I listened to the audiobook of this and I was underwhelmed. At first I was excited since it's interracial. The heroine is a beautiful, dark-skinned African American woman and the hero is a dragon shifter (Caucasian in human form) from Eastern Europe. I still dug that about the story even though I was overall disappointed.

I think that the major issue is that it was too derivative for me. I love the Black Dagger Brotherhood, and I like that it's had an impact on paranormal romance, but I would like to see an author inspired by these books to take to some diversions in storytelling that make their story more unique. While the author chose to inhabit her story with dragons of all kind, which was very cool, I felt like the style of storytelling, the number of subplots, and the set up of the group that Venom fights with is way too similar to the Brotherhood. There are characters that you can identify as certain BDB characters. Also, I feel that there is a lot of similarity to the Midnight Breed series by Lara Adrian.

Another issue I have with the story is the dropped plotlines. At the beginning of the book Evelyn is in trouble with some Russian gangsters. It's like that all goes away. I was really confused about that. And some of the point of views I could deal without. I don't mind if we see the villain's POV somewhat, but not if they're not that interesting. I would rather have a scene where Venom kicks the crap out of the Russian gangster.

The plot resolution suffered and failed to impress me. It was very anticlimactic. When the book ended, I was like, that's it? Yeah, I was pretty disappointed with this. I'm interested in the one character who reminds me of John Matthew before his transition, I think his name in Osgood. I'd definitely read his book.

Overall thoughts:

The dragon aspect, good.
Romance: pretty good. Sort of an instaluv vibe, but I can live with that.
Characters: Mostly forgettable.
Plotting: poor. Too many storylines.
Narration: I give the narrator some points for enthusiasm and style, but his Scottish accent was ferociously bad. Some of his European accents sounded like a campy version of Vlad Tepes aka Dracula. But I liked him despite that. He was having fun and that made me have fun.

Overall rating: 2.5/5.0 stars.

I've really enjoyed each book in this series. I like all the heroes and even all the heroines. It's kind of rare for me to not have a complaint about heroines, so the fact that I've liked them all so far is great. I'm also really starting to enjoy the secondary story that has been happening in the last couple of books. I'd like to see the Nightfury team up with Nian and save all the victims.

Fury of Obsession by Coreene Callahan is the 5th book in the Dragonfury series. It took me awhile to get into this one. There are several plot lines running concurrently and it’s not until around the halfway point that things start to gain a cohesive focus. There are several main characters. On one hand we follow Gage, who is imprisoned and being tortured. On another is Ivar and his plot to infect an entire town with a deadly virus. Then there is Venom who is struggling to overcome loneliness and takes off on his own, where he meets Evelyn. Lastly, we have Evelyn who has come across hard times, recently fired from her job and burdened with her deceased mother’s debt to the mob. Desperate times, call for desperate measures and in the course of those actions she meets Venom.

I really liked Venom. He was a wonderful hero and really sweet with Evelyn. He wanted to woo her and win her over. He had yearned so long for a woman to call his own. Someone he could hold throughout the night, someone that could tolerate his toxic touch for more than a short time. I had no doubt in my mind that Evelyn was the most important person to Venom. And Evelyn was a lovely heroine, perfect for Venom. She was strong, sweet and smart. I really enjoyed their interactions together. Their romance was sexy and endearing.

Fury of Obsession had a lot of buildup and the subsequent conclusion felt a little quick in comparison. With the inclusion of the other plotlines the romance felt shortchanged. I would have liked to have seen a little more romantic development. Overall though, it was quite good.

I would recommend Fury of Obsession to fans of the Dragonfury series.

Can a toxic dragon find true love? Luckily, Venom has a soul mate out there somewhere waiting for him and this is his story in Fury of Obsession.

Feeling extremely alone and isolated after his partner found his mate, Venom heads to a club to find temporary solace in a woman's arms.

Evelyn Foxe's life has hit rock bottom. Her mother's gambling habits has put in the sights of a loan shark with no chance of her ever being able to pay back the debt. When all options fail, she takes drastic measure that shake her to her very moral core.

When Evelyn is about to make the hardest choice of her life, Venom walks through the door and instantly knows she is his mate.

Battles in the sky, contagions ravaging Evelyn's home town and a strong alpha male giving the woman control to find her place in his life...Fury of Obsession was a great installment in the Dragonfury series.

The highly descriptive story telling pulls you into the plot and lets you feel like you can see a dragon transform before your eyes.

I did feel this story ended rather abruptly leaving a few plot directions open for further exploration in later installments, I hope...

I'm wondering were this story is heading next and what is going on with Ivar.

I received this ARC copy of Fury of Obsession from Montlake Romance in exchange for a honest review. This book is set for publication February 24, 2015.

DNF

Too much inner dialogue.
Venom seemed like he was not picky who would be in his bed or that he would be able to love and touch so I did not feel any connection between him and Evelyn.

This could have been good but the author should have cut half of the information in the book. I did not need every characters' thoughts about everything.

You know what I find amazing? Coreene Callahan has only written FIVE Dragonfury books (and one novella). I was astounded when I realized that this series really only had five books. It is such an epic series, larger than life that I keep thinking there were many more books. The good news is, there will be! *grins*

Fury of Obsession tells us Venom's story. It seems Venom, although a toxic dragon, secretly envious his friends who have found their mates. It's hard knowing he can never have a mate. His touch is toxic to anyone. Long term? It could kill, it will kill. So how can a dragon find a mate if he can't touch her for longer than a quickie. And now that Wick (Fury of Desire) has found his mate, Venom is feeling a little bit lonely and a wee bit jealous which in turn makes him feel guilty. And edgy. And willing to break the rules.. which leads him to a one night stand with a hooker, a HE (High Energy) hooker, that isn't a hooker at all..

Evelyn Foxe has been picking up after her mother for most of her life. Usually it's an annoyance but right now? It's dangerous. It seems mom is into the Russian Mob for some serious money, only mom is dead and said mob claims Evelyn will have to pay it. Ok, doable IF Evelyn had not just lost her high paying job. She has sold everything and is down to considering turning tricks to make ends meet. Desperate, afraid and when Venom walks in the door.. incredibly aroused.

Venom has found his mate! But unlike every other Dragon Fury male, he doesn't want to just kidnap her and make her accept life as it will be. Nope Venom wants to woo her.. *sigh* what a romantic! Only it seems she lives in a town that Ivar has targeted with his super virus.. Now the entire team is on it's way to save her. Poor girl is gonna learn about dragons the same way the rest of them did.. with a ride on the wild side!

Now, what else is going on? It seems the metallics have been held captive and are being tortured.. hmm, not good.

Bastion's spy (and brother) is beginning to make headway but is also skating the edges of discovery.

The council might have just found a way to officially claim Bastion an outlaw.. Only Bastion doesn't seem that worried..

And Forge? Yep, Forge is being targeted big time. What does he know? And will he share?

There is so very much going on in this book. My only complaint? It just wasn't long enough. Seriously! Coreene handled this story beautifully, it wasn't rushed or crowded but each story could have been bigger and bolder. Not that I am complaining, I am sure Coreene has a plan.. I just don't see why she doesn't tell me in advance.

Another HUGE Dragonfury hit!!

Another thrilling and exciting instalment of the Dragonfury series. This time, lonely and guilt-ridden Venom finally finds the perfect woman to share his life. Evelyn Victoria Foxe (with an “e”) is not only high energy, but she has a natural resistance to toxins and has never been sick a day in her life. Serendipity puts them in each other’s paths, just when they need it the most. Yes, Venom almost dropped the ball on locking down his new love, for which his Nightfury brothers all give him heck. The result was tons of heart pumping action and flash bang danger! Well done. This series is getting better and better!

Venom, is a toxic dragon warrior, and has always felt isolated from others. His touch can be poison, especially to women. He has the capability to make them sick or even kill them if they are not his mate, the only one who is built to withstand his toxic touch. With his best friend, having recently found his mate, Venom feels more alone than ever. So feeling caged and needed to find some release, he goes in search of a woman, one with high energy to feed on. Evelyn Foxe had a prestigious career with many opportunities ahead of her. Until a scandal was released and she was put in the middle, and was blamed for it all. Now it’s been months since she has had a job, no one will hire her. Now with a threat from the Russian mob, her grandmother’s life at risk, she must find a way to get a large amount of money…and she can think of only one way, offer her body up. As much as the thought disgusts her she doesn’t have any choice, it is that or the only person who has ever loved will pay the price. But her first client, is not what she expected, a man with an aura of power and danger, but one with a gentle touch and patient manner. Venom and Evelyn, soon find that they are mates, but there is a rising danger to Dragonkind and their enemy is fierce….will they survive…

This series is just amazing, and if you love sexy dragon shifters…than this series is for you. Coreen Callahan writes stunning romances, and this series has had me since the first book. Most of the series up until now I have done through audiobook, so when I was given the chance to read this ARC, it was quite different reading it in book form verses the audio format. But I did enjoy it quite a bit, and we see all the previous players from previous books take a role in this story. This book pretty much takes off from where the last book ended. I would recommend reading this series in order, even though each book could be read as a stand-alone, you might get a bit confused on what is happening with certain circumstances.

The story sets off where we get these two meeting for the first time in a hotel room. Now I honestly had no idea what to expect with this scenario, but evidently I really enjoyed the twists and the way that these two connect together, and Venom oh he is my kind of hero. Such a romantic, and I loved how he wants to woo and court Evelyn instead of kidnapping her and taking her to his “lair” like his other brethren have done with their women. I loved how Venom treats Evelyn, from the very beginning, he is so patient and understanding, and with him being an Alpha male, Callahan does a tremendous job of balancing out his character. Evelyn is quite a strong willed heroine; I loved her from the beginning of the story. She stands up to Venom, and has her own special qualities, and I loved how she is willing to risk everything for someone she loves, even if she hates herself for doing it. She is such a charming heroine, and I grew to really like her from beginning to end. Their relationship is quite steamy, and boy can they set the room ablaze….you might want to bring a fire extinguisher with you as you read this one.

Overall a winning romance that had me from the beginning. A story of fated love, with burning passion, thrilling adventures, and a love story to endear you. HEARTMELTING!

Well, what to say about this one...

I'll start with what I liked - Venom and Evelyn. I loved both characters. Venom is the perfect combination of sweet and dominant. And let me add hot and sexy. Evelyn is the perfect combination of sweet and sassy. They are so good for each other. More of what I liked is the story of what is going on in the Dragonkind world. That's all I'll say about that- don't want to give anything away.

What I didn't like- waaaay too wordy! A whole lot of bla, bla, bla. EVERY character went off on these inner-monologue tangents. It drove me NUTS! Please tone it down. Also, not very much romance. At least half the story was not about the main couple, but all the other things happening in the Dragonkind world. The story is good, but I thought I was going to read a romance. Venom and Evelyn's story was pushed to the side and didn't get fleshed out like I'd hoped.

My conclusion- I'm definitely going to continue the series, I have to know what happens next in the Dragonkind world. Pulse I want the rest of the guys to find their mates. Especially Forge. I'll just not expect as much romance. More Urban Fantasy, I guess. My rating would have been higher, but I was expecting more romance. Happy reading!

4 Sweet and Deadly Dragon STARS★★★★

Meet Venom... toxic to everyone he touches for more than 45 minutes, he cannot be with a female for longer than that.. He's also very sweet and the type that reveres females so not being able to touch and pleasure a female is pure torture to him..

Then he meets Evelyn, a female that tries her hand as a high class escort in order to gain some quick cash.. cue the violins and insta-love connection for mates and you have a story...

Also in this book we see Ivar, scary and super smart nemesis of the Nightfuries. I love Ivar, he really struggles with his conscience and he struggles to admit that he needs a particular female, mentioned in his short novella prior to this book.

I love the pace of these books as well as the dragon theme, the modern take on it anyway. Its also exceptionally well-written and the character developments are well placed and managed.

All in all, an entertaining read.. definitely recommended.

Coreene Callahan’s Dragonfury Series is incredible! It’s packed full of action, danger and smoking hot romance. Fury of Obsession is the fifth book in the series and Venom and Evelyn’s story. The Dragonfury Series is an addicting series full of sexy alpha dragons you’ll fall in love with.

Venom secretly longed for a relationship. Seeing his brothers in arms had opened up his eyes to what he needs. Someone he can call his own. But being a toxic dragon that he is, he never thought it was possible…until the night he goes AWOL.

Pushed into desperate time, Evelyn Foxe has to find a way for quick money. But what does a very smart, top notch, out-of-luck accountant do? Yup, you guessed it. Go and work with the city’s top Madame. She has no choice. A lady does what she has to do right?

I was a bit torn on Evelyn’s choice of work, but I get it. Desperate times and all that. But Ms. Callahan did well with how her life had turned out despite their awkward introduction with Ven. Evelyn and Venom’s story came a little fast but it was sweet. Venom…was very sweet. If you didn’t already know, the dragonkind has to have a certain connection with female for them to ever survive. The connection with their mate is even stronger, even more special and very delicate. Both parties would have to equally love each other for any relationship to work. Some of brothers tactic was to take and woo. But Ven? Oh no, he wanted to woo Evelyn. Given the circumstances of danger, kidnapping first might have been the better choice, but Venom was a romantic, and I love that about him.

One of the best thing about this series is the back story. I love the endless fight between the Nightfuries and the Razorbacks. There is always action packed and nail biting scenes between the two. It always involves flying dragons with each using their powers and talents. It’s pretty epic!

I also enjoy seeing the rest of the crew. Of course, there’s the funny banters and awesome camaraderie. Ivar, one of the Razorbacks surprised me in this installment. This guy is THE head of his crew and totally ruthless. But in this book, he softened up just a tad. Coreene had put in a seed of compassion in his character. I’m not sure what Ms. Callahan has planned for him but I’m certainly intrigued. Though, I don’t think he has caused his last destruction in this series.

Overall, Fury of Obsession was an enjoyable read.

Ooh here we have the fifth book in the Dragonfury series and this time it's the ever so isolated and lonely Venom who steps up. Venom has a very unusual problem in that no one can bear his touch for more than forty five minutes or so. His closest friend has finally found love and feeling totally despondent Venom goes out seeking the comfort only found in the arm's of a woman but what he encounters will change his world.
Evelyn is really caught in a bad place. Her late mother left debts that need paying and these are not the sort of guys to mess around with! She has recently lost her job and now down but most certainly not out she has to salvage something. The chance to earn money working as a high class call girl seems like her only way out of a very sticky situation but her first client is nothing like what she was expecting! He is gorgeous, patient and oh so gentle. What Evelyn doesn't know is Venom is a dragon and she's about to get sucked into their war.
This book is well written and fast paced but I was a little disappointed as the central couple had only met once when my kindle informed me I was half way through the story. The author kept cutting to scenes of surrounding characters which added to her world building but slightly irritated this reader.
Venom is a very sexy shifter determined to woo his lady, sigh. I liked that Evelyn was a strong female used to taking charge and very loyal. They do eventually get more time together so yes expect delicious sexy scenes.
The author leaves her readers with questions though and I suspect we will soon see a whole new side to Ivar ( can this villain be redeemed?) and this is a plot that is clearly far from over. If you are in the mood for good storytelling and hot dragons than this series is a must read. I'm not a fan of Mates usually but Ms Callahan pulls it of with aplomb. Romantic, entertaining and fun!

Dragon-warrior Venom is alone in the midst of all his coupled-up brothers. His loneliness is exacerbated by the fact that his longing for a mate of his own cannot be fulfilled because, due to his genetic makeup he is toxic (literally) and cannot spend a lot of time with a female without making her sick or even causing her death. He is reduced to short-term interludes that only intensify his longing for a mate. Until he encounters Evelyn Foxe. Evelyn is the perfect fit for Venom but she is weighed down by her current circumstances -out of a job and unable to get another; she's on the hook with the Russian mob, forced to assume her late mother's gambling debts and at her wits end, until Venom offers her a lifeline.

Fury of Obsession is my introduction to the Dragonfury series and to Coreene Callahan's work, but I am completely blown away by her writing. The story is so much more than what the blurb indicates. The title is apt because the story does not just revolve around Venom's obsession with finding his mate, but also the obsession shared by Ivar ( and the Razorbacks) and Rodine in destroying the Nightfuries.

I love this story because I was completely drawn into the world Ms. Callahan has created and even though I started at the end, there was enough of a back-story to fill in the blanks. The writing is top-notch and engaging,  the plot is multi-layered and the characters are well-developed.

Fury of Obsession is a top pick for me because Ms. Callahan has skillfully woven a tale that satisfies even as it heightens anticipation for the next in the series. It is the perfect blend of romance, action and suspense.

This is the fifth book in the Dragonfury series and First I have to say, these books should be read in order. Otherwise you will Miss some developments. Nevertheless I read only the first two books. But now I have to read three and four for sure.

this time it is Venom will find his mate. Venom is a very unusual Dragon as no one can bear his touch for more than forty five minutes or so. His closest friend has finally found love and Venom feels alone although he is very happy for his friend. As he goes out seeking the comfort from a woman he encounters Evie.

Evelyn is really in a bad place. Her mother has left her debts to Pay to the Russian mob, not the sort of guys to mess around with! She has lost her job, has Sold everthing she has and nothing left. To solve the situation she accepts an offer as a high class call girl, which seems like her only way out of this situation. her first client is Venom and he is gorgeous, patient and really gentle.

Both characters are really great: Evelyn is a strong character who is very loyal and has a strong sense of right and wrong. And Venom was swoon-worthy! He tries to do everything right and to give Evie a chance to choose. Their chemistry together was great, but for me they had not enough Page time together.

This book is well written and fast paced but I was a little disappointed that we did Not see a lot of Evie and Venom as a couple. There was a lot going on in this book, which made for a good story and a lot of action. But it would have been better to give the main characters more time

The side characters and their relationships with each other are fantastic and I can't wait to see more of them. I really hope for Gage Book next, as he seems to be an interesting character.

All in all, was this a very well done read with a Great romance, a lot of Action and very fast paced and Full of action

Toxic to all who touch him, Venom lives in a self imposed exile until a chance meeting with Evelyn Foxe has him taking a chance on love only for her to get caught up in a firestorm in this enthralling paranormal romance.

Evelyn’s life has went to hell lately and only seems to be getting worse until during a desperate attempt at fixing one thing she meets Venom and he has her hoping that things might turn for the better. The reader can’t help but get caught up in the story of these strong compelling characters as they grab the reader’s attention along with their heart and ensure that the reader wants to know every last detail of their pursuit of happily ever after. The fast pace and smooth flowing plot keeps readers on their edge of their seat with lots of excitement and suspense while Venom and Evelyn’s dragon hot passion burns up the pages.

There is never a dull moment in the story as Venom steps out of line and of course Ivar’s up to his usual tricks keeping things in chaos and just plain finding new ways to implement his diabolically destructive plans. To spice things up even more, Evelyn’s got a couple bad guys after her and two of Nightfury’s own are missing and the Rodin and Zidane are up to all kinds of nastiness. The well written scenes and details paint vivid images and bring all of it to life and make the reader feel as if they are part of the excitement and the well planned out events ensure that the readers can’t put the book down.

I love all the Nightfury dragons and I have always had a soft spot for Venom so I was ecstatic to be so completely enthralled by his book and the fact that Evelyn makes a perfect match for the toxic dragon. Of course, I can’t wait to read the next one and find out just what those bad dragon dudes are going to do next and who will have fix it.

3.5 stars - I actually ended up liking Fury of Obsession a lot, even though it was about 50% in before everything really got rolling. That's because this book had alot going on, and in addition to the romance for dragon Venom, there is major page time for Gage, one of the two dragons who are captured and tortured while on a scouting mission, and a bit of time with bad guy Ivar as he tries to put one of his science projects into play. So this is pretty much an ensemble piece.

Even though I'd forgotten how much the series is the love child between Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood and Adrian's Breeds (with Cooke's Dragonfire acting as a surrogate), I still really enjoyed this. That is largely due to Venom and his lady. He is a totally bad @$$ warrior who goes all mushy and vulnerable for his mate, and she's good too in that she pushes him toward their HEA. Since there are so many other threads in the mix, their relationship moves pretty fast and in some ways it's a short story within the story, but I did so like seeing Venom's joy at finding the one made for him, a woman who not only could survive his toxic touch but who craved him and the closeness he never thought he'd have.

There was plenty to like in the other parts of the story and interesting characters in Gage, his new 'son', Bastian's brother and the illusionist Nian. I am looking forward to more dragons from Callahan.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a fun read, I wouldn't recommend this as a stand alone. I'm actually going to go back & purchase the books prior in this series. The world seems interesting & the writing was good. However I think I would have enjoyed the book much more if I'd been familiar with some basics prior to reading it. I aim to remedy that. =)

Awww, man!

I really wanted to enjoy this. It's rare that you find a story with a black female love interest. Alas, the love part of this love story was minimal. As someone else stated, though Evie was described as being a super intelligent and witty female, all we saw her do was have sex. Little if any contribution to the plot or pack. Oh well. Plus, I found myself skipping over much of the other stories. They just didn't hold my interest.

Fury

I loved Venom and Evie's story. I am a big fan of this entire series. I gave this story 3 stars because I didn't like reading what the characters were thinking instead of actual conversation. There was no real flow because the character would spend so much time describing what they saw, how they felt but in their mind (sometimes during a supposed conversation) through a majority of the book.

I picked this book up without having read the other books 1 to 4 in the series, but I didn't feel lost at all. The author did a great job showing the world and filtering in the backstory. Great writing and storytelling.

The Dragonfury books are one of my favorites. I have loved Venom from the first book. I was really looking forward to his story. While the overall story was good, there just wasn't much of Venom and Evie.
Evelyn has fallen on hard times, she's lost her job, and her mother died recently leaving her to handle the huge gambling debt she owes the Russian mob. She finds herself in a dire situation with, in her mind, only one option left. Sell the only thing she has left to sell, herself.
Venom is a rarity among Dragonkind, a venomous dragon. A very powerful one. He has toxins running through his veins. Any prolonged contact with his skin could kill. He has never been able to spend more than an hour at a time with any female. He's lonely. Now with his best friend mated, he's not only lonely, but bored. That's when he finds himself breaking protocol and heading out without backup, looking for a little female attention. Which is how he ends up meeting Evie. She is a very High Energy female. Very desirable among his kind. And there is instant attraction. One touch and Venom knows she is strong enough to handle his touch. He also knows he's found his mate. But he's determined not to do what his pack mates have done when they find their mates. Kidnapping is not in his plan, he wants to woo her, date her, and introduce her to his world slowly. Things don't go quite as planned, he lets her go, and she finds herself face to face with his enemy. And then he kidnaps her.
This was a good story, but it had a different feel than the earlier books. It seems the farther we get into the major story arc, the war between the Nightfuries and the Razorbacks, the romance seems to drop off the page and we get more of an urban fantasy type story. Venom and Evie meet early in the book, but they don't get together until almost half way through the book. There are lots of subplots going on at once. The metallics, Haider and Gage, dealing with their escape, Ivar and his plotting and dealing with his "superbug", Bastian dealing with everything. I missed the females, the other mates, in this book. Daimler does make a brief appearance but I missed the "family feel" of them being at Black Diamond.
It felt like juggling with too many balls in the air at the same time.
I definitely wouldn't recommend starting with this book. There is too much back story missing. Go back and read the earlier books, get the whole story. It's worth it. I will keep reading the series, I just hope they get back to what drew me to the series in the first place, the romance.

Venom secretly longed for a relationship. Seeing his brothers in arms had opened up his eyes to what he needs. Someone he can call his own. But being a toxic dragon that he is, he never thought it was possible...until the night he goes AWOL.

Evelyn and Venom’s story was actually sweet. Venom...was very sweet.
I love the endless fight between the Dragonfuries and the Razorbacks. There is always action packed and nail biting scenes between the two. It always involves flying dragons with each using their powers and talents. It’s pretty epic!

I also enjoy seeing the rest of the crew. Of course, there’s the funny banters and awesome comradery.

HARD TO TOP!

Every time I pick up a book from this series I think to myself that I surely I can't love it more than the last one. And so far with every book in the series I've been proven wrong.

I like Venom in the other books, sure, but he kind of was a jerk at times, even though he made me laugh. So I was slightly apprehensive about his story.

Of course none of that needed to be. He was more than awesome! I felt for him from the start and I really wanted him to have happiness! I thought I am in a deeper, more real light.

I adored Evelyn from the start as well. She has everything that I require for an awesome heroine in a book. She's strong, she's funny and she's just mushy enough on the inside.

I do enjoy Callahan's style of writing with the different points of view. I liked all of the subplots in the book and it deepened the world and made me want more.

I liked that Ivar reminisced about Sasha and it gave me a slight hope, but my curiosity is just as great, that he might not be as bad as we all think. He is driven toward his cause even if his way of execution is not the best way to go. I am curious to see how Callahan will make him redeemable as a hero. Because I assume he gets an HEA as well later. I like Sasha very much and she doesn't have an evil bone in her body.

I know that the items that are currently unresolved will be addressed and furthered in the next book the only bad thing is I can't have it now!

This book is a fantastic addition to a fantastic series and I very much impatiently anticipate more!

Wick is still my favorite LOL! Oh, with a side of Mac!

I have been a Venom fan throughout this series. I was so happy to see him get his own book! He is a great friend, a kick ass warrior, a totally alpha male, a video game geek, and a shifter thinking he can never have what his friends have---a true mate to spend the rest of his life with. As his name says, Venom is poisonous. No one can touch him for very long without become sick or dead. Apparently his true mate is immune to his poisons. Venom is anything if not calm and encouraging to Evelyn. They work well together as a pair. The sexual chemistry is off the charts! Although there is some romance going on here, there is so much action and intrigue going on in this book, I found myself having to take a break every once in awhile just to calm myself down. This author writes realistic male bonding/companionship moments. It's obvious she grew up either with a bunch of brothers or hung around the guys from the all male hockey team she was on. There are times I found myself laughing out loud! Fans of the series will be happy to know that there are story lines from previous books that hang out in this story and only add to the suspense. The story completely sucked me in from page one. I was hoping the book would not end because that meant I had to wait to find out what happens next to this group of warriors. The Night Fury guys are up for any challenge. I'm looking forward to the next installment. Check out books 1-4 first before you read this one so that you are up to speed on the Dragon Fury world.

Awesome! This was my first Coreene Callahan book, and I loved it! I don't usually like to start a new series without starting from the beginning. Sometimes things don't make sense, or they are confusing, but that was not a problem with this book. It was very interesting and enthralling. It is all written so well. Venom is one of my all-time favorite characters. He is so wonderfully complex. It is easy to see a lot of thought and feelings had to go into writing his character. I loved that he was confident one minute, but worried and doubtful the next. He would be dangerous and volatile, but then sensitive and loyal. Everything about him blended perfectly to make a fascinating character. Evie was the perfect piece to his puzzle. Their story is definitely one you don't want to miss. There is a lot of action. The interaction between all the dragons is a lot of fun too. I really enjoy the witty and sarcastic remarks, as well as the devotion that is very evident between them. The villains were another one of my favorite parts of the book. Ivar kind of has me torn about how I feel about him. He does bad things, but I feel bad for him. My indecision, as far as he is concerned, really makes this book stand out for me. Amazing characters!!! I am definitely going to check out the other books in the series that I have missed. You should too! I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
