I was really excited to read this cookbook because I've been following Hannah for awhile now. I love the nostalgic charm throughout the book. Of course the recipes are wonderful and I think I will always refer to this simple cookbook full of lovely home cooking.
Remember walking into your grandmother‘s house and the aroma of a fresh baked pie, biscuits or a Sunday roast would greet you when you opened the door? That’s what this cookbook is like. “Stand by Your Pan” by Hannah Dasher is an ode to our mothers, grandmothers and great grandmothers. There were no takeout boxes on the counter or yesterday‘s pizza sitting in the fridge. No, there was always a fresh baked treat or wholesome meal on a carefully curated dinner table. This cookbook is chock full of scrumptious recipes such as Collard Green Dip, Watergate Salad, Sissy’s Shepherd’s Pie, Garlic Cheddar Butter Biscuits, Busy Girl Green Beans, 1977 Banana Pudding and so much more, all displayed in ‘70s inspired cookware. The author’s humor and sass is sprinkled throughout with tons of tips and tricks. Everything from how to set your table for entertaining to what to store on hand for surprise guests is included inside with a generous smattering of love. A perfect throwback gift for a GenX’er, baby boomer or any other generation looking to try something new that’s a nod to another era with some southern flare. I couldn’t help but think what fun it would be to create a meal or be a guest at Hannah Dasher’s dinner table. Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for allowing me to review an ARC of this cookbook.
first "met" Hannah Dasher on tik-tok and her 70's country/hippie style and simple comfort recipes drew me in. Imagine my delight when I saw she had a cookbook! Stand By Your Pan has 100 recipes that anyone can make easily and affordable. There are some staple recipes that will delight new to the kitchen cooks as well as some tried and true southern comfort faves. Plus the names of the food will just plumb tickle ya, honey. 5 out 5 stars

I absolutely adored and fell in love with this cookbook! To me, it was more of than just a cookbook. It's a prose that doubles as a life line fill of recipes that are perfect for families, get togethers or just a cozy night in with yourself. I really couldn't get enough of this book and I would love to have it in my repertoire for future readings!
I would love to thank the author, publisher and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC book in exchange for an honest review.
Interesting cookbook! The photos were simply beautiful. I had to read this book just because of the title. So many wonderful recipes. That said, these are “comfort” recipes. Don’t go looking for anything healthy in this cookbook. But holy moly there are some fascinating recipes!
Netgalley ARC- Cute gimmick with a collection of retro recipes. Nothing new or exciting other than the author if you follow her. Obviously, there's a niche for this kind of thing. Well written and easy to follow so could be a great gift for a budding cook.
Beautiful retro vibe with gorgeous photos, this cookbook was a joy to read. I have no idea who the author is but she has a great sense of humor. Some of these recipes are similar to meals I ate as a kid.
Thanks to Netgalley and Harper Celebrate for the eARC in exchange for my honest feedback
