The tables have turned. Now Jackson’s body type is the ideal, and Shevi is stuck doing the dirty work. She doesn’t mind, though. They’ve won. They’ve made it to the greatest city in the world. The problem is Jackson. He insists on being the rebel, even here, where he is a member of the highest class—a driver on the great racetrack that surrounds the city. Why can’t he just accept this good life and be happy? Because it isn’t good. Nothing is. The only way to truly win is to completely lose, even if it means taking everyone down with him. Only a rebel can reshape the world. Only someone crazy enough to try it would dare take the risks in a high-speed arena when everyone else is out to get him.
