The story started a little slow, but picked up very quickly and the plot twist at the end. Great if you’re looking for a good short read under 100 pages you must go check this book out.

What a fun and sexy read! 😜Baylynn needed a reprieve from her mundane life, so to Texas she goes. With her friend in tow, she visits the local watering hole, and locks eyes with a sexy cowboy. Things immediately heat up when they leave the bar. Whew... them scenes chile..🥵 I wondered what would happen with these two after the weekend was over, as they had such great chemistry. That ending took me out! 🤯😮Damn! I never would have guessed that, but it made the read more enjoyable. 👍🏿

This book gave everything it promised and then some. Their chemistry is instant, grown, and charged with the kind of tension that makes you lean in without meaning to. Had me blushing and kicking my feet. You can feel the sexual tension from the word go!

At the bar, in the truck, at the house, in the barn…a good ole nasty time was had! Then CM had the nerve to throw in a twist at the end. This novella is like a good quickie…fast, hot and unexpected.

Baylynn was looking for something new and an escape and Karderro was just the cowboy to give it to her. This was a short and spicy novella with a twist that had me saying wait, what in a good way. I enjoyed the way it was written and that there was a storyline to go along with the spice.

I really enjoy a good cowboy romance, and this novella by C.M. Campbell totally delivered!

It features Karderro, a super handsome cowboy who’s got his eye on Brynlynn. She’s just in town visiting a friend for a chill weekend away from all the craziness. When they meet on the dance floor, there’s definitely some sparks flying, but will that be enough to keep their chemistry going?

At just 68 pages, you can breeze through it in about an hour. Go grab it on KU!

Stetson: a brand of cowboy hats

This was an erotic novella but I love the author for stepping outside the norm with this.

No confusion here: straight 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️.

However, there was unexpected depth and deeper meaning to this story.

Amazing that this was a book that didn’t begin with much plot but ended with a powerful message.

Side Note: Once the full story unfolded, it kinda gave Beyoncé’s video ”If I were a boy” vibes.

I loved this read and would definitely recommend.

This was a black cowboy book . Not just a mention of a cowboy but a cowboy book and that allows the reader feel the scenes . I enjoyed this spicy novella. Baylynn and Karderro were sexy and spicy from beginning to end. I love the twist at the end and it definitely took me by surprise . Savannah was a real one for sure and I need a wing woman just like her . C. M Campbell did a wonderful job of capturing the elements of a good down south novella while keeping it hot .

This book was incredibly sexy. The vivid imagery. The energy. Their chemistry. All so well done. And at about 70% in there was a beautiful plot twist that I halfway expected. But it didn’t give predictable. And that made me fall in love with the story even more. This is a short but impactful read.

But I’ll be ok if I never read the word “slick” again🤣

You Did That!

A true commitment is a beautiful thing and not an easy task. It does take a lot of work, effort, communication, honesty, loyalty and most definitely spice 🤪! Though time can get tough and thoughts of love & spice being lost can surface, but it’s up to both parties to keep the love and spice alive - role play is NOT a bad thing at all 🤪!

Listen the spice in this read was spicy and I was here for it. From the beginning when Baylynn entered the bar and meeting Karderro, to the instant connect between them both. The way he pleased her will have wondering where them type of men at 🤣! We all need our back broken in from time to time -don’t judge me 🤪! Remember we listen and we don’t judge! Believe me there is more I want to say, but with this being a quick read I don’t want to give it away!

Can I mention how I love the names for both the MMC & the FMC 🥰! The way each was described was on point and I literally was able to picture them and let’s not forget the surrounding area description - the sunset to be exact! Being that I reside in TX, that visual was on point! With the author being new, she has yet to disappoint me. Do I wish it was slightly long, yes but again I was not disappointedl!

I adore me a Black Cowboy trope in a romance book. This was a short novella that definitely delivers on the spice. There were sparks the minute Baylynn caught Karderro’s gaze. And it took off at full speed from there.

Neither one of them shied away from their attraction. Baylynn was even so bold to take that man’s hat and put it on her head…my girl said she knew exactly what she was doing!

I loved the little twist at the end. And shout out to Savannah. Because that’s a true friend to partake in your shenanigans!!

Can’t wait to add the physical copy of this book to my collection.m! I’ve already recommended it to a few friends!

Not sure what to say...

I can appreciate a good plot twist. Love 'em, actually, most of the time. But this one left me more confused than intrigued. I could appreciate the heat between the main characters, though I felt some things were kinda skimmed over here and there. The revelation and ending...I get it, but it didn't quite hit with me as intended. If anything, it threw me off. Perhaps because there was little to no explanation...it read as cryptic more than clear and doused some of my enjoyment.

Cool idea, though. The way it was executed just didn't resonate with me personally.

I was able to download this book during BRAE and one of the girls mentioned how good it was, so I added it to my weekend read and it did not disappoint.

imagine locking eyes with a fine cowboy in a bar and he takes you on the ride of your life. This was short, spicy, filthy in the best way. if he a black cowboy and isn't coming like this I don't want it. He was rough when needed and gentle after. That barn scene baby yupppp IYKYK.

I can't say too much just go read it especially if you are looking for a spicy novella.

Fast and filthy

In the authors note, she writes “What if a long-term couple pretended to meet all over again—and made it filthy?” Now, THAT is the perfect way to summarize the going’s on in this book between Karderro and Baylynn. Its heat builds until it bubbles over. And this is the perfect context for a novella because you’re not thinking about how quickly these 2 get to smashing! Well, you still kinda do (no spoilers), but the payoff is worth.
There are some strange formatting issues with the way the text flows on the page (kindle version) but the story remains solid.

The moment the plot twist hit —I said, Now wait a minute…and had to re-read the line to make sure I was processing correctly. Realizing they already knew each other and were playing in a whole role-play fantasy? I’m here for finding creative ways to reignite love. Plenty of heat for my erotica girlies. This was an okay read for me I think because the repetitiveness over and over that in my opinion took away from the story. Karderro and Baylynn had been married for ten years and they took it back to the first day that they met not to rekindle but remind themselves of what they had through all the moving pieces like jobs, kids, and life itself.
