This book 10 of the series was to put it mildly, rather boring. Also, I can't help but remark that I simply loathe the coaster countess. I cannot understand why everyone was so terrified of her; even if it was the era and times. I would never have stood for her insults, even though I am considered to be quite mild mannered. However, I have gotten through 10 books of the series so far so expect to finish them. I can't help but hope somebody does a way with that horrible woman.
I have enjoyed this series from the very first book and this book is no exception. In this adventure Tabitha and Wolf (the Earl of Pembroke) have decided to move the household to the Pembroke estate out in the country and away from London. Before they could embark, they received an urgent telegram from Henry Cyril Paget, the 5th Marquess of Anglesey, requesting they go there to save the life of personal friend of his, but to find out who, they needed to be told in person. I highly recommend this book and look forward to the next one. PS: I had further commentary on this but felt it would lessen your enjoyment of the story. Rest assured it is an excellent story and worthy of your time and effort.
The entourage of unusual size is rerouted from a journey to Pembroke to an estate in the wild Welch mountains. An urgent plea to save an unknown person of rank from assasination has the extended crew investigators on the run to discover and foil the plot.
Tabitha, Wolf and their curious group of friends definitely entertained me. I really liked Rat using his new skills to help move the investigation along. Having characters from previous books appear again in this book was fantastic. All in all a super read.
I have read all of the Tabitha and Wolf mysteries to date, and I have never been disappointed. The characters are memorable and the stories intriguing. I can't wait for the next release!
I love this series, but this story line was boring. I am sick of the bully dowager being rude. It seems no one puts her in her place. If Tabitha says " Mama" one more time, I will be sick. Wolf should stand up to his nickname.
