A solid empirical survey of the medical science behind preventing heart attacks. I liked everything in the book but the chapter discussing statins. I think the verdict is still out on the long term effects of using statins. Anyone who trusts the pharmaceutical industry's products early on is a sucker and fool. It is always best to wait and see the damage drugs cause and that might take 20 or more years before the truth is revealed.(2015 REVIEW)

I read this book again in 2024 and it is definitely dated - still conveys some good basic knowledge, but there are so much more resources in cardiology now, that this book needs to be revised.
