In a forgotten time, a young Somali girl by the name of Shabelle seeks to carve out her own destiny as she adventures through the jungles and palm-beaches of the powerful Sultanate of Mogadishu. When the ruling dynasty abandons the famed city of gold-traders to a malicious dark force from the sea, Shabelle with the help of a brave knight named Alamagan must rally the people of the Sultanate and defend the ancient city.
I didn't realise this was a children's extremely short picture book... I was expecting a 200+ page fantasy book lmao. 5 stars anyway because I live for 🇸🇴 rep
Gorgeous, gorgeous illustrations with an elegant, art deco feel. The story was engaging, though it could have used a little editing, both for typos and for pacing/ flow of the story.
