4.25 stars. Zayn is an assassin, he kills drug dealers, it’s his personal mission. His next victim will be Keaton Burnett aka Moose. Moose is a massive guy, very strong, and sometimes he fights for money.
Zayn approaches him at a bar, flirts with him so he will be an easier target.
Keaton has a hard life, he works and also takes care of his addicted mother and his little five-year-old sister. They live at a trailer park where no taxi driver loves to pick up a customer. Keaton’s self-esteem is low, his last ‘boyfriend’ put some cruel words in his head.
Meeting Zayn, who insists they should drive, in his Maserati, to some place so he could f*ck him, changes his life. Keaton loves it when a guy takes over the reins. But can he trust Zayn?
Zayn is not stupid, Moose is a big guy with a big heart, and while he’s strong and fights like a bull, he’s more innocent than any guy Zayn has ever met. The guy is broke and takes care of his family.
In no time Zayn is head over heels, and wants to take care of Keaton, only the guy is more stubborn than is good for him. Zayn is nervous about what Keaton will do when he understands Zayn is a killer.
A lovely story, while this narrative sounds dark, and there are indeed some darker parts, I found it more on the lighthearted side. There’s a Daddy/boy dynamic to find and the pov’s are from both guys.
Ginny, the little sister, has a great part in this story.
The writing was well executed, and the whole story was captivating.

DNF at 80%. There's not much story here and I'm bored. The daddy kink stuff kinda came out of nowhere and I was surprised by how comfortable both of them were with it so fast, considering it was new for both of them. Zayne never felt like a real person. Seemed almost super-hero perfect with the money, the tech, the fighting skills etc---kinda boring as a lead character TBH.

The Love Obsession by Ki Brightly and M.D. Gregory is part of the multi-author universe Bloody Desires. Zayn Westmoreland is a man on a mission. He is a serial killer who focuses on getting rid of drug dealers due to family history. He receives Keaton’s, aka Moose, name as a drug dealer and decides that Keaton will be his next victim. However, it soon becomes clear that Keaton is not who Zayn was told he was. I loved Keaton and it was so interesting to watch him open up (very slowly) to Zayn. He doesn’t believe that he is worthy of someone sticking around. I loved these two together and I loved how it fit so perfectly into the New Gothenburg universe as well as the multi-author universe. I love everything that these two authors write and this one was very enjoyable. I look forward to reading what they come up with next!

Another great read. These authors always hit it out of the park for me. You definitely want to mind the triggers, but be ready for a good time. I just adored Moose. He was everything I wanted him to be and more.

Keaton and Zayn
Interesting take where the bottom is the larger of the two. Don’t see that a lot and it was definitely different to see how the author addressed. The dark nature of the story is good and it would be interesting to see how the story plays out in the end.

Gotta say, Zayn fell hard and he fell fast. As soon as he realized that Keaton was innocent, he was all in. And who better to take care of you when your whole life suddenly implodes?
Keaton transformed through this book many times. He was able to let go of his frustration and his anger and let his walls down. He allowed love and trust into his life and was all the better for it.

MD Gregory and Ki Brightly are back with their latest book, The Love Obsession. It’s part of the Bloody Desires series, a multi-author collection featuring serial killer daddies and the ones they’ve claimed as their own. This book is a dual POV dark romance (though not overly dark) with two MCs from opposite sides of the tracks. It’s got some praise kink, a little possessiveness, rich/poor, and the cutest little sister ever.
Moose, also known as Keaton, lives with his alcoholic mom and his adorable little sister in a rundown trailer park. He works hard to take care of them and earns extra money in Uhlig’s fighting ring. He comes across as very “gentle giant” at times, far more sensitive than you’d expect. His relationship experience is minimal, and it hasn’t gone well for him…until Zayn.
Zayn is an engineer with an interesting hobby - he kills drug dealers. His history has led him down this path, and Keaton is his next target. However, when he meets Keaton he realizes his last victim lied. There is no way Keaton is a dealer. But in getting to know Moose, he finds something better than his next kill. Zayn is strong, focused, the perfect counterpart to Keaton’s innocence.
I loved both of these characters. Zayn had the perfect amount of dominance while still listening to his partner’s needs. Keaton was just a teddy bear who I wanted to hug. I loved the evolution of their relationship from hookup to more. The spice level was great. It always is in a Gregory/Brightly book. Zayn’s desire to make both Keaton and Ginny happy and keep them safe was beautiful. While the book has darker subject matter, the relationship between the two MCs is lighter and very low angst.
The book itself was well written. It flowed nicely and didn’t feel rushed. Loved the mentions of other places and faces in the authors’ larger world. Can’t wait for whatever they write next.

Set in the New Gothenburg world this book is as advertised (read the warnings) and I loved it. On top of being an MM romance between two very different people it’s also a spot the character from other New Gothenburg novels. Lots of fun cameos and I think I will have to read it again to catch them all. What fun!
The two guys seem so different at first, but these two writers are great at fitting people together. Keaton is an easy guy to like as he bumbles through life at the beginning and don’t we all feel like that sometimes. Zayn is as nice as a serial unaliver could be, but mostly only to keaton and then Keaton’s sister Ginny. The way he is compelled to look after them and give them what they each want and need is actually sweet which would seem to be odd, but when you find out why he does what he does it makes perfect sense. I really liked the way Ginny was written as this hyper, cute and frighteningly smart kid. Especially in the way she realizes that Keaton isn’t as clever as her and needs her help and protection, yet she is still all little girl and not a small adult.
The three make a lovely family together by the end.

Zayn has his next target in sight, he kills drug dealers for funsies, but “Moose” doesn’t seem like a drug dealer and the attraction Zayn feels is not expected. Keaton is nicknamed “Moose” due to his size, and he fights to subsidize his logger job but he really starts to enjoy being taken care of by Zayn as his whole world falls apart and Zayn is there to pick up the pieces.
This story moves quickly from targeted hook up to a Daddy/boy relationship which Zayn steps into easily to deal with his growing feelings for Keaton and Keaton’s little sister. An interesting mix of really dark themes with an almost instalove relationship that grows between Keaton and Zayn. Keaton is smart to trust his instincts in not trusting Zayn right away but Zayn’s absolute commitment to being with Keaton reeks down his walls fairly quickly. I enjoyed both these characters, how Zayn is dangerous but sweet when it comes to Keaton and his sister, and how Keaton recognizes his strengths and continues to survive when beaten down. 4.25

I'm really enjoying this series and The Love Obsession was a great edition to it. This was dark...very dark but it had some light areas that I couldn't help but love. Keaton and his family...living under such heartbreaking circumstances ...that is as real as poverty can get ...and in comes Zayn...with all the flashiness of being wealthy but deadly all the same. Their introduction was based on lies but when the truth comes to light, some things get better but still a cloud of darkness. There is some angst...a little kink (I love me some daddy/boy kink)...a lot of violence with murdery gory scenes(not for the faint hearted)...hot chemistry and eventually love. Zayne with his obsessive love and Keaton with his needy love...they really compliment each other. This dark romance was entertaining and if you read any of Ki and M.G. Gregory books, you will see some characters make cameos which is always refreshing to see. Loved the HEA and highly recommend to read.

I adored how Zayn quickly fell Moose (Keaton). Despite his intial interest and reason for meeting for Moose, he finds Mooses innocence and the fact that Moose has the same reaction to drugs that Zayn has as attention grabbing, something hes never had before, he found a person and relationship worth fighting for
Moose has literally done everything he can to keep both his little sister Ginny and his mother safe and fed. He abides by the rules of the trailer park, keep your head down and dont bring attention to yourself. Hes been verbally abused by someone he trusted and took those words to heart, expecting the same attitude from Zayn because he obviously has money.
Seeing these two come together, opening up and letting someone in, working together, raising Ginny.... I beyond adored them.

Zayn cannot tolerate drug dealers and has made it his mission to eliminate them. When information brings him to Keaton who is known as Moose, he can’t deny the attraction he feels for the large man. But, something feels off to Zayn and as he spends time with Moose, he begins to learn who he is at his core and Keaton emerges from his shell.
When trouble comes to Keatons door , Zayns secrets catches up to him and it seems that he has found himself a family that can accept all the parts of him.
This a slow to start story but once you get through the first few chapters, the characters draw you in. With an adorable little girl added in the story to add in some fun, this is a good Daddy/ boy, assassin read overall.

Zayn has set his sights on Moose and thinking the worst of him. Yet it soon comes to light that the truth is very different and Zane must decide on what he will do now.
I loved seeing these two find their way. Their attraction burns up the pages and I loved seeing their relationship take shape. Zayn may be a dangerous man but once he opens his heart there is no stopping him. Zayn sees the worth in Moose and is determined to make him see it. Their story moves at a good pace and pulled me in right from the start. I also really enjoy how all the stories and characters in New Gothenburg intertwine with each other.

OH ..... WOW........ The Love Obsession is Absolutely Brilliant another amazing addition to the Bloody Desires Series and I could not put it down I love Zayn and Keaton together they realy need each other Zayn serial killer of drug dealers and as been given Keaton's name as is next victim that is until he gets to know him and realises it's not true he's innocent Keaton's a big teddy bear who just wants to loved for himself and Zayn's the daddy to do it for his boy and little sister to keep them safe it's simply amazing recommend so much.
OH ..... WOW........ The Love Obsession is Absolutely Brilliant another amazing addition to the Bloody Desires Series and I could not put it down I love Zayn and Keaton together they realy need each other Zayn serial killer of drug dealers and as been given Keaton's name as is next victim that is until he gets to know him and realises it's not true he's innocent Keaton's a big teddy bear who just wants to loved for himself and Zayn's the daddy to do it for his boy and little sister to keep them safe it's simply amazing recommend so much.

Zayn is a serial unaliver who thinks Keaton is his next victim drug dealer. When he finds out he's innocent, he's already attached to him and Keaton needs help with his little sister as he looks for the dealer who helped his mom die. It's so dark, so violent and filled with painful carnal relations as Keaton is into that. Most of Ki's and M.D.'s books have criminal elements but this one is a doozy. I loved Keaton's future tombstone!

I am loving this series! This book was a great addition to it! Moose 🫎 (Keaton) is a low class brawler trying to help raise his sister the best he can when Zayn comes only with plans to unalive him! Well things don't go according to plan and Keaton and Zayn end up together :) My only issue is that the daddy/boy relationship seemed unauthentic. just off. like it was forced instead of a more natural progression I guess.
but I did love the story!

This book was so much fun to read. Oh look he's cute but sadly I have to kill him, once I get what I need from him... Keaton and Zayn were fun to read and see how the story unfolded. Ginny and Pandora were great side characters and we even got to see Uhlig and Madam Winters.

This book was beautifully different - Moose is so sweet and cares so much for his sister, even when his mom hasn’t been much of a role model. Zayn has a mission of sorts, going after people who prey on the sick - thankfully he figures out pretty quickly what kind of guy Moose really is. Sexy, action packed and an excellent addition to the NG world!

This was a great standalone in this world. I got my fix of familiar characters! I was definitely more enthralled by dangers and intensity all around. Relationships are always surrounded by ALOT in this world! Moose was a good guy doing what he had too. Zayn was happy to discover this and jumped into protector mode. Tons of spice here!

I really enjoyed getting to know Zayan and Keaton.
I loved their dynamic, and Ginny was great as well.
Keaton is leery, he's been hurt before and won't compromise his sister's safety either.
Zayan isn't interested in a relationship, but he just can't shake how Keaton gets under his skin.
The chemistry between them was scorching hot.
I really enjoyed getting to know Zayan and Keaton.

The first I've read in this series and everything I expected and more. Yes, this was a really dark story. Yes, it was completely worth it. The deeply bad guy becoming a softie for his love/obsession.

5/5 stars. This book was a mess and yet I still loved it to bits. So many things didn’t make sense - how easily the character fell into their dynamic; how easily they accepted things that should’ve rattled them for chapters on end etc. And still, I loved every chapter. The MCs were so good for each other. I like what they brought out of one another. Such a unique pair of MCs and the resulting unique relationship.
Had all my guilty pleasures — a bigger bottom, masc MCs, a complete psycho. So yummy. 🤤

The Love Obsession is part of the multi-author Bloody Desires series and can be read as a standalone. This is a daddy/boy dark read with Moose(Keaton) and Zayn and I do recommend you check the CW. As with all of their work, this is well written and made me fall in love with them.

I love seeing bad men go soft and squishy for their loves. It’s always so much fun! Keaton was just a simple man wanting to be loved for himself and Zayn finally saw it. I adored Ginny. She was cute. This sounds like it could be the start of more stories..l hope so…

Not my favourite of the series but still enjoyable. I didn't really buy the relationship or the Daddy/boy dynamics but the serial killer aspect was a lot of fun.
