The Sundays have ended. After 10,000 years, the loop has been broken.
Alexander's first day post-loop was jam-packed with so many events. And his second day? Already shaping up to follow suit.
He's already locked in a bet against Jasmine Doran, his fake girlfriend, the city's most domineering female CEO. And as fate would have it, he ends up crossing paths with Aileen Arison —The city's most beautiful woman, and heiress to the richest man. A woman he knows all too well from his loops, even her deepest darkest secrets.
New bets are soon made, and the stakes keep raising. But to Alexander, it's all fun...... For he finally has a future. No longer stuck in the Sundays.
Disclaimer: This book continues the story of Alexander, so expect an unapologetic MC, an ever-growing harem (Only one male, many multiple females. It will remain that way), and even more unnecessarily explicit scenes. Reading the first volume is required for the story.
This is a pretty interesting series. After spending 10,000 years in a time loop, what would you do when you got out? The only way to survive was to stay away from being bored. That was a path to destruction, so the MC learned. Everything he could. How to deal with people, how to read people. He learned all their secrets. He made it a challenge to get what he wanted. He slept with over 10,000 beautiful women, all in one day. The one thing he couldn't do was form a lasting connection. The day always reset. Just because he is out of the loop, he hasn't changed. He still wants to challenge himself. He is a master strategist and tactician. A master at politics. He is using his talents to get with the most beautiful and powerful women. Yes, he was with them during the time loop, but that was easy. That was just sex. Can he get into a relationship though and keep it going? And can he do it with more than one woman at the same time? Whatever happens, he won't be bored.
There is sex in this book but only in one or two chapters and those chapters are clearly labeled as (smut) so you can decide ahead of time if you are interested or not.
This second book was pretty much on par with the first book. There are still several grammatical errors showing up with too much frequency in the book. The author indicates English is their third language, which is fine. But their editing/proofreading team is not helping them at all.
So in this second book, we find out that the MC is a master manipulator. He knows everyone's secrets and weaknesses, and he can be ruthless in using them. He officially adds a second lover, and not the business woman that he spends the most time with. She's more of a slow burn thing. The first woman he took as a lover was not a factor in this book at all, making it feel less like a harem after 2 books.
I'll read the next book since I've downloaded it, but the author needs to have more plot than "I can manipulate everyone!" to really make this better.
Honestly. It’s a decent read still. There’s a lot less grammatical errors but some still persist.
The new girl is interesting but nothing memorable.
Smut was again very limited but at least well written.
The intrigue is barebones so a lot of the political machinations between families is forgettable.
I don’t even know what the plot is anymore.
The book continues to be your typical male power fantasy where the MC can do no wrong. I like the premise so it keeps me engaged but the story is lacking in any meaningful character or plot development. The MC quite literally just knows everything to the point of omnipotence, so he hasn’t even needed to use his power since book 1. It’s hard enough to establish stakes when the mc can rewind time but to make it so NOTHING happens to require use of the power is boring.
The author is clueless about grammar and that took a lot out of the reading experience, often jarring me from it. One of the most annoying times is when he uses "s" inappropriately, for example "a hundred millions" instead of the correct "hundred million". He does that All. The. Time. It's annoying.
Another problem is the constant exposition. About 80% of the book is exposition - explaining who so-and-so is in relation to this or that person, what they did, and how crazy the situation really is, trying to build up suspense and the author fails... hard. He learned to write from shitty Chinese light novels so of course he's clueless about how to properly write English. English might not even be his first language... I wouldn't be surprised.
There's also endless exclamation points. Lastly, he doesn't know how to use quotes, so it's extremely difficult to know who's talking.
Nice read, although I keep wondering if the author is Chinese or this is translated from there. It feels very like manhua; strong male lead, people calling eachother brother and sister all the time, pretty strong female characters although less so than the male. And finally different high powered families, which is one of the main points in the Chinese stories as well.
Well, well, well...things are moving along! I am entirely intrigued by how thoroughly Alex has charted his course. Very spicy and intriguing how he is effectively moving the pieces on the board. How will Jasmine react to the new circumstances. Truly Interesting. Great read! On to book three!
I really like the idea and story. It's a fun read. I just really don't like how casually they want to terminate any pregnancy. At least pause for a second before you kill the baby. Other than that one hang up of mine. This is an awesome story.
This story just keeps getting more and more interesting! I loved the addition and conflict with the Arison family. I’m really looking forward to Alex finally conquering Jasmine! Overall, this a great series and I can’t wait for more!
Very enjoyable, more like a psychological thriller than a Xanthan story
The MC continues to use his OP skillset and knowledge to manipulate people and events into forms beneficial to his interest. Really enjoying the psych aspects of this series.
Another continuation of the story. A new woman is added to the harem, but still main character is running through life very OP. However because of the nature of the harem and the women inside it, they don't really get together like other 'harem' stories. It feels like it will end up being a man with many partners and they are all okay with each other, but never a true harem, but will see as the series continues. I have to give it 4 stars because it could use an editor. Way too many exclamation marks. I listen to books with an app, so I don't hear them, but when reading it gets jarring when you have 7 in 7 sentences in a row.
