In my opinion, Volume Three is definitely the strongest entry in the series. This final volume places its main focus on Inwoo’s loss of taste, which has been the most compelling aspect of the story for me from the beginning. I really enjoyed delving deeper into Inwoo’s deeply troubled relationship with food and how closely it is tied to his mental state. The way his emotional struggles affect his eating habits feels raw and painfully honest.

One of the strongest elements of this volume is how it addresses the reality that loved ones, even with good intentions, can sometimes worsen the struggles of someone dealing with mental health issues. Jiho and Inwoo’s journey throughout this volume feels uncomfortably realistic. The author does an excellent job showing how mental health challenges impact not only the person experiencing them, but also those around them. I especially appreciated Jiho’s accountability and self reflection, as he comes to recognize how his own selfish need to make Inwoo “better” quickly was actually causing more harm.

I also really liked how the conflict between Jiho and Chung was further developed and ultimately resolved. The resolution felt healthy, mature, and ultimately the best possible outcome for both characters.

Lastly, I adored the side couple in this volume. I will admit that I found their chemistry even stronger than that of the main couple, even if their storyline is less dramatic. The pacing of their relationship felt natural and well-earned, from their first meeting to the moment they start dating, making their story incredibly satisfying to watch unfold.

This really did show a more realistic view on homophobia and the fear that comes with coming out. They both had their faults and moments of poor communication, but it really is such a well written manhwa. Between overcoming childhood trauma and navigating strained familial relationships post coming out. I love them
