My Belly

Rate this book
“The day I met her, I finally understood why storms are named after people.”

This is the most devastating love story you'll ever read, full of longing, haunting memories that feel like fever dreams, and a brutal love triangle that will leave you obsessed while aching for the characters at the same time.

Siam, a rookie wrestler who is about to get called up to the main roster thinks he's got it all figured out—until he meets Bella, a legend in the making and the love of his life. What seemed like a simple love story that started with a stolen glance, quickly escalates and explodes.

They spend years tangled in each other; trying to let go, moving on, yet secretly reliving their past every single night on the porch... because they still live under the same roof.

Throughout all these years he rises for her, bleeds for her, disappears inside the myth of her because he's nothing without her love, he doesn't know how to exist in a world where she's gone.

And when it all comes crashing down—through betrayal, pain, and death—he still calls her by the nickname he made for her when they fell in My Belly.

I absolutely loved this book. I’ve been searching for a book that felt like watching WWE, or took place within professional wrestling and I was so excited when I found this. It truly felt like reading a memoir or watching a wrestling documentary and I found myself completely immersed, so much that I made Bella on 2k.

I actually cried so hard. The relationships and matters dealt with in this book were heartbreaking, yet it made it feel realistic. I almost quit half way through because I wasn’t sure if there would be a happy ending. I loved Sammy so much.

My only critique is that there were lots of grammatical errors. Usually that is a big reading turn off for me, but I loved the story so much that it really didn’t bother me.

Anyways this absolutely wrecked me.

"The day she died the sky looked more beautiful than ever, I think they knew an angel was going to arrive that day."
I will never recover from this book.
