What if the world’s axis of evil united to destroy the one and only Jewish State?
In this explosive new thriller—the continuation of Foes of Zion—authors Levi Shalev and Elihu Naphtali return. A new American president has been elected, promising a new era of “Peace Through Strength.” But around the world, things are not looking so hopeful. CIA Agent Peter Hawthorne is sent to Iran to rescue a kidnapped operative… Newly recruited agents Noah Trenton and his two sons, Micah and Rick, are assigned separate investigate a leak in the CIA chain of command, extract a mole from the heart of Russia, and stop nuclear warheads from Iran before they reach American cities and kill millions. And just as it all unfolds, Damascus evaporates in a nuclear strike. All fingers point to Israel. Abandoned by her allies, isolated by the international community, and outnumbered by her enemies, Israel must stand alone against the united forces of the MAHGOG alliance. Ezekiel 38 is coming true before their very eyes. Russia has the MAHGOG treaty. Iran has nineteen nuclear warheads. And the Antichrist has a plan to take it all. Who truly has the ultimate weapon?

Shalev is a coffee-drinking, prophecy-studying, Zionist neoconservative.
Levi Shalev is an Israeli-American author known for his political thrillers and books on biblical prophecy. A Messianic Jew with a passion for history and current events, he writes about the intersection of faith, geopolitics, and the future of Israel.
Born in Jerusalem and later moving to the United States, Shalev grew up surrounded by both Jewish and Christian perspectives, shaping his unique approach to storytelling. When he’s not writing, he enjoys hiking in the Judean Hills, studying ancient texts, and debating world affairs over a strong cup of coffee. He’s also an avid chess player and a fan of classic spy novels.
Shalev splits his time between Israel and the U.S., always keeping a close eye on the shifting tides of global politics—both for his writing and his own curiosity.
Riveting The Ultimate Weapon: A novel of Ezekiel 38 by Levi Shalev and Elihu C. Naphtali is a riveting sequel. The book picks up where Foes of Zion concluded with Agent Peter Hawthorne in the middle of international intrigue and his private investigator friends being recruited by the CIA. Russia and Iran believe that they have the “ultimate weapon” and plan to use it against Israel. The stage is set for world war.
This book is an exciting read that will keep you engaged from the beginning. It is a page turner with well-developed characters – particularly Peter Hawthorne. The plot is suspenseful, heart-stopping, and action-packed. The ending will leave you on the edge-of-your-seat. Moreover, the story is based on Scripture - the biblical prophecy of Ezekiel 38. The authors have a wealth of knowledge about the Middle East. Additionally, the writing style is well-crafted, fast-paced, and believable in every detail. I personally valued the Christian message interwoven throughout the narrative.
I recommend this book to anyone who loves novels based on political intrigue, especially those interested in Bible Prophecy. I look forward to the next book.
Another brilliant political thriller from Shalev and Naphtali, with recurring references to classic literature and themes of coffee addiction. :) It was a little bit hard for me to get into this one...but that's mostly just because it is not my genre at all. As with the first book, the sheer number of foreign politicians and world leaders with weird names is so over my head, but the character index helped a lot. I have to say, the writing in this one was so much better than in Foes of Zion! It flows a lot better, and the conversations feel a lot more realistic. Also, I love the way that these authors portray the dark internal dialogue of antagonists like Kuznetsov...I am actually terrified of him. :) A lot happened in this one... definitely more plot progression than the first book, which I enjoyed. I also enjoyed seeing more of Peter. Arwen was a surprise! I'm excited to see more of her in the next books...even though she is obviously written by the opposite gender. ;) Overall, a very intense, heavy read with some dark scenes. However, everything is tied back into God's word, which I appreciate. Great work!
"The Ultimate Weapon" takes the high stakes of the first book and launches them into the stratosphere. This novel feels like it was ripped straight from the headlines, creating a reading experience that is both exhilarating and deeply unsettling. The depiction of the escalating conflict between a resurgent Russia and NATO is particularly masterful and gives the story a terrifying sense of realism.
As Peter Hawthorne and the Trentons race against time on multiple fronts, the plot masterfully weaves in the prophecy of Ezekiel 38. It's done so skillfully and it enhances the suspense without ever sacrificing the narrative. This is a top-tier thriller that stands on its own, delivering action and intrigue in spades. The authors have created a truly exceptional series, and I am anxiously awaiting the next book!
The Ultimate Weapon picks up where Foes of Zion left off, bringing twists and turns I never saw coming. Though I enjoyed the first book in the series, I found the sequel to be even better in terms of writing quality and character development. The authors did an excellent job of weaving biblical prophecy into the storyline in a way that was natural, effective, and believable. I could easily picture events from this book happening in our day and time. I also appreciated the ending, which wasn’t the cliff-hanger I expected. I felt like the storylines of this book wrapped up nicely while still leaving opportunity for plot developments in future books. I’m looking forward to seeing where Book 3 takes Peter and his friends!
If you are into politics, coffee, and fast-paced action, you will definitely enjoy The Ultimate Weapon.
