This intriguing book captures the rich history of these two nations for an eye-opening experience. The books are well written and drew me into insights on ancient empires, colonial trade and its growth all of which gave me food for thought. I learned a few things and brushed up on other elements of Malaysia and Singapore. This is a great book to have as a resource.

A good book covering separately Malaysia and Singapore history from the Middle Ages to the present. It feels like a compilation of various historical narratives into each country’s story. Ease to read but sometimes it feels a bit automated with the same expression used in several places. Informative but not giving real insight into each country’s history.

This is a good place to begin for someone curious about Malaysia and Singapore. I particularly enjoyed reading about the end of the colonial era in both books.
