One night. One mistake. One marriage neither of them saw coming.
A work trip to Las Vegas was supposed to be just that—work. But after one too many drinks, Dr. Bryce Jensen and Nurse Beth Stoner wake up to find themselves legally bound.
Beth, the dedicated nurse and steadfast Christian, is embarrassed and wants an annulment immediately. Bryce, the charming playboy doctor who walked away from his faith, shocks her by suggesting they stay married.
Unconvinced, Beth seeks wisdom from her pastor, expecting confirmation that ending the marriage is the right choice. Instead, the advice is clear—marriage is sacred, and perhaps this unexpected union isn’t a mistake after all.
Now, faced with a life she never planned on and a man determined to prove their marriage is worth fighting for, Beth must navigate trials that test her faith, moments of laughter that catch her off guard, and challenges that bring unexpected tears. As Bryce confronts his past and fights for a future with Beth, she begins to wonder—could this accidental marriage be part of a greater plan?
Wow, this story completely caught me off guard, in the best way. I was hooked almost immediately!
Yes, it’s the classic “Oops, we got married in Vegas” trope, but this book takes it a step further. Beth is a devout Christian who’s been saving herself for marriage. Bryce is a charming, self proclaimed playboy doctor who’s drifted from his faith. After a wild night in Vegas, they wake up in the same bed… married.
To make things even messier? They’re coworkers. She’s a nurse. He’s a doctor.
Beth is heartbroken...devastated that she can’t even remember her wedding night and feels like she’s given away her virtue in one drunken mistake. She’s ready to annul the marriage and move on. But Bryce, determined not to follow in his father’s footsteps, refuses to let go so easily. He wants to give their unexpected marriage a real chance.
Can he convince Beth to stay? Could this drunken mistake turn into something meaningful… even beautiful?
I really enjoyed this story! It wasn’t just about the accidental marriage; it dove deep into the emotional and spiritual consequences of their choices. It handled sensitive topics thoughtfully, especially what it means to enter an intimate relationship without fully understanding or remembering it. It’s definitely a more mature read, as it touches on Bryce’s past relationships, a few innuendos, and his former playboy lifestyle.
Still, the story is anchored in faith. There’s prayer, Scripture, pastoral and parental counsel, and a clear redemptive arc especially for Bryce. It’s as much about returning to God as it is about learning to love.
If I had one critique, it’s that I wanted more space for Beth’s healing. Some pretty big emotional hurdles were resolved a bit too quickly, and I would’ve liked to sit with those moments a little longer.
That said, it didn’t lessen the impact of the story, and now I can't wait for Lynn to get her own romance!
I received a complimentary copy of this book and this review reflects my honest opinion.
This was a sweet, Christian contemporary romance filled with faith and redemption. We open our story to Bryce and Elizabeth waking up after a night of too much alcohol, to finding themselves in bed together, and married. Elizabeth is a Christian and a nurse and has been saving herself for marriage and this is the first time she’s had too much alcohol. Bryce is the hospital’s playboy prodigal doctor. Bryce wants them to stay together, and as they work through things with repentance and grace, faith stays as the forefront of this romance. It was a bit difficult to follow at times as the perspective changes randomly in the middle of the page without warning (not just to the other MC, but to various characters in the story). This story kept my interest and I’m interested in continuing this series. The romance is fade to black, intimacy level 2.
Content warnings: a few instances of language, a lot of “censored” instances for language, a lot of innuendo, there is an additional trigger in this book, but it is also a major spoiler. However, I would’ve liked to know about it in advance, so, if that’s also you, message me and I’ll let you know what it is.
This is a Christian romance that deals with heavy topics. As a reader, my opinion is that this book would be for 18+. Due to content about physical intimacy, if a teen wanted to read it, I would recommend a parent or pastor or trusted mentor read and discuss it with them.
Please see the content warnings I’ve included to see if this book is a good fit for you.

I could not put this book down. It is a clean Christian contemporary romance. I appreciated the depth of all the characters. They all had so many dimensions. Often I find this genre a little plastic and the characters like a cheap holiday romance movie. That is not this book. The characters made me invested from the beginning. Their story is messy like real life. Faith did not make everything magically perfect. If you are looking for a good story about a couple finding love then order this today. I think my favorite part was how the characters grew each in their own way. These are not cookie cutter characters. It was truly one of those I can’t put this book down.
This was a unique Christian contemporary romance. There were many things I liked about it - the scripture and the Biblical truths in the book, how it touched on very real topics and issues that some Christian’s face (one example being how sheltered some people are who grow up in Christian homes), how Pastor Steve pastored and his teachings, and the Gospel elements. I did also enjoy the romance.
I felt like there were some things that happened, or resolved, very quickly. Also, there were many POVs in the book and they switched without notice so it was sometimes a bit hard to track with that. Lastly, I think the book needed a final edit and proofread.
All that being said, though, I was hooked and wanted to keep reading. This was the author’s debut novel and I’m looking forward to her next one!
Thanks to the author for a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
I have never read a Christian romance quite like this one and I really enjoyed it. You can’t erase your mistakes but you can learn and grow from them. Beth and Bryce both had personal growth in their faith and they had to figure out how to move forward together.
Other things I liked: I also loved the Bible passages that were mentioned it made me go and reread them right away. A few side characters all had important and interesting roles as well, going through different experiences.
I really enjoyed this book and read it in just a few days. I related more to the FMC at times than I care to admit. The MMC was observant and understanding of the FMC's feelings and wants. I like that he was never pushy or overbearing.
If you don't enjoy Christian reads, this may not be the book for you. There is consistent praying, church going, references to the Bible, and talking of and to God. That being said, it was a beautiful story of mistakes and forgiveness and returning to God.
I'm looking forward to reading more from this author. Can't wait for book 2!
Definitely not your average Christian romance! The writing hooked me from the very beginning! The characters feel authentic and relatable. It follows a woman and her coworker who, after a night of drinking, wake up and find themselves married. The mistake quickly turns into a heartfelt journey as they deal with the aftermath of their spontaneous decision. Highly recommend if you enjoy light-hearted yet thoughtful romance.
The plot kept me interested, but I found myself wanting a bit more depth from the characters. Some of their actions didn’t always feel consistent, and a few lines of dialogue felt slightly off or unnatural. It felt like the story leaned more toward plot than character development, which made it harder to fully connect with the cast. That said, there’s a solid foundation here, and with more focus on character dynamics, this could be a much stronger read.
What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. Or does it? What if you try drinking for the first time and wake up the next morning married to the doctor one of the doctors you came to the convention with. Beth was the good girl. She was a nurse. She never did anything wrong, until now. This was her one mistake. It seems to get worse when her pastor tells her she should give the marriage a chance. Will her one mistake haunt her, or will it turn out not to be a mistake at all?
Love that the book has many Biblical truths woven into the story! Bryce and Beth just make me smile! The way Bryce cares for Beth from the very beginning! 1 CANNOT wait for Lynn’s story!!!!! (She might have been my favorite character!)
A modern Christian romance that gave me “Love Comes Softly” vibes. The story pulled me in right from the beginning and left me wanting more of Lynn’s story.
After a night of drinking on a work trip, Beth and Dr. Jensen wake up and find themselves married. This one mistake could become what unravels them, but instead their spontaneous decision becomes one of redemption.
Aly Moon’s debut novel had me nodding my head along in agreement, laughing and reading with a big smile on my face multiple times throughout the 377 pages! You’ll love the authentic & accurate Christian representation (thank you for calling out how judgmental humans can be regardless of faith), the characters convictions (and dedication to upholding them), the sweetness of Dr. Jensen aka Dr.Handsome, his loft (could I please live there)and the outlandish movie references and quotes from Lynn (can’t wait for her book, the sequel)!
This unique Christian contemporary romance, will have you reflecting on your own mistake, as well as your treatment of others in light of their mistakes.
