene in this particular one will live rent free in my brain🥵

I’ve been eager to read this author’s book for a while now, and I’m so happy I finally did because I loved it! I knew it would be spicy, but I wasn’t prepared for how much I’d enjoy the plot and the characters. There are plenty of spicy scenes that made me blush while reading, but this book is so much more than that. The plot kept me on the edge of my seat with its twists, suspense, and secrets.
Axel and Ruby have such amazing chemistry; they really sizzle together! I especially loved their playful bickering—it had me laughing out loud so many times. Ruby is such a strong, independent woman who stands her ground, and it’s so entertaining to see how she keeps Axel on his toes. She’s bold and sassy but also has insecurities that make her relatable. And Axel! He’s totally smitten with Ruby from the moment he sees her. He loves to push her buttons to see her fiery side, but he’s also incredibly sweet. He knows he has to earn her trust, and I admired how he goes out of his way to do just that. The moments when he opens up to her and shows his vulnerable side are so touching and really deepen their emotional connection.
Overall, this book was fantastic! I loved feeling the bonds between the characters and how they support each other. Their camaraderie is truly special. I can’t wait to dive into the next book in this series!

And though Axel stalks her on a regular, she stalks him right back. Both have been hurt in the past and carry heavy baggage, but they hold an irresistible raging fire and soldering heat for each other. Do they dare to cross that hellish threshold into an inferno and allow themselves to be wholly consumed, body and soul?

If Axel made her his queen, she'd have to go through the initiation of his family's traditionally ritual, which included his brothers and their queens. He wants Ruby for himself, however, and would kill anyone should they lay a finger on her. His world is wrought with unimaginable dangers, making her his queen would mean making her a prime target. And Ruby, the wildfire that she is, who discovered his dark secrets, could be a loose cannon, a reckless hellion, if he did not keep her close and protect her.

Ah! This book though! Kelly kills it yet again bringing in the hardcore big guns through the merciless, yet concupiscent, Bratva kings and queens. Ravishing salacious kink, explosive debauchery. It ruthlessly runs you through the shredder, puts you back together raw, gives you a salt bath, and sets you ablaze with thigh-clenchingly unholy, feverish fire. 🥵🥵🥵 Then, if that isn't enough, just when you think you can catch a breath, you get crowned with a ciffhanger, leaving you to want more.

This was a spicy one, starting off strong with mutual stalking (new for me) tension and banter that no one does quite like Kelly Finley. It’s always fun to beta read with Kelly because it’s a conversation, it’s respectful and there’s always a willingness to discuss things and listen and also really…educational 🤭. Axel and Ruby had a true love built on loyalty, safety, care and respect with so many sweet and intimate moments that for me established they were in it for the long haul. Mind the triggers here folks, there are dark parts but the light seeps through quite beautifully.
👋 Therapist Take: This was a darker one, lots of references to childhood abuse, surviving SA, risky situations that had my heart thumping and spice that was different than what I’m used to. The thing about reading for me that is so incredibly important is the way a book challenges me to step outside my comfort zone, sometimes to be uncomfortable on purpose and to work through a bias or think about things differently. This book had situations that challenged me and also showed me the complexity of human relationships and the ability to find a common thread even when I seemingly would have nothing in common with the characters. Axel and his brothers share a very personal and specific bond and Axel and Ruby shared an intimacy that allowed them to show one another parts of themselves that were just for them. No one writes like @kellyfinleybooks, and thank goodness she keeps giving us more 💕.

For the spice, I loved this book. I thought it was intriguing and I really enjoyed the love-hate dynamic that Axel and Ruby had, especially when it went into the Primal Play parts. But take out all of the naked parts and I was left feeling meh. The same issue I had with the first book in this series was present in this one as well. There was just too much going on and way too many side characters that had their own stories being shoved into this book. It got to be confusing and honestly just annoying.
I'm also a little confused on how/why Sire is the next book and I'm not sure if it's going to be mostly set prior to the events in the first two books since he's already met and initiated his Queen? The way Sire and Wren are in this book I would have sworn they already had a book and I even went hunting for it when I was finished reading Nash since every time we got them in a scene I felt like I was missing something. So I'm curious to see how the next book will play out but also annoyed enough with this one to maybe want to avoid more of this series. But let's be honest, I want to see more initiations so I'll most likely be back to read those.

Oh this highly anticipated read following NASH was WORTH THE DAMN HYPE!!!! AXEL AND RUBY ARE EVERYTHING!!!!! 🖤Their story was so different and unique to their characters it fit them so perfectly. Ruby and Axel's banter is off the goddamn chart, and Kelly's writing is such a clever, hilarious and genius masterpiece. I was laughing so much and then was sweating and panting with the smut and sexual chemistry between Ruby and Axel!! They were so meant to be together and I am so happy they found each other. Ruby unlocks a sensitive, sweet and such a loving side to Axel that is so beautiful to witness. Likewise, Axel tests Ruby and brings down her walls and makes her realize she is so worthy of love, while still being her independent sassy self!

I have no idea how Kelly does it but my god this book is off the charts! I have loved everything I have read by Kelly and Axels story is yet another banger!
Axel is the leader of his family, intimidating, tattooed up and hard. But somehow he can joke, be protective of what is his and be a panty melter. And Ruby is the epitome of a strong, independent woman who trusts no one but the ones she loves. She’s the perfect match for Axel. She fights him on every aspect and loves the games. She’s his partner in his law business, family business and personal business. She’s his perfect match.
I love how we see Luca, Scarlett and Zar along with Colton, Blaire and Beau and how they are now all also mixed in with the Kings and Queens.
I just love this book, it was so good and the spiciest thing I have read this summer so far! Thank you Kelly!

Ruby and Axel are two of the most dynamite characters I have read in a little bit! That isn't to discount those other characters, but to tell you that these two were OFF THE CHARTS!
These two had the BANTER that rivals all banter! I couldn't get enough! There were times I laughed 😆, hooted and hollered!! And we cannot forget the leg kicks like I was trying to be a Rockette from my couch that came along with it.
This book was full of spice that started at 15%!! YOU READ THAT RIGHT 15%!!! We don't call Kelly the Queen of Spice for nothing!! She brought the spice that was soooo HAWWTTT 💥🔥🔥🔥! I wouldn't have even cared if this had a plot. I would have been here for the smut alone.
Lemme just say that Kelly gave us Axel. A mafia- non-mafia man that could do so much within these pages. But she said HERE CATCH THIS. In walks Ruby. She gave what she got all the way through this book! I loved that we had such a bad AF FMC!
I couldn't get enough of this book! And I am already pushing my way to the front of the line for the next one!!

Ruby and Axel are two of the most dynamite characters I have read in a little bit! That isn't to discount those other characters, but to tell you that these two were OFF THE CHARTS!
These two had the BANTER that rivals all banter! I couldn't get enough! There were times I laughed 😆, hooted and hollered!! And we cannot forget the leg kicks like I was trying to be a Rockette from my couch that came along with it.
This book was full of spice that started at 15%!! YOU READ THAT RIGHT 15%!!! We don't call Kelly the Queen of Spice for nothing!! She brought the spice that was soooo HAWWTTT 💥🔥🔥🔥! I wouldn't have even cared if this had a plot. I would have been here for the smut alone.
Lemme just say that Kelly gave us Axel. A mafia- non-mafia man that could do so much within these pages. But she said HERE CATCH THIS. In walks Ruby. She gave what she got all the way through this book! I loved that we had such a bad AF FMC!
I couldn't get enough of this book! And I am already pushing my way to the front of the line for the next one!!

Wow! Ruby is a total badass. She can hold her own with Axel. I thought Axel was an asshat in book 1 but he redeemed himself. He’s a true caretaker. Ruby and Axel were definitely soulmates.

As always, the Queen of Spice has done it again! From the very first chapter I fell in love with Axel and Ruby! Who couldn’t love a man like him?!? I think I may have a new favorite book boyfriend by Kelly Finley now!

Kelly really said let’s take a not mafia-mafia man and make him down bad for a fiery redhead. Alright girl, I’m with you.
This book has all the elements of a great mafia/secret society book - secrets, danger, alpha males, sassy women, family hierarchy, touch her and die, and just the right amount of taboo.
Ruby is a paralegal for Axel at his law firm. Little does she know he breaks the law daily when he stalks her once she leaves the office. Jokes on him though because Ruby is onto his antics and wants some answers of her own. One tight space and overhead secrets means Ruby has gotten herself into some trouble and needs someone to protect her - enter Axel.
These two were such a great combination of sexy, sassy, and sweet. Axel is most definitely dominant, but Ruby holds her own in many ways and she knows how to make Axel soft for her. Truth is, it’s not much of a challenge because Axel has been loving Ruby for a long time.
This series has quickly become one of my favorites. Kelly took a mafia romance and flipped it on its head to create the perfect combination of dark suspense strong men who want to worship their women. It makes me absolutely giddy the way these men love their women and I can’t wait to see some of our future couples come to life.

This book was a deliciously wild & spicy ride! I mean first lets just stare at the cover for a few more minutes... Axel has it bad for his sassy paralegal Ruby. He stalks her but doesn't realize she knows and is stalking him back. He is somewhat of a vigilante with very taboo traditions. He wants Ruby but feels he must act when she is ready. Axel has many layers and truly cares about Ruby. If you enjoy dark, suspenseful, taboo with some serious mafia vibes you will also love this!

I’ve been told by multiple friends to start this series and the only regret I have is not starting sooner!! I knew after reading Nash that Kelly was going to deliver a banger with Axel and boy did she ever!!

4.5 stars! I really am enjoying this series, although Nash daddy is still my #1! But I absolutely love how fierce and strong Ruby is! She is what every queen should be and I love how much she cares for those she cares for. There's so much tension, banter, and spice between Axel and Ruby and it's all pure perfection. But that ending was pretty rude and now I need the next book to see what happens with the plot that spans across this series.

I just read the most beautiful, tear-jerking moment in the smuttiest, spiciest scene in this book. That's Kelly Finley. She's going to make you feel...and then make you feeeeeel.

Axel fell for her the first day they met and her hatred of him placed a vice around his heart. Her disdain bloomed into an obsession with her (as well as some “light” stalking on his part) Ruby, always ready to fight back, starts to spy on him in return. They are a match made in...
When they finally get together, it's “not-mafia-mafia” relationship goals. He showers her with his devotion, this Dom ready to drop to his knees for his Queen. Her devotion to who he is - a man who wants a family with his loving wife and kittens, as well as the ruthless, remorseless killer when he needs to be. Throughout the book, we get an even deeper knowledge of their family history and what made Nadine, Axel and his brothers who they are today. (Lots of tears!)
There is a third act breakup, which I usually hate, but it was handled so perfectly. The current of their dedication to each other was a major part of it and it actually me love them more.
Kelly's characters are so relatable even when, on the outside, you're nothing alike. Who hasn't felt the need to protect a loved one? Or had to deal with confidence issues? She shows you what her characters think and feel, allowing us to truly step into the story rather than become a passive reader of another book.
I love Kelly's work and traveling through her backlog and getting to know all the others in this world has been eye-opening and delightful and I can’t wait for more Kelly (and Sire, Loch, Jace…)

I really enjoyed this story. While there is a lot of spice scenes, they are all ones I would say add to the story. I love when a spice scene adds to the storyline ;) There is a different series set before Axel that I wish I had read first, I think it would have added more to this story for me, but I also think Axel can be read as a standalone. I'll be going back to read the previous books, I'm hooked on these characters so I want more lol. I do have some unanswered questions, that I won't spoil, so I really hope we get those answers in the next books because..... man were those some heavy hitter surprises! Whew. Kelly Finley has done it again. There’s a reason she’s known as the Queen of Spice, and this book just solidified it all over again. I’ve been eagerly anticipating this release since Nash and Vale’s book dropped in February—and let me tell you, it did not disappoint.
One of my favorite parts? The parallel timeline structure. It was such a refreshing twist to see the story unfold alongside Nash and Vale’s instead of in a typical linear fashion. Getting alternate perspectives added depth and dimension, making this universe feel even richer.
Ruby was an absolute force—intelligent, methodical, and full of razor-sharp one-liners that matched Axel’s fire beat for beat. She loves hard, fights harder, and never backs down from what she believes in. Her epilepsy wasn’t just a side note; it highlighted her strength. And Axel’s care for her? So gentle, so protective, and never patronizing. Swoon.
Axel stalking her oblivious to the fact that she was stalking him back and even bugged his office? I howled. 😂
And let’s talk about this man. All hard edges and “touch who I love and die” energy, but underneath that dangerous exterior? A heart that beats only for Ruby. It was love at first sight for him, no question. And watching it grow was such a satisfying journey.
Also—Sparky and the kittens?! Their whole little cat family was unexpected and completely adorable. A not mafia-mafia bad boy continually being cockblocked by kittens? I was losing it. 😂
Now listen… the exhibitionism in this book? Unapologetic. Fire. I thought I was ready—I was not. New book kink unlocked. 🫣 These two have zero chill, and I loved every single blush-inducing second of it. The taboo element of the initiation and the primal vibes. 5🌶️
The reveal about Axel’s son totally blindsided me—but it made sense once the pieces clicked into place. Katya’s disappearance, the secrecy, the betrayal? Whew. It was a lot. But it never felt like forced drama. And while I felt for Ruby in that moment (I mean, who doesn’t want to be someone’s “first everything”?), the story handled it with care and emotion.
My only gripe? The way the situation with Alena was handled. Axel never lied about being with her—it was just part of his past. Ruby’s reaction felt overblown, especially since it had zero bearing on their relationship. It came off as unnecessary drama, and honestly, he didn’t deserve the guilt trip for simply trying to do the right thing.
And while I completely understand Ruby’s desire to help Colton, Blair, and Beau, the timing felt off. She was already emotionally shutting Axel out, and those choices—while noble—felt like rubbing salt in the wound. If she and Axel had been on solid ground, it would’ve read differently. But in that moment, it just felt... disrespectful.
Certainly wasn't enough to keep me from giving this 5 stars tho.

Ahh Kelly has done it again! 🙌🏼 Book two in the Belles & Bratvas Beasts series delivers a spicy, addictive dark romance featuring ex-mafia lawyer Axel King and his bold, snarky paralegal, Ruby Jones. Axel gives off serious tough guy energy, but his heart was hers the second she flipped him off. 😂 And rightfully so, bc Ruby is an absolute spitfire baddie born to be his equal.🔥😮💨 I LOVED her tenacity, and all of her clapbacks had me screaming! 👏🏼🤣
Their relationship is quite possibly my favorite out of all of Kelly’s characters so far. Checked all of my boxes…tension, playful banter, and steamy moments. What added heart to the story were the deeper layers, like Ruby’s chronic illness and Axel’s emotional vulnerability regarding his dark past. This book was the perfect balance of heart and heat. And HOLY BLEEP were these two HOT. 🔥🥵🌶️
The dynamic between all the Queens and Kings makes the world feel rich and connected. Their bonds run deep and had me wishing I could join their family. 🥹 And don’t even get me started on Jace… My man. My man. 😍 I need to know who his secret lady is already! 🤭 The BEST part ofc was Sparky and her sweet kittens always annoying Axel. LOVE! 😹 I am SO excited for Sire and Wren’s upcoming story. Axel gives off serious tough guy energy, but his heart was hers the second she flipped him off. 😂 And rightfully so, bc Ruby is an absolute spitfire baddie born to be his equal.🔥😮💨 I LOVED her tenacity, and all of her clapbacks had me screaming! 👏🏼🤣
Their relationship is quite possibly my favorite out of all of Kelly’s characters so far. Checked all of my boxes…tension, playful banter, and steamy moments. What added heart to the story were the deeper layers, like Ruby’s chronic illness and Axel’s emotional vulnerability regarding his dark past. This book was the perfect balance of heart and heat. And HOLY BLEEP were these two HOT. 🔥🥵🌶️
The dynamic between all the Queens and Kings makes the world feel rich and connected. Their bonds run deep and had me wishing I could join their family. 🥹 And don’t even get me started on Jace… My man. My man. 😍 I need to know who his secret lady is already! 🤭 The BEST part ofc was Sparky and her sweet kittens always annoying Axel. LOVE! 😹 I am SO excited for Sire and Wren’s upcoming story. Axel is the second book in the interconnected series, Belles & Bratva Beasts. It is a standalone, dark, enemies to lovers, not mafia-mafia, stalker romance with a band of brothers, a morally grey hero, and so much more. If you've read the first book in this series, Nash, the timeline for Axel's story overlaps with Nash's story. If you haven't read Nash, I highly recommend it, it's amazing, but it's not necessary for understanding Axel.
This series is my new addiction! My favorite obsession! I love the complexity and the interconnection, the long kept secrets and epic surprises. I love the s*x positivity and the free thinking. I love it ALL!
I love the passion and possessiveness that Axel has for Ruby. I loved Ruby's witty personality and her back and forth banter with Axel is very entertaining to say the least.
This story is riveting, mesmerizing, emotional, sultry, and steamy. I absolutely loved the way the characters embrace each other's k!nks. I loved the secret society aspect of the story as well. Their traditions and brotherhood amaze and intrigue me.
The writing, pace, and flow of the story are phenomenal as are the characters, character development, relationship development, storytelling, storyline, and world building.
This is an incredible read that I would highly recommend. The ending is jaw dropping with intrigue to setup for the next book, Sire, which I will be patiently, and excitedly, awaiting.

Kelly Finley. How did I not know your books existed? I am so excited to have received Axel as an ARC. I read through the book in one day and can’t wait to go back and read Nash. However, I am not happy that I must patiently wait to get the next book in the series to find out how Axel resolves some things in his Bravata world.
Axel is a take-charge, do as I say kinda guy who finds himself stalking his paralegal, Ruby. What he doesn’t know is she is stalking him right back. This leads to Ruby uncovering some information she probably would have been better off not knowing and leads to a romance that is full of tension, passion, and take no shit from both parties.
What I enjoyed about this book, besides the delicious spice, is the way Axel truly cares about Ruby’s well-being and what would be best for her. He has a caring heart underneath the I’ll kill you exterior. He has no problem protecting his family and showing loyalty. Ruby approaches Axel’s life with a sense of curiosity and respect that leads them into a true partnership.
The emotional depth in the book was so good and I appreciated finding those moments of warmth and impact. The dynamic with Axel and Ruby, but also the side characters was dynamic. The banter was awesome and on point. I want more and honestly forgotten how much I love mafia romance.

Holy hell! Now I know why Kelly is nicknamed The Queen of Spice because she in fact is. I think this series so far is one of the spiciest I’ve ever read and I’m here for it. The thing is sometimes there is too much spice and not enough plot but FUCK Kelly doesn’t do that. It’s a good balance and there is so much intense shit going on it’s wild and the banter was hilarious! I absolutely loved it!

I loved every second of this book! I need everyone to go read Axel ASAP!
Axel is a he falls first, forced proximity, age gap, mafia, vigilante romance between Ruby and Axel.
I loved how Ruby wants to take charge of her life. She’s learning what she wants and likes, and she’s found a safe space to do that with Axel and his family. She’s able to be herself with all of them, and discovers parts of her that she didn’t have the space to before meeting them. She really steps into her own, and I think everyone will really love her.
Meet your next book husband, Axel. He’s obsessed with Ruby in the best way, and he would do absolutely anything for her. I loved how he wants to keep her safe, but he respects her wishes and is there by her side with every decision she makes. He loves her and his family fiercely, and readers will love him just as much.

I just recently found Kelly and DEVOURED Nash! I was so excited when I found out I had been gifted the opportunity to read Axel early and it was so good! I did not see this story coming for him and in a way it made it that much more enticing. Axel has the weight of the world on his shoulders and at the end of the story he still does but he has this incredible side to him that really only his FMC gets the privilege to see and share with him.
His FMC I absolutely have a girl crush on. She is hot and so freaking funny and doesn’t take any crap from anyone but especially Axel. That girl can bring the sass and the torture and I was cracking up at what she put her man through early in the book. They were perfectly paired!
There were once again a ton of surprises, hot and steamy scenes that will have you salivating, and plenty of suspense. I am so invested in this series and cannot wait for Sire’s book!
