Can he keep his head in the game long enough to pass basic instruction? He has clues to his sister's murder, but must stay in the program long enough to test his theories. He's at the wrong agency to investigate the murder of a federal agent.

Perry can only push himself so far. He needs to mourn sometime, and start coming to grips with the fact that his world changed. Perhaps there is something he needs on a small planet called Quantico II, in the city of Glynco II.

This is another great read by this author, which weaves elements of science-fiction with romance, and keeps you turning the pages until the end. Not to mention, the plot and characters are fascinating, and described so well you can easily imagine you're right there in the world, standing beside the characters while events unfold. Unfortunately, it's let down by the need for more editing, which is why I can't give this one the full five stars. It's still well worth the read though.

With Arson, C. S. Boyack presents us the intriguing story of a man who loses his dream job, starts training camp for a different job while trying to solve his sister’s murder. This story is cleverly elaborated, has a good flow, a certain humorous streak, focuses on Perry, his acquaintances and adversaries. C. S. Boyack describes his characters’ looks in enough detail, you can imagine them clearly. I was drawn into the story – unnoticed in the crowd – held my fingers crossed for Perry. I could easily envision the characters and locations. I had a pretty good time reading Arson. It is an enjoyable read.

This is a book to read again.

Perry Wolfe is an elite space fire fighter, and comes from a long line of fire fighters. An accident on one of the jobs leaves him uninsurable and he is forced to seek alternative employment. On top of all this, his sister is murdered. Perry sets out on a quest to find her murderer.

This is a great sci - fi book, with bit of romance and lots of humour. The world building, character development, plot, and pacing are all done well. Unfortunately, the narrative is filled with errors. Spelling mistakes abound, with "waived" instead of "waved", "Vane" instead of "vain", and "set" "sat" "sit" all mixed up and used in the wrong contexts, as well as missing words, missing punctuation, etc. There are also a few places where the POV jumps around without indication. The action is delayed time and again with overuse of devices such as "started to/began to", and a lot of filter words are used. There are also inconsistencies in spelling in numerous places, and internal monologue switches between being in italics, to being within quote marks just like dialogue.

This novel needs a further edit and a thorough proofread. With further work, I can see it achieving top rating with no trouble at all. As it stands, it gets a very soft 4 out of 5 stars. Lovers of sci-fi, with a dash of murder/mystery, will love this book.
