Fans of dark magic, secret bloodlines, and slow-burn reverse harem romance will devour this twisty, enemies-to-lovers academy series.
I didn’t ask to be special.
I sure as hell didn’t ask to be dragged through some glowing portal by a stranger with eyes as cold as diamonds.
But when a letter shows up—talking about bloodlines, magic, and something called the Veil—my already shitty life gets ripped apart.
Now I’m standing inside Blackthorn Academy, where monsters wear student uniforms and have factions, and humans like me aren’t supposed to exist.
Except…I’m not just human. Not anymore.
Powers are waking up inside me—and by waking up, I mean throwing temper tantrums and exploding out of me at really bad times.
Everyone here keeps staring like I’m some kind of ticking time bomb. They whisper like I can’t hear them. Plot like I’m not five steps ahead. And a few of them? They look at me like they’ve already made up their minds about what I am.
Too bad for them—I’m not here to play nice. I’m here to survive.
They say this school will protect me.
They’re lying.
Because something dark is coming through the Veil…and it’s coming for me.
If you love morally gray love interests, powerful heroines, and forbidden bonds, dive into Veilborn Academy.
*Reverse Harem *Paranormal *Multi-1st-PoV *Academy Setting *Unique FMC *Prophecy *Mixed supe harem *Building Harem (3?) *Slow Burn *Book 1 / 4 Intriguing start to series My first read of this authors and I did enjoy this book 🙂 our FMC Lindsay believes she’s human; however she’s portalled to an academy where she soon discovers she’s got a well of power yet it’s like no one else’s there and somehow links her to the Veil (the ether between worlds) 🙈 not only that but she gains a mark and somehow attracts the attention of four males at the academy all who appear to have different views on her and her danger 😅 although it’s apparent there’s connections there’s no seggsual scenes in this book - looking forward to that developing in future books! I did like this book, I just felt it needed a couple of answers in places to substantiate the story and give it a little more depth. But I would continue to read the rest of the series as I am intrigued and I want to know how it all links 😃
Hmm don’t know how I feel yes the book was good and I enjoyed the human getting thrown into the deep end but this pulling between characters left me a bit annoyed and not focused whole on the plot line.
Wow! This was a good one. I’m elated to have discovered a new author (new to me), who writes RH Paranormal Romance. I’ve grown obsessed with them over the past couple of years. This checked off all of my boxes without being laced with sexual scenes that can sometimes dominate a RH to the point that there isn’t any mental connection, character or relationship building. Just porn on a page. This actually has no $ex scenes, a shared kiss or two and building tensions. I guess this is a slow-slow burn. But the lack of fiery passion never took away from the romance building. Well done.
Although, in book 1 we don’t get up close and personal with each character, by obtaining background stories and answers to some mysteries relating to their real interest in the FL; we got more of each character building a closeness with the FL. Even in their own point of view chapters it’s more centered around her and their budding feeling for her, with very small glimpses into their actual lives. I’m hoping that in the next book, we get more personal pov’s from the other characters.
Moreover, there were hints of the FL not being what people thought she was. The whole “Human” thing died in the beginning of the book, so what else do people think she is? Midway we are told what she’s supposed to be, but there is still mention after that, that she may not be even that (don’t want to spoil it). Therefore, on the FL’s true identity I’m a little confused. Hopefully book 2 will solidify what her origin and purpose truly is. Also, if she’s such a threat with practically the realms coming after her, she’s going to need another couple of mates/teathers/bonds (whatever) who are extremely powerful or none of them stand a chance.
Moreover, I love the female bff, wish to see more of her in the next book as well. Every RH with strong male characters needs a snarky & slightly reckless female best friend to balance out the masculinity.
All-in-all, this was a great start to a series. Besides writing a deeper relationship with each main character and a few more questions answered, I’m hooked. Book 2 can’t come fast enough.
Oh I forgot to add, I read this in two days. I started but had to work (this is why I buy the audible companions, but didn’t see an audiobook yet). I came back the next night and read through the night. It’s 3:53am here in NYC and I’m going to need a ton of coffee to function today. I just couldn’t put it down!!!

I went into The Hidden Mark expecting to be instantly hooked, and while it didn’t quite give me that can’t-stop-turning-pages feeling, it still managed to pull me in with its world, its mystery, and the promise of what’s coming next ✨📖
This story followed Lindsay, a heroine who didn’t ask to be special and definitely didn’t ask to be dragged through a glowing portal by a stranger with ice-cold eyes 😮💨❄️. One minute she was living her already messy human life, and the next she was standing inside Blackthorn Academy, a place where monsters wore student uniforms, factions ruled the halls, and humans weren’t supposed to exist… except Lindsay wasn’t fully human anymore. Her powers awakened violently—exploding, misfiring, and making her a walking target—and it was clear from the start that something dark beyond the Veil had its sights set on her 🩸🖤.
Plot-wise, I genuinely enjoyed where the story went. The academy politics, secret bloodlines, bond marks, and looming threat beyond the Veil kept things moving at a fast pace 🔮⚔️. However, emotionally, I did struggle a bit. Lindsay’s almost immediate acceptance of the paranormal world felt rushed. She jumped straight into magic training with very little shock or fear, and I couldn’t help wishing we’d spent more time sitting in that disbelief and adjustment. A little more emotional grounding would’ve made her journey hit harder 💔✨.
The MMCs were easily a highlight for me. Nolan was a total cinnamon roll and honestly the emotional soft spot of the group 🥹💛. Raiden was peak grumpy, especially after being accidentally bound to Lindsay—his irritation was chef’s kiss 😤🔥. And Kael, the one who brought her to the academy, carried that quiet intensity and mystery that made me want answers immediately 🖤. Their dynamics were fun, dramatic, and full of tension, even if the romance leaned more toward setup than payoff in this first book.
Overall, The Hidden Mark didn’t reinvent the academy reverse harem wheel, but it didn’t need to. It delivered exactly what it promised: dangerous magic, morally gray love interests, bond drama, and a heroine beginning to step into her power 💥✨. By the end, I was left with more questions than answers—and that’s exactly why I’m curious about book two.
✨ Perfect for fans of: 🏰 Paranormal / fantasy academies 🖤 Morally gray love interests 🔥 Enemies-to-lovers tension 💫 Slow-burn reverse harem (MFMM) 🩸 Secret bloodlines & bond marks 🐺 Cinnamon roll + grumpy MMCs 🔮 Multi-POV magic-heavy stories
Thank you to A.J. Moran and BookSirens for the ARC opportunity 💕📚. I’m definitely interested to see where the Veilborn Academy story goes next.
There were a lot of things I enjoyed in The Hidden Mark, namely Nolan, a forbidden wings, secret plots and mysterious bonds, but the world building was a little light for me. Lindsay had no experience of the supernatural world beyond what she had seen on TV (I loved the Charmed and Buffy references!) and as much as I liked she just got on with things, I needed a bit more exposition to really get immersed in the world. There is a one liner dropped from Kael about Lindsay being kept in the dark but he never really fills in the gaps about the Council nor the politics and it just left me looking for more info.
I'm always a little of suss of insta-bestie friendships and I'm not sure where I sit with Tamsin yet. There's a mean girl void which is refreshing but I was expecting more bullying from the general student body to go with the "know your place/you don't belong here" trope. The closest we get is grumpy Raiden who just ignores her mostly and Auron and his superiority complex. This is slow burn and Nolan is the star of the show as the super sweet cinnamon roll although I loved Kael's hints at possessiveness every time he popped out from his lurking.
The final couple of chapters flip everything on it's head and although there are POV chapters which hint at others having a plan for Lindsay, there isn't a clear villain yet. There will definitely be some fallout from that ending and I'm looking forward to seeing where book two goes.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
My interpretation of the star system; 3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again 4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series 5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read
Wow this was an absolute rollercoaster ride and I loved every minute of it.
Imagine one day just working like normal except something weird is going on and suddenly there's a letter with your name on it. Except it's not a letter it's telling you that you're now going to some sort of magical school that you know absolutely nothing about. You figure you can ignore it and continue as usual. Except that you're attacked in your home by some sort of shadow thing. Next the stranger that you randomly saw in the diner and pegged as not normal walks into your locked home. Next thing you know there's a portal in your living room and you are now stepping into the unknown.
I love that we are learning almost everything in real time just like everyone else. Kael is definitely an exception as it's obvious he knows more.
“So, in the last day, you got magically bonded to a shifter, bitten by said shifter, kissed a sweet cinnamon roll warlock, and had a shadowy heart-to-heart with a demon prince.” (Raiden the grumpy Kitsune, Nolan the sweet nerdy low level warlock, and Kael the bad boy shadow demon who knows way more than anyone else)
Lindsay is definitely something very powerful. Most of the things she does are instinctive though definitely not without consequences.
We've got a prophecy happening and this strange attraction to multiple men. I'm definitely Excited To see how these relationships develop. We have three for sure that are obsessed with her and one I'm not sure what his deal is yet.
That ending definitely left me wanting to immediately know what is going to happen next. Will she be something that fixes, something that breaks or something that creates something new?
So I don’t know if I’m gonna keep this review at four stars or go lower. It’s not that I didn’t enjoy this book I did, but I felt like there was no world building and no explanation for anything.
We are in the dark as much as our FMC is. Nothing has been explained and it’s kind of annoying that it hasn’t. We get like a little bits and pieces and I don’t know if it’s because we are supposed to be learning along with the FMC Lindsay or what.
Aside from that, my other problem is, she was a human thrown into the supernatural world, and it feels like because she grew up, loving Hogwarts. She automatically acclimated in a way to the magical world. But again, like she didn’t question anything she didn’t ask for answers. Nothing. She just kind of went along with everything.
And then one of her MMC’s tells her not to trust anyone which includes everyone around her, including two out of her three guys. Let’s also not forget to mention that due to the prophecy they read she actually doesn’t know if it’s just supposed to be the three of them or if somebody else is involved somehow or what like I said we’re just in the dark, barely learning anything.
I honestly feel like this world needed to be built better. I did pre-order book too because I do want to know what happens next, but if it does not get better with explaining what is going on, I will be DNFing the series at the end of the book two.
Noah is my favorite by far. I also feel like when it comes to the guys and her we know nothing about their pasts either. So in all honesty, I just feel like this could’ve been written better. The world building could’ve been better and the character explanations of their past and things could’ve just gone better.

and Lindsay. She lives in the human world but is threatened by the shadow. Shes given an invitation to Blackthorn. Stay and die or come through the portal with him and discover who and what she is. Tamsin takes her under her wing so to speak. Tamsin is a half breed and Lindsay is a mundane… human. Every one has heard of the human. The first in years. Yet shes more than human. Robes are Silver for Blood, Bone white for Bone, Crimson for Fang and Shadow black for Veil. Then classes. Combat casting. Shes paired with Raiden, the intense one. Runic Arts. She meets Nolan, hes the shy nerdy one. He sits next to her. Tamsin takes her to the Undercourt. Underground fights. Watch and learn. Something happens. she has a feeling. Then as the threat comes for her Kael, the man who brought her through the portal the mysteerious one, steps between her and the threat. He knows things. He knows what she is. The council intervins. Shes assigned to a trainer. For a tether to control her magic thats a danger to her and all the realms. The tether seems to be intimant. Raiden isnt happy. All her men see her as something. They feel her. Great story. Well written with magic and realms and chaos and mystery and secrets and intrigue. Its suspensful that has you grabbing onto something to keep you tethered. Its exciting and heart pounding. Keeps you guessing. And then you have to wait for the next book. Ughuuuuu. I know its going to be spectacular.

The Hidden Mark is a great start to this new magical RH series. Set in an academy world, where bloodlines mean everything and being human is the bottom of the bottom. It's filled with magic and not knowing who you can trust.
Lindsay's world is turned upside down when she receives a very unusual invitation to a school to learn about her magic. It must be a joke, magic isn't real. But when shadows attack her and a stranger saves her, she doesn't feel like she has a choice.
Thrown into a world where she must stumble through...with no guidance, while trying to figure out the mysteries surrounding her magic and what she is. I mean, she gets a lot of sneers about being a human, but when her magic pours out of her, saving her, they start to wonder. Oh and it causes the school to binds her to another student. Not that he's pleased about it.
So with a shifter tethered to her, she needs to figure out how to control her magic. As well as what a certain shadow demon really wants from her. And with too many people in the wings, pulling the strings, it's a good thing she has a sweet warlock at her back.
It's the mysteries, questions, and unknowns that had me glued to the pages. I loved that Lindsay didn't shrink away from these challenges and found a great partner in crime in Tamins.
Looking forward to the next book. I need my answers!
The Hidden Mark pulls you straight into a shadow-soaked academy where power is currency, secrets are carved into skin, and nothing—especially attraction—is safe.
From the first chapters, Veilborn Academy feels alive in the worst (and best) way. The rules are opaque, the hierarchy is ruthless, and the magic comes with a cost. Moran excels at atmosphere: dark corridors, whispered threats, and a constant sense that every character is hiding something dangerous. This is an academy that doesn’t train heroes—it forges survivors.
The FMC is compelling without being reckless. She’s observant, guarded, and clearly marked by something deeper than the academy itself. The mystery around the Mark unfolds slowly, layering tension rather than dumping exposition, which keeps the stakes sharp and the pacing tight.
And the romance? Deliciously restrained but charged. Glances linger too long. Power dynamics crackle. There’s a slow-burn tension that promises future chaos, not instant gratification—and it works. The chemistry simmers under every interaction, making the eventual payoff feel inevitable and earned.
What really stands out is how the book balances plot and desire. This isn’t spice for spice’s sake; it’s temptation woven into danger, attraction tangled with threat. By the end, the cliffhanger hits hard, and Veilborn Academy has its claws firmly in you.
The Hidden Mark by AJ Moran delivers all the familiar tropes of a fantasy academy reverse harem. With omegaverse stories dominating the genre, this novel leans into the academy tradition instead. Expect a heroine who discovers her powers, dangerous factions, and brooding love interests. It doesn’t break new ground, but the fast pace and plot make it an entertaining read.
Lindsay's quick acceptance of the paranormal world felt a bit off, as if the shock and adjustment were skipped over. She dives straight into magic training without much hesitation, which keeps the pace brisk but sacrifices some of the emotional depth that could have made her journey more believable.
As for the mmcs, we get Nolan, who is as sweet as can be. Kael is surly and gets even more grumpy when she accidentally ties them together. And Raiden, he's the one that brought her to the academy.
It's not the most original, but it’s fun, and packed with all the paranormal academy drama you crave And it leaves plenty of questions and mysteries to unravel in the next book.
Tropes: -Academy -Some bullying -Enemies to lovers -cinnamon roll hero -MFMM -Bond marks -Heroine coming into her own -Magic - multi-pov
This was a great start to a new series. I couldn't put it down & stayed up way too late to finish it. Not going to post any spoilers, but we do end in a big cliffy. We follow Lindsay, who thought she was human on her unexpected journey to a school for the arcane. Our girl isn't sure who to trust & learns that she's not as human as she thought. Our MMC's so far are Kael, who came to bring her across the veil to the school and seems to appear every time she's in trouble. He's mysterious, powerful, dark, & screams bad boy sexiness. Then we have Nolan, the sweet, clumsy, cinnamon roll of a guy who is her first real friend (besides her new bestie Tamsin). Lastly, we have Raiden. He's broody, grumpy, & silent...but that slowly changes as their bond blares hotter. We meet some other characters that may become part of the pack as well. Our girl has a magical council & threats around every corner, while trying to learn more about who she is & how to balance this magic. It's a slow burn, but there's lots of tension & sweet moments. I can't wait to see what happens next. Would definitely recommend picking this up for a great read.
The Hidden Mark is the first book in the Veilborn Academy series and is written by A.J. Moran.
💜 struggling FMC 💜 mysterious academy 💜 new friends 💜 mysterious prophecy 💜 magic and mayhem
Lindsay is trying to just make ends meet. But, living in this town is beyond terrible. If she could just earn enough money, then she could move away and start a life somewhere else. As it is, she needs more tips and it seems the customers are wanting to do just that. But what happens when a strange envelope with her name on it appears at the counter who like she’s working? Should she open it? Will it be something good? Will life eventually get better?
I didn’t know what to expect from this story when I started reading it, but it did not disappoint. I enjoyed every second of this story. The world building and character building are well done. There are so many moving pieces that you have to pay attention while you’re reading, but that’s also what makes the story great. It pulls you in and you don’t want to stop reading once you start. This does end on a cliffhanger and I can’t wait for the next book to come out to see what happens next.
I am officially breathless. From the moment I stepped into the halls of Veilborn Academy, I was hooked.
The Hidden Mark is a dark, atmospheric, and utterly addictive ride that kept me up until 3:00 AM.
The heart of this story is the incredible dynamic between Lindsey and the three guys who have completely stolen my heart: Nolan, Raider, and Kael. *
Lindsey is such a compelling FMC—strong, relatable, and navigating a world that feels both dangerous and enchanting.
• Nolan brings that nerdy, boy next door that I can't get enough of.
• Raider is pure fire and unpredictable energy.
• Kael provides that mysterious, soulful layer that ties the group together.
The slow burn chemistry between these four is electric. The world-building is seamless, the "Hidden Mark" mystery had me constantly second-guessing everything, and the cliffhanger? It should be illegal!
If you love dark academia, high-stakes secrets, and a "why choose" romance that actually has depth and soul, you need to read this book right now. I’m already counting down the seconds until Book 2.
Final Verdict: 5/5 Stars. If I could give it 10, I would!
This first book in the Veilborn Academy series pulls you into the story pretty quickly and then keeps it's foot on the accelerator all the way until the end. The main story introduces you to Lindsay who has grown up believing that she's strictly just a normal human. She receives a summons to a magic academy and she has every intention of ignoring the summons. But when she's literally drug there, she soon resigns her to her fate. Almost immediately, things that she cannot explain start happening and while Lindsay is just reacting, there are others who see what she really has: intensely strong magic. There are forces that are working against Lindsay, though, and since she has no control over her magic, there are a number of young men who come to her rescue. Nolan, Raiden and Kael all bring a different skillset, but as the book goes on, you see each one become more and more protective of Lindsay, even as they grudgingly accept the presence of the others. A great start to a series I am excited to read a whole lot more of!
This book was good. I love pretty much everything I have ever read from A.J. Her books are always so good, so when I read this one, I knew it was going to be good. Yes it is most definitely a SLOW burn lol. But even without the spice this book was a 5 star read. I know in book two we will definitely get more spice and a lot more.
Lindsay is a human who was summoned to a magical world. But she has so much untamed power that she had to learn how to control. Now we get to meet 3 of her love interest and lets just say, wow. We have Kael who is a demon prince. We have Raiden who is also Royality and a Shifter. Then we have Nolan, who is so sweet and a Warlock. I just loved everything about this book. Now that cliff hanger was just WHAT lol. I can not wait to read book 2. It needs to hurry up and come lol.
I'm in the mood of paranormal academy romance so when I got the chance of reading this story I could'nt say no.
It's true that at the start we get very little about the FMC's background and when she is dropped to the gates of an unfamiliar academy in another world and has to start studying there we don't get the feeling of her asking a lot of questions about why she is there if she is human. But I enjoyed the story and I think it has potential of having a 5 stars continuation.
Lindsay is a human girl who is teletransported to another world to attend an academy full of paranormal beings. This is a RH so se'll get some interesting love interests as a nerdy and a total green flag warlock, a dark & brooding demon prince, and a grumpy shifter. This is a slow burn so there isn't spice in this book, just some kisses.
I can't wait to read the next book because what a cliffhanger!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
So first and foremost what does Lindsay look like? We have blue hair and curves.... That's it. So many POVs and nothing.
Second, this is one of my pet hates, I thought we were over women not eating. Why tell us about food she hasn't touched or chucked in the bin????
I'm interested in the plot it's different, it's new hence the 3*
Buttttt the actual story has no heart. We started off with a Lindsey full of sass, then we got a doormat.
The MMCs are also under developed. We are already being told about all the barriers/limitations they have. Raiden has 9 tails for crying out loud, Kael is a prince ........!!!! Yet none of them are Alphas. Nolan is, well Nolan. Are we just ticking boxes?
Where is the world build? I was imagining the Midnight Court. Where are we?
Arghhh I really wanted to like this. The issues for me are glaring. Please get an editor a third eye may just make this much better.
This story delivered way more than I expected. It has surprise, desire, anger, and determination. Be aware that this is a slow burn book and it does end on a cliffhanger. I can’t imagine it being slow burn for too long in book two though. Lindsey is transported to an Academy for magical persons and finds she has abilities. Honestly, I don’t know if I would have been as calm as her and settled in so well, especially if I had come from a non-magical realm. That said, the writing is great, I love the banter and the hint of the relationships to come. Everything is new to Lindsey and I love how she discovers new things. Some people are a little jaded, but I think Lindsey and her exuberance and sassiness shake things up a bit. Her guys couldn’t be more different if they tried, from sweet Nolan, to grumpy Raiden and bad-boy Kael. This is a great start and can wait to find out what happens next after that cliffhanger. (Why????)
A demon prince, a shifter and a warlock and a "human" with a knack for getting herself into trouble. A magical tether and two "bonds" that just pulls them together.
A "human" girl is taken from her very mundane life, working. barely making ends meet. Is taken away to a magical school, with "no magic" so of course she has to get bullied. When Nolan was first introduced to us, I was rooting for them to get together. he's "a sweet cinnamon roll". Kael just shows up whenever she's in the most trouble, the Demon Prince. And of course we have the pull from Raiden.
The fact that no one is telling her what's going on they just tether her to someone, who at this point is like she's actively trying to avoid, especially when she keeps finding herself in danger. So much happened in such a short amount of time, the cliffhanger got me waiting impatiently. I enjoyed this read. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
DNF at 30%. Usually my kind of story, Academy, hidden power and heritage, magic. This one just misses the mark. The sentences are choppy and awkward. There is absolutely no world building or even description. The story dumps you into an unknown coffee shop, then the undescribed waitress gets a magical letter, goes home and is grabbed by shadows. Then saved by a handsome but snape looking magic weirder who shoves her through a portal to attend magic school. Poof she goes to classes. Never does she ask anyone why am I here? Where am I? Why am I the only human at this school? Who is the enemy, what are shadows? This is not a child, I'm pretty sure she's an adult. No-one explains anything and she allows them to magically bind her to another male student. I just stopped at that point.
This was a refreshing take on paranormal academy rh. I read a lot of them and after a while they tend to bleed together. While this has your classic tropes of prophecy/chosen one/ancient power, the world feels fresh and unique. Lindsay is a human blessed by magic and the only one at Blackthorn academy. She’s immediately thrust into a world she knows nothing about and with only cryptic warnings, is suddenly flush with more power than she has any right to. The guys fall into classic characters, the cinnamon roll, the broody stalker shadow daddy, and the stoic protective alpha. There isn’t much on the romance front, very steamy will they won’t they moments full of tension abound, a few having me scream just kiss already, but this time was needed to set up the stakes and build the unique magic and plot tension for the story. Overall well done and I’m looking forward to book 2.
I have to admit I was a little hesitant to start yet another book with an academy setting but the author did a great job spinning a tale that was well written and interesting!
Lindsay thought she was just the average human doing what needed to be done to just get by until she gets a letter inviting her to attend Blackthorn Academy for the Arcane. From there, Lindsay's life gets turned upside down as she learns that things are not always what they seem. Thankfully she manages to find some allies to help her find her way as she uncovers the mystery behind her powers.
I'm really looking forward to the next book to see how Lindsay grows with her power and adjusts to the guys in her life. This is very much a slow-burn romance but the tension is definitely there!

Outstanding and captivating. Oh my!! This is an incredible book and a great start to a new series. It is a slow build, but that does not mean boring in any shape or form, it feels right. I am hyper-excited (not sure if that’s a real word, but it is now!) over these characters. The setting is dark – think Hogwarts without any niceties; it’s raw & unforgiving – compelling, and absolutely captivating. Wow!! TW’s available at the start of the book. Soft but exciting cliffhanger. IMHO… absolutely outstanding storytelling. I felt transported into the book and am now addicted. I cannot wait for the next book! This is like Harry Potter on steroids! A human thrust into a strange new world, who has power and is the answer to everything or the end of all. I know this is a familiar trope but I don’t care, I love it. This is well written, great characters and so much, absolutely fantastic, slow burn tension. Lindsay, the fmc, is aware enough not to trust easily, and knows enough about the powers she’s developing to be scared of what’s coming. The guys aren’t bullies, though they may have mixed motives, with the exception of Nolan, who is an absolute sweetheart 😍😍😍😍 I love all of them, though I still don’t know what to make of Auron, enemy, ally or something else entirely? I am so excited to see where this story goes. Here’s to book two! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌶️
I enjoyed this story, it's a short read. We have Lindsay who is human or so she thought. Take to am academy by the mysterious Kael ( I don't know if he is a professor or a student at this point, he doesn't seem to be a professor but he doesn't take class, probably some sort of staff and I missed the info or misread ) It's why choose so far we have Nolan, the shy, Raiden the strong fox and Kael the shadow I like the divide Blood, Bone, Fang and Veil and hope we will explore more the Bone next book and maybe more intel about all the species, fae, demon, shifters. But as we see it through Lindsay's eyes who is a total newbie it didn't bother me. I liked having the guys Pov But it has le guessing if Aubon will be a mate or not. I read it in two days so pretty good read.
Mind you, I went into it with very low expectations. Let's face it, the premise isn't unique, the poor human who didn't know they were a magical creature turns into the one to save them all.
And yet...
It works!
I loved this book. Seriously, 5 stars.
I have no idea where this is going, I have no idea what is going to happen next, I have no idea if her roommate is a friend or someone who will betray here later.
I have no idea what is going to happen in the second book, but I am here for it.
Read the trigger warnings (although this is NOT a dark book) but I figure that the author puts them there for that reason.
Loved this book can’t wait for more. You always dream of somehow being discovered and then being told you are the long lost whatever and you are whisked off to a life of luxury. Well Lindsay was discovered all right but that life of luxury not so much. Instead she gets told that she is going to. Magic school and classes start tomorrow with nothing in the way of explanation. Then she gets to class and she is “human” and considered worthless well until her magic bursts out of her with no control or knowledge on her part. More please.
