The debut cookbook and guidebook for memorable gatherings from bestselling author and interior design expert Shea McGee.
After three years of perfecting every detail and testing recipes on her family at home, Shea McGee presents Around the Table, her first cookbook—a beautiful fusion of design expertise and culinary passion.
Filled with intimate anecdotes about hosting and entertaining, practical tips, seasonal tablescapes, and curated recipes, readers will learn how to effortlessly create elevated dining experiences. More than just a cookbook, it's a complete guide to memorable gatherings that seamlessly blends food, design, and personal storytelling.
Around the Table reveals how the right setting transforms every recipe into an invitation for meaningful moments and lasting memories.
Born to a single mother in the small town of Racine, WI., Shea found solace in books, writing, and gymnastics at a very early age. Since then, she's been letting her imagination carry her through her life. Now a San Diegan since the age of 7, she enjoys her time still reading as if it never went out of style, eating, and writing stories she'd want to read. A mother of one rambunctious little boy, she splits her time in between being a devoted mother, writer, and career woman of the 99s and the 2000s.
Beautiful book. This is not just a pretty book; it’s full of real, thoughtful recipes that I WANT to make. Not overly fancy, not overly complicated, but very inviting! The tablescapes are simply perfect. Natural, elegant, a combination of homey, rustic, fancy. I love the use of florals, greenery, tall candlesticks, and lights. I want my tables to look like this and my food to look just as pretty. I imagine inviting friends to sit at these tables, taking, eating, and hanging out for hours. Recipes I’ll be trying ASAP: tiny tomato tarts, plum and fennel pork chops, beef pot pie soup, picnic potato chips. The drinks and desserts are very tempting too. I know this will be one of my most favorite books in my cookbook collection.
