Easy read. Some good tips on making yourself a better runner. Good variation of topics. Also Flo-Jo talks about her life as a runner

THis book describes a no-nonsense yet, not tyranical, way of running and starting to train your body for improving running. It gives great advice about form, nutrition, safety and much more. It is sooo unfortuante and sad that Flo-Jo is no longer with us, but her intelligence and love for the sport remains alive in this book.

I really liked how simple it was to read and gave me lots of good information on starting and keeping up on a running program. I find myself very motivated to start walking more to build into a running program. I liked the constant reminders to set reachable goals, since I tend to be a very goal oriented person anyway.

I'm kind of obsessed with running a marathon someday, so I got this book to see if there was a special way to run that I wasn't doing. There's not, but I did learn a lot about injuries and how to prevent them so that will be useful.

Starting to train to run a half marathon so I thought this would be helpful in getting me started. It was okay with some good information on injuries and picking out the right equipment. It was okay.

The book gave some great basic information to start running by walking first and how to know when to start running. I also found the information about selecting shoes and understanding your foot type helpful. I didn't really think the commentary by Florence added to the book.

Really probably 3.5 stars. An older book, but still plenty of good info. Definitely geared toward newer runners, but again plenty of good info. I did find it amusing that in the weight training section, her weights seemed to only be 5 or maybe 8 lbs, tops.

I found this book to be okay, but really didn't tell me anything new. It covers the basics, and there are a few tips on improving form and speed. I guess I expected more with Flo Jo being an author.

It was a generally good book for beginning runners. I learned a lot of good things about technique. Beware the book is pretty old.
