My Divorce Diary: Confessions of a Woman Rewriting Her Life

Rate this book
My Divorce Diary is an unapologetically honest, wickedly funny, and sometimes cringe-worthy memoir about one woman’s messy, brave, and brutally relatable journey through divorce and reinvention.

At 40, Cate is a mother of two, newly separated, and navigating the wild terrain of modern dating, midlife reinvention, and the unfiltered realities of separation. Searching for her self-worth through a string of bad dates and questionable decisions, she stumbles—often hilariously—toward healing. From accidental one-night stands and mile high memberships to therapy breakthroughs, she’s learning how to rebuild a life that finally feels like her own.

Part memoir, part confessional, Cate’s story is a candid and hilarious look at what happens when you stop living the life you’re supposed to and start chasing the one that actually brings you joy.

So pour a glass of wine, buckle up, and get ready to laugh, cry, and cringe right alongside her as Cate shows that choosing yourself isn’t the end of the story—it’s the beginning of a better one.

A Surprising Heartfelt Read

This was a surprising heartfelt and fun read. After the end of a long term relationship, Cate finds herself divorced with two kids. The book explores her life post divorce, as Cate navigates the ups and downs of dating and adjusting to her new single status. The book is cleverly written. As readers, we experience both the fun side of Cate as she attempts to date, while sympathizing with her grief as she reflects about her past and lost relationship. The book is both witty and heartfelt. A perfect read for those rooting for second chances.

I loved reading this! So many laugh out loud stories and true bits of wisdom. You don’t have to be ready, in the midst of or just lived through divorce to get something out of this book. Learning to accept yourself, be confident and know who you are is important for everyone!

Catherine Harle’s memoir is a raw, hilarious, and deeply relatable deep-dive into life after divorce. With sharp wit and unflinching honesty, she chronicles the messy beauty of starting over—from awkward dates and shifting friendships to unexpected grief in the grocery aisle. It reads like a wine-soaked call with your best friend: part therapy, part stand-up, and all heart. Perfect for anyone navigating heartbreak, healing, or rediscovery, this book reminds us that falling apart is sometimes the first step to finding yourself. Funny, vulnerable, and unforgettable.

Catherine Harle writes about her divorce. The heartbreak, deep loneliness and loss to her and her family. Also her dates and sex. This is a pretty deep dive into a breakup she saw coming but had a hard time acknowledging.
Her writing is her truth told through therapy, drinking, friendships, and crazy dating.
And it's a story of a woman on a quest to find herself.
Very entertaining.
If you like memoirs, you should read this.

A brilliant journey of self discovery through divorce.

The book has many emotions from lows to highs and in the midst of re-inventing herself she finds humor. I highly recommend this inspiring book about starting your life over again after divorce.

Getting to happy - This is a wonderful voyage into a woman's status change from wife to single. A choice she made because she was no longer happy with her life partner. Even if it's not intended as a self-help book, the author's revelations through her journal entries provide an intimate look into her personal challenges that can be used by others to help direct them. What better advice can be had than from someone who's been there and done that? Sometimes amusing, sometimes sad, always heartfelt and honest.
