**This is the second book in the bestselling RockStar series. Lucy and Jesse continue... **
You know how people say they woke up in Vegas married and you're like, how the hell could that possibly happen? Who does that? Well, us apparently -- and the press is having a field day...
Let's not even get started on the topic of my mother. Then there's my grandpa wanting to meet my new husband -- that's not scary at all. On top of that, we're heading out on tour and I'm a nervous wreck -- factor in the fact that Jesse's newly changed marital status doesn't seem to be an issue for the groupies. Nothing deters them. Not even the fact that I'm standing right there when they proposition him.
I can handle the press, my mom, and even my grandpa. But the women who are ruining my current mood of "happy", well, they've got another thing coming. It's time to put these women in their place because nobody messes with my happily ever after.
Disclaimer: This is not a dark romance. There will be minimal angst or drama. There will be lots of laughs, frequent dropping of the F-bomb, and crazy monkey sex.
Anne Mercier is the USA Today and International Bestselling author of rockstars, billionaires, new adult, and mature young adult romance. She was born and raised in Wisconsin and still lives there today.
When she's not writing she enjoys reading amazing books, listening to music, keeping up on all things Avenged Sevenfold and Milo Ventimiglia, chatting with readers and friends, and binging Netflix series.
This book continues right from where Falling Down ended. Jesse and Lucy are now married and here comes the craziness of the life along with the mafia drama (yep that's right mafia)
We had the groupies, the broken hand, and now this.
I enjoyed this one. Hilarious!! Total hotness!! Jumping in to the next one
*ARC gifted by the author in return for an honest review*
I LOVED IT! Like really loved it.
The book continues from where Falling Down finished. Jesse and Lucy are married and in for a wild ride, the paparazzi, the fans or 'groupie whores' to be exact and the life long Russo-Mazzini rivalry.
“I’m a firm believer people don’t know what they want until they get it” Anne you really need to send a copy to M.Shadows. Like really. He would feel so special
This time Anne has incorporated quotes at the starting of every chapter which will make you think ( totally opposite of what she wants) They actually summarize every chapter, every feeling.
"I've got ninety-nine problems, but a bitch ain't one."
There are some very 'philosophical' quotes. Like the one below...
"Love is friendship that has caught fire. It is quiet understanding, mutual confidence, sharing and forgiving. It is loyalty through good and bad times. It settles for less than perfection and makes allowances for human weaknesses."
The author stays true to what she said. She wanted a book with minimal angst and she delivered that. Cheers! The humor and songs were AMAZING! AMAZE-BALLS! HILARIOUS! and we all know who is clown of the group... You don't? Well its none other than....
Xander Mackenzie also known as 'Xan my man.' This guy is the class clown. He is funny, charming, sweet, and completely adorable.
“Are y’all fuckin’ in there?” Xander asks, sounding country. “Maybe,” Jesse answers with a smirk. “Will it be time for Lucy’s meds again soon?”I look at the clock. “In an hour. Why?” “Then you've got an hour. I like stoned Lucy.” Lucy smiles softly. “I’ll be there, Xan my man.” “Come hard, Luce my goose.” “Xander,” she chides. “Too far?” he asks with a smile in his voice. “Just a little bit.” “Still.” He pauses. “Come hard and come often, oh married ones.” His voice trails off.
This time around we even heard the 'voices' of Kennedy and Ethan. Oh but wait! There is this huge chunk which is shocking. I didn't even see it coming! I mean Damien and Cage are.... Sorry. Evil, I know but for that you will have to read the book. And lastly, Mama Russo. How can one forget her? She is truly an amazing mom who would do anything for her children(s)
The second half of the book is really interesting. If you are looking for a book that is angst free, where the protagonists are completely in love with a crazy ass Italian family and equally crazy friends then this is the book for you.
I knew a guy named Xander I guess you could say he was a sex fiend Met him in a hotel lobby Masturbating with a magazine He said how’d you like to waste some time And I could not resist when I saw little Xander grind
I received an ARC of Blush and was so excited! Thank you random drawings!! The story starts where Falling Down ended. It was so refreshing to read a story that was not angsty and had obstacles every step of the way for the couple. Jesse and Lucy are truly made for each other and are my favorite couple out of all of the books that I have read. They have a few minor bumps along the way but what couple doesn't? It just makes the relationship all the more real. All of characters interact with each other in a way that compliments everyone and makes the story what it is. You can feel how comfortable they are all with each other while reading.
Anne Mercier has a way of making you truly feel what emotions the characters are experiencing that many author's are not able to achieve( Like when Jesse begs Lucy's forgiveness in Falling Down after he messed up for example. You felt that shit). She nailed it again with Blush and I'm sure it will be the same in the books yet to come.
Blush would NOT have been the same without Xander (even if he did sing Bieber). He is so funny and has a way with words and actions that will put a smile on your face every. single. time. ""Aww, fuck me," Kennedy whines. "Now he's got chicks who'll encourage this shit too. There's no stopping him now." " Truer words my friend...
The book had twists and turns that I was not expecting but that's what made it all the better because I wasn't expecting those. It's refreshing when a book isn't predictable and this one is not predictable in any way. I am amazed at how Anne Mercier comes up with all of these storylines. She is one super talented lady. I can't WAIT for Sera's book and all the books to follow.
Blush and Falling Down are on Tour!!!!! This book picks right up where the last one left off. After a drunken Vegas wedding, both bands are hitting the stage hard....and there are lots of surprises headed their way! These two groups are more family than band mates and this leads to some hilarious times on the tour bus.
Jesse, lead singer of Falling Down, has a history of being a.....well lets say he was a playboy and leave it at that. His fans are having a bit of trouble coming to terms with his marriage to Lucy, and Jesse is having a little trouble showing them where that line is that they aren't supposed to cross. This leads to some drama, and some hard feelings. Lucy loves Jesse, and she knows that Jesse loves her too. She just isn't sure that she is good enough for him. But Jesse knows that she is perfect for him, he just has to figure out how to prove it to her.
Jesse, Lucy and their two bands, along with a whole host of "family" run into groupies, crazy family, and more than a few surprises, good and bad, as they set out on the BFD tour. As I read about their antics, there were more than a few times I found myself laughing out loud, gasping in surprise, or crying a couple of tears. I love these guys, and can't wait to find out what comes next!
I was pulled right into this story. The story flowed well I was kept interested in the story. I read it in one sitting. The story has laughs, pain, anger, suspense, and heartbreak. If you have not read Falling Down (Rockstar series #1) I would recommend reading that book first.
This is more of Lucy and Jesse’s story. Lucy and Jesse are touring and married. Jesse it trying hard to be the man Lucy deserves. Lucy loves Jesse but sometimes she believes he makes the wrong choices. Can the relationship weather all that is coming their way? Crazy groupies around every corner they really turn the relationship on its ear. Crazy attack that could in fact end everything that Jesse holds dear. Who could want to hurt them and why?
I loved these characters and also the side characters. There are some tear filled moments and some anger filled moments in this story. But all in all I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.
I liked this one, but sort of can't believe my one complaint...too much sex. Odd I know from someone who reads erotica. Yes Lucy and Jesse are in love, but come on we didn't need sex, sex, sex. They would fight, then make up sex, there were stage fright nerves, sex to make them go away, the day ended in Y, sex. There was some good story going on, but I had to wade through the sex scenes to get to them.
I loved how Lucy staked her claim on Jesse after the first show. It needed to be done as did the verbal smack down that Jesse went through. I loved how Lucy seemed to pick up strays along the way, the seemed to fit in with the big group and how others in the group are starting to pick up Lucy's ways of finding great additions to the team. I found myself intrigued with what happened towards the end, not how Lucy was hurt, but more with the "dark" side of Lucy's family coming out. There is so much that can happen here and I can't wait to see what it is.
Oh my Holy God!!! I love love love Jesse and Lucy and their friends and their story. I love that I did not think it was possible to top the amazingly hot scenes in Falling Down. I was happily proven wrong and enjoyed every tingly minute of it.
I like how the Mafia family was brought into this book (I won't say how). We got a hint about them in Falling Down but didn't really get a lot to go on.
There was a LOT for Jesse and Lucy to deal with during the BFD (Blush-Falling Down) tour. It almost seemed like it could be too much, but they are Jesse and Lucy. The can make it through anything.
I will now patiently (NOT) wait for the next book, Amplify, to come out to see what's around the next bend for this group of people I have grown to love. CANNOT WAIT!!!
If you loved "Falling Down", then "Blush" will not disappoint. In the sequel we see a softer side of Jesse emerge. This book shows a more softer and caring side to the rocker star and his band mates. What I loved most about this book is that it shows that it takes more than blood to make a family. It does not disappoint and I can't wait for the next one.
Hot, sexy and angsty reading, just when everything is going well so things go a little haywire. Loving this rock star series, I love the banter between the two groups of characters and how much they have become one family. The background of Lucy and Sera's family and never knowing when something will crop up from that adds a little suspense into the mix, that balances out what could possibly become a bit overly sweet in the romantic sense so I'm glad we have that. These books are well written and have a great flow, the consistency is carried on throughout with no gaps, unexplained jumps or wrong names in wrong places, which is great with so many characters. The story holds your attention and has you wanting to race through to find out what's next. I am actually reading the first box set, all these books are available in small sets which can make a long series work out a bit cheaper to buy, though I feel the series is worth the outlay. More than happy to recommend these books.
Audiobook provided by publisher for review. No remuneration was exchanged and all opinions presented herein are my own except as noted.
This reads like Young Adult but with sex – lots of sex, at ridiculous times. I didn’t feel it was sexy sex.
Like the first book in the series, the characters in this one are young, and immature. They equate sex and love. One character gets upset when her boyfriend doesn’t do something that would, in any arena other than a novel, be either a source of teen angst or seen as a simple mistake. But then she forgets to mention her family is mafia and, “oh yeah, btw, we’re in the middle of a long-standing feud. Oh hey! Duck!”
But poor Jesse isn’t the only one lied to by omission. Lucy finds out some stuff that has been kept from her too.
And, then there’s the hiring of every and any person they think might be helpful, including an ER doctor, and a cook for the tour bus (see face palm icon above).
And, when needed Grandfather swoops in like the deus-ex-machina necessary to rationalize a great many coincidences and make sure the entire world is safe for his nepoti (grand-children). I found Jesse’s response to the grandfather’s threats against his family absolutely chilling.
Before I got to this book, I had asked for the next in the series. If I had not already asked for it, I probably wouldn’t go on with the series. While there is some attraction to the story, this book was so filled with coincidence and ridiculous circumstance that it made me think of the old Josie and the Pussycat series on TV in the 1960s; but I suspect the cartoon band was more realistic than this.
I very rarely just put people off of a book; “like” is very subjective and doesn’t require apology. Ambivalence is the same. This is, I guess, okay as filler between the better rock and roll romance series I think are better reads and values. But, in this case I say, if you want to read rock and roll, start elsewhere, anywhere. This is just too outlandish, even for Rock and Roll. Just because something is light, and genre fiction, doesn’t mean it gets a pass on quality.
I loved this book! It was full of suspense, laugh out loud moments, seriously sexy times, and has two bands that are taking the world by storm on their brand new tour. Get ready for another crazy ride with Blush and Falling Down on the tour. And follow Jesse and Lucy as they adjust to being married, on tour, and having to deal with the world, specifically Lucy's family. And this book has quite a few twists that will shock you to the core.
This is the next installment in this series and features our favorite couple Jesse and Lucy. Waking up married in Vegas and having a wedding at the chapel attached to Denny's was not how Jesse and Lucy saw their relationship going but they make it work. Going on tour for Blush and Falling down, the band is ready to make it big, including Blush who has something to prove. Stalkers, fan girls, groupies, whores, sluts, haters.... it seems everyone wants to tear Jesse and Lucy apart but they are having none of that and want to prove to the world they can make it through. Get ready for a crazy ride with Jesse, Lucy, and the band members of Falling Down and Blush and they take the world by storm.
I love, love, love Jesse and Lucy. In fact, I love everyone in both bands and in this book. They all just work so well together and click. But Jesse... he is so effing sweet. He started out with the cockiness but he has grown to such a loving, sweet, kind and caring man who would do anything for Lucy. And Lucy, I love her! She is awesome, spunky, feisty, and totally kick ass!
~*~ I was gifted a copy for an honest review~*~ Oh, what can be better than rock stars and more Jesse Kingston. The second book in the series absolutely rocked. Jesse, Lucy and the whole gang are back. They are one fun loving group. The tight bonds they've created makes for a great, funny read. The Falling Down guys can be so funny, it's great to get some laughs while reading. While in Vegas, Jesse and Lucy get married. It is so hilarious the way it went down. I was laughing so hard, it was epic. I love that Lucy and her sister Sera's family is part of the mafia. For me personally I love rock stars and mafia books, so I was in heaven. A bit of fun and serious drama ensues. Grampy Russo is awesome. Jesse and Lucy deal with being married and having to still deal with those crazy a** hard core groupies that go to any length to get a rockstar. It makes me love them all the more to see them try and really work through issues. The ending is unbelievably awesome. I'm sure a bit scary for both Jesse and Lucy, but I think more so for Jesse. I so can't wait for the next book to see what happens and is I store for this great set of characters. You fall in love with them so easily they feel like family.
I'm not sure where to start, the book all around was amazing. I for one am a picky reader, the book has to pull me in right at the beginning and hold my interest and this series has done that. Blush from cover to cover has you not able to put it down. in two books I have grown to love each and every one of the characters, they make you snort in quiet rooms and look like a crazy person as well as feel sad as well as mad. I have come to realize that every second of reading the book I switch around on who my favorite characters are and I have yet to find one I actually don't like. this isn't one of those books where everything is butterflies and rainbows , they all have their own issues and as you read you get to watch them all grow and deal with their problems. I highly recommend this series and book to anyone who loves to read. Anne has done an amazing job and I for one can't wait to read more from her..stay tuned fokes you're in for a ride and I promise you will love every second of it.
This is a very fun series. The more I read the more I like these rockers. As Falling Down and Blush head out on tour, everything seems to be rolling along smoothly. But as the old saying goes, if it seems too good, it probably is, and it's not long before the bottom drops out of all that happy. Lucy is learning the hard way that her sexy rockstar husband, is still having a hard time saying no to his female fans, and Lucy having had enough takes care of it, ending up in the emergency room. She also learns that her success may have more to do with her "family" connections than her talent, people she thought she knew, who she thought were her friends and family, turn out to be acquaintances of her well connected family. Lucy's cousin, Sera, who is more like a sister, has been keeping big secrets from her. An old family enemy makes himself known again, going after Lucy. And it seems there is more than one unexpected pregnancy. I can't wait to see what comes next.
WOW! This follow-up book to Falling Down was amazing! Blush continues with Lucy and Jess's story while on the BFD tour.
It is full of fun, sex, mystery, betrayal and Xander dancing (which is my favorite part). Lucy and Jess now navigate married life along with the entire Falling Down/Blush family, as well as "The Family" (The Russo's).
This book was so much fun that I am now in the midst of reading it again, because I read it so fast just so I could see what happens. Prepare to read it in one sitting, and be prepared to dance along with Xander, whom I might add is my current book boyfriend.
Anne has done a fantastic job with this follow-up book. The music and quotes throughout Blush have added a wonderful touch to a rockstar book. I love this series so much and I highly recommend you read The Rockstar Series.
Blush is book two in the Rosckstar series and it continues on with Jesse and Lucy with full steam ahead with all the fun, craziness and lots of dramaaaaa that happens when your on a tour bus with the famous Rockstar group BFD. You are going to have lots of laughs and gasp's while reading this book and HAWT steamy "monkey sex"...lmao...and just wait for the bus bathroom scene...holy smokes!!! Sighssss...I just love Jesse and Lucy and I cant wait to read the next book in the series A Very Xander Christmas (Rockstar, #2.5) Xander is a hoot and I just cant wait to see what crazzzy shenanigans Anne Mercier has for us in this book..lol
I gave this book 5 Rock on Stars.. Just loving it!! : )
I was given this ARC for an honest review. I would like to start out by saying Thank You Anne Mercier for sharing your talent with us. When I started this book it was very hard to put down. I love the chemistry between Lucy and Jesse. It is amazing! Very hot sexy and a fun read. Xander is also one of my favorites! Anne Mercier has special magic on paper(Ebook) her writing will make you feel the characters! I highly recommend you to read this book (series) and meet some these characters! Anne Mercier will leave you definitely wanting more. 5 beautiful golden stars! Anne Mercier you hit a grand slam out of the park with this book!
M-m-m... I do love me some Jesse Kingston. This book was fun and kept me smiling :) There was just a bit of drama toward the end that leads into the next book which, of course, keeps your interest piqued! And then there was Xander... good lord... Let's just say that Xander's exceptionally entertaining and that Anne certainly knows how to write a charming character and leave it at that lol Looking forward to Amplify!
Never a dull moment with this series. It seems long, and I don’t want to be reviewing every book so it just keeps getting better since I don’t like to delve into too many books in a series, but I’m actually enjoying them.
More drama. More laughs. More sex 😂. I can’t get enough.
Loved this book, I really enjoy Jesse and Lucy's relationship. I can't wait until the next one comes out. This is a must read. Anne you are doing awesome! keep it up.
Dreams do come true just ask Lucy. When she marries her teenage rock star crush and he loves her like no other and your career that you only dreamed of is taking off like gang busters and you are surrounded by people who love you and make you laugh, what could go wrong?! Well how about keeping your husband’s groupies in their place and being the granddaughter of a mafia boss brings its own kind of trouble.
Another great story on Lucy and Jesse with all of the sexiness you’d expect, great concerts, humor, and unexpected suspense.
Once again Lucy and Jesse suck you into their world. The drama with the groupies and the famiglia gives more to the story. We see their relation develop even more that they were married and on tour. Xander is working his way into my heart too. Another awesome read.
Book 2 of the series and i am so hooked! this Series is a MUST OWN for anyone who likes ROCK AND ROLL!! Jessie and Lucy and the gang are all back and . what happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas!
I LOVE THIS SERIES. What happened in Vegas??? I will never tell. But, Anne will in this fantastic book. I read more of the story of Lucy and Jesse…. YESSSS!!! What I loved just as much, we learn more about some of the other characters in the book. I really love Jesse and Lucy, but I think Zander is coming out on top. There is just something about him, something haunting him, hmmm, got me wondering. Back to Blush. Well, Lucy is still stealing and collecting employees, another from Cage, and now from the hospital. Yes, Lucy needed to go to the hospital, all because of the skank after the concert when….. Stop, NO SPOILERS. Let us just say there was blood and Jesse deserved so much more than he got!! But, wait, I said no spoilers… I am loving this series more and more the more I read. I love these guys, yes, they are rock stars, yes, they do some of what we think they may do, but not what you are thinking. Darn, I said no spoilers. Then there is grand pa, let us just say he is a VERY big force to be reckoned with…lol. But, he is family…. I loved watching Sera and… Nope not going to say. I am just glad that I can open “A Very Xander Christmas 1” and “Amplify” to find out what is going to happen next. Thank you, Ms. Mercier and the CRC group for gifting me with a copy of this much-loved book for my honest opinion. Thank you, MM for bringing me into this phenomenal group!! Thank you for reading my review. Kudos Ms. Mercier on a FANTASTIC book/series!!! I cannot wait to read the next, “A Very Xander Christmas 1” and “Amplify”. Darn, who am I kidding, give the whole series… I am totally binging!!!!
