The group are in week four and as the hours and days tick by, the more perilous it becomes. It is clear that the cabin at Cardboard Hill can not be sanctuary for the long term, and Karen, Pickle, Shaz and Wolf are indecisive on what to do next.
Meanwhile Jack Slade and Vince Kindl are in a quandary of their own. The trip to the hospital to get medical supplies hasn't turned out the way they had planned, and now on foot, they make their way back to Vince's camp through the woods where danger is all around from the dead and the living.
So what does the future hold for our struggling survivors as they fight to stay alive?
Is death around the corner for some of them? Only time will tell.
I think I'm about done with this series. There is so much repetition and retelling of previous stories, as other reviewers have mentioned, the books seriously need a good edit to correct bad spelling/grammar and whilst I enjoy the theme, general story and the interactions especially between some of the characters (Pickle, Karen and Shaz) I do not like all of the characters and in particular, Vince; the character and stories that centre around him are too stupid and vulgar IMO and it takes you out of the story.
While I have read many zombie series this is very enjoyable. Many of the characters die with in the book series. Pickle is a great character. Read this book.
I read this and was 90% in when one of his most likeable characters was killed, i was gutted as apart from Pickle, (Pickles lovely) he's made his characters all too believable, which sadly means some of them just aren't very nice. Vince you are vile :) I have a queue of books on my kindle but i had to download no 5 in this series straight away. I'm really enjoying them and would recommend this series to any zombie lover. but be warned this writer doesn't pull any punches with who bites it, but then it does as to the suspense.
