After experiencing another breakdown, recently divorced Layla meets the handsome Cross, a free-spirited white guy who has his own issues. The two find solace together and when their friendship blossoms into love; Layla rediscovers her true self and the happiness she’s missed.
Ironically, while Layla’s life seems to be getting back on track, her sisters’ lives are spiraling out of control. Valerie, who seems obsessed with not being able to have a child, is unknowingly pushing her husband into another woman’s arms.
Valerie also blames Corrine, her younger sister, for a fatal tragedy and has hated her ever since. On top of the family chaos, Layla is put through more obstacles than anyone can handle, but proves that with Cross’ love and support, she can win any battle.

I liked this book. I love the fact that the author tackled mental illness, marital issues, jealousy, mental abuse and other issues. I also loved that it was about family as well as a romance. It took on a lot but the author handled it very well. I would recommend this book and read this author again.
This was a every good story. It had a lot going on in the beginning , but once u got the jist of things it read very well.. I didn't care much f poo r the end. It kinda left all the plots end abruptly. To me no real ending to some of them. But it wasn't to bad
I really enjoyed this story. It was a story about love, sisterly, motherly, and relationship-type love. I absolutely would recommend this story. The story was well-written and had some great life lessons on love and forgiveness in the story.
Okay, how do I start? This book was all over the place. It jumped from family drama to mental problems the family never discussed or felt with. Not a very good book. It just ended. Wanted to give 1 1/2 credits
This was such an amazing story. It touched me on so many levels. I love reading books that hold meanings and keep you focused. I laughed, smiled, cried, got mad and sad all at the same time. Excellent read
