I've never been the first person to review a book!
It's kind of a amazing, and somewhat saddening, that this book from 1988 is so applicable to the ideological debates of today. It's worth reading for its cogent discussion of the shortcomings of the Religious Right and how believers can more thoughtfully and carefully engage in politics.
The book starts strong but flags a bit toward the end. Hunter is at his best when he's in analysis mode, but his concrete suggestions get bogged down in a grammar metaphor, of all things. That said, his points are good and worth all Christians hearing.
