Another enjoyable m4m romance with grit, drama, and the price of fame. As I often say, and now I begin to wonder more, is this for real? Love the story, but I struggle to accept the way people talk to each other in these books. I am quite sarcastic but only with those I know and love. I'd never say the things I say to my family and friends (meaning be witty and sarcastic when they do something funny, or I do something dumb). But in the m4m romances I've come to adore, they do it with strangers too. I'd feel so guilty! And then there's the sex - almost always so perfect. Ha.... reality vs. fantasy, I suppose. Some of us readers prefer one over other. But I say all that acknowledging I really like this book and the characters. They have charm and an obnoxious personality unlike some where it's all rudeness. Adorable, funny, and filled with surprising scenes. I fell for them as a couple, but fate intervened in the end and left us stranded. Will they or won't they... get together, that is. You'll have to read book 2 in the series. :)

The only characters that didn't annoy me 90% of the time were Imani, the hotel receptionist, and Rob, the bodyguard. That should tell you enough.
But in all seriousness, I did not enjoy this book at all. If you set out to talk about addiction and trauma the least you can do is treat it well, and I can't overlook how none of it was explored at all here. You can argue that's because this is a trilogy(yes, I didn't have a clue about that, quite fun realizing the last line was a cliffhanger) but I say that this is no excuse because in more than 300 pages we could have had SOME development. Also, so much shit that bothered me like the way Alexander dismissed his sober mentor because she has blue hair and that doesn't show credibility?!? And that bachelorette party, I thought we had left that shit behind as a society? And his best friend is the worst possible gay caricature character I've seen in a while.
So yeah. I don't like this book. The only saving grace is the music industry thing because I like to read about it but not enough to put on with whatever this was.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest review. This book was a good palette cleanser after reading manacled but unfortunately it was nothing special. The characters with pretty one sided and both had main character trait that their entire personality was based upon. The book also had the same events happening in different ways a lot so it got kind of boring in the middle. The last 20% carried the book in my opinion and I want to read the second one for sure. This was definitely a good start and the series has a lot of room for growth!

All I can say is WOW.
This book left me all up in my feels. An emotional rollercoaster. Yes, it ends on a cliffhanger, but don't let that stop you from reading this book.
The insta-lust hooked me in straight away, as rockstars are known for their one-night stands and that's what I expect from a rockstar romance book. The emotional depth of the characters especially all that Alexander (the rockstar) has to contend with, and the pressures they both faced, whilst navigating a relationship made me feel for both of them too.
The author has also made songs for the book too, which only adds to the whole world building here and I can't wait for book two in the series.

The first half was really interesting but around the 60% mark is when the book began to lose me. Even as a first book in the series, I expected more on the aspect of Alex's addiction at least. The conversation with his sobriety coach just seemed poorly done. I also think the book tried to tackle way too many side plots and elements that it just ended up doing justice to none of them.
None of the characters were particularly compelling to read about either. I didn't hate reading this but I didn't quite like it and I'm not sure I'll be up for reading the sequel. It was a very fun book though, they were messy as hell!

First of all, I really liked this book. It's not perfect, I wish some things were handled differently, still once I got into the story, I couldn't put the book down. If you like drama, I mean, DRAMA, go for it. In addition, I received the book as an ARC, but life happened, and it was published before I managed to finish reading it, so I alternated between the ebook and the audiobook, and let me tell you, the audiobook is really well done, great narration! And singing, and music!
However, if you go into it blindly, just like me, you should know, that it's not a finished story and it ends with a cliffhanger, and a tearjerking one. So, be forwarned, fellow romance readers.

Before I get into my review of “Stolen Moments”, I’d like to thank NetGalley and Jackal Entertainment Publishing for the early eARC.
After a four month reading slump, this was definitely the book I needed to get me back into reading! Stolen Moments displays the ups and downs of the music industry and the brutal nature of trying to have a private life while living in the public eye. This book is definitely for lovers of the Disney Channel movie “Starstruck”!
I absolutely adored both Alexander and Christopher as characters, I truthfully could read three more books about them and never get bored. The plot was well written and kept me hooked and entertained from the first page!
This was my first time reading A.B. Jackson and I very quickly fell in love with his writing style. I cannot wait to read more from this author because I am hooked.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me an advanced readers copy of Stolen Moments by A.B. Jackson. First off, I’m so glad that I read some of the reviews first so I went in knowing that this is a trilogy and that Stolen Moments does end in a cliffhanger and what a cliffhanger it is. I am dying for the next book, Stolen Hearts, but unfortunately have to wait until July. I loved this story and thought that Alex and Chris were such a cute couple. They had immediate chemistry but also complicated pasts that lead to some toxic issues in their brief, but passionate, time together. Alex is a musician that is in London for a 7 night gig while Chris is traveling for his sister’s wedding. They just happen to be staying in the same hotel which is where 99% of the book takes place. Alex is plagued by the death of his past lover while Chris is dealing with difficult family dynamics, especially after the death of his father. The book shows how these two are managing, often poorly, all the challenges that come their way while also trying to find their happy ending. There are two characters, Paul and Connie… listen, if you’ve read the book you will understand how angry these two make me. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I’m excited to see where the story goes from here. I rate this book 4.5⭐️, rounding up to 5 for Goodreads. My only issue with the book are some of the miscommunication moments and Alex got on my nerves. I don’t want to give any spoilers but he’s an adult that can act very childlike at times. Would definitely recommend reading this when released!

Oh man, what a cliffhanger!!! That will be my only “spoiler” because I somehow didn’t realize this was a trilogy until the end 😂 I really enjoyed this book for a few reasons, though there were a few issues I had that kept me from giving it a 5 star rating.
Alexander and Christopher have two very different backgrounds. Alex’s life is made extremely challenging due to his celebrity status and still being closeted, and Chris is still struggling with a shitty past trauma forced on him from idiotic parents. But honestly, those are at least semi-realistic things queer people have to deal with even now. I loved Rob, Kelly, and Daniel as side characters, and I enjoyed some of the inner monologuing that depicted anxiety pretty realistically imo. I struggled with Paul (which you’re obviously supposed to) and hated that he had so much influence on Alex, and screw Connie while you’re at it, too. They were so incredibly unlikeable that I don’t understand how they’re still around. On top of that, I hated the ending, but that’s mainly because I didn’t realize it would be a trilogy and I thought it might tie up nice and tidy with a happily ever after.
I will definitely be continuing this series, though I’m mad I have to wait for the second book 😂😂 I really liked this book and suggest others dive into their world…while knowing the end is a cliffhanger. Can’t wait to see where this story goes and what else this author writes!

In my first book in stolen romance series we get a very frustrating cliffhanger. If knew ahead of time I would never have asked for the ARC to review. Part of my frustration comes from the release date of Stolen Hearts isn’t until July 30, 2026. While I liked stolen moments cliffhangers are a huge red flag! The author writes with so much intensity and emotion pulled from each book it’s felt page after page. Some are quick witted story lines are so perfect and lets you believe you have a front row seat. So being able to read this love story didn’t disappoint. The authors ability to have two separate individuals struggling in their everyday life and try to navigate someone else’s thoughts, needs and desires was intense and gives all the fills.

This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know you’re 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.

Stolen Moments is an easy book to move through; the writing flows well, and I was three-quarters of the way in before I realised how far I’d got. The dialogue is a real strength; sharp, occasionally funny, and effective at establishing the dynamic between the two main characters.
The pacing, however, works against the story. The plot moves quickly, and as a result the characters and relationships feel under-developed. The book also introduces some complex and challenging themes, but the speed at which everything progresses means these elements aren’t explored with the depth they deserve.
The ending lands on a cliffhanger that achieves exactly what it sets out to do: it leaves you wanting more, though with a degree of frustration.
Despite the shortcomings, I’ll be continuing with book two. There’s enough promise here to warrant seeing where the story goes next.

Stolen Moments is a MM romance between an american pop star and a normal british guy. It is the first book of a trilogy.
In town for his sister's wedding, Christopher expected to spend the 10 days attenting wedding related events and playing buffer between his sister and their mother.
He didn't expect to run into international pop star Alexander Morgan, who happens to be staying in the room next door to him at the hotel.
It was definitely more insta-lust than I usually like but it had to be for the sake of the story. They are both in town for 10 days so their relationship had to progress quickly.
I really enjoyed this book. The whole popstar aspect made me feel like I was back in highschool reading fanfics in the best way. We follow Alexander on his day to day of a week filled with shows, interviews and press tour. That mixed with the secret romance/forbidden aspect was really entertaining.
Also, my fault for not knowing this will be a trilogy because I was not expecting to be left on a cliff hanger!!!

I received an EARC from the author and these are my honest thoughts. I really loved the banter and every time they had to play “hide the rock star” 😂! I I definitely need to know what happens in the rest of this series because yep that cliffhanger was just rude.

I was 75% through before I realized this wasn’t getting wrapped up in one book!! It was so easy to fall into this story. I really enjoyed the main characters and I’m excited to hear this is a trilogy so there is a chance to learn more of how they grow with the trauma they’ve faced. Couldn’t help but root for Alex and Chris!

If Taylor Swift wrote rockstar romances, this book would be it!
Packed full of drama, insta-lust and emotional depth, this book isn't initially what I'd go for in a romance book, but it ended up being so much more. What's even more amazing about this book is that it has a load of original songs that the author has recorded and released too, which allowed me to immerse myself in the world even more.
Now, if you aren't into cliffhangers for your romance series books, then maybe give this a skip, but if you are invested in great story-telling, with forced proximity, insta-lust, strangers-to-lovers tropes, then this book is for you!

Disclaimer: this is not a contained story and does end on a cliffhanger. Part of a trilogy according to the blurb at the end of the book. That being said I really did enjoy this story, I just wish that was a little more evident from the cover and description. I can see a lot of people being blindsided by that (me included)
This was actually a really cute romance story. Very easy to read and the romance was really sweet. I think character depictions are really well done. Both characters seem really mature about the limitations they face when dating someone famous. The struggles Alex faces being famous are not sugar coated, alcohol and alcoholism are featured heavily in this story.

The banter between the characters is great I just wish there was more of it. There is actually a lot of side characters and side plots but some are more pronounced and fleshed out than others.
I’m invested enough in their story and will be checking out the next book.

I requested Stolen Moments on a whim, because…well, you know me. I can’t really say no to a book that features musicians, *especially* if it’s an M/M romance. These days, I’m a sucker for those, although I might be getting a bit of an overload lately. But that’s beside the point. The point is that I could dive into this one without any expectations, and that’s a good thing.
Stolen Moments has two POV MCs, Alexander and Christopher. One is a world-famous pop star who is burned out on all the touring, pressure, and expectations put on his shoulders since his teens, while he also needs to hide his identity. Because Alex happens to be gay, which is only known to a handful of people in his team. Christopher is your regular guy (compared to Alex, anyway), with a job in marketing, and a family he basically ran away from to live on the other side of the world. Well, his mom, specifically. And as fate would have it, they both happen to be in London at the same time – Alex has a series of concerts to close his tour, and Chris is back to celebrate his sister’s wedding.
The moment they meet, sparks fly. I’m not a particular fan of insta anything, but insta-lust is still better than insta-love so I could let that slide. At least they took their time to actually have sex, so there was some buildup. Fair warning: Stolen Moments has a few very explicit sex scenes, just so you know. Maybe one or two too many, but again, this wasn’t a particular issue for me. The fact, however, that I pretty much only liked the two MCs and even then sometimes they were frustrating AF, was an issue. Like, okay, Alex and Chris clearly have their own issues, they are not perfect, but they were still likable, and I particularly liked the humor. But other than that, I wanted to strangle most of the others, and was questioning why the fuck they let people treat them like that.
“We’re at that stage between fun fling and future therapy session,” he says. His sarcasm is delivered with such coldness that it sends a shiver down my spine.
On Alex’s side, I kind of get it that he can’t really jeopardize his own career, so he has to put up with assholes like Paul, his manager, and Connie, his marketing person, who has the empathy level of a rag, but come on. I really hoped he would stand up for himself sooner or more, or something. But this is the first book in a trilogy, so there is still hope for him yet. As for Chris, I really don’t see why he is friends with Stephen, who can’t shut up and didn’t seem to get the memo about bro code. At least they live continents apart now, but seriously, I hoped Chris would at least address some issues with him. And OMG don’t even get me started on his mom. JFC. I was so proud of Chris for how he handled things toward the end with her.
My biggest issue, however, was that the book ends on a cliffhanger. I’m not a fan of cliffhangers. At all. And I’m not talking about an open ending to leave room for later development. I mean a full-on cliffhanger. It kind of makes me feel manipulated into picking up the next book, and I don’t like that feeling. I get it, you need to hook people, but come on. Cliffhangers ain’t the way, IMO. That said, I still might pick up the second book at one point, because I did become invested in Alex and Chris’ story, proven by the fact that I read the last 70% of the book in basically one sitting. But let me tell you, I’m not amused.
Stolen Moments is a romance full of drama and trauma, both coming from issues related to identity and family. It doesn’t really bring anything new to the genre, and the tortured artist trope can be a bit old, but A. B. Jackson does a good job at bringing this side of the industry to life – not surprising, given that he worked in it. Still, working in it and actually putting it on paper aren’t exactly the same. He captures well the characters, their inner and outer conflicts, and doesn’t shy away from a gut punch or two when needed. Stolen Moments is an impressive debut into the world of fiction, and I think it would appeal to those who like Alexis Hall‘s work. Oh, and it gets bonus points for having a playlist!

Where do I start with this book?
The Story: I have a questionable dislike of the celebrity trope, I like the idea of it but haven't really found it well executed yet. This one felt, ok. I often end up being annoyed about how the celebrity is infantilized or that the normal "woe is me" stuff doesn't hold up when you have money for therapy.. but that is a rant for another day.
This book takes place over about a 12 day period, and it honestly felt more like months. So much shit happens in this book and, at the same time, absolutely nothing. Well. Not nothing, but it felt like a fire a minute. It honestly felt like every 'day' that happened in the book was a month of things. So many little things and I often found myself asking out loud if all of this even matters. There all these little things, little notes I have about what this little thing and that little thing, and if those don't get wrapped up I'll be fucking annoyed. BUT! I knew this book ended on a cliffhanger, so I was prepared for something, I was not prepared for that ending.
Spice: Spice sceneries were underwhelming, which was surprising. They were not heavily detailed and more felt like clinical breakdowns. I didn't feel the emotion behind them and it sort of colored them. Was I supposed to feel like it was just throw away spice? There was one specific scene that happened and I had to reread the pages before because the characters went from having like a moment so suddenly penetration. It happened almost twice. I'm also disappointed in the little lack of lube. Spit isn't lube unless this is a different kind of book. Hardly any prep either, which is kind of crazy for a 300+ page book.
The Characters: I really don't like Alex. If he's supposed to be written the way he is, then hats off. If I'm supposed to like him, then I missed the boat. He's a jerk, and yeah, there are reasons for it, but he's blind to a lot of things and he hides behind a lot of bs excuses. Chris was better, but not by much. They both have their issues, and not just the romance issues. It very much felt like we glossed over the significant amount of baggage and trauma these two idiots are carrying around. I'm hoping that it gets addressed and examined a little better in the second novel, cuz right now it very much feels like it was just dropped in and then ignored, even though its clear these two boys are messes and its affecting the world around them. Still, a lot of that felt like it was happening TO them and not BECAUSE of the things they did or the abuse that they put up with because of the people around them.

I want to say that there is potential here, but a lot of it hinges on how this story wraps up. The story is 4 stars right now based on the sheer potential I see in the story. Stolen Moments (Book 1 of The Stolen Romance series) by A.B. Jackson turned out to be the perfect way to close out my 2025 reading year—and I mean that literally. I started this ARC on my flight from the US to London and finished it on the Tube ride back to my flat. I didn’t want to put it down, didn’t care how tired I was, and absolutely refused to wait until the next day. That alone should tell you how hard this book hooked me.
This high-emotion MM contemporary romance blends rockstar glamour with secret passion and very real personal stakes. Alexander Morgan is a world-famous pop star—polished, adored, and tightly controlled—while hiding a truth his career simply can’t survive. Enter Christopher Foster, in London for his sister’s wedding and carrying baggage of his own. Their connection is immediate, charged, and unapologetic. No meet-cute. No slow circling. They meet, they feel it, and the book owns that choice.
What really sets Stolen Moments apart is how authentic it feels. This is clearly written by a gay man, and again—that’s a compliment. Attraction comes first, and it’s messy, physical, and real. One of my favorite scenes isn’t even a big dramatic moment, but a quiet one: Alexander and Christopher lying in bed after sex, casually asking each other who they are and what they do for a living. That kind of intimacy—earned through touch before vulnerability—felt so spot-on and deeply human.
The last 60 pages? Absolute chaos (the good kind). I told myself I’d stop. I lied to myself. Next thing I knew, it was 3 a.m. and I was staring down a cliffhanger. Am I happy about that? Not exactly. But knowing this is the first book in a trilogy softened the blow—though I did initially hope these might be standalones in a shared world. Either way, I am fully invested now and desperately hoping we get a lot more Alexander-and-Christopher time going forward.
If I have one gripe, it’s that the relationship moves fast—maybe a little too fast. Falling in love that quickly stretches belief, even with the strong chemistry. That said, the book does acknowledge uncertainty, raising the question of whether this is proximity and fascination morphing into something deeper… or something more fragile.
As someone who’s worked in the entertainment industry, I found Alexander’s situation painfully accurate. It’s frustrating—and sad—that people still feel forced to hide who they are to keep a career machine running, especially when so many other livelihoods depend on that illusion. The book handles that tension thoughtfully, without sugarcoating it.
Bonus points for the side characters, especially Rob and Christopher’s sister Kelly, who bring warmth and grounding energy to an already emotionally charged story.
And finally—serious props to the author for going above and beyond the page. A.B. Jackson has written and recorded music as Alexander, available on Spotify, and it genuinely helps bring this world to life. Listening to “Alexander” while reading added another layer of immersion that felt both ambitious and incredibly effective.
Spicy, emotional, addictive, and impossible to put down, Stolen Moments was a fantastic final read of 2025—and a reminder of why I love this genre so much. Cliffhanger and all, I’ll be first in line for book two.

I loved this book, the pace, the insta-lust, the banter and sarcasm.
Alexander is a famous pop star, thrown into fame at a young age. His life is controlled by the evil Paul and Connie. Alexander struggles with his own demons (alcohol & the death of his ex). The ups & downs of fame/living in the public eye while desperately trying to find some normalcy of a private life really takes a toll on him. By chance Alexander meets Chrisopher and immediately wants to make him his...but with being famous and closeted makes things challenging.
Christopher is a regular guy with a 9-5 who travels to London for his sister's wedding, where he meets Alexander by chance. Christopher has his own sh!t to deal with a horrible mother, toxic ex, blamed for his father's death.
The book is left on a cliffhanger after Alexander and Chris are outed by a fan which normally frustrates me but A.B. Jackson does it so well he left you wanting more but also gave us Alexander's voicemail to Christopher, I can live with a good cliffhanger but if he would have left the voice mail out I probably would not have been ok.
There's also a novella "Stolen Nights" explaining Samuel & Alexander's relationship. This is a good short read adding some insight on Alexander's trauma.
This is my first A.B. Jackson read and I quickly fell in love with his writing. He wrote a song for this book, so clever and a great addition.
I did and immersion reading Kieran Regan & Benjamin Crow did an amazing job with this narration.

The first in a trilogy surrounding singer Alexander Morgan, in London for some concerts and pretty much burning out, when he meets Christopher, in town for his sisters wedding. Both clearly have past hurts that are clouding their minds, but the chemistry is evident immediately and the spark very quickly ignites, leading to some very spicy scenes.
I haven't read many M/M romances so I wasn't sure what to expect from their relationship but it was really wonderful to see them dropping their guards and letting each other in.
I really love Rob, Alexander's burly bodyguard with a heart of absolute gold. He is key to so much within, including several highly humorous moments.
I also really liked seeing the relationship of Christopher and his sister Kelly, they had a really special bond which was clear throughout. With a mother like theirs, it was great to see them so aligned and supportive of one another.
It's not a hugely long read, but it did take me a few days to get through as I felt like there was just so much to take in and constantly happening.
Seeing Alexander's schedule, and the relentlessness, its easy to feel a little sad for him and the situations he finds himself in with little support seemingly from those around him. I was so frustrated with many of his team on many occasions and I have suspicions around their involvement in so much of what happens. It will be really interesting to see how that plays out later in the trilogy.
The ending is a massive cliffhanger, while I don't need to end on happily ever afters, I don't like ending on a complete cliffhanger like that. I can only hope the sequel picks up immediately from there and not down the line a little as often happens!

Why did I not realize this was book one in a trilogy? Rude. I hate it, but I also love it and cannot wait for more. Thankfully, July is only about five-ish months away (if I do some creative counting), and I think I can survive the wait.
I knew what was coming for Alex, and somehow it still hurt just as much when it happened. I want to both slap and punch Paul and Connie. I genuinely cannot imagine someone as sweet and precious as Alex having to live this life. Rob, on the other hand, is a character I adore, and I’m so glad Alex has him in his corner.
Chris is every bit as much of a sweetheart, even while dealing with his own trauma. While he doesn’t have a Connie or Paul in his life, he does have a truly terrible mother. Thankfully, he also has an amazing sister, so not all hope is lost.
The story is very instalove and takes place over just tenish days, but honestly, with rockstar romances, that’s easy to forgive. Those lives are always dialed up to a ten anyway. The spice could have gone a little harder or felt more connective for the characters, but that may just be a personal preference.
That said, this book is an absolute emotional roller coaster, and I loved every single second of it. The final chapters take off like a bullet, and I was genuinely stunned by the fallout. We knew something was coming, but the way Alex’s team reacted and the level of coercion surrounding Chris and Alex was completely off the charts. That final voicemail shattered both my heart and my resolve. I was a full-on sobbing mess on the couch. Do yourself a favor and listen to it. Whoever narrated that voicemail deserves an Oscar immediately.

Why did I not realize this was book one in a trilogy? Rude. I hate it, but I also love it and cannot wait for more. Thankfully, July is only about five-ish months away (if I do some creative counting), and I think I can survive the wait.
I knew what was coming for Alex, and somehow it still hurt just as much when it happened. I want to both slap and punch Paul and Connie. I genuinely cannot imagine someone as sweet and precious as Alex having to live this life. Rob, on the other hand, is a character I adore, and I’m so glad Alex has him in his corner.

This was such a good read. I was hooked right from teh beginning but oh that ending. How could they leave it like that. Luckily there is a second book which I will be getting as I need to see what will happen next. There's a lot going on in the story and in both their lives. Each is dealing with their own pain and trauma. There's a bit of trigger warning fo grief as it comes up a few times but its handled well I feel. Alex and Christopher are both likeable in their own way and I enjoyed watching them find each other. A brilliant beginning and I can't wait for the second one.

This series just might become my new obsession. Another 5 stars to the author who can make a book messy in the best ways!
I had originally planned to devour this book right after reading the accompanying novella but life seemed to just keep getting in the way. This ultimately turned out for the best as I was able to savour each chapter that I squeezed in.
This book follows the life of mega star Alexander Morgan and the trials of keeping up his public image while trying to be true to the person he wants to be. This comes with many twists and turns that will have you laughing, crying, and maybe even screaming at the pages as you read. That to me is the show of a good writer, or really any good piece of art. It makes you feel things.
I can not say that I agree with all the decisions made by the characters but I have also never been a famous popstar, although my inflated ego may make you think differently. With all that said I recommend this to someone who wants some yearning, emotional meltdowns, drama, and just a little bit of spice. I look forward to what the author has coming next!

Like other reviewers mentioned, I missed that Stolen Moments is book 1 of 3 in a series and is not a complete story. While I was a bit disappointed by the cliffhanger, I certainly want to know what happens next for Christopher and Alex.
Christopher and Alex meet in a London hotel. Christopher is visiting London for his sister’s wedding festivities, while Alex is there on a sold-out tour stop. Their interactions are refreshingly vulnerable as their connection deepens. They navigate toxic relationships, traumatic pasts, and hopeful futures in the short time they spend together. I appreciated that the story explored not only their romance, but also the complexity of circumstances that are part of their world. This brought some depth to this story that is often missing in romance novels. There was a good mix of likable supporting characters and some who are unlikable, but not to the point of being villainous caricatures.
I think it is really creative for the author to include the interactive features available with this book – there is an audio clip on the author’s website, and Alex’s hit song, My Anchor, is available on music streaming platforms. The website states that more of Alex’s songs mentioned in this book will also be released. I’m used to books having PDFs of maps or maybe recipes, but listening to Alex’s music on my music streaming service definitely made this book a unique experience for me.
This was a fun, steamy read. I am a bit gutted that I’ll have to wait for the rest of the series, but I’ll be eager to read what happens next.

A very enjoyable first part of an ongoing trilogy, with some exceptional side characters and great banter and sarcasm. Both MCs struggled with traumatic experiences in their past, made worse for Alexander in particular as he could not escape his fame. There was so much pressure on him and their potential relationship, and some pretty awful characters around them as well as the wonderful ones. Christopher tried but also felt the understandable need to protect himself. There was nothing unexpected in the plot, but it was very readable. Lots of healing and growth still needed for both MCs, it definitely needs a lot to have them reach a HEA.

I'm all over the place with emotions on this book. First of all, I'm still reeling from the prequel. Jump in a couple years later and yes... Alex could make a therapist SO MUCH MONEY!!!! I spent quite a bit of time being very frustrated by him, but then Christopher would walk into the room and I found them to be so stinking adorable together. I also need to accept that I had the wrong idea about Rob, but maybe not Paul and Connie. I'm still not who on Team Alex can be trusted, but Rob has my vote. After the prequel cliffy, I was left devastated. After this cliffy, I am all sort of angry (at the characters, not the author). I need book 2 as fast as you can possibly write sir!!
