This is a great history of the Church. It summarizes everything from Pentecost in Acts 2 all the way to current day. And the insights are important and necessary for all the Body of Christ. However, I do feel like there were a few bones that need to be spit out. Perhaps that’s because this book is now almost 20 years old, so perhaps that’s because some of the thinking is a bit outdated. Also, there was some information given that seemed to only be there to endorse certain names and really had nothing further to say to the overall message. Still, I do believe the overall message is imperative for the Church to grasp today!

Fantastic book on church history, from a Pentecostal/Charismatic perspective. The insights are really interesting and I really was challenged by a lot of what I read here. Great stuff.

Great perspective builder, giving a cursory review of church history and reasons why the Church (speaking of the universal people of God) is not a backup plan but His plan all along. Brings great framework to our connection to a local congregation and the universal church at large.
