This was an interesting [though sometimes dull and repetitive] look at the creation and life of Jack Daniels Whiskey, including all who and what are involved with the business now.

I mostly enjoyed this [I have never been a 'Jack' drinker, preferring Southern Comfort myself, but the history of this brand was intriguing to me] book and I will say the narration was very good. Where the book lost me was with the last chapter [that was over an hour by audio] - what a waste of time [it was so deeply boring IMO]; that part was very disappointing and left me rather meh about the book overall.

You'll like this book if you love the Jack Daniels Brand, are interested in whiskey and one brand's history, or just want a cool coffee-table book [the photos were absolutely stunning; they totally kept this from dropping into a 2 star review].

Thank you to NetGalley, Richard Thomas, and Cider Mill Press for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I began reading this book through NetGalley and found it engaging and informative from the start. Unfortunately, I was unable to complete it within the required timeframe and reached approximately 35% before my access expired. Even so, the portion I read provided valuable insights and served as a helpful refresher of what I previously learned during my visit to the Jack Daniel’s Distillery.
I’m pleased to share that I was later able to regain access and continue reading. After initially missing the deadline, I assumed I would not have the opportunity to finish the book, so this was a welcome surprise.
My interest in Jack Daniel’s is both personal and longstanding. I was first introduced to it through my father, who preferred it with water. Over time, my own tastes evolved—from beer to Southern Comfort and Coke, and eventually to Jack Daniel’s and Coke, which has remained a favorite of mine. I also had the opportunity to visit the distillery in October 2019, an experience that deepened my appreciation for the brand.
In this book, the author, Richard Thomas, offers a thorough exploration of the distillery’s history, processes, and traditions. I particularly appreciated the depth of detail, which enhanced my understanding and enjoyment of a whiskey I have long admired.
With the book scheduled for release on April 28, I look forward to potentially revisiting it in audiobook form to fully complete the experience.

I was able to continue reading this ARC and managed to finish it on April 5th of this year. However, it would not recognize the actual dates read since they were before the relase date of the book. I enjoyed the book very much. I found it very informative and a wonderful tribute to my favorite drink.

This is an interesting book about how Jack Daniel’s whiskey is made. I had visited the distillery in the past year, so it was easy to follow the parts of the book that were specifically about the distillery. It was difficult in the ebook format to read some parts because the book has inserts about particular people and parts of the distillery that interrupt the flow of the ebook. The author is very knowledgeable about JD and whiskey tastings that help the reader understand the tastings he is describing.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for letting me review this book. If you’re a Jack Daniel’s fan; this will be right up your alley. I enjoy reading food history and this was an interesting read. The book starts with the history along with photos dispersed throughout the book. It also tells how the torch has been passed with each new master distiller. I like how the author includes photos of the whiskey process and tells a bit about each step. This was a very thorough book on Jack Daniel’s whiskey and how it’s progressed throughout the years.

This is a beautifully composed book of pictures and information about the brand. I learned more than I thought I would about the process and the folks that were helming the company. I just wish it wasn't so repetitive in places.
