I didn’t plan to be a runaway bride.
But, standing in the church wearing white and borrowed blue, I realized I didn’t have a choice.
I had to start over.
Even if it meant living—and working—a stone’s throw from the man who doesn’t know he broke my heart a decade ago.
So I stuffed my tulle and tears behind the wheel of a borrowed car, mascara tracking down my cheeks as I made the drive to Willow Bend, Wyoming.
I thought I could handle having Tobias in my life again. Believed after everything I’d gone though, the last thing I’d want is a man’s attention.
But from the second he storms into my office, dark eyes fusing to where I stand, I know I’m screwed. All the feelings I tried running from are still just as close as they ever were. Just as real.
Just as raw.
But feelings aren’t the only thing chasing me.
The dangers of my past are barreling down, hot and angry. Ready to punish me by taking away the only person who’s ever really mattered. The only person who wants me just as I am. The person who will do anything to protect me.
Even if it means sacrificing himself.

ARC Review 📖

This book pulled me in so fast I didn’t stand a chance.

Brooke coming back and crossing paths with Tobias again had me hooked right away, and the tension between them felt so real it had me on edge in the best way. Their story is messy and emotional, but also soft and comforting underneath it all. I felt everything Brooke was holding in, and Tobias being so steady and patient with her just made me fall for him even more.

What really made it special for me was the balance between all that emotion and the warmth of the Bradshaw family. They bring so much life into the story, chaotic, protective, and genuinely funny. Deidre’s presence, the brothers’ banter, those little moments of care, it all made everything feel fuller and more real. Tobias especially stands out, the way he loves so quietly but so deeply just hit differently.

There is also this steady thread of tension running through the story that kept me completely hooked. It is not just about the romance, there is something bigger unfolding in the background and it adds just the right amount of urgency.

By the end I was emotional, attached, and already wanting more. This one just hit all the right notes.

ALC Review (Audiobook) 🎧

The narration added so much to the story. Angelina Rocca and Marcio Catalano made the characters feel natural and distinct, and their voices worked really well together. It was an easy, engaging listen that pulled me in even more.

I was lucky enough to receive both an ARC and an ALC, and being able to immersive read and listen to this story made the whole experience even more special.

Thank you to Hambright PR for the ARC/ALC 📚🎧 forever grateful 🙏🏽

I absolutely love when I can binge a book in a day! Makes my whole day! That’s what this book did!
Anywho, this is the first time I’ve read anything from this author and didn’t realize this was book two in this series. I was pleasantly impressed how much I loved this! When it’s second chance trope I get nervous because it could go either way bad or very well. However this was done very well. 🤗

Brooke your run away bride broken and scared yet brave. I resonated a lot with her. And Tobias ughhh I love him soooo much! He is your definition of I’ll wait the world for you! So patient and sweet. He literally worked on him to get his girl back 🥰🥹 I love it!!!

Their chemistry 🫠🥰🔥 especially in the officeeeee 🥵

Overall I like it super cute

Thank you Janice Whiteaker for the advanced listener copy of your new second chance romance, Unfinished. This is the second book in the Bradshaw Brothers, small town billionaire’s romance series and it did not disappoint. The duet narration was wonderfully done.

Coming back to Willow Bend Wyoming and the Bradshaw family was everything I hoped it would be. Brooke has run from her toxic fiancé, leaving him at the alter, thanks to Deidra, her ex Tobias’ mother… Tobias is bound and determined to not let the one that got away ten years ago, get away again. This was angsty and heartfelt in equal measure with some toxic ex drama and an ongoing mystery. This book kept my attention from the start. Looking forward to the rest of this series!

Janice, huge thank you for this ARC in exchange for my honest review! You have easily become an auto buy & read author for me! I will forever sing your praises!!

Janice, you have me by the throat with this series! I was captivated within the first chapter & my attention never wavered! This was perfectly paced & I enjoyed every page. Janice does a great job writing a heartwarming story that has a little mystery & suspense while also having moments that had me giggling or crying. But wait.. going back to the mystery sprinkled in?? I am so invested like it is unreal. I need all of the answers & now.

I absolutely LOVED Tobias! He was such a unique, caring, funny & determined MMC. The way he truly took care of Brooke had me DOWN BAD & the way he was constantly doing things to show her how much he truly still loved her had me swooning. The way he was fighting for the title of favorite uncle with the other brothers had me ON THE FLOOR laughing!.. this might have been the highlight of the whole novel for me. Janice just did such a phenomenal job writing a caring MMC that had so many good & sweet qualities.

Brooke absolutely stole my heart. Her story was heartbreaking & I was rooting for her immediately.. like right from the wedding scene. Her character was constantly fighting for her freedom & stayed so strong while facing so many hurdles. I loved her so thoroughly & related to her on so many levels. Janice wrote Brooke to be a beautiful & relatable FMC that showed amazing character growth & had a fabulous story arc. PS. Janice did such a good job at doing the runaway bride trope!!

Tobias & Brooke together felt like pure magic... I don't know how else to explain it! The way they constantly cared for one another was top tier. Janice did a wonderful job writing so many tender and beautiful moments that had me tearing up. Like how Tobias was so gentle & patient with Brooke. This was second chance romance done so well!!

Deidra is the absolute GOAT though!! I am literally foaming at the mouth for book three!

Would I suggest this book to a friend? Of course!! Would I carry on with the series? DUH! Would I reread? Yessir!

Ps. Copper 4EVA… Bruno too but specifically Copper ♥️♥️♥️

5 stars isn’t even enough! Tobias and Brooklyn 🤩🤩 this is the BEST second chance romance book I’ve ever read. The way he loves her, the things he does in his life for her when she’s not even in it, ugh. I don’t like giving away much in a book review but this man? Is THE man. The man we all want to have and love. Instant book husband. This couple together is warm, steady, comforting, and pure. Not saying they don’t have steam, because their attraction is ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 but they are so much more than that and it grips my heart and soul in the most perfect way.

And more than the couples in the books, the ENTIRE FAMILY in this series is perfectly dreamy and comforting. The world Janice is weaving with each book is beautifully delicate but strong and solid. From Mom and Dad, to the 5 Bradshaw boys with their own very much individual personalities and problems, to the girls that are coming into the folds, everything just glows honestly. It wraps you up in a warm hug and doesn’t let go.

I’m used to dark romance as it’s what I mostly read but to have this family be so strong, protective and formidable without burying enemies is oddly charming🤣 the Bradshaw boys don’t mess around and Mom and Dad are the fierce protectors of their clan but it’s handled in such different ways than I’m used to reading that it’s really enjoyable and endearing to read. It just fuses my heart and soul even more to this family and this world.

But speaking of dark, there’s a major mystery brewing and building in the background and I totally cannot wait to find out what happens. Every time I have an idea, it gets turned upside down, it’s so compelling. The writing of these books is just simply smart. The way everything is blended, the way the books end and start with overlapping time is fantastic. Seeing different parts of the story happen through different eyes and events is so much fun to read. To have an author so invested, to continually include and remember these minute details, to remind us of the other book without being repetitive or having word vomit, makes the reading so much more enjoyable and engaging. When I tell you Janice weaves a perfectly crafted world, I’m not kidding. And she does it in the most beautiful of ways.

I cannot WAIT for book 3, especially since it’s not at all about who I thought it was going to be! 🤯🙀

Thank you Hambright PR for this ARC, out now.
This is the second book in The Bradshaw Brothers series, and this time we get Brooke and Tobias’ second-chance romance.
Brooke is a runaway bride trying to put her life back together, and naturally Tobias’ mum decides to meddle in the most helpful-but-chaotic way by letting Brooke stay in her house. Because of course she does. Honestly, where would romance books be without a meddling mother with impeccable timing?
Tobias, one of the Bradshaw brothers, is more than happy to have Brooke back in his orbit. He never really stopped caring about her, and getting a second chance feels like everything he didn’t dare hope for. But Brooke and Tobias have history, hurt, and heartbreak between them, and the big question is whether love really is enough the second time around.
I really enjoyed the emotional pull between them. Their connection felt believable, and I liked seeing both of them work through what happened in the past instead of everything being magically fixed with one dramatic kiss. Although, let’s be honest, we do love a dramatic kiss.
I also loved that the mystery thread from Unbroken continues here. It gives the series that extra little hook beyond the romance, and I am absolutely invested now. I need the next Bradshaw brother book immediately, please and thank you.
A heartfelt, romantic, second-chance read with family meddling, unresolved feelings, and just enough mystery to keep me side-eyeing everyone.

Contemporary Romance with Mystery

I’m enjoying this series. I love the Bradshaw brothers. This one is about Tobias and he is the greenest green flag there ever was. It’s the one that got away, protective mmc, abusive relationship survivor fmc, found family, brother banter, cuddly puppies, and our fmc grows and heals beautifully. The added mystery threat aspect is a great addition too!
I especially love the amount of interaction an obvious couple for one of next books couple has in this one. I like that style. It was odd to me that there was so much emotional damage and healing for our fmc from her last relationship but there was never any discussion between our MCs about their own break up and the impact it had on them, and how our fmc learns to trust again. It just happened. I would've like to see a deeper dive into that. Overall I am really enjoying this series!

I received an audiobook and eARC copy from @hambright_pr. The audio was narrated in duet by Angelina Rocca and Marcio Catalano. Though both delivered a fantastic performance! I loved their voice tone and cadence changes across the different characters.

I love a second chance romance, but Unfinished by Janice Whiteaker truly delivers it in a way that feels genuine and earned. A man who knows what he has because he lost it and is willing to do everything he can to prove he’s worth another chance? Sign me up every time.

What made this story stand out for me was how he handled that second chance. There was no manipulation, no pushing boundaries, no trying to force feelings. He simply showed up, consistently and honestly, letting his actions speak for him. It felt refreshing and real, and honestly, that kind of emotional maturity is what makes a romance hit so much harder.

Janice Whiteaker has such a gift for writing green flag male characters, and this one might be one of my favorites. The growth between both characters, the way their history shaped their present, and how they slowly found their way back to each other made the entire story so enjoyable.

I truly enjoyed this book from start to finish. It was heartfelt, satisfying, and a perfect example of why the second chance trope will always have my heart.

Spice: 2/5

Deidre Bradshaw is now 2 for 2 in partnering up / marrying off her sons. There’s now 3 to go and Tucker is next in line.

This is the story of Tobias and Brooke. Their story took a turn 9 years ago. Tobias has lived with that regret ever since Brooke moved to California. Brooke is back but a lot has transpired in her life over those 9 years and none of it is good.

Their redemption story ends in an HEA but it’s a ride the get there.

While parts of this book are heavy, there’s also a lot of fun banter between the brothers.

There’s also the backstory of “dead Dan” as well as other oddities that have taken place and continue to escalate that add mystery and a level of danger to the storylines (a theme of the series that started in book 1 with Titus and Mariah).

Excited for Tucker’s book next.

UNFINISHED by JANICE WHITEAKER ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Unfinished is the second (#2) book in THE BRADSHAW BROTHERS series.

Escaping a violent, controlling relationship on what was to be her wedding day, Brooke runs to the only place she feels safe - Willow Bend Wyoming, to the home of her first love, even though she hasn’t seen Tobias Bradshaw in almost a decade.

As Brooke and Tobias spend time together it becomes clear that Tobias isn’t the same self centred, immature lad he once was. Brooke appreciates this new mature, thoughtful, not to mention muscular version of Tobias and it doesn’t take long for the chemistry between them to re-ignite.

But Brooke’s change in fortune doesn’t last long and when her past comes to call she could be in danger of losing the most important thing in her life……

———————————
This book contains subjects that may cause upset. Please check trigger warnings before reading*

I’m going to say from the start, I absolutely loved this, the second book in ‘The Bradshaw Brothers’ series, so much so that I’m looking forward to the rest of the series already!

The chemistry between the MCs is strong, it’s obvious that neither of them has really got over the break up of their previous relationship some 9 years previous.

Tobias feels somewhat responsible for everything Brooke experienced and goes all out to make sure that he moves at Brookes pace whilst making it clear he’d welcome her back into his life. Brooke is reluctant to move into a new relationship quickly, she still feels great guilt and responsibility for letting herself be forced into an unwanted situation.

I absolutely love the banter between the Bradshaw brothers, both face to face and via text. It’s clear that whilst they bicker endlessly they are actually really close and very protective and supportive of each other. Their desire to one up each other and their avoidance of their mums interference is hilarious. Their mum Deirdre is also a force to be reckoned with and adds to the humorous banter.

All that humour is the perfect foil to the very heavy subjects covered at times. The DV, threat, and family angst that Brooke experienced is related in a sympathetic and believable manner, it’s believable and a painful read at times.

As well as each book in this series focusing in on one brother, there is an underlying mysterious thread that is running through the series. It’s really interesting and compelling. I’m really enjoying this thread as we get a few hints as to what is going on in each book which draws you in to want to read the next book.

The books are written in an engaging, easy manner and they really draw you in so the pages seem to turn themselves.

I read an ebook copy of this book, with around 390 pages, great editing and a male model cover in fitting with the first book in the series.

With thanks to Janice Whitaker and Hambright PR for an early chance to read this great book. All comments are my own honest, unbiased opinion.

Fantastic Story & Narration🎧 Compelling & Emotionally Moving!

Unfinished
The Bradshaw Brothers, Book 2
By: Janice Whiteaker
Narrated by: Angelina Rocca, Marcio Catalano

Janice Whiteaker pens another fabulous novel, a small town romance that captivates your attention and tugs at your heartstrings the entire time. It is great to be back in Willow Bend, Wyoming, to spend time with the Bradshaws again and in the amazing world Whiteaker created. This second book of the series is Tobias and Brooklyn’s story, a beautifully crafted second-chance romance that builds naturally and was fun to watch. Brooke is Tobias’ one regret, the one he let get away, feeling the same even ten years later. Brooke’s life did not turn out exactly as planned after moving to California, winding up in a relationship with a controlling man, now in too deep not knowing how to get out of it because it went too far now that it is her wedding day. Tobias’ mom, Deidre, kept in touch after their breakup, was there for the wedding, comes to her rescue, helping her to escape from making the biggest mistake of her life. Not sure what to do or where to go, with enough gas in the tank, and after one quick stop, she drives straight to Willow Bend. Thanks to Deidre’s hospitality, Brooke falls right in with the Bradshaws, who are everything in a family she never had, and accept her with open arms. Tobias sees it as a second chance to undo the mistake he made by letting her go, starting with earning her trust and then winning her heart back. My heart went out to Brooke for what she went through, not only with her controlling ex, but her family too. She was where she belonged, with people who had her back, allowing her to put her past behind and be the person she was, while her heart healed one day at a time. But her ex was not giving up on her or letting her go easily, determined to make things more difficult for her. This is another wonderfully written, multi-layered story with the perfect balance of drama, angst, some charming and heartwarming moments, heartfelt emotions, and a wonderful, meant to be, romance. There is an ongoing mystery in the series that leaves you intrigued and has you thinking, wondering who is behind it. I loved the family dynamics, the hilarious chats, and the rivalry amongst the brothers, all in good fun. Janice Whiteaker, thank you for another fantastic story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧Angelina Rocca and Marcio Catalano deliver a fantastic performance, bringing them to life, giving them voices that are fitting and believable. Both embodied their roles completely, grasping every aspect of their characters’ personalities, both nailing it as the two leads, Brooke and Tobias. They were just as amazing performing the roles of the side/secondary characters too. These two are a fabulous narration team, with talent and voices that complement each other and a compelling performance that hooks you to the story. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to.

Two brothers down, three to go. While all other brothers are reticent about finding their HEA, Tobias has been ready for years. But he actually already found the right person; it had just been the wrong time. Now is the time, and this second-chance romance delivers.

This time around, their mom didn’t even have to meddle too much. She just did the right thing, and everything started falling into place. Brooke may have had her reservations, having just left a toxic and abusive relationship, but her draw to Tobias and their bond is undeniable.

The story never gets into the nitty-gritty of the abuse Brooke was subjected to from her ex, but instead shows the ramifications in the way she reacts to things. Nothing over the top, all subtly done, but done very well. There is also more focus on the way she was separated from her friends, work, and social life over time. And the abuse (neglect, narcissism, gaslighting) she received from her parents is more overt. They are terrible people. This made the support of Tobias and his family all the more special to Brooke. She had never had unconditional love and unquestionable loyalty. I loved seeing her soak it all in.

I always appreciate open and honest talk about therapy in books, especially those with heavy issues. Tobias makes no secret with Brooke that he had, and continues to have, therapy because he knew he had to work on how he reacted to situations. He also gently nudges others to get the help they may need when he feels it could help.

While I love a second-chance romance, sometimes they fall flat. Either the characters haven’t grown and changed over years apart, which makes no sense, or they go back to where they were when they initially separated, putting their relationship back into a precarious position. Both Brooke and Tobias, at different times, realize they not only have a nostalgic love for one another, but have fallen in love with the different iteration of the other. A more mature love that accepts flaws and understands compromise.

The twists and conflicts in the last third of this book don’t all come from where expected. The overall problems the Bradshaw family is facing are still there, and the mystery deepens.

Since this is a series about all of the brothers finding their match, I also want to comment on how the more I get to know them, the more I can see their unique personalities. When they are all together, they are a hoot. And as much as they mess with one another, the love and devotion run deep.

Left another one at the altar… and came right back into his arms

4.5 ⭐️ | 2.75 🌶️

I did not expect my first dive into an Unfinished by Janice Whiteaker to hit me this hard but here we are, emotionally compromised and already impatient for the next book.

Let’s start with the chaos: a runaway bride, mascara-streaked tears, and a one-way ticket back to the past she never really escaped. Brooke crashing back into Willow Bend? Deliciously messy. Her working at Tobias’s company? Even messier. And Tobias himself? Walking, talking unresolved tension with a side of “I never got over you.” Yes please.

This is second chance romance done right: raw, uncomfortable, and absolutely electric. The kind where history isn’t just backstory, it’s a living, breathing thing sitting between them in every scene. Brooke isn’t just running from a wedding; she’s running from years of control, pain, and emotional damage. Watching her slowly reclaim herself? Powerful. Messy. Necessary.

And Tobias? Oh, he’s not here to play it cool. This man has been heartbroken for nearly a decade and has zero intention of letting her slip away again. The tension? IMMACULATE. The longing? PALPABLE. The way he sees her (really sees her) even when she’s at her most fragile? Yeah… that did things to me.

But don’t get too comfortable in the romance bubble, because this book comes with teeth. The suspense element creeps in like a storm you can’t outrun, adding real stakes to an already emotionally loaded story. Brooke’s past isn’t done with her and it’s not pulling punches.

What I loved most is how this story handles growth and healing. It doesn’t romanticize trauma, but it does show what it looks like to fight your way out of it and to be loved through it without losing yourself. It’s about choosing yourself, even when it’s terrifying. Especially then.

Now… let’s talk about that ending. Because wow. I’m satisfied… and also absolutely not okay. We are given just enough to keep breathing, but not enough to stop screaming internally. I need answers. I need closure. I need the next book immediately.

Huge thanks to Hambright PR for the e-ARC, and major congrats to Janice Whiteaker on this release (April 24th); I will definitely be back for more.

If you love your romance angsty, a little dangerous, and soaked in unresolved tension… consider this your sign.

I binged this within a day of the amazing team at Hambright PR sending me this ARC + ALC. Thank you so much Hambright PR and Janice Whiteaker for this phenomenal experience of immersive reading this duet narrated ALC with the eARC. This is my honest, voluntary review.

After I devoured the first in this series, Unbroken, I HAD TO HAVE the second. Tobias and Brooke somehow made me immediately fall for them. Janice is so artful with her writing style and the narrators were phenomenal (believe they are the same as in the first audiobook).

Anyone who's been through unrequited, unfinished and reclaimed love knows this story and the way Janice weaved it felt like the first time I experienced it but make it MORE heartwrenching.

This felt like a romantic suspense. Call it cr@ck because I need the third book ASAP.

**⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Book Review: Unfinished by Janice Whiteaker**

I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Hambright PR for gifting me the ARC/ALC of *Unfinished*, the second book in the Bradshaw Brothers series. This book is a true second-chance romance, and it's remarkable how Whiteaker navigates the complexities of love after a decade apart.

From the very beginning, the pacing of the story is spot-on, pulling me in so completely that I finished the audiobook in a single day. The intricate plot and character development kept me engaged throughout. Each book in this series can stand alone, but there's an underlying mystery that unfolds progressively, adding a layer of suspense that makes the reading experience even more compelling.

The story centers around Brooklyn, a quintessential runaway bride escaping a toxic, abusive relationship. For years, she has been trapped by her parents' expectations and her partner’s wealth, physical and emotional abuse. Seeking refuge with the Bradshaw family, we witness her journey of rediscovery as she slowly rebuilds her self-esteem. Brooklyn starts as a timid character, but her transformation is beautifully portrayed as she learns to trust again, largely thanks to Tobias.

Tobias is the embodiment of a protector. His love language is acts of service, and he dedicates himself to reassuring Brooklyn of her worth and safety. Over time, he helps her break down the walls she has built around her heart, proving that love can indeed flourish after hardship. Their relationship evolves at a realistic pace, allowing readers to feel the tension and intimacy build naturally.

The family dynamics within the Bradshaw family are another highlight of the book. Mama Bradshaw, in particular, adds a delightful touch of humor and warmth as she meddles in her sons’ lives. I found myself eagerly anticipating the stories of the other brothers, eager to see how their narratives will unfold.

Overall, *Unfinished* is a beautifully crafted second-chance romance that intertwines personal growth, love, and family bonds. Janice Whiteaker has done an excellent job of weaving these elements together, making this a highly enjoyable read. I can’t wait to see where the series goes next!

📚EBOOK📚 & 🎧AUDIO 🎧

I received both the ARC and ALC of Unfinished by Janice Whiteaker through Hambright PR as part of their influencer team, and this was my first time reading this author. I’ll admit—I’m usually a read-in-order kind of reader, and I didn’t realize this was book two in The Bradshaw Brothers series when I signed up. While it can be read as a standalone, there’s definitely an underlying family subplot that would hit harder if you start from book one. Not mandatory, but highly recommended if you love full family dynamics.

This one had me hooked right from the synopsis. Runaway bride? ✔️ Second chance? ✔️ Small town + romantic suspense + hurt/comfort? Say less. The story kicks off with our heroine literally running from the altar and landing in Willow Bend, Wyoming—only to come face-to-face with the man who unknowingly broke her heart years ago. And Tobias… yeah, he’s that guy. The kind who has always loved her, even when she wasn’t there to see it. The quiet devotion? The way he shows up for her without hesitation?
Absolute swoon material. We all want one of him, let’s be honest 😩💕

I also grabbed the audiobook, and the duet narration by Angelina Rocca and Marcio Catalano was chef’s kiss. They brought so much emotion and depth to the characters—it felt immersive and real, like you’re right there with them through every intense moment.

And speaking of intense… this book has teeth. The suspense creeps in slowly but surely, like a storm building on the horizon, and it adds a layer of urgency that keeps you turning pages. The danger from her past isn’t just background noise—it matters, and it raises the stakes in a way that blends perfectly with the romance.

That said, I did want more. More drama, more details about her life in California, more depth in certain emotional beats. And the ending? It was good—but it left me a little unsatisfied… not in a bad way, more like “wait, I’m not ready to let go yet.” It definitely feels like there’s more story coming, and I need it.

Overall, a solid 4-star read for me—emotional, swoony, with just enough suspense to keep things gripping. I’ll definitely be going back to read book one 👀📚

First off, where have I been because the Bradshaw Brothers?! They. Are. Everything. I went in expecting a typical second chance romance and what I got was so much more — pining, yearning, raw vulnerability, a woman trying to find herself after unspeakable trauma, and a found family who furiously protect those they love — all executed so well by Angelina Rocca and Marcio Catalano, making for an amazing immersive read!

🖤Runaway Bride & Pining Hero
🤎Second Chance
🖤Slow Burn
🤎He Hasn’t Been With Anyone Since Her
🖤Small Town Romantic Suspense
🤎Hurt/Comfort
🖤Meddling Family Complete with Fun Group Chats

Brooke never meant to be a runaway bride back in her hometown to start over, even if it means working with the man who broke her heart ten years ago. The second Tobias storms into her office, all of those feelings from ten years ago come back to the surface — just like the past she’s running from decides to come back with a vengeance…

Tobias and Brooke didn’t work out when they were younger — he didn’t want to move to California and didn’t fight for her to stay. In the 10 years they’re apart, Tobias hasn’t been with anyone else and worked to be the man Brooke deserves. Let that sink in. 10. Years. This man knew who had his heart and no other woman could come close so he didn’t bother. HUSBAND. MATERIAL. When Brooke is back in his life? Tobias will NOT mess up his second chance. She’s sad? He gives her a puppy. When she’s sick? He takes care of her and is impervious to the man-flu. He wants her to stay? He builds her a pool, gets her and her friend lunch every day, and is there. Tobias is there in any way Brooke needs on her healing journey, expecting nothing in return. When their relationship develops beyond friendship (though with the tension there it was never truly just friends) this man is so focused and dedicated to her pleasure that he 💦 in his pants. Whew! I cannot. Tobias is patient, protective and all too easy to fall in love with.

I am completely obsessed with the Bradshaw family and already grabbed the prequel novella and book 1 (these are interconnected standalones!) to hold me over until the next book comes out! 10/10 recommend!

I thought I’d recovered after Unbroken… and then Unfinished came along and gently shattered my heart all over again.

There’s something about Tobias and Brooke’s story that just lingers. Maybe it’s the history between them, or maybe it’s the way their connection never truly disappeared, it just waited.

This is second-chance romance done in a way that feels both comforting and emotionally charged. Tobias fell first, fell hard, and never really moved on… and I loved that the story stayed true to that. It’s rare to see that level of unwavering devotion without it being diluted, and it made his character incredibly compelling. He’s steady, patient, and completely focused on giving Brooke the space and safety she needs to heal.

And Brooke… my heart ached for her. From the moment she re-enters the story, you can feel the weight of everything she’s been through. What stood out most to me was her growth, how she slowly finds her strength again, learns to trust, and allows herself to be supported. Those moments where she stands up for herself? So, satisfying.

The Bradshaw family continues to be one of my favourite parts of this series. The dynamic between the brothers is chaotic in the best way, and the ongoing “greatest uncle” rivalry had me smiling more than once. There’s such a strong sense of belonging woven into this story, and Brooke stepping into that found family felt incredibly rewarding.

I also really enjoyed the balance between romance and the underlying suspense arc. The mystery building in the background is becoming more layered with each book, and I’m genuinely curious to see where it all leads.

In terms of pacing, it does move fairly quickly, but it didn’t take away from my enjoyment, it actually matched the intensity of their connection.

Overall, this felt like a story about healing, second chances, and finding your way back to something that was always meant to be.

If you love fiercely loyal heroes, emotional second chances, found family, and a romance that feels both soft and strong at the same time… you’ll absolutely want to pick this up.

Thank you so much to the author and The Author Agency for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I think I might still be holding my breath after finishing Unfinished. If you are a fan of Janice Whiteaker, you already know she has this incredible gift for writing "protector" heroes who actually make you feel safe while you are reading, but Tobias Bradshaw? He just set up a completely new bar.

The story starts with a total "heart-in-your-throat" moment: Brooke is standing at the altar in a wedding dress, realizing her life is about to become a permanent cage, and she just... bolts. She drives straight back to Willow Bend, Wyoming, back to the only family that ever actually felt like home, the Bradshaw’s, even though it means facing Tobias, the man she left ten years ago.
What makes this book hit so different is the way in which it manages Brooke’s healing. She is not just this "runaway bride" for the drama of it; she is a survivor of a relationship that has slowly chipped away at her soul. Watching her land in Willow Bend and realize that she is allowed to take up space, to have a voice, and to be protected was genuinely moving.

And Tobias, oh boy! This guy has been living a "half-life" for a decade because he never really truly let go of her. He is not loud or aggressive about his feelings; he is steady. He shows up. He builds things. And he waits. The way in which he respects Brook’s boundaries while making it clear he is never letting her go again is the definition of "Green Flag Energy."

Then, of course, there is the Bradshaw family. If you have not met them yet, be prepared to want to move into their compound immediately. The brothers’ banter is hilarious, the group chats are top-tier, and Mama Deidre is such an absolute legend who takes absolutely no nonsense. They provide this warm, chaotic safety net that balances out the darker mystery that is slowly simmering in the background of this series.

Unfinished is emotional, tense, and deeply romantic. It is a story about finding the courage to run away from the wrong life so you can finally walk toward the right one. I am already counting down the minutes until we get the next brother's book because Janice has me completely hooked on this world.

A huge thank you to The Author Agency and Janice Whiteaker for this amazing ARC!

By now, you should have consumed Undeterred and Unbroken, and have become addicted to the Bradshaw family just as much as I have, so Tobias and Brooke's second chance story feels like coming home.
Brooke left Tobias for California when they were young, a choice that she found out was hard to reverse. Fortunately for her, Diedre is in the right place at the right time to help.
And as we all know, Deidre Bradshaw is a force of nature! I adore her attention to her sons lives, and her need to make sure they get the HEAs they deserve. The banter between the brothers is fun and I love their panic about their mother's attention to changing their bachelor statuses! Very easy to connect with these characters, and their situations. Love it!!

Tobias fell hard and fast for young Brooke, but since her removal from his life, he has worked hard to be ready for her return, hoping it would happen, but not sure it ever would. Throwing himself into vehicle armament for McKinley Security Systems (the company he runs with his brothers) has kept him focused on something other than his loneliness. I love how determined he is to be the safe and steady place for Brooke to land, after finding out she returned home from the west coast.
Their reconnection and rekindling of feelings buried but not gone was very entertaining, and I enjoyed the sizzling connection between them. Very easy to get lost in, and cheer for, and I enjoyed how effortlessly she just fell back into this family, and how they protect her. She needs Mariah and Maren's friendship and I really loved how that all came together for them.

But this isn't just a second chance story. Things at McKinley aren't at all settled or safe after the incident with Dan (IYKYK), and Pierce has sent some members of his Alaskan Securities team to assist with the safety of their company. Something dangerous is happening, and the mystery surrounding why, and who is orchestrating things, is just expanding. I adore how this author seamlessly integrates the crossover characters and pushes the intrigue higher in each story.
I am on the edge of my seat, wondering where the next danger is going to pop up, and when.
Having read all of the Alaskan Security books (and spin offs) I will assure you that knowing all the backstories and characters is the BEST way to enjoy this storyline. Not a "have to", but definitely worth your time to have done so. I highly recommend the creativity and craftmanship of this author, and cannot wait for the next new release.

I was fortunate to receive an ARC (thank you) and happily leave my thoughts.

Thank you to Hambright PR and the author, Janice Whiteaker, for the advanced audio for an honest review.

This was my first book by this author and the second in The Bradshaw Brothers series. While it can be read as an interconnected standalone, I do think reading in order would enhance the experience. I found myself wanting a bit more context for some of the side characters.

This story follows Brooke and Tobias, who were once deeply in love before life pulled them apart for nearly a decade. Tobias never stopped loving her, while Brooke tried to move on only to find herself in a relationship that slowly stripped away who she was. On the day of her wedding, everything comes to a breaking point, and with the help of Tobias’s mother, Deidre, she escapes and runs to Willow Bend, Wyoming with nothing. When Tobias finds her there, it sets off a powerful journey of healing, rediscovery, and second chances.

As someone with an abusive past, this story hit deeply. The author captures the complexity of losing yourself in a controlling relationship and the emotional work it takes to find your way back. Brooke’s journey felt raw, honest, and handled with care, while still balancing moments of humor, compassion, and connection that kept the story from feeling too heavy.

The side characters added depth and warmth, creating a strong sense of family and community. And Tobias? A true green flag MMC. He was patient, protective, and unwavering in his love. As someone who usually leans toward morally grey men, I was surprised by how much I absolutely swooned over him.

I experienced this on audiobook, and it elevated the story even more. Angelina Rocca and Marcio Catalano delivered emotional, immersive performances that brought every moment to life. The duet narration added so much depth to the experience.

The only reason this isn’t a full 5 stars for me is that I felt slightly disconnected at times due to coming into the series on book two but overall, this was a powerful, emotional read that I would absolutely recommend.

If you love second chance romance, healing after trauma, found family, and a man who shows up every single time…this one is definitely worth picking up.

He was the past she ran from… and the only place she could ever belong.

This book didn’t just hook me—it wrapped me up in flannel, heartbreak, and second chances and refused to let go.

Brooke rolling into Willow Bend as a runaway bride? Already iconic behavior. The girl said “I choose chaos” and drove straight into unresolved feelings, emotional landmines, and the man who unknowingly shattered her a decade ago. And Tobias? This man does not enter a scene—he storms in like a thunderhead with eyes locked and tension thick enough to cut with a butter knife.

The chemistry between Brooke and Tobias is the kind that simmers under the surface until it boils over. Every glance, every word, every moment felt loaded—like their history was breathing between them. You can feel the years they lost, the pain they buried, and the undeniable pull that never really left.

And let’s talk about that emotional layering:
• 💔 Second chance romance done RIGHT
• 🏔️ Small town Wyoming vibes that feel cozy but charged
• 🔥 Slow-burn tension with sparks that hurt so good
• ⚠️ A past that refuses to stay buried, adding real stakes

What really hit was how raw Brooke’s journey felt. She isn’t just running from a wedding—she’s running from everything that tried to break her. Watching her rebuild herself while being forced to confront Tobias again? Deliciously painful.

And Tobias… listen. This man being all in without even knowing the full story? Protective, intense, quietly wrecked by feelings he doesn’t understand yet? I ate that up.

By the time the danger closes in and everything is on the line, the emotional payoff hits like a freight train. The kind where you’re clutching your chest thinking, “they better survive this or I will riot.”

Final verdict:
This is second chance romance with teeth—tender, tense, and packed with heart. If you love runaway brides, unresolved history, and a man who would burn the world down for the woman he loves… this one’s going to own you.

And honestly? I’d let Tobias ruin my life just a little.

Unfinished by Janice Whiteaker is book 2 in the Bradshaw Brother series and follows Tobias and Brooke’s story. Tobias has only ever loved one woman and he let her get away. Brooke moved to California for her career, met someone, fell in love and is about to walk down the aisle to get married. In comes Deidra Bradshaw… Deidra takes one look at Brooke and instantly offers her a way out of the wedding that Brooke does not want to happen. All I can say is, we love a meddling Deidra Bradshaw.

Brooke escapes California to find herself back in Wyoming at Tobias’s mom’s house, of which Tobias has no idea any of this has happened until he runs into Brooke. Tobias is determined to show Brooke that he has changed and can be the man that she needs and deserves. Meanwhile, Brooke is doing all she can to find herself and to heal from the abusive relationship she just got out of. However, Tobias is making it awfully hard not to fall in love with him.

The chemistry between Tobias and Brooke is there from the beginning, and you can feel the pull between the two of them. Brooke starts off very unsure of herself, and a shell of who she used to be. I loved seeing her character growth through the book, and seeing her come out of her shell and rediscover her voice with Tobias's support. Tobias is a walking green flag, and will do anything and everything within his power to take care of Brooke and support her.

The Bradshaw family is absolutely amazing, and you can tell that they will protect their family and those they love (even Maren... Trevor your time is coming). I loved the snippets of the different group chats in this book as well. Needless to say, I am hooked and cannot wait to see what's in store for the rest of the family.

Also, I am very intrigued by the underlying suspense plot, and am itching to find out who and why MSS is being targeted.

Audiobook - I love the dual narration, Angelina Rocca and Marcio Catalano embraced the characters and really brought them to life. This was an easy listen, and kept me engaged throughout the whole book.

I don’t even know where to start because this book absolutely wrecked me in the best possible way. UNFINISHED?? More like I am emotionally UNWELL after finishing it.

Brooklyn running from her own wedding had me hooked instantly. Like… the drama, the desperation, the I have no choice but to save myself energy? I was already clutching my chest. And then you drop her right into Willow Bend… right back into Tobias?? EXCUSE ME.

TOBY. 😩
This man walked in and I swear the air changed. The tension?? The history?? The way he doesn’t even know he broke her all those years ago but still feels everything anyway?? I was screaming. Crying. Kicking my feet like an idiot.

And Brooklyn… I just wanted to hug her and also shake her a little because GIRL TALK TO HIM 😭 but also I felt her fear and her pain so deeply. The past chasing her, the danger creeping closer, the way she keeps trying to protect everyone by holding everything in… it HURT.

The chemistry between them is unreal. It’s not just sparks, it’s full-on wildfire. Every look, every argument, every almost-confession had me holding my breath. And when the truth starts coming out??? I was DONE. Emotionally obliterated.

And don’t even get me started on the protective energy. Toby would literally burn the world down for her and I ate up every second of it. The stakes felt so real too, like the danger wasn’t just background noise… it was right there, closing in, making everything more intense and urgent.

This book is messy in the best way. It’s raw, emotional, angsty, romantic, and just completely consuming. The kind of story that makes your chest ache while you’re reading and then leaves you staring at the wall when it’s over.

Toby and Brooklyn own a piece of my soul now and I’m not getting it back.

5 stars, no notes, just feelings. So many feelings.

Second-chance romance at its finest.

I loved Tobias and Brooklyn. Even after spending nearly ten years apart (a separation he fully admits was his fault), their connection is still undeniable. Their first meeting in the kitchen of his parents’ house was one of my favorite moments—they slipped back into what felt natural, even while internally panicking. The suspense woven throughout the story kept me turning pages, and while Tobias and Brooklyn’s arc reaches a satisfying resolution, an overarching mystery remains that will keep me invested in the series

The character growth for both Tobias and Brooklyn was especially compelling. Tobias’s certainty that he wouldn’t let her go if there was any chance for them completely melted my heart. Brooklyn’s strength in leaving an abusive and manipulative relationship was equally powerful. Finding safety in Willow Bend—with her friend, Tobias’s mom, felt like the beginning of something healing and hopeful. Watching that healing unfold, alongside the deepening friendship and rekindled love between them, was beautifully done. I especially appreciated that Tobias was committed to moving at Brooklyn’s pace, even though he was all in from the moment he knew she was back.

Janice Whiteaker handles heavy topics like abuse, domestic violence, and narcissism with grace and sensitivity. Balancing that depth is the warmth and humor of the Bradshaw family, especially the brothers. Their banter and group texts had me laughing out loud more than once. And their mom? Absolutely delightful. If you’ve read the prequel, you already know she’s a no-nonsense, lovable meddler who plays a wonderful role in each of her sons’ (and nephew’s) lives.

This book delivers a full range of emotions, from tension and heartbreak to laughter and love. It’s a fantastic blend of suspense, romance, and big, close-knit family energy.

OMG! I loved this book! This is why I'm such a fan of Janice and her writing and have been for years! I was all in right from beginning to end and Brooke & Tobias didn’t just steal my heart…they fully claimed it and just made themselves at home🖤

Their connection was perfect - it felt real in that quiet, undeniable way that builds instead of explodes. And Tobias? Absolute top-tier book boyfriend. Protective without being overbearing, confident without the red flags…just pure green-flag energy wrapped in a very sexy package. I love how she writes her protector MMCs and Tobias was no exception...just sweet and sexy all in one hot man!

The Bradshaw Brothers as a whole? Dangerously addictive. I’m not saying I need one…but I’m also not not saying it 👀

I’m a sucker for a second-chance romance, and this one delivers in the best way. Nine years apart, and when they find their way back, it feels earned. No forced drama, no unnecessary chaos…just history, growth, and those lingering feeling finally getting their moment.

The slow burn was burning, the banter was sharp, playful, and so easy to fall into. Add in the small-town charm, strong family bonds, and characters that feel like people you actually know, and it just works. Janice absolutely delivers!

And then there’s that thread of suspense woven through it all, adding just enough tension to keep your heart doing that little anxious flutter. It’s messy in the best way…full of emotion, longing, and those moments that hit a little too close to home.

This is the kind of story that doesn’t just stay on the page. It lingers. It settles in. It makes itself comfortable and refuses to leave 💫

I cannot wait for the next book...each one leaves me longing for more!

Thank you so much #janicewhiteacker and #theauthoragency for the ARC of this book - it was fabulous!

Unfinished
By: Jance Whiteaker
Narrated By: Angelina Rocca & Marcio Catalano

A determined, big-hearted mom who refuses to let her sons miss out on life beyond work and isn’t afraid to nudge a little romance into the mix! Just like we saw in Unbroken, she’s already worked her magic with Titus and Mariah… and honestly, I’m here for it.

Brooke and Tobias? Their journey is everything. They needed time to grow, even if it meant heartbreak when she headed to California and he stayed behind. But Tobias never wavered, his heart had one destination: Brooke. For him, it was always her. No question. No backup plan. And the way their story unfolds? So beautifully written it just pulls you in.

Brooke’s growth really shines. Coming from a difficult family dynamic, she carries deep insecurities but watching her discover what love, support, and real family look like is incredibly powerful. The way she and Tobias learn to love each other out loud? Pure magic. The chemistry, the passion, the unconditional love it’s all there (and yes… maybe they do need a soundproof office 😏).

And let’s talk about the Bradshaw brothers because WOW. The loyalty, the protection, the banter… they show up for Brooke in the best way. It’s the kind of family dynamic that makes you laugh, swoon, and wish you could be part of it. Also, I need to know who’s actually winning the “best uncle” title here?

Jance Whiteaker delivers a perfect mix of romance, suspense, and strong family bonds that keeps you hooked from page one. I’m completely invested and dying to uncover the deeper mystery behind all the family drama because you just know there’s more to the story.

And the narration? Absolutely next level. Angelina Rocca and Marcio Catalano didn’t just tell the story, they brought it to life with energy, emotion, and so much charm. Total perfection.
