Sinful Temptation is a gripping forbidden romance that had me hooked from the start. I read on Kindle while listening on Audible, Eliza Nyx and Lucas Troy made this book absolutely captivating and absolutely to die for. Nina is promised to Matteo, but sparks fly with his father, Enzo, and what starts as duty turns into an electric, emotional love story that’s impossible to resist. I loved the age gap, the forbidden tension, and the way Enzo sees and supports Nina, helping her believe in herself and her dreams again after prison. Their chemistry is off the charts, while Matteo’s attempts to win her over only highlight how deep her connection with Enzo really is. This is not just a romance, it’s about passion, redemption, and finding love in the most unexpected place. I couldn’t get enough!

Sinful Temptation is the second book I’ve read in the Kings and Consorts series, and it pulled me in right away with its strong start and darker mafia themes. Poppy St. John really knows how to write fierce, headstrong FMCs—and Nina is no exception. Her story begins behind bars, framed for a murder within her family’s organization, only to be pulled out for an arranged marriage… with the wrong man. Because the real chemistry? It’s with his father. Yep—this is an age gap, forbidden romance with a mafia twist.
The narrators, Eliza Nyx and Lucas Troy, were perfect again. They also narrated Twisted Devotion, and they continue to bring intensity and emotion to these dark, broody characters. Lucas especially nails the older, commanding Italian mob boss energy of Enzo, and Eliza’s voice gives Nina that perfect balance of fire and vulnerability.
What held this back from a higher rating for me was the pacing. The story starts off strong and engaging, but like the first book, it feels rushed toward the end. The emotional development turns from insta-lust to love a bit too quickly, and I just wanted more depth in the resolution. Still, the premise, the characters, and those narrators kept me hooked—and I’ll definitely keep going with the series.
