What's a girl to do when she's looking for true love but can't seem to find it on Earth? She applies for an alien husband, of course!
But when Fiona receives two for the price of one, both of them decide she's their fated mate. Saddled with this "clerical error," the soft-spoken Fiona has to help her territorial alien husbands get along when all they want is to tear each other apart.
Shathar left his grocery business behind to find a new life on Earth—and a bride he could love and call his own. But now he must compete for the title of Fiona's husband when all he wants is peace and happiness.
Khesan came from a wealthy family and a strict military life. Knowing he's found his forever in Fiona, he’ll use all his drive and determination to show he’s better than Shathar and earn her love.
But only one of them can stay, and it will be up to Fiona to decide who. How can she choose when sparks start to fly between all three of them?
Lyonne Riley writes super steamy monster romance, fantasy romance, and sci-fi romance. She lives in the middle of nowhere with her spouse and two dogs, writing spicy fairy tales.
I am so glad that Lyonne Riley took her time to get this one to where she was happy with it, because it was perfect. I really liked the first one and I think the series as a concept is incredibly cute and fun, but this one had a different level of depth that made it more than just a fun alien romp. I really liked the slow-burn romance part of it, especially, as Fiona would say, before her husbands also became husbands. The tension between Shathar and Khesan was SO GOOD and it really complimented their relationship with their human wife; it made their acts of service and care that much more sweet? If that makes sense. Their devotion to HER is what they end up bonding over and it was very satisfying to watch unfold.
Plus, whewww-boy… the steamy scenes were freakin fab. I know that some people will complain about the realism she incorporates for the DP scenes, especially discussing prep and what not but for this trio’s dynamic we needed it! We needed the time and care they spend making sure things are going to go smoothly. Its necessary to the bond building and the feelings catching, and I think she does it in a way that keeps it sexy which not every author can do. I have a lot of respect for the way that she writes sexually explicit content, but especially when it comes to the more delicate intimate acts and So I Married Two Aliens is a really good example of her talent in that regard.
I could go on and on about all the things I enjoyed, but I will leave it here with the recommendation to read if you enjoy alien romance, triads, or are just in the mood for something sweet~
Thank you, as always, for the ARC, Lyonne! It’s a pleasure to read and review for you 💙
“For a moment, everything feels right with the two of them at my side.”
What a fun book! This is a really sweet low-angst time! I am a sucker for anytime that we get to see an alien learn to kiss. I especially loved getting to watch our two alien gentle-beings go from competitive disdain to lovers. It was such a delicious journey and so fun to see the push and pull between them. Every time one of them would notice something positive about the other I would kick my feet in the air and grin like a maniac!

ARC Review of So I Married Two Aliens by Lyonne Riley, book 2 in the series of interconnected standalones, releasing February 27th.
The burn was a touch on the slower side which is not my personal favorite, but it certainly gave time for the characters to learn about each other in the first portion of the book.
I was gifted a copy of this book by the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you!
Thank you to Lyonne for an e-arc in exchange for review and for blessing me with yet another monster romance banger
Fiona is tired of only being "good enough" for one night stands and booty calls. When the human population has dwindled to predominantly women following an viral outbreak, her options are limited. So when her bestie Amara, finds her perfect guy in Alien, Roth'kar from a distant planetary system - via the Galactic Matching Programme, she decides to take her chances.
However, life is never simple, and when a alleged clerical error lands her with not one, but TWO Arshurian husbands, who have both decided she is their fated mate, she has to make a choice. She has thirty days to decide who stays and who goes back to the home they have left behind and in that time she has to make sure that the super-territorial males can tolerate one another long enough to make her decision.
However they certainly don't make it easy for her. Shathar left everything behind - including his grocery business at a chance of finding happiness and he is SURE he has found it in the sweet human his napolo has indicated to be his mate. The only thing standing in his way is Khesan. Khesan is a cocky ex-soldier from a wealthy family - and he too finds his napolo responding to Fiona; but the older and frustratingly attractive Arshurian male is in the way.
Both males show Fiona a side to them, that she cannot help but find endearing - when they aren't tearing each others scales out. And she has to make a decision within thirty days to choose which husband stays, and which one goes. The choice becomes even more difficult, when the males begin to find themselves becoming less irritated by the others presence and more... interested in possibilities.

I am a Lyonne Riley stan for life - I am positive she could more or less write anything and I would absolutely devour it.
Let me start by saying, I was not expecting to end up enjoying this one as much as I did the first. But rest assured, by the end of the book I was kicking my feet and having the best time ever - the start of the book may have been a different story and let me explain why…
Khesan.
Fiona was the sweetest FMC - she was just a darling. I really ached for her desire to be loved and to find that special someone who wanted to do more than call her up for a one-night stand. And since her mum died, she has never felt more alone in the world. The Galactic Matchmaking Service is her ticket to finding that love. I will say I would have loved to see more development/focus on her and her own emotions as I feel her own monologue was at time overpowered by the two MMC’s.
Out of the two MMC’s, I adored Shathar. He was a sweet, caring and just all round genuine male - who has clearly spent his life on the grind and working for everything. Coming to earth was his shot at settling down and finding someone to love and put his energy and heart into nurturing. He literally left his entire livelihood back home, selling his store and picking up everything and moving to an entirely new planet - all to find love and companionship. I loved his monologue and his interactions with Fiona and just how sweet and thoughtful he was. He is the hot, older man and I was obsessed with him.
Khesan started as his polar opposite. He grew up and was raised, privileged and while he did spend the last years of his life on his home planet as a solider - seeking purpose, he has not lost the cocky, self-assured nature awarded by his families wealth. While I can appreciate the stakes (being that only one of them will be able to stay and receive Earth residency) he immediately sets out to sabotage Shathar and seemingly pays more focus on that task rather than wooing Fiona. Which is only really recognised when he see’s Shathar’s efforts. I truly wasn’t for Khesan until there was clear chemistry building between the MMC’s - at which point the cockiness seems to temper slightly.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the concept of competing MMC’s vying for the FMC’s attention - but I think his focus was far too narrowed so his perspective was on the competition rather than pleasing Fiona. This isn’t a critique of the writing - because as always Lyonne’s writing is a delight. More so the character type being not my vibe. That being said, when they began working together and inevitably catching feelings for each other; this is where I became committed and started to warm up to Khesan. Their dynamic and efforts to make Fiona happy - especially when they worked together was what MADE the storyline for me. From their joint Christmas gift, to their completely awkward and slightly embarrassing joint mating dance at the club, I was delighted.
Their joint, and individual relationships with Fiona were achingly sweet and their complete lack of knowledge as to earth customs, gave them each an element of innocent cluelessness that can only be endearing.
One thing that Lyonne is GUARANTEED to absolutely smash (no pun intended) is the SPICE. And this book is no exception. While obviously being completely fantastical (their reptilian aliens smashing a human) their communication of and preparation for sex is spot on, realistic. The shift from the MMC’s viewing each other as competitors to teammates truly made the spice 🤌🏻 perfect. As can be expected, the alien… equipment is the perfect amount of strange and the threesome and DP was 🥵
Overall this was SUCH A FUN READ! While the bickering and competition was slightly grating at first, the last half of the book more than made up for it! I loved the dynamic between Fiona, Shathar and Khesan and the ending was perfection 💖 I highly recommend to anyone looking for a slice of life, alien romance with a polyamorous trouble dynamic. I am so excited for book 3 - promised to be Marguerite’s book! I am also intrigued to see whether there will be a book 4 with my suspected pairing.

None of the people who interest me want the same thing I do, and so we’ll have a one-night stand, and then they call it good. I’m sick of being a hookup girl.” 👽”Then my eyes are drawn to the two aliens. They’re distinctly reptilian—that’s the best way to describe their faces, which are humanoid in shape but with rounded snouts and broad nostrils. Their bodies are covered in scales in shades of green, and they both stand on two legs and have two arms each. I thought I might have to contend with more limbs, like Amara did when she met Roth’kar, but it looks like the biggest difference between us is they each have long tails trailing along the ground. They appear to have five fingers and five toes on their bare feet, but at the tips are claws. Their ears are pointed, with hair running between a pair of ridges on top of their heads.” 💜”When I approach, the two aliens take deep breaths, as if smelling me. Up close, I notice one alien is more of a teal color, while the other is a deep emerald. The emerald one has deeper lines around his eyes, as if he’s older.” 💚”He nods. “Perhaps this meeting is fortuitous after all. I believe, Fiona, that you are my fated mate.” I stand still, not quite sure what this means. By his declaration, though, it sounds significant. “Liar,” snaps the younger, bluer alien. “You cannot possibly be her mate.” The first one arches his eyebrow. “And why not?” “Because…” The second alien inhales deeply. “Because she is my mate. I can smell her, and I know it to be true.” 👽”“Arshurians have a special mate bond. It’s like, well, an imprint. They believe it’s fated by the gods.” 💜”I’d simply assumed he was headed to Earth for the same reason: to meet a human bride of his own. Not my human bride. Particularly not a human bride that my nose has already recognized as my one. My only. My fated mate.” 💚”Though Shathar is intimidating, and certainly an attractive Arshurian himself, I will prove my worth.” 👽”“I knew that the answer to my prayers did not exist on Arshur,” he goes on. “When the Frahma came talking about his program, I was certain that was my destiny. Where I would find my one, my only, if I went to Earth.” He shrugs. “Perhaps it was a path set by the gods, and I heard them.” 💜”“I’m sorry. It is difficult to watch him be close to you. My heart knows that you are mine, and he feels like… an interloper.” Shathar growls. “You are the interloper here.” 💚”He sighs. “What good is a business, a whole life, if there is no one to share it with? It is hard on our world now to find a mate. The odds became smaller as I grew older and met no new females. I decided I would rather be happy with a mate than keep running my store and watching the world go past me.” 👽”“You’ve said that. What does it mean, exactly, to be fated mates? You said you could… smell it?” He nods. “There are other signs, too. My physiology has changed.” “Changed? How?” Shathar keeps his eyes pinned on the road ahead of us, but I see his throat bob as he swallows. “It is… of a sexual nature. A natural response to finding one’s mate.” 💜”To be seen. To be felt. These are the things I crave, have craved for a decade now. This was the reason I came to Earth in the first place, so I would no longer feel alone, and I’m ecstatic to have found what I was looking for. Fiona is charming, so sweet and genuine, that I want to protect her. Treasure her. Keep her soft even if the world has hard edges. I will be her barrier.” 💚”“Why do you two keep insisting that?” I ask. “That one of you is lying about being my fated mate.” “Well, traditionally, Arshurians only have one fated mate. So if I am fated for you, then he is lying. It’s simply logic.” 👽”“But what if… what if you both did bond with me?” “It is unlikely,” Khesan says in a guarded tone, “but I suppose it’s possible. There are tales of bonded Arshurians who have more than one mate, but it hasn’t happened in a long time. Many, many years.” 💜”Shathar steps out at the same time, his jeans a darker, earthier color than mine. It fits his body flawlessly, and once again, I am frustrated by how attractive of an Arshurian he is. He might be older, but it doesn’t show in the shape of his legs or rear end. I bristle, thinking how difficult it is to compete with this.” 💚”So I lean in closer and Shathar does, too, until our faces are touching. Then we’re both in the frame as the camera keeps snapping. Shathar’s cheek is fiercely warm, and for a moment, I smell something strange. It reminds me of Fiona’s scent, the scent that wafted off her when she stepped into the room back at the spaceport.” 👽”Once she sees the truth, she’ll be mine, and Khesan will get sent back to Arshur. That, oddly, gives me a sick feeling. I have also grown quite used to him, and at least for a few days, we got along. But there can only be one of us at the end of this trial marriage, and I am intent on it being me.” 💜”My heart thuds wildly in my chest when I realize what this means. One of us will have to leave at the end of this, according to Earthling law—which would lead to a life without the other half of our souls. Once an Arshurian bonds to their fated mate, they will never stray, never find another lover. Whichever one of us loses will be sentenced to a miserable, lonely life back on Arshur.” 💚”He is her mate. It’s natural that he would want to be intimate with her. And yet, knowing they are in here doing it without me fills me with rage.” 👽 “When he’s in front of the drawer I want, I simply put my hands on his waist and move him a few inches to one side. His gaze snaps to mine, but he doesn’t rebuke me. I did it without thinking, but… it was instinctual to touch him.” 💜”I think how beautiful both of them are, sensual and connected.” 💚”Sometimes, at moments like that, he touches me by accident—and wherever his scales meet mine… I remember it for hours afterward. What if he touched me elsewhere? What would I do?” 👽”But now we are even closer together, and the scent of mate is getting stronger. Khesan sets a hand on my shoulder and strokes it with surprising tenderness.” 💜”Now, as we sit alone together under the stars, I can smell it again: the scent of mate. And yet Fiona is inside, far away. Still, it remains, and I think that at last, it has clicked in my mind what it means.” 💚”“The truest happiness I’ve found is being with you and Fiona. Sleeping together, cooking together, loving together.”” 👽 “Mate scent,” he says, aghast. “That’s what that is. But it’s… different than Fiona’s.” I nod. It is the same smell, and yet also its own. “Is that you?” He shakes his head, disbelieving. “Have we—” “Mate bonded?” 💜”“My husbands are husbands,” she sings to herself as she tastes her food. “Oh my god, this is amazing. What the hell? And you can cook like this, too?” She dramatically falls back in her chair. “I’m a goner.””
I had a really fun time with this book. Even though it’s the second in the series, it works perfectly as a standalone because the story focuses tightly on Fiona and her two alien husbands, and enough context is given so you never feel lost.
Compared to other stories by this author that I’ve read, this one felt much lighter and more enjoyable overall. The conflict isn’t driven by heavy drama or taboo, but mostly by the emotional dilemma of Fiona having to choose between two very different aliens mates. It makes for a low-angst, cozy reading experience that’s easy to get immersed in.
One thing to keep in mind is that the sci-fi side of the story stays very basic. You only get the information needed to move the plot forward, and the worldbuilding definitely takes a backseat. The narrative is centered on the relationships and character dynamics rather than on the science-fiction elements.
One of this author’s biggest strengths is definitely her ability to write spicy scenes in a relatively small number of pages, and this book is no exception. The intimate moments aren’t just there for shock value—they actually help show how the characters interact, reveal their personalities, and hint at the dynamics they will develop later on.
Even though the story focuses heavily on this aspect, it still remains an entertaining read overall. That said, I did feel that Shathar and Khesan received more space and development than Fiona. Their rivalry, personal insecurities, and gradual shift from competition to understanding were some of the most engaging parts of the book.
One element I particularly enjoyed was the MMF dynamic. Going in, I expected a more classic MFM setup—two men simply competing for the same woman. Instead, I really liked how the relationship evolved into something more mutual, with all three characters developing genuine feelings for one another. Personally, my favorite part was watching Shathar and Khesan slowly realize that they could also be fated mates to each other. Seeing their tension transform into affection and cooperation was both sweet and, honestly, even more exciting than some of the moments involving Fiona.
As for Fiona, she felt present and relatable, but at times somewhat surface-level. On one hand, it’s easy to envy her situation: suddenly having not one, but two devoted alien husbands. On the other, I would have liked more insight into her emotional growth and decision-making. There wasn’t a hugely complex conflict to process, but it would have been nice to see her take a more proactive role—like researching her situation once she realized she cared for both of them, instead of waiting until the last-minute, very “classic happy-ending movie” plan.
My main "disappointment" is that the final portion of the story felt a bit rushed. I would have loved to see more of their new dynamic beyond the intimate moments—how they navigate everyday life together, communicate, and build their relationship outside the bedroom. An epilogue showing their “after” would have been especially satisfying.
Overall, though, this was a very entertaining, low-angst alien romance that made me smile and definitely blush toward the end. It’s a great pick if you’re looking for something light, spicy, and strongly focused on character relationships.
Huge thank you to the author for the eARC! So grateful I got to dive into this fun, steamy alien romance early.
I absolutely loved this installment in the Mail-Order Alien Grooms series!
Fiona was such a sweet FMC, but not at the cost of her being a pushover. As someone who was looking for a genuine connection, done with no-feelings hookups, Fiona was definitely in her trial marriage for the hopeful long haul. I loved watching her battle with her feelings for each of our guys who couldn’t be more different, and how she definitely wasn’t going to let both of them slip away without a fight. She loved teaching them new things and giving them new experiences on Earth, which really signified how important their experience was to her. I appreciated that even when she got frustrated over mishaps, she definitely recovered quickly and didn’t let the small things shake her for too long. She was perfect for this program in my opinion 😊
I absolutely loved both of our MMCs, Shathar and Khesan (or, as I referred to them, Silver Fox and the Kid 🤭). Shathar was definitely the older, hardworking type who was ready to settle down and enjoy the rest of his existence with the right person. Khesan was the young, soldier type who was strong and tall but also just as excited to settle down with his mate. Watching these two go from spitting at each other in anger to trying not to argue in front of Fiona to catching feelings for each other was my favorite part of the book! I loved the small gestures and thoughts that started to creep up on them as they spent more and more time together. We knew from the beginning that Fiona would end up with at least one of them, but I was so glad to learn that our MMCs would end up together too!
I loved all the formal dates, but also really enjoyed the down time these three spent together. From unfortunate kitchen situations to thrift store adventures, it was fun watching these three interact as individual pairs as well as a group of three. All of our characters had fantastic chemistry with one another, both inside and outside the bedroom, so it was wonderful to be along for the ride!
Speaking of which, the spice was SPICING in this one y’all!! WHEW! Definitely leave time in your reading schedule for a cold shower 😉
Lastly, I’m going to need a Zono + Kendall story STAT!! We don’t know a lot about either of these characters, but I sure hope we get to explore that roommate situation!
Thank you to Lyonne Riley for the eARC! The thoughts and opinions expressed above are honest and my own.
Genre: Adult Paranormal Romance Spice: 3.5/5🌶️ *spice ratings are relative to similar books in the same genre*
The Catalog: MMF, human x alien match program, arranged marriage, accidental double husbands, trial marriage, rival aliens competing to be chosen, soft enemies to lovers, fated mates, teaching him to kiss, alien peens, MMCs come to earth / fishes out of water
Synopsis: Fiona has seen what the Galactic Matching Program has done for her bestie, and now she’s ready for her own chance at love. However, when she goes to meet her trial alien husband, she’s shocked to discover the agency accidentally sent her TWO! Now with the daunting responsibility of getting to know them both so that she can choose, Fiona doesn’t know what to do, but she’s up for the challenge.
Thoughts: This series really owns my heart. It is so much fun to see the common “fish out of water” trope tipped on its head. Instead of a human woman fumbling through an alien planet, we get to see how male aliens adapt to life on Earth. I am the biggest fan of how this sets up so many opportunities for adorably hilarious culture clashes and misunderstandings.
From the moment Lyonne teased the concept of this one, I was already totally on board. TWO alien husbands competing for their wife’s attention, both hoping to win her heart? Yes, please!! Khesan and Shathar were so adorable with their hissing, posturing, and expressive fans. I loved how their instincts demanded rivalry, and all the ways this set them up to eventually become partners. I can’t be happier for Fiona and her enviable situation 🤣
Y’all also know how much I love reptilian alien MMCs 🫠
Sometimes you just need a super feel good romance that will make you smile as often as clench your thighs, and Lyonne delivers every freaking time.
This was such an enjoyable alien romance with great poly rep too.
There was a fated mates trope, a fish out of water trope, and some fun polycule/throuple spice.
This is an alien husband book that takes place on Earth and I liked the way that the alien males had to learn all about Earth stuff. The two males butted heads a lot at the beginning and it was really entertaining reading about them fighting with each other while also being so dumb when it comes to understanding simple things. It made me want to chuckle and roll my eyes at how ridiculous they were being.
Fiona was a great FMC. I liked how kind she was to her new husbands and how she cared for both of them even though she had to choose between them. Her friendships were also so great and super sweet! I did get curious about what exactly her job was and if she had any hobbies but her personality definitely shone through the pages of the story regardless.
Christmas and New Years takes place during this book so if you're a seasonal reader you can absolutely read this in December!
Also the spice was SPICY 🔥
Overall I had a great time with this story and I would love to read more in this series.
I'm not usually one for MMF dynamics but of course I trusted Lyonne Riley like I always do and this book really made me reconsider that! What really won me over was the dynamic between Fiona, Shathar, and Khesan - the accidental two-husband situation could have been chaotic and full of tropes I don't care for but it was really entertaining and surprisingly emotional. Both of them claiming her as their fated mate while refusing to believe each other, to the bickering, to the slow shift from rivals to...well, IYKYK! I also really love when alien romances lean into them misunderstanding human culture and our way of speaking and Shathar and Khesan trying to navigate those misunderstandings and miscommunications was genuinely funny without feeling forced or cliché. And of course, the smut delivers as always! Overall, this was a really fun, low-angst, slightly chaotic but cute book that just works. I went in unsure about the pairing but came out totally converted!
This has easily become one of my favourite Lyonne Riley books. The story was awesome and I loved the addition of characters from Amara and Roth’Karrs book, I really hope we get to see Marguerites story next.
This one is full of tension both sexual and physical for a while and then that moment comes and it’s just pure bliss all the way through, this book was really good and the spice was even better. I can’t wait for more alien arranged marriage
Wow wow wow. This has become my favorite of the series so far. Fiona signed up for one alien husband but ended up with two, who in fact cannot stand each other. But thing that Khesan and Shathar is they both believe that Fiona is their fated mate. The next 30 days between these three is quite a while ride it takes some times You may or may not guess. All I can say fun times ahead.
Just like the first book in this series, this was really fun! Spicy, sweet, emotional, and at times funny all wrapped into one.
I received an e-ARC of this book. I am leaving a review voluntarily, and it is my honest opinion.
It took me longer to get into this book than the previous one, but once I got a feel for the characters, I had a great time following along on their journey. Fiona was so sweet and likeable and the alien guys were so fun in their attempts to impress her, their rivalry, and their path to realizing their attraction to each other. The story felt believable and flowed well.
Lyonne Riley's writing style was pleasant as always, and the spice was so, so delicious. I also really liked the different activities the throuple did throughout the book, like the bowling, the decorating, the New Year's rave — all really fun, and great variety.
This book is great read if you're into sweet and spicy alien romance, bi4bi4bi why choose / love triangles turned polyamory, fated mates, and mail order alien spouses.
It can be read as a standalone, but reading the previous one gives a bit more context on some side characters, and I can only recommend checking out both.
Fates mates x 2!? yes please. Lyonne absolutely knocked this out of the park. it was cute & funny and I loved watching these two argue before realizing what was really going on. the spice was so hot. another hit for this series!
"I came here for one alien husband. I think you have me confused with someone else." - Fiona
Fiona decides to follow in the footsteps of her friend, Amara, and take the plunge! Applying for the Galactic Matching Program and hoping to find her forever, even if her forever may look a bit nonhuman.
Only when a "clinical error" occurs, she finds herself with TWO alien husbands!? And she has to pick one of them?! Through many trials and errors Fiona finds herself falling for both of her husbands. Frills, tails, and all. Though both are claiming Fiona's their fated mate and accusing the other of lying. Will this be happy, don't have to choose ending? Or will the guys make the choice easier for her with all their bickering.
I was excited for the next book in the series and the fact that there are two aliens! I'm a sucker for a why choose romance. You do not have to read the books in order! Brief recap of what's going on, why aliens are on Earth, and why there is a matchmaking service. We do get to see Amara and Roth'kar again but no spoilers for their story and how they came to be!
For me I was more invested in the guys and their story. Just going to jump right in, this being my honest and personal opinion you may not agree with, but reading is very much subjective! I love Riley's works and have found great comfort in the reads and writing but Fiona's character felt a little flat for me. In and out of her POV chapters I just didn't really connect with her.
Shathar and Khesan I adored! They do bicker a lot and some of their squabbles are ridiculous, but I mean they're aliens. Behaving according to their culture and race. I respected the fact that they didn't instantly get along or even consider sharing Fiona. The organic flow of it all and how they had to overcome things.
Several times I wanted to climb through the screen and hug Shathar! Khesan being younger and bolder but still showing signs of a gentle and compassionate heart. I also appreciated in one of the major turning moments that they didn't kick the other when they were at their lowest. The two are complete opposites but I could see that slow burn happening and confusion by it all!
This read does have some language but mild at best. There's mention of a mother passing two years ago and reopening a room that had been locked. Some grief and situations triggering it. All and all a lighthearted read focused on enemies to lovers and a woman who just wants forever!
"Don't tell me. You chopped down one of my neighbors' trees, didn't you?" - Fiona
A big thing I love about Riley's writing and this series is the differences in human vs alien. How Shathar and Khesan's translators work but they give the textbook definition of things. No Urban Dictionary or mention of figures of speech. Makes for great comical moments. The guys competing with each other backfires in the best way! They help one another grow and get more comfortable living on Earth and caring for Fiona. We do get romance, slow burn, and angst! This may be a spoiler, but the husbands become husbands! So MFM, MM, MMF action.
I cannot wait for the next installment and to see if maybe Margie is going to have an alien HEA! This read does have a very happy and sly HEA. Now excuse me while I go catch up with Gazargo to get Mexican food and play phone games!
Enjoy the fun read with drama, alien misadventures, and three POVs. Don't forget to give the author some stars!
Thank you Lyonne Riley for sending me an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. I'm having the best time of my life being part of the arc team!
This is lowkey my first five stars of the year, and I have so much to say about it!!
We follow Fiona, who signed up for the Galactic Matching Programme after her friend Amara found her true love with a guy from another planet. Fiona hopes to also find someone who is committed to building a life together and to loving her, so she is completely surprised when two, yes, two!! aliens show up and claim to be her fated mates. So they start trying to impress and compete with each other to make Fiona decide who she is going to choose at the end of the trial, which is going to be a harder choice than the one she expected...
I love the expectation breaking since the beginning, with Fiona trying to figure out how to deal with these aliens who are in love with her from the instant they met, and how they all get together at the end. Because what do you mean the husbands are also... husbands?!!! Also, my favorite moments of the story were when they get to learn Earth customs, try different activities, and experiment with foods. These details enrich the story and make me absolutely obsessed with these alien romances!
The author has a special way of developing the relationships in a way that is not rushed, but also connects perfectly. I adore how Lyonne always goes all the way with her characters and monsters/aliens. Like, yes please, give us all of the crazy things that involve monster romance!! And she definitely does this here, since we see the flourish of the relationship between the three of them, not only Fiona with each one of the guys, Shathar and Khesan but also them with each other.
In conclusion, that's it! I also want to point out how I'm obsessed with the cover of So I Married an Alien and this one. The art style is adorable and it gives exactly the vibe of the story: this funny, crazy, and romantic book with aliens falling in love with their wives. (and in this case, with each other too)
Thank you once again, Lyonne!! And please continue to feed us with these beautiful books, i'm waiting for book 3!
Thank you Lyonne Riley for sending me this advance review copy for free. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
OMG this was so good, and bonus points for some fantastic bi rep!
I loved every minute of this book, and the relationships felt so real. There was a lot of anxiety, emotions, and so much growth for all three of them. It's never easy to discover you are not straight like you thought you were, and this book handles it so well. I also liked that the focus was more on our two aliens than it was Fiona. I really enjoyed watching them get comfortable with their new surroundings and with each other. It had a nice slow burn going on, and it felt so satisfying as they all got closer and closer to each other as time flew by.
Shathar, and Khesan are so incredibly sweet and loving. Even with the territorial posturing in the beginning, they still cared about each other. The age gap for the two Arshurians was really nice. They came from completely different backgrounds as well, one military, the other a simple shop owner. I love that they learned to rely on each other's strengths, and slowly became friends, then eventually lovers as well. I adore how they went above and beyond to learn earth customs, and things like how to cook meals. There were tons of entertaining moments where they got things wrong too. It was a great mix of emotional tension, and humor that had me laughing my butt off.
The spicy scenes were absolute perfection! The time and care taken to do the proper prep for certain activities is something we don't see as much as we should in books. I'm thrilled that everyone was so comfortable, and it made the scenes so nice to read. Certain spicy acts don't need to involve pain to be amazing.
I really loved this, and it was a wonderful cozy read.
Tropes: alien x human • MMF • fated mates • rivalry • mail order groom
Just like book no. 1 in this series, So I Married Two Aliens is hilarious. A little cringe, a lot of LOL!
I love the take on the world, that males are being ordered as mail order grooms, and the women are expected to take care of their needs - such a novel approach, and I found myself here for it! Do note that the males are very, very, very interested in staying, so they do their part!
What really struck me about this book, though, is the character development! It's 250 pages and 3 characters, and Lyonne Riley manages to really let the characters have space to grow and learn. Their relationship(s) keep evolving and changing throughout the book, and it had me completely and utterly hooked from start till finish!
The author also manages a feat I haven't seen often. The male characters each had a clear, distinguishable voice! It was clear who was talking or thinking at every moment. Often, with more than one character of a gender (or non-gender), they become muddled and a bit hard to tell apart from each other at times, but that didn't happen here. Khesan, the young male, cocky, exuberant, a show-off, but deeply disciplined and even more deeply devoted. Shathar, the older male, full of himself, set in his ways, with a superiority complex, but steady, self-sacrificing, and wanting only happiness for those he cares about.
The only tiny letdown was the ending. It was sort of easy, compared to the struggles of the journey of the book.
This book is for you if you are in the mood for a funny, yet engaging romcom about a clerical error and two mail order grooms who each want the bride for their own.
I adore this series so much! Still enjoying the mail order spouse gender role breaking. How exciting to trial two husbands! With tails!! I love when tails add to the personality of the character. It was interesting to watch Khesan and Shathar learn to get along while noticing each other. The looks that held meaning that they didn’t even realize they were giving. Fiona was frustratingly realistic at times. I didn’t like her reactions to some of the things the guys did (dances, fighting). She was a flawed, realistic human which definitely added value to her character, but there wasn’t development of those parts of the story. I kept hoping that it would be addressed, even off page and we would be told about it or something. Explain why the tree was a bad idea, explain why humans do/don’t do things. Help guide and teach the guys how to function on earth. Khesan was well prepared for earth, while Shathar struggled some. His struggles could’ve been helped with some communication. It seemed like they weren’t even able to communicate with anyone off planet or to make arrangements. I was hoping for some headway on that for Shathar, maybe Khesan helping him. The 🔥spice🔥 wow!! The spice made up for the other things that were missing in the story!! 🥵 I think we lost the other details of the story I was hoping for to spice, three people take more pages! But wow the sex was so good! Looking forward to more from this series!!
So I Married Two Aliens by Lyonne Riley is her 2nd book in the Mail Order Alien Grooms Series. It is Fiona's story (friend to Amara that married Roth'kar in So I Married an Alien). There is a *clerical mishap* and Fiona ends up with two Arshurians Alien Husbands Shathar & Khesan for 30 days. They are Reptilian-like and have tails. (Unfortunately, Lyonne completely missed utilizing tails in ṣëxƴ tïmës.) Fiona was lonely beforehand, not any more. Shathar and Khesan are very different; there is an age gap between them, financial backgrounds are very different and their professions. Shathar owned his own grocery business and Khesan was in the military. Like the first story, the Aliens learn some things about Earth... but they still flounder about and make mistakes. Also like the first story, their women do not really help them acclimate and more concerned about partying, drinking & taking zik. Shathar and Khesan compete for Fiona's attention for about 3/4 of the story... then changes to them having some serious ṣëxƴ tïmës together and with Fiona. Angst runs throughout the entire story of Fiona having to pick only one husband. It definitely could have been cleared up with some detailed follow up questions in the beginning and then the ṣëxƴ tïmës would have been more enjoyable. Long running angst drew more attention. There is an HEA and no epilogue.
I found myself going back and forth on how many stars to give this. It's better than 3 stars for sure. but I'm not quite sure if 4 is right, either. Now take my opinion with a grain of salt because why choose isn't my go to trope. Though I do prefer when 3 become one vs two becoming more so this did fit into the bracket of why choose that I tend to favor. Add onto that the Bisexual awakening and I had really high hopes. Honestly I would have preferred for Shathar and Khesan to recognize the mate bond within each other first and then together decide they wanted to pursue the relationship with Fiona over the way it played out but they all ended up together and happy and that's the goal, right? The bickering got old quick, for me and Fiona, but when the guys came around it was really cute and sweet and I can't deny that the bond they individually had with Fiona as well as the bond they formed together was lovely. All the build-up with the worry about who had to leave just for it to come down to one sentence fell kind of flat for me and I don't usually like a lot of contention anyway but with how much tension came before that point I did expect, I don't know, something? But overall the love story was cute, the exploration of budding relationships was genuine, and it had an amazing conclusion that I think everyone was rooting for, even Margie. 😂
4.75 ⭐️ ARC REVIEW I enjoyed this story. Fiona is a strong female character who knows what she wants and doesn’t back down from unexpected issues. She applies to be a bride to an alien she has never met before, hoping for a relationship similar to her best friend’s. She gets the twist of a lifetime when she shows up to pick up her husband and finds out she has 2. Khesan and Shathar are at each other’s throats from the minute they realize they were given the same bride. They remain trying to one-up each other until one night that starts a change they never expected.
✨Fiona signs up to the Galactic Matching programme, she’s looking for love and is sick of the hookups that leave her empty she’s looking for more.
✨She ends up being fated mates to not one but two reptilian Aliens , Shathar who had his own grocery business and Khesan who’s from a strict military life both leaving their planet to meet her.
✨They both end up competing with each other for Fiona’s affections because of Earths law she can only be married to one. All Fiona wants is for them to get along to be less territorial. Fiona is falling for both of them, she refuses to let one of them go.
✨Shathar and Khesan decide to put their difference’s aside, their time with Fiona is short, they only have 30 days with until a decision is made. They begin to realise that maybe they were meant to find each other just as much as Fiona. And when the sparks fly between all of them, how will she be able to choose.💕
🛸MMF 🛸Enemies to Lovers 🛸Alien Hijinks 🛸Lots of DP
I really enjoyed reading this book especially the rivalry between Shathar and Khesan for Fiona’s affections had me in stitches from burning food and to cutting a tree down thinking that if one was better than the other Fiona would choose them, but what they don’t realise is that Fiona has given her heart to both of them and she’s not going to let them go, her mates 💕

I was lucky enough to get an early copy of So I Married Two Aliens and it was just too cute!
This is a fast-burn AND slow-burn wrapped in an adorably funny ribbon.
Fiona is accidentally assigned two alien husbands due to a filing error, and is tasked with deciding who to "keep", after the 30-day trial marriage time. With both Shathar and Kehsan claiming she's their fated mate, and their alien species being particularly territorial, a host of problems and fights ensue as the trio navigates their fresh marriage.
But fated mates aren't always as they seem and the two hunky aliens might have more in common than just their species and devotion to Fiona.
I loved the dynamic especially between the two husbands, both during their spats and after they start becoming friends. Their confusion of Earthly things is endearing in their reactions and that it brings them closer together.
Fiona puts herself whole-heartedly into the relationships and it is written so well that you really feel for the trio as the story progresses. The spice is SPICE-ING too! Smut readers will definitely enjoy the many encounters throughout the book and not be left wanting!

Why Choose MMF Bi-awakening Enemies to Lovers Intergalactic Matchmaking Fish Out of Water
“What an odd thing, to share a mate with someone. I expected to hate him more, to wish that he would fail, rather than enjoying the sight of him nipping our mate’s neck.”
This was an amusing and entertaining read. Fiona hasn't had luck finding her forever person. After seeing her best friend’s success using an alien matchmaking program, she decides to sign up. Fiona is excited to be matched with an alien to do a trial marriage with the hopes of sealing the deal after 30 days. When she goes to meet her match she is shocked to see not one but two aliens. On top of that they both claim to be her fated mate. Fiona a now has to take both aliens home and pick only one after the trial marriage. Both aliens are convinced that they are Fiona's mate. This causes a lot of aggression and competition between the males. As the days go by the tension starts to ease and they fall into a peacefull routine. Unfortunately its impossible to ignore that only one of them can stay. All three characters in this story were so much fun. Although there is competitiveness the overall story is light and pleasing. The romance between these three progressed so nicely and the steamy scenes were amazing. I definitely recommend this book to those who love fun alien romances.
Oh my goodness, I am absolutely obsessed with the “mail order husbands” – both in this book and the one before it! I just cannot get enough of this incredible story.
Fiona’s decision to sign up after witnessing her best mates’ stunning success with intergalactic marriage just broke my heart – the hope, the excitement, the dreams coming true right before her eyes! And when she learns she’s been paired with not just one, but TWO aliens from the same planet but worlds apart in personality – wow, that’s what dreams are made of! I was utterly captivated by their differences, each so distinct and charismatic, and I loved every single moment of their dynamic.
What touched me even more was seeing these two men, seemingly vying to win Fiona’s love, surprisingly put aside their rivalry to put her happiness above everything else. It’s the kind of love and kindness that makes my heart swell – a testament to what true devotion looks like.
Honestly, who wouldn’t dream of having a man who chooses you, who’s willing to stand by you, and even better, having two who would do anything to see you happy? That’s pure, unfiltered romance at its finest!
This is an entertaining MMF sci-fi romance, it is the second book in the Mail-Order Alien Grooms series of interconnected standalones.
FMC Fiona signs up for the alien mail-order husband program after her friend has a successful match. But when she arrives at the spaceport, she finds not one, but two alien husbands. MMC Shathar, an older grocery store owner, and MMC Khesan, a military man from a well-to-do family. Things get off to a rocky start as both men claim she is their fated mate, and they have only 30 days to figure out who she will stay with.
I really enjoyed this book and read it cover to cover. Fiona is adorably sweet, and the MMCs’ argumentative dynamic is fun without being exhausting, as both genuinely want to keep their mate happy. And they eventually work it out, and ALL get along. It is set around Christmas and New Year, and makes for a cozy winter read.
Another great installment in the fun Mail-Order Alien Grooms series! I can’t wait to see what Riley has in store for the friend group next.
Spice 5/5 Plot: 4.5/5 Writing: 4.5/5 My Enjoyment: 4.5/5
*** I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
OH MY GOD! Lyonne Riley’s writing skills is clearly aging like wine. This book was soooo good and I’m really surprised at how much I liked it, I was a bit hesistant with such an unusual monster mmc(s) and the whole ‘Why Choose Trope’ but this was a five star read for me. I really loved this book, it was so easy to fall in love with all three of the lovers, usually I would find a favorite and not really be excited about the other’s POV but Shathar, Kheasan and Fiona were well written characters, all rounded and truly made to exist within a trouple.
The spicy drama at the start with them fighting to court Fiona the best was so fun, this book was absolutely hilarious, I was constantly giggling at their antics and Fiona’s exasperation. It was very sweet however to watch Shathar and Kheasan realize they were also fated mates, the way they fell in love and into intimacy was wonderful. The smut was out of this WORLD—Lyonne, I can’t believe this but you’ve outdid yourself with this level of spiciness.
This was such a good experience, I’m definitely gonna be checking out more of this trope now…Lyonne truly knows how to introduce one to new worlds 😌✨
The book is about Fiona, a lonely human woman. She signs up for the Galactic Matching Program in search of her forever love, she gets more than she bargained for, two gorgeous, territorial Arshurian aliens, Shathar and Khesan. They are both convinced she’s their fated mate. Thanks to a "clerical error," Fiona is stuck with both of them for a 30 day trial marriage. In that time she needs to determine who she keeps and who gets send back. This was such a delightfully silly, heartwarming, and steamy romance. I really enjoyed the two aliens. It is different and the way it was portrayed was fun! Shathar and Khesan are both convinced about their fated mate, this is excellent written into the book. Their jealousy and rivalry feels very real. Fun little fact, not everything on Arshurian is the same as on earth, so that makes for some funny situations. The way the characters in the book are portrayed works well and I enjoyed all three of them. The comedy in this book was Chef's kiss!
Oh dang! This was so good!! Extremely spicy in the best of ways, with a really cute plot and some adorably funny moments.
Following the success of her friends Amara and Roth'kar's relationship, which came about thanks to the Galactic Matching Program, Fiona decides to apply herself, in the hope of finding her forever person. What she didn't expect was to be matched with TWO Arshurian aliens, both convinced that she is their fated mate.
Unfortunately, Arshurians tend to be very territorial, with Shathar and Khesan being no exception. Thankfully they realise keeping Fiona happy is far more important than their feud, and they start learning how to live on Earth, with some amusing consequences along the way.
I loved the first book in this series, so I couldn't' wait to dive into this one and I ended up loving this one even more. It was cute, fun and the spice was *chef's kiss*. If you love a bi why choose alien romance, like I do, you need to read this.
I received an ARC of this ebook from the author and I'm voluntarily leaving this review.
So I Married Two Aliens Mail-Order Alien Grooms #2 Author: Lyonne Riley Genre: Alien Romance Released: February 27, 2026
Another Lyonne Riley book that I gobbled up like take-out left overs! This is the 2nd book in the Mail-Order Alien Grooms series. Fiona applies to the Galactic Matching Program and ends up with 2 potential husbands instead of one, along with the MMC's Shathar & Khesan we tag along while they spend 30 days together with Fiona. According to earth laws she can only "keep" one at the end of the trial period. Great character & world building at the beginning of the book and when you add the angst and tension between the characters it made the "it's about time" moments that much more delicious. There looks to be a set-up for the couple in the next series and the couple from the first in the series are part of the cast, linking the stories together. Watch for them ridges ladies!
