It feels good to be reading something other than horror lol. Don't get me wrong I love horror, but I get bored pretty quickly reading the same genre and I'd been in horror since April.

This first full book in the Of the Things Man Made series by Jonathan C. Howard, is unlike any Dystopian Sci-fi I've read before. The world building is amazingly done, and the character growth is evident the further you go.

I really like the premise of this story. Humanity not being seen as some perfect creation but rather the slightly lesser of two evils when compared to the things the Rotundra do. I'm honestly looking forward to the next book and seeing where Adam's new life takes him.

There's some minor editing issues, my biggest concern is an inconsistency that has one of our heroes poisoned, but no one have ever going near him for that attack to have been made. There's absolutely no mention of Leo being scratched or Adam and Kalin grabbing Glenn before fleeing. This is rather large inconsistency that unfortunately prevents me from giving an otherwise great book less than 5 Paws.

I give this book 4 of 5 Paws.

I read a lot of books in many genres, but Unearthed grabbed me and wouldn't let go. The more I read, the more I wanted to know. I couldn't read it fast enough, and afterwards found myself seeing what I could find that was related. The plight of Adam, and humanity in general, highlights the arrogance of those at the top and the struggle for survival, all while giving us an unlikely hero. Not all is lost but it's not going to be easy! Jonathan Howard is a very talented author and I really look forward to additional books by him.
