In bustling 1880s San Francisco, dressmaker-turned-matchmaker Miss Mabel Blessington has a ledger full of bachelors and a sharp eye for who really belongs together, whether they like it or not. With the help of her determined assistant, Miss Penny, Miss Mabel’s registry grows beyond her little shop, sending strong-willed women and unsuspecting men into arranged courtships from Colorado to Montana to Texas and beyond.
They ask for one thing. Miss Mabel sends them the opposite.
Full of laugh-out-loud banter, heartfelt faith, and sweet frontier romance, The Brides of Miss Mabel’s Registry is a collection of charming love stories where opposites attract, sparks fly, and happily ever after comes with a few unexpected detours.
This delightful boxed set includes the first three books in the series, plus a BONUS prequel short story where you can learn just how Miss Mabel became the matchmaking queen she is!
The Blacksmith’s Stubborn Bride
He asked for a quiet wife. She sent him a firecracker in a bonnet. Gruff blacksmith Thatcher Hale is not prepared for Clara Hollis, a sharp-tongued, strong-willed woman who is completely unafraid to challenge him at every turn. But when sparks fly in more ways than one, the real surprise is how right a mismatch can feel.
The Sheriff’s Reluctant Bride He asked for a housekeeper. She sent him a woman with a whisk, a will, and no intention of taking orders. Sheriff Colt Maddox wasn’t looking for love, just someone to cook a decent meal. Maggie Prescott bakes like an angel and argues like she was born for it. And somehow, she might be exactly what he’s needed all along.
The Prospector’s Proper Bride He asked for practical. She packed gloves and French pastries. Luke Dawson expected a rugged partner. What he got was polished socialite Josephine Talbot. But as frontier life challenges them both, their stubborn hearts may discover they’ve struck gold in each other.
Welcome to my little corner of the internet! So who am I? Well, it’s quite simple actually. Of course, first and foremost, I’m a wife and mother. However, along with those two hats, I’m also a Sweet Historical and Contemporary Romance author who writes in her fuzzy pants and loves her horses and her cats!
Love historical romance? Well, then strap on those petticoats, travel back in time, and go on adventures with my sweet Historical Romances. Not feeling historical today? I have a few sweet Contemporary Romances, too!
And if you are looking for something with a little more heat (not too much, but more smooching and some fade-to-black scenes), then check out my titles written under the name Angela Christina Archer
Dr. Stephen Ambrose of Hickory Creek, Texas and Baker/Volunteer nurse Della Tate of San Francisco are matched by Miss Mabel Chadwick, proprietress of "Heart’s Haven Matrimonial Services", which apparently has switched name's from Miss Mable's Registry after the previous 5.5 books 🙄
Overall, it was a good story with more humor than the previous books as well as plenty of faith and heart.
Again, as indicated above, this author struggles with editing issues. 1 example is these 2 nearly identical sentences appear together: “Well, I can understand that. I volunteered at St. Agnes for seven years. Not because I had to, but because I wanted to matter. To make a difference in ways that lasted longer than a frosted cake.” She smiled. “Well, I can understand that. I volunteered at St. Agnes for seven years. Not because I had to, but because I wanted to matter. To make a difference in ways that lasted longer than a perfectly frosted cake.” She smiled slightly.

I purchased the entire collection of eBooks, 0.5 through 6. All opinions are mine alone without expectation or compensation.
I always enjoy reading about mail order brides - often a preposterous escape from reality which surely is the reason we read historical novels. I especially loved the descriptions and the pearls of wisdom. Clara, the ten year old epitomizes the wisdom that often comes from children, and of course there were also a few chuckles along the way.
Miss Mabel's matchmaking is enchanting. The stories are delightful reads that I know I will read again in future. Characters plots etc deceptively simple really come to life. I thoroughly recommend these books.
This is a set of funny and interesting stories. Miss Mabel has her own unique way of matchmaking. She reads the letters that people's end her asking for what they want. She then tries to determine what they need and she sends them that person. A very entertaining read.
I enjoyed these stories. Even though the brides were mismatched everything worked out in the end. They were great love stories. I recommend this boxed set.
