Ένα παραδεισένιο βιβλιοπωλείο.

Η Κλερ πίστευε πως μέχρι τώρα θα τα είχε πια όλα λυμένα. Αντιθέτως, ζει με τη μητέρα της και δεν έχει βρει τι πραγματικά θέλει να κάνει στη ζωή της.
Όταν βλέπει μια αγγελία για τρίμηνη απασχόληση σε ένα μικρό βιβλιοπωλείο σε μια παραλία στο Μπαλί, κάνει αίτηση χωρίς να περιμένει και πολλά. Κι όμως, παίρνει τη δουλειά και φτάνει εκεί, όπου συνειδητοποιεί ότι δεν θα δουλεύει μόνη της. Μοιράζεται το βιβλιοπωλείο, όπως και το διαμέρισμά της, με τον Τζακ, έναν ωραίο –πλην όμως εκνευριστικό– Αμερικανό, που από κάθε άποψη είναι το ακριβώς αντίθετο από κείνη. Και φυσικά αυτό δημιουργεί εντάσεις και τριβές.
Έχουν όμως και έναν κοινό στόχο: να γίνει το βιβλιοπωλείο και πάλι δημοφιλές. Και στην προσπάθειά τους να το πετύχουν είναι θέμα χρόνου η σχέση τους να πάψει να είναι αυστηρά επαγγελματική...

I’m not sure the title of this book is particularly true. I love an enemies to lovers book but this is not one of them. There’s very little conflict or hatred to make them enemies. They have a few disagreements but they’re all minor and relatively polite. There was also a lack of tension between the two. It felt like they didn’t actually spend that much time together so I didn’t really feel the chemistry. The bookshop is adorable but I needed more Bali. It sounded like you’re usual cosy English book store. The book's saviour is that there are some amazing characters and I adored Celestina. I also think a lot of people can relate to Clare and not knowing what to do with your life. It’s an easy read for summer but not one of my favourites.

Well this book was average at most.
I mean honestly even the title baffles me, beach rivals? Pls they had a small teeny weeny misunderstanding at the beginning that got resolved after maybe 5 pages? And then they were immediately attracted to eachother but apparently were too shy to admit it or some bullshit like that.
Didn’t really like any of the characters, Clare was being tried to be portrayed as very magical but struggling person but to me she just seemed obnoxious and immature and jack? Man jack has the personality of a horse. Dude is mad boring. The only thing I know about him is that he’s kinda shy and a bit weird.
Nothing seemed deep or special and omg Celestine was so incredibly annoying,like she could have done well but no, everyone acted like she was a superior being just because she could wear silk dresses and golden make up. Honestly she was hella annoying and I hated the way she talked.And also who tf says “that’s my fav picture before BCE” I mean BCE seriously? Can’t you just say before I transitioned like damn you really think THAT high of yourself?
And well lastly I just didn’t feel the chemistry between jack and Clare, no banter or anything it was all so incredibly flat and boring.
I mean we got promised “ a slow burn enemies to lovers romcom that will sweep you off your feet”
But all we got was a boring couple with boring personalities.
I think the few good things about this book were that it did have potential, the setting was great but I just can’t understand why they couldn’t give a description that fit instead of being that misleading and also it was a fast read.
I mean I would ONLY recommend this to you if u want to read something really light we’re you don’t want to get invested into the story or the characters.

A really cute summer romance :) Yes, it isn't a literary masterpiece, but I had such a good time reading this. I loved the banter, the setting in the bookstore and especially the love interest. A more dramatic romantic ending would've been great, but hey, I'm also always here for the running after people on the airport trope. All in all, I definitely had a great time reading this book and I'm very glad I read it.
Will definitely recommend and lend it to my friends!

Esta é uma leitura fácil sobre um local idílico e sobre todos os possiveis empregos de sonho, administrando uma livraria fofa enquanto estamos no paraíso.
Não entendi nada da suposta "Rivalidade" entre os personagens, sobre a falta de comunicação e as supostas suposições.
Não há nada neste livro que fale de uma verdadeira Rivalidade, na maior parte do tempo todos se dão bem e trabalham juntos para fazer a melhor livraria. Eu esperava mais ação em relação a esse lado das coisas e o romance fica um pouco aquém.
Mas é uma boa história no geral e boa para aqueles que querem um pouco de brincadeira e um romance num cenário tropical.

Uma leitura perfeita para o verão pois sabe a praia, a descontração e ao mesmo tempo tem um quê de aventura...
Um livro leve, mas que nos faz reflectir sobre a inevitabilidade do futuro, e de qual o nosso papel nas nossas vidas - não é fácil colocarmo-nos em xeque, mas a verdade é que é vital para darmos um rumo a nós mesmos; rumo esse que só pode surgir se nós quisermos e estivermos preparados para tal.
Revi-me imenso do modo de ser e de pensar da Clare, nas suas inseguranças e receios...como é que mostramos que temos valor, quando não sabemos qual é o nosso valor? É difícil alcançar as expectativas que os outros têm para nós, pois na realidade nós só deveríamos tentar superar as expectativas que nós próprios temos para nós.
Deveríamo-nos lembrar de que o que nós queremos, pensamos, desejamos e sonhamos vem antes da opinião dos outros. Sempre ❤️

I have no words - so disappointed!
Anyone comparing this to Emily Henry is wrong!! The writing is very basic and lacking details, you’re never really in either of the character’s heads so it’s hard to connect to them, and please why are you in love with a man you hardly know?!
“bitter rivals” and “enemies to lovers” is a lie, they literally don’t know each other and they just have different personalities. How can they be rivals if they’re literally working together towards the same goal?

Η Κλερ, λίγο πριν αποφασίσει τι ακριβώς θέλει να κάνει τελικά με τη ζωή της, αναλαμβάνει μια δουλειά διάρκειας 3 μηνών σε ένα βιβλιοπωλείο στο Μπαλί. Μοιράζεται το διαμέρισμα και τη δουλειά με τον Τζακ, έναν αρκετά προσγειωμένο νεαρό. Η Κλερ, βάζει στόχο να κάνει πάλι το βιβλιοπωλείο να ανθίσει και συμπαρασύρει σε αυτό και τον Τζακ. Άραγε, θα τα καταφέρουν;
Δύο άνθρωποι εντελώς διαφορετικοί μεταξύ τους, πρέπει να συνεργαστούν. Καθένας κουβαλάει τα δικά του βάρη και δυστυχώς αρχικά, βγάζουν κι οι 2 τους λανθασμένα συμπεράσματα. Οι ιδέες της Κλερ, τη φέρνουν αντιμέτωπη με τον πραγματιστή και οργανωτικό Τζακ, που θεωρεί δύσκολο να μετατρέψουν το βιβλιοπωλείο σε επικερδή επιχείρηση μέσα σε τόσο λίγο χρόνο.
Διάχυτη η αγάπη της ηρωίδας μας για το διάβασμα και τα βιβλία με συνεχείς αναφορές σε γνωστά βιβλία διαφόρων ειδών. Μου άρεσε η επιμονή της Κλερ να τα καταφέρει και ο ενθουσιασμός της. Το ρομαντικό στοιχείο έρχεται σε δεύτερη μοίρα, παρόλο που υπήρχαν κάποια στοιχεία κατά τόπους.
Ευκολοδιάβαστο, μου κράτησε καλή συντροφιά τις ημέρες των διακοπών μου.

Es hätte keinen perfekten Leseort für diese Geschichte geben können, als die Strände von Indonesien. Die perfekte Urlaubslektüre! 🏝️ Man spürt in jedem Kapitel die Liebe zu Büchern und das perfekte Urlaubserlebnis. Die Geschichte von Claire und Jack ist das perfekte Gesamtpaket - liebenswert, unterhaltsam, Slow-Burn-Romance und ganz viel Bücherliebe. 💕

DNF @ 64%. Really wanted to like this but had no desire to pick this up for the past few days and didn’t care about the outcome for the characters which is a shame.

3,5 Estrelas!
Adorei toda a parte da livraria e a forma como lidam com os livros, é lindo ver esta parte e foi sem dúvida o que mais gostei e o que fez-me ficar presa na história. Mas gostaria de ter tido mais de Bali, na verdade esta livraria ser em Bali ou em outro local qualquer seria igual e a relação dos dois é muito fraca, mas gostei tanto da livraria e de todos os problemas que foi uma boa leitura que li em poucas horas!

Uma coisa é certa: este livro aumentou a minha vontade de ir visitar 0 Bali.
Ao inicio o livro não me estava a convencer lá muito bem, tive que o deixar e começar outro e só depois voltar. Contudo, quando cheguei ali perto de meio fiquei com vontade de saber o que iria acontecer e que final iria ter.
Clare está um pouco perdida na sua vida, contudo decide embarcar na aventura de, durante 3 meses, gerir uma livraria independente na ilha de Bali. Mas o que ela não esperava era que a gestão da livraria seria feita com companhia. Eis então que conhece Jack. O confronto inicial destes dois personagens não é o melhor de todos, as suas formas de trabalhar também elas são diferentes e inicialmente não estavam a conseguir conciliar as suas diferenças. Contudo, com o passar do tempo percebem que ambas as formas são válidas e a fusão das duas poderia ser muito benéfica.
O livro é muito leve, ideal para se ler no verão e não temos muito que pensar. O facto de o palco central ser sobre a recuperação de uma livraria faz com que qualquer amante de livro sinta um calorzito mais intenso.
Um livro sobre autodescoberta muito interessante.
"... haverá sempre oportunidades para tornar a vida mais divertida. Talvez sejam coisas que durem uma eternidade. Ou talvez desapareçam num instante. É preciso aproveitá-las, certo? E apreciá-las enquanto durarem. Mesmo que sejam difíceis de esquecer."

Um romance de verão mega simples mas não há nenhum enemies, não entrem neste livro com esse pensamento porque vão ficar desiludidos.
Não shippei muito o casal mas gostei do que a autora tentou fazer apesar de não ter adorado a execução final, não sei se foi a escrita ou só não estava no mood.

Έτσι, παίρνει την, τολμηρή, απόφαση να ταξιδέψει μέχρι το Μπαλί και να αναλάβει για τρεις μήνες τη διαχείριση ενός μικρού βιβλιοπωλείου πάνω στην παραλία.
Αυτό που δεν περιμένει είναι να βρει εκεί τον Τζακ, έναν Αμερικανό που έχει την τάση να εμφανίζεται εκεί που δεν τον σπέρνουν. Καλά, μπορεί ο ιδιοκτήτης του βιβλιοπωλείου να της είχε πει κάτι και η ίδια να μην το συγκράτησε. Ο Τζακ είναι έξυπνος, όμορφος αλλά… εκνευριστικά απόλυτος. Οι δυο τους αναγκάζονται να συνεργαστούν για να αναζωογονήσουν το παραπαίον βιβλιοπωλείο, αλλά οι προσωπικότητές τους συγκρούονται ασταμάτητα. Μέχρι που… δεν συγκρούονται πια.
Η Κλερ είναι ένας δημιουργικός άνθρωπος ενώ ο Τζακ είναι πραγματιστής. Η Κλερ σκέφτεται τρόπους που θα μπορούσαν να κάνουν το βιβλιοπωλείο πιο προσιτό, κι ο Τζακ σκέφτεται πόσο θα κοστίσουν όλα αυτά! Εδώ που τα λέμε βέβαια, η Κλερ μάλλον έχει βγάλει κάποια βιαστικά συμπεράσματα για το Τζακ, όμως αυτό μένει να αποδειχθεί!
Αν είστε βιβλιοφάγοι, όπως εγώ, θα αγαπήσετε τις αναφορές στα βιβλία, και είναι πολλές, τον ρομαντισμό που αποπνέει ένα μικρό παραλιακό βιβλιοπωλείο, την αίσθηση ότι τα βιβλία μπορούν να φέρουν κοντά ανθρώπους που στην αρχή δείχνουν ασύμβατοι. Αν σας αρέσει το slow-burn ρομάντζο, τότε θα το εκτιμήσετε σε αυτό το βιβλίο! Η σχέση της Κλερ και του Τζακ δεν είναι η κλασική insta-love. Αντίθετα, ξεκινά με αντιπαλότητα, περνά από φάσεις κόντρας, κατανόησης και τελικά εξελίσσεται με φυσικό και ρεαλιστικό τρόπο. Αυτό κάνει την ιστορία πιο ουσιαστική και απολαυστική.
Η Georgie Tilney καταφέρνει να δημιουργήσει μια ονειρική ατμόσφαιρα. Οι περιγραφές της φύσης, της παραλίας, της ζέστης, των μικρών στιγμών χαλάρωσης κάτω από τον ήλιο, απογειώνουν το καλοκαιρινό mood και σε κάνουν να θέλεις να βρεθείς εκεί, με ένα βιβλίο στο χέρι.
Μου άρεσε πολύ η ιστορία αυτών των δύο, όπως και η ιστορία του βιβλιοπωλείου! Και χαίρομαι πολύ για τη λύση που βρήκε τελικά η συγγραφέας για να βγάλει την ηρωίδα της από το εργασιακό τέλμα! Δείχνει, ότι το μόνο που χρειάζεται είναι να πιστεύει κάποιος σε εσένα, και κυρίως ο εαυτός σου, και να σου δοθεί η ευκαιρία να βγάλεις τον πραγματικό σου εαυτό, ακριβώς όπως η Κλερ έβγαλε όλη τη δημιουργικότητα από μέσα της και έκανε θαύματα!
Ποιος δεν θα ήθελε να ξεφύγει από τη ρουτίνα της καθημερινότητας για λίγο; Να βρεθεί σε μια εξωτική παραλία, περιτριγυρισμένος από βιβλία και τη θάλασσα να απλώνεται μπροστά του; Αυτή ακριβώς είναι η υπόσχεση του βιβλίου «Βιβλιοπωλείο στον Παράδεισο», ενός ανάλαφρου, feel-good ρομαντικού μυθιστορήματος που μας μεταφέρει στην καρδιά του Μπαλί, σε ένα μικρό, παραμελημένο παραλιακό βιβλιοπωλείο που χρειάζεται λίγη αγάπη και πολύ… συνεργασία!
Η Κλερ είναι μια νεαρή γυναίκα που βρίσκεται σε ένα μεταίχμιο. Η ζωή της στο Λονδίνο δεν την εμπνέει πλέον, η καριέρα της έχει βαλτώσει ή για την ακρίβεια, δεν έχει ξεκινήσει ουσιαστικά και εκείνη ψάχνει εναγωνίως μια διέξοδο και ένα τρόπο να βρει τι θέλει να κάνει στο μέλλον. Έτσι, παίρνει την, τολμηρή, απόφαση να ταξιδέψει μέχρι το Μπαλί και να αναλάβει για τρεις μήνες τη διαχείριση ενός μικρού βιβλιοπωλείου πάνω στην παραλία.
Αυτό που δεν περιμένει είναι να βρει εκεί τον Τζακ, έναν Αμερικανό που έχει την τάση να εμφανίζεται εκεί που δεν τον σπέρνουν. Καλά, μπορεί ο ιδιοκτήτης του βιβλιοπωλείου να της είχε πει κάτι και η ίδια να μην το συγκράτησε. Ο Τζακ είναι έξυπνος, όμορφος αλλά… εκνευριστικά απόλυτος. Οι δυο τους αναγκάζονται να συνεργαστούν για να αναζωογονήσουν το παραπαίον βιβλιοπωλείο, αλλά οι προσωπικότητές τους συγκρούονται ασταμάτητα. Μέχρι που… δεν συγκρούονται πια.
Η Κλερ είναι ένας δημιουργικός άνθρωπος ενώ ο Τζακ είναι πραγματιστής. Η Κλερ σκέφτεται τρόπους που θα μπορούσαν να κάνουν το βιβλιοπωλείο πιο προσιτό, κι ο Τζακ σκέφτεται πόσο θα κοστίσουν όλα αυτά! Εδώ που τα λέμε βέβαια, η Κλερ μάλλον έχει βγάλει κάποια βιαστικά συμπεράσματα για το Τζακ, όμως αυτό μένει να αποδειχθεί!
Αν είστε βιβλιοφάγοι, όπως εγώ, θα αγαπήσετε τις αναφορές στα βιβλία, και είναι πολλές, τον ρομαντισμό που αποπνέει ένα μικρό παραλιακό βιβλιοπωλείο, την αίσθηση ότι τα βιβλία μπορούν να φέρουν κοντά ανθρώπους που στην αρχή δείχνουν ασύμβατοι. Αν σας αρέσει το slow-burn ρομάντζο, τότε θα το εκτιμήσετε σε αυτό το βιβλίο! Η σχέση της Κλερ και του Τζακ δεν είναι η κλασική insta-love. Αντίθετα, ξεκινά με αντιπαλότητα, περνά από φάσεις κόντρας, κατανόησης και τελικά εξελίσσεται με φυσικό και ρεαλιστικό τρόπο. Αυτό κάνει την ιστορία πιο ουσιαστική και απολαυστική.
Η Georgie Tilney καταφέρνει να δημιουργήσει μια ονειρική ατμόσφαιρα. Οι περιγραφές της φύσης, της παραλίας, της ζέστης, των μικρών στιγμών χαλάρωσης κάτω από τον ήλιο, απογειώνουν το καλοκαιρινό mood και σε κάνουν να θέλεις να βρεθείς εκεί, με ένα βιβλίο στο χέρι.

Preciso desesperadamente de encontrar um trabalho numa livraria em Bali, que me permita relaxar com os pés na areia, enquanto leio e ganho dinheiro ao mesmo tempo.
Esta leitura foi super "Verão", leve, divertida, que entreteve e trouxe tudo o que precisava no momento de férias.
É um cinco estrelas pela sensação provocada e não propriamente pela análise à escrita/ plot, apesar de também ter gostado imenso.
O livro é narrado na terceira pessoa, o que normalmente me faz alguma comixão, mas que neste caso, até consegui tolerar e não atrapalhar de todo a leitura.
Se ainda estão em modo férias e Verão recomendo imenso lerem este livro !

This book oh my… aaaaah!!!
I might have to take back my words in my review about You And Me On Vacation by Emily Henry. I said that that book probably was my favorite straight romance, but man, I was wrong, because this book is my favorite straight romance so far without a doubt! The charm offensive is my favorite queer romance and also my current favorite book, but Beach Rivals is sooooo close to sharing my favorite book spot!!
The vibes in this book were immaculate. I mean, the story was located in Bali in a book shop?!? Come on, that’s an amazing combination and you can’t deny it. As a book, rom-com and holiday lover this was made for me. I smiled through the whole book! It was so wholesome.
Also, the characters in this book!! Of course Clare and Jack and Adam and Celestina were adorable main characters, but Joyo and Bethany!! They were sooooo cute. It reminded me of me going book shopping with my grandma when I was younger. She always used to read me books and seeing something like that in Joyo and Bethany was heartwarming.
I actually need a part two and a movie of this book. I’m envisioning how everything will look like right here right now.
This book deserves to get way more hype. No one ever talks about it and it needs to be changed. I will not accept any hate on this book and I will never stop recommending it.
I could go on for hours about this book and how wonderful it was. It really made me escape reality and it made me so happy. I’m actually devastated that it’s over and that I’m not able to read more about Seashore books and all of the lovely characters.
I’m not ready to stop writing this review, I can go on and on but I’m sure no one wants to read that. But if you’re not quite sure wether to read this book or not this is your sign to do it!

Que livro aborrecido! Cheguei a 30% e decidi que não ia forçar a leitura porque não estava a gostar nada. Não senti conexão com o par romântico, a escrita é super banal e demasiado infantil.
A única coisa que estava a gostar era a renovação da livraria mas não é suficiente para me fazer continuar a lê-lo.

“Rivais de verão” foi uma agradável surpresa para mim.
Uma história passada numa livraria em Bali, com um romance no meio e uma reflexão sobre as nossas vidas. É isto e muito mais que vais encontrar neste livro. 🩵
Eu ameiii esta história do início ao fim. É o meu tipo de romance preferido porque não se foca apenas na relação que se vai construindo, mas também na vida pessoal das personagens e noutros aspetos mais profundos.
Não é uma seca por falar de livros, muito pelo contrário. Para mim foi das minhas partes favoritas, este amor que a Clare vai colocando no seu trabalho na livraria e tudo o que ela faz para a fazer crescer 🩵
Bali também me fez apaixonar por este livro porque é um sítio que eu quero imenso ir é que me deu muito mais vontade de viajar 🥰
Sem dúvida que recomendo para amantes de romances, com um toque de comédia e muitos bons momentos 🤍

“Beach Rivals” didn’t quite hit the mark for me. I struggled to connect with the characters, and the overall storyline felt flat and lacked that essential spark. The premise of “two bitter rivals” felt misleading, as their differences were minor and they were ultimately working towards a common goal. The slow burn romance never fully ignited for me.

I was drawn in by the Emily Henry comparison (obvs) but alas it didn’t quite tick the boxes of what I was looking for
A very standard romance with honestly… lot less romance than I had anticipated
