THE PLAYER (Night of the Kings Collection Volume Five) Includes the following books:
David (Night of the Kings 19), David's First Book
"Night of the Kings" has got to be one of my favorite Shayne Ford series. I think that's why it's so easy for me to relate to her character's personality. Since this is book 19 in the series, they feel like old friends after we've gone through so much together, and now it's David's turn. Trust me when I say this one has been a long time coming, and it's certainly worth the wait. Read the blurb and author notes. Although you can start with this book, there is so much backstory within this group of friends, including David and Rain, that you won't want to miss out on all that's come before. I love that Ms. Ford has brought in characters from her previous books within the series, reawakening all that made me fall in love with the series in the first place. David and Liz bring all the anticipation, the quick-witted back-and-forth that comes from an attraction being denied, and then the full explosion of bringing it to life, only to be kept secret. The anticipation of what's to come has been triggered by what is delivered in this book. I can't wait.
David's Proposal (Night of the Kings 20)
Hang on tight. This is a wild ride!
Omg, I laughed so hard while shaking my head when her thought of being "mysterious" seemed to backfire. The chemistry between these two is palpable. Truthfully, I don't know how it can't be felt by everyone else around them. It was exciting to be part of Ed and Thea's wedding with all our old friends there, yet I'm trying to figure out what's happening with Chloe and her mystery man. Shayne Ford has reached a new level with this storyline, and it's exhilarating.
David's Chase (Night of the Kings 21)
Ms. Ford once again weaves the storyline with all the angst that comes with the illicit anticipation between David and Liz. From Liz's point of view, the subtle push and pull of emotions only makes it all the more relatable. And can we talk about Terry? If ever there was proof of a mother's timing, she's mastered the skill. Now I'm wondering how Liz intends to work things around Chloe. This is a great read that flows like a normal conversation between friends ... and I'm included!

"David's Love" is the 22nd book in Shayne Ford's "Night of Kings" series and the third and final installment in the story of David and Elizabeth. What a spectacular story it is!
These characters have truly captured my heart and have remained on my mind. They continue to keep secrets from everyone, and their inventive games to maintain their connection while apart add an intriguing layer of drama. Additionally, Chloe's unexpected return and her new job at the boutique alongside Liz create even more tension.
This book had me laughing, crying, feeling giddy, and on the edge of my seat, all while reaching for a cold drink to cool down! By the end, I was completely melted into a puddle of emotion. I absolutely loved David and Elizabeth's journey; as always, Ms. Ford never disappoints!
