Read this book in less than 24 hours, that in itself says something, I'm just not sure what it is at this moment.

I went into Mrs Rathore with high hopes — the setup promised a gripping emotional landscape, and early on, I genuinely thought this might become one of those books I’d carry with me long after the last page. But somewhere along the way, the spark fizzled.

The biggest issue for me was the protagonists. I couldn’t bring myself to root for either of them — their choices felt murky, their motivations undercooked, and I found myself more annoyed than invested. It’s not that flawed characters are a problem (far from it) but here, the flaws didn’t lead to growth or insight. Just… detachment.

Curtis writes with style, and there are flashes of sharp observation, but the emotional payoff never really landed. By the time I reached the final line, I felt more indifferent than anything — not angry, not sad, just vaguely underwhelmed. A strange letdown for a book that seemed, at first, like it would be exactly my thing.

Mrs Rathore is not just a story, but an emotional battlefield adorned with silken saris, sharp words and broken hearts.

I like the way Avni wrote letters to Aryan and Aryan took her to his posting. It has a slow burn romance with a lot of tension. Both Avni and Aryan are forced to confront their preconceptions and grapple with their personal conflicts, and slowly move towards understanding and, perhaps, something more profound. The underlying tension between past desires and present reality creates a compelling emotional landscape. While the story is full of emotional intensity, it also highlights moments of unexpected humor and tenderness, especially in the conversations between Avni and Rhea.

I love all books by this author, and this one is no exception. At first, I thought Avni was a strong character, but she slowly lost herself in her feelings for Aryan. Initially, I didn’t like her, but over time, I understood her better she has been through a lot.

Aryan was okay, not great. He seemed to forget Ira too quickly after marrying Avni and started catching feelings for his wife soon after.

What I loved most were the letters. Even though Aryan didn’t actually write those letters to Avni, I really liked how they conveyed emotions. I could totally relate, especially coming from an army background.

Overall, it's a good read a sweet and emotional love story.

I started reading this book on Wattpad and later on came to know about the Kindle edition. I read the book over the weekend and although the story premise started off well, I somewhat lost my interest in the middle..I skipped 3-4 chapters.
I did not like Avni nor I liked Aryan. Both were stubborn, but, not for the correct cause. The FL married ML because she wanted him to suffer the same way she was suffering post her accident - which by the way- was caused by him.. To me this was a very immature reason to bound oneself to someone unknown. Mishaps and unfortunate events happen even when two people know each other and decide to spend rest of their lives together.. so getting married to someone who is responsible for your accident is a very wrong decision.
Secondly, ML who was supposed to marry his childhood sweetheart, suddenly let go of his love of years to save his skin. Again very wrong portrayal of an Army personnel whose character is shallow.
I also had problem which the SC - ML's former fiancee - girl you were literally and figuratively dumped on the day of your wedding by YOUR groom!!! Get a spine and some self respect to move on from such toxic and shallow person!!! Why would you want to be the OW??
FL and ML fight and eventually they fall in love. Still ML keeps his former fiancee close, but, has a problem with his wife's childhood male friend? Talking about narcissist behaviour. Also he wants his wife to sacrifice her body, because he will not use protection during intercourse. She becomes pregnant before her career altering performance and her husband instead of supporting her, he wants her to give up her dreams!!!
Aryan was a big RED flag for me so I did not like how this story was progressed..

Absolutely hated Aryan and how the author tried to make him the victim when he was nothing but a manipulative, emotionally abusive man child piece of shit. Avni, I honestly expected that, she would make Aryan rue the day when he destroyed her career due to his recklessness, but she started having feelings for the guy. It was always Avni who sacrificed her career, and yet Aryan had the audacity to be butthurt when Avni wanted to abort the baby, to finally compete in the dance competition, that she couldn't compete in , initially because of Aryan. I am usually against abortion, but I hated how the author tried to showcase Avni as being selfish when it came to choosing her career or having a family, while in Aryan's case she showed him as a victim. That dude literally chose between the so called love, his queen, his soulmate Ira and his reputation and career, him choosing the latter, and was shown as a poor hurt victim, but nope Avni choosing her career made her the villain every damn time!? . This book was one epic garbage, that only exceeded its expectations of not getting anymore worse , yet kept getting worse with each damn page.

Advanced Apologies to the Author.
I'm extremely disappointed with this book. The characters, except for Prashant, Rhea, and Noor, are overwhelmingly toxic. The main male characters? Let's just say they left me unimpressed.

Aryan comes across as arrogant and self-absorbed, struggling to decide between his wife and ex. Avni, on the other hand, is infuriating – I had high hopes for her character, expecting more depth, but she fell flat. The toxic dynamics between Aryan and Avni are palpable, as they engage in a vicious cycle of revenge, hurting those around them without taking responsibility or accountability.

Other characters, like Ira, are equally frustrating. Her persistence with a married man is baffling, and a part of me screams, "Slap him and move on!" Kavya's self-centeredness is off-putting, particularly her inappropriate comments about her best friend's husband and her constant one-upmanship.

Overall, the book is a tangled web of toxic relationships and selfish behavior, leaving me disappointed and frustrated.

This book had so much potential but the author couldn't implement it.

What the hell did I just read ??????? and WHYYY?!?!?

I closed this book and genuinely sat there wondering if I accidentally skipped chapters, or if the author expected me to telepathically fill in all the missing logic. This was less of a story and more of a chaotic hallucination I didn’t consent to.

The plot? Couldn’t find it.
The characters? Confusing.
The vibes? Unsettling but not in a good way but more like when your phone glitches at 2 AM.

By the end, I wasn’t horrified or emotional, just irritated that I’d basically spent an hour reading someone else’s migraine.

Not for me. At all.

The book started out strong and I liked how Avni did not let Aryan get away with his mistake. I was expecting her to win very game but instead, she was the one who was constantly hurt. Aryan's scenes with the OW were really unbearable and that was when the book started to go downhill for me. He was a bratty man child and while her character had potential, the way she fell for him so easily in the end, just did not sit right with me. The ending felt really rushed and there were so many things that Aryan did not grovel for, which was disappointing tbh.

I started this thinking it’d be a new favorite — the premise had promise. But I couldn’t connect with either protagonist; both left me more annoyed than invested. By the end, I felt oddly indifferent. A stylish read, but emotionally lukewarm

I am in love with this book. I reread it for two times but still not get enough of it. The author writes such a beautiful story. Can't wait for Ira and Prashant story.
