“The S-level Alpha Is Pregnant!”
A black-bellied, soft-spoken, deceptive beauty who pretends to be weak (gong) VS a flirtatious playboy who firmly believes himself to be the top (shou).

Sheng Shaoyou encountered his ideal type—a delicate and alluring little white orchid named Hua Yong—at his arch-enemy’s place.
He wanted to pluck this fragile flower, place it in a vase, and keep it hidden at home. But little did he know, this seemingly ‘delicate white orchid’ was no ordinary flower—it was a rare and noble Ghost Orchid, dark and enigmatic.

At a banquet, Sheng Shaoyou, an esteemed S-level Alpha, was drugged and assaulted as though he were an Omega. His gland was bitten and injured. Seizing the opportunity, Sheng Shaoqing, an illegitimate son who had long coveted Sheng Shaoyou’s position, struck against him.

The seemingly delicate “white orchid” silently withdrew his soft smile. The radiant and charming beauty suddenly turned sharp and sinister.

“I’ve been polite to you all this time because you’re my brother-in-law. But you dared to aim for Mr. Sheng’s life and even ruptured my gland. Though it will heal soon, it hurts a lot—”

“—So, Shaoqing, you’re in big trouble now.”

I enjoyed this from start to finish. Excellent fan translation by White Lotus. I decided to read a few chapters to see how it compared to the drama releasing and then just couldn't stop... 😅Binge read the whole thing over the weekend. The drama so far, it's not all released, has stuck faithfully to the novel. The only real difference so far is it wasn't a public library it was the library of Mr. Sheng's mansion. Other scenes were cut like the go-kart track, which is understandable.

Nobody's more obsessive than Hua Yong for Sheng Shaoyou. One of my most favorite tropes. Not sure why he even has that suite at X Hotel since he can just break out anytime. Maybe to give himself the illusion of being secured? Kind of silly.

I felt so bad for the time gap between Shen Wenlang and Gao Tu. Though I am glad it seems to be working out in the end.

It also looks like Little Peanut and Shen Lele are going to be inseparable.

I'm happy the author decided to include the mermaid tale Hua Yong talked about writing when he was younger.

I genuinely don’t know how to explain the grip this novel has on me except by saying it’s like watching a slow-motion car crash you can’t look away from. Like from page one, the author said, “let’s throw logic out the window and go full feral obsession”, and I swear I was hooked instantly. An alpha bottom? Mpreg alpha? Enigma pretending to be an omega? Deranged obsessed gong who literally dedicated fifteen years of his life to plotting for his man? This book is literally my Roman Empire. I can’t stop thinking about it.
Huayong. Oh my god. clinically insane. Not “haha quirky” insane, I mean full textbook delusional obsessive “your existence is my oxygen” insane, and I mean that in the most entertaining way possible. He is so terrifyingly dedicated that it borders on comedy. Fifteen years of plotting, fifteen years of scheming, fifteen years of making his entire personality about one person. Like, imagine being eight years old, asking the stranger who saved you for their number, and they just write a big fat X instead. Any normal kid would sulk, maybe cry a little, then move on. Not Huayong. This man grows up, builds an entire company, and names it “X Holdings” just to memorialise the rejection. Then he makes another called HS Holdings (Huayong + Shaoyou). Like, bro disguised himself as an omega, literally rewired his own identity around one man. That’s not love, that’s religion. Huayong worships at the church of Shaoyou and he is the high priest, the congregation, and the altar all at once. Tell me that’s not deranged devotion. This man literally wakes up every day breathing “Shaoyou Shaoyou Shaoyou.” His world has one planet, one sun, one moon, and that is Sheng Shaoyou. Everything else? Dust. What gets me is the absolute lack of chill. He could have just… confessed. Or pursued Shaoyou normally. But no, he said “let me rewrite biology, act like an omega, and bleed myself dry during rut while pretending I’m being defiled by others, just so I can keep his attention.” Sir. Therapy. Now. And yet??? I eat it up every time because his insanity is delivered with the charisma of ten suns. His love letters, his dramatic speeches, “oops I almost killed someone but stopped because Shaoyou wouldn’t like it” moments. Peak unhinged comedy. He is terrifying, but he is also the most entertaining character in the entire book.

And then we have Shaoyou, poor Shaoyou, my sweet disaster child. He just wants to cure his dying dad and live some semblance of a normal life but NOPE, fate threw Huayong at him like a rabid wolf and basically rewrites your entire future without permission. Shaoyou… bless him, he’s still suffering. Still unconscious for like 70% of the novel (bro has fainting in his DNA atp), I don’t know how this man has any brain cells left, the way he’s constantly knocked out. (This man spends more time knocked out than awake I swear). And every time he wakes up, things are ten times worse. His half-brother trying to remove his glands, kidnappers injecting cyanide, earthquakes, and constantly being manipulated. Babes never catches a break. But you know what kills me? He LETS IT HAPPEN, his heart is too soft to truly walk away. He gets mad, he cries, he fights, but when Huayong is bleeding out? He’s the first one to reach for him. When Huayong confesses he’s the one who r*ped him? He’s still tending to his wounds. LIKE SIR PICK A SIDE. But that’s Shaoyou, he’s the anchor in Huayong’s storm. Fragile, kind, sometimes blind, but the only reason this ship sails instead of capsizing. Do I scream at him to leave? Yes. Do I also cheer when he leans into Huayong’s madness? Also yes. He’s tragic, he’s frustrating, he’s lovable, and he’s necessary. Without Shaoyou, Huayong is just a monster. With him, he’s a monster on a leash.
The pheromone stuff?? INSANE. Huayong literally pretends to be an omega, uses pheromone modifiers, just to trick Shaoyou into thinking he’s his type. Like sir??? You are literally an enigma, the rarest of rare, top-tier predator status, and you are playacting omega just to fit into this man’s preferences?? That’s not romance, that’s an Oscar-worthy performance of desperation. And the gag is, Shaoyou’s type was literally him anyways. All that scheming, all that self-harm, and for what? For vibes.
Speaking of self-harm, WHY does Huayong keep hurting himself like it’s a love language?? The rut scenes? Stabbing himself up, tearing himself apart, leaving scars ON PURPOSE so Shaoyou will see them?? And then during rut pretending he’s being gang-used by multiple alphas to “explain” his disappearance instead of just saying anything else? Sir. This is not the excuse you think it is. My jaw was on the floor. Like my man Wenlang said, everyone around them is suffering for free. Wenlang is the true victim of this novel and I stand by that (not between him and Gao Tu though).
And then the domestic scene. Bruh. Watching Huayong try to “play house” is hilarious because he has zero concept of normalcy. Like cooking breakfast? No, this man is too busy plotting how to make sure Shaoyou never leaves him. Taking a walk together? No, Huayong is out here lowkey sniffing him like a wolf, making sure his scent is plastered all over Shaoyou so no one else dares look at him. The man is incapable of casual love. It’s always 110% obsession, 0% chill. And honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
And then Shaoyou’s half-brother??? Trash. Absolute trash. The way he’s so jealous for no reason, inventing fake scenarios in his head, even trying to remove Shaoyou’s glands?? Are you kidding me?? That man had one job. Be a sibling, and he failed so hard I wanted Huayong to yeet him off a balcony.
Now my FAVOURITE unhinged moment, the earthquake arc. Tell me why Huayong is out here pulling a full action hero performance, protecting Shaoyou with his literal body, letting himself get impaled by a rod, and then yanking it out with his bare hands like it’s a splinter. Like excuse me sir??? You are bleeding out. But no, priorities are 1) save Shaoyou, 2) keep looking sexy while saving Shaoyou, 3) not give a fuck that you’re revealing you’re actually not an omega mid-apocalypse. Shaoyou wakes up, realises he’s been lied to that entire time, finds out Huayong’s the one who r*ped him at X Hotel, and he’s rightfully pissed, but then what does he do? He still cares. He still tends to him. I was screaming. Like Shaoyou, babes, the bar is not underground; it’s in the earth’s core at this point.
And Huayong during surgery? Shoulder having a hole in it from the rod, bleeding out, literally dying, and his brain is STILL like “how do I make Shaoyou mine forever… Maybe lock him up? maybe force a bond? oh no, wait, he’s softhearted, I should be gentle this time.” Sir focus on SURVIVING the surgery first. He is so insane it loops back around into being iconic.
And then the letter writing. THE LETTERS. “Please scent this paper so I can smell you while I read.” I nearly threw my phone across the room. Who does that??? Who has the gall??? Huayong. Only Huayong. And Shaoyou is just like “uhhh I’m not gay and I don’t like alphas” like sir literally one of your 32 exes that you dated for six months back in the day was a man, what do you MEAN. The delusion is strong in both of them.
The kidnapping arc had me HOWLING. Shaoyou being Shaoyou, of course he’s unconscious again (what else is new). Injected with anesthetic and cyanide because these kidnappers are extra as hell. And then here comes Huayong like a deranged superhero, jumping SEVEN STORIES through a window, announcing to the kidnappers that Shaoyou is HIS (because apparently it’s never the wrong time to make that claim). Almost kills a man but then goes “oops can’t murder, Mr. Sheng wouldn’t like it, fortunately, fortunately” while PATTING HIS CHEST. Comedy GOLD. This man is unwell.
But then, the permanent marking scene. Insanity. Shaoyou’s literally dying from cyanide, and Huayong is like “well guess I gotta permanently mark him now, shame it’s earlier than I planned but yay he’s officially mine forever.” He is OVERJOYED. Like girl, your lover is half-dead but you’re smiling because he’s officially yours now?? That’s yandere behaviour at its PEAK. And then he just casually waives billions in debt like it’s pocket change, because Shaoyou’s worth more than any empire. At this point, his net worth is just Shaoyou’s existence.
And of course, the hotel scene post-marking. Classic. Messy. Hot. Absolutely unhinged. Peak toxic romance. At this point, they are bound, doomed, and deliriously in love in the most terrifying way possible. And me? I’m clapping like a seal, eating it up, begging for more.
One scene that killed me was the whole pregnancy situation. Like, yes, I signed up for mpreg alpha nonsense, but nothing could prepare me for the sheer drama of it. Huayong is basically vibrating with excitement, like “finally my baby, our love manifested physically, I’ve transcended existence.” Meanwhile, Shaoyou is just TIRED. Exhausted. He’s like “sir I can’t even survive YOU on a normal day, and now you’ve put a baby in me???” The contrast had me cackling. But also Huayong is the type of man to build an empire just to baby-proof it, and you know he absolutely tried.
And can we TALK about how the novel really leaned into the comedy sometimes?? Freaking loved it, honestly. The side stories also gave us some perspective shifts, and honestly, Justice for Wenlang. My man is just trying to exist, and yet he’s trapped between a rabid wolf and his half-conscious prey. He can’t fight Huayong (too strong), he can’t scold Shaoyou (Huayong won’t allow it), and he can’t leave (he’s tethered by circumstance). Every time these two do something insane, Wenlang’s blood pressure goes up 20 points. He is the embodiment of “I don’t get paid enough for this shit.” Honestly, if anyone deserves his own spin-off vacation arc where he just drinks cocktails on a beach FAR away from Huayong and Shaoyou, it’s him. He’s constantly being dragged into chaos, forced to babysit, forced to witness all the toxicity, and never once gets a break. Wenlang is me, the reader, screaming from the sidelines while the main couple spirals deeper into insanity. He’s the comic relief, the tragic bystander, the audience insert, and the most relatable character in this whole cursed universe.
BUT..… Wenlang is not completely innocent. I cannot. I literally cannot with this man. Every time he opens his mouth it’s like venom mixed with jealousy; he never says anything nice, and yet Gao Tu is still there, quietly absorbing it all like the soft little rabbit he is, and I’m over here screaming, “why???” After everything Wenlang has done, every snide comment, every passive-aggressive little jab, every moment of just… emotional neglect, Gao Tu just… forgives him? And he doesn’t just forgive him, he keeps caring, keeps being patient, keeps showing up even when Wenlang is being completely oblivious to his own feelings! Wenlang doesn’t realise what he feels until practically forced by some external events (Huayong literally had to tell Wenlang of his own feelings), and it’s like, literally, what the hell man? How are you this dense? How do you expect Gao Tu to just sit there and not get hurt while you’re juggling your jealousy and pride like some kind of S-tier alpha chaos? And Gao Tu, bless him, he’s just quietly suffering, tiny moments of flustered, soft omega energy when Wenlang gets a little too sharp or too cold, and you feel every inch of it, his patience, his sweetness, his willingness to hold onto this chaotic man who doesn’t even realise he’s hurting him half the time. And then when Wenlang does actually start showing that tiny bit of care, it’s like fireworks in the middle of a storm, like finally, finally some acknowledgment, but also I’m crying because it’s taken so long for him to realise what he’s feeling and Gao Tu has been there the whole time, and the tension? The emotional whiplash? It’s exquisite torture. I love Gao Tu so much; he’s soft, he’s sweet, he’s endlessly patient, he’s literally the heart of this disaster, and Wenlang! Chaotic, jealous, dense Wenlang is simultaneously infuriating and heartbreakingly human, and the way their relationship builds, stumbles, falters, and still somehow works is honestly the kind of messy, emotionally draining, yet satisfying journey I live for. Every little glance, every unspoken word, every moment of suppressed feelings. It’s pure chaos energy with a soft, patient core, and I cannot stop thinking about them, imagining Gao Tu quietly enduring Wenlang’s messiness while slowly, painfully, beautifully unravelling the walls Wenlang built around himself. Absolute love, absolute chaos, absolute perfection.
This whole book is a fever dream. It’s toxic, it’s stressful, it’s deranged. But it’s also addictive, intoxicating, and honestly hilarious in how far it pushes obsession. Huayong is the ultimate yandere gong, dedicated, manipulative, violent, insane, and Shaoyou is the long-suffering shou whose heart is too soft to truly resist. Together, they are chaos incarnate, and I would read 100 more chapters of their messy love story without hesitation. The extras and side stories are basically the cherry on top of the most deranged sundae I’ve ever eaten. Sweet, messy, sometimes hilarious, sometimes terrifying, and always addictive. I came out of them more attached than ever, even though logically I should be running for the hills. But that’s the magic of this novel: it drags you into the madness, and by the time you realise it’s toxic, you’re already branded with Huayong’s name too.

3.5 estrellas.

I have now finished "Desire," it was long, it was bitterly sweet, and the characters annoyed me to no end, and I absolutely loved every bit of it. To be honest though, at some point, I just became incredibly irritated with everyone. A few misunderstandings I get. I'm a pretty amazing communicator (*lie detected*) but I can emphasize with people having issues telling each other things - the constant miscommunication in this one though just started to really grate on me after a while. Especially considering that it seemed like a lot of stuff just wasn't explained. I heard there was a drama, which is always exciting, so I'm happy to give that a try!

Some people believe in fairytales, and some stories make you believe in them too. At a certain point, I stopped. Stories no longer made sense to me. I kept reading, but not out of wonder—out of fear. I didn’t want people to read more stories than I did. And so, little by little, magic, love, grief, and despair began to fade.

Then Desire arrived and sold me another kind of plot—one that overwhelmed me to the point where I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I am well aware of the things Ah Yong did, but I believe he showed me what love truly means. Some people will call him a lunatic, a liar, manipulative, obsessive—and I have called him those things too. I have never forgotten what he did. But I also saw how he changed for Shaoyou, and how Shaoyou changed for him.

Because that’s what love is—not perfect, not pure. You tolerate things that don’t suit your tastes for the sake of the person you love. You cherish them, and you despair over them. Ah Yong truly loved Shaoyou. He is a love-struck fool who built his entire life around him. Shaoyou is the person he loves the most, the one he has craved for fifteen years. His life would be meaningless without him. That’s not just manipulation—it’s carefulness. He knows Shaoyou doesn’t love people, doesn’t care for relationships. That’s why he had to weave his lies so tightly: because the moment Shaoyou decides he doesn’t want him anymore would be the end of Ah Yong. And for that reason, he tamed and nourished their relationship with desperate precision.

But here is the truth: I challenge the idea that love must be morally clean to be real. The power of Desire comes from that uncomfortable truth—love can be obsessive, selfish, and even destructive, yet still deeply genuine. And instead of simplifying Ah Yong into “villain” or “redeemed hero,” I see him as a man whose love is messy, flawed, and desperate.

The novel also never pretends Shaoyou is a passive victim. He is not “all well-behaved,” and the love between them, however twisted, is mutual. This balance is what keeps Desire from being a moral tale—it is instead a study in possessive love, where survival, intimacy, and obsession are tangled together.

And so I return to the line that, for me, encapsulates the novel’s beating heart: True love always has its own premonition. After so many years, Hua Yong showed Sheng Shaoyou, through actions, that temptation, lust, and desire can be warm. ଘ(੭ˊᵕˋ)੭🏹 ˚.⁺⊹🌹

I don't want to judge the translation because it's just done by fans, but I think no matter what it was just too long. So much stuff was repeated chapters later.

I do wish the two couples parts had been more mixed instead of like skipping back in time to tell the second couple's stuff.

The switcharoo on their secondary gender roles is fun butttt I wish the author had committed more to it. Why couldn't Hua Yong have actually been taken to be studied and Shen Shouyou could have saved him? Or something the made them equal.

My favorite part was anything with Sheng Wenlang, he's sucks so bad but he's so funny. Also his parents stuff 👁️👃👁️ was intriguing.

Overall very dramatic, very silly. Had a fun time.

This is really well written and it is a good story. I binge read about 30 chapters.
The thing is, when I went to pick the book back up I kept thinking of the cheating (that one character excused and didn't think of as cheating) and all the lying. This is a darker novel, so I expected some of this, but for some reason the dynamic with all this going on just didn't work for me.

I still want to know how everything will play out, but not enough to keep going. Perhaps I'll want to pick it up again in the future.

It's been a few days since I finished reading this, but my mind just doesn't want to move on from the story.

I'm one of those people who saw the show first, then ran to read the story because I just wanted more details (and I got them), but I especially wanted more of Wenlang and Gao Tu.

The only minus of this story, as far as I'm concerned, is the fact that we are not showed enough of their reunion at the end. I'm thankful for ao3 in this regard, because I managed to find there a couple of fanfics that filled in those voids.

If you want to read an omegaverse that has mpreg and knotting but no shifters, if you don't mind a little bit...ok a lot of deceiving, some cheating, some miscommunication, and angst galore, then you'll love this... Actually, you know what?! You might love this even if you don't like those things, because I can say that I really don't like miscommunication or cheating, nor do I go searching for angst, but I ate this up and wanted more.

That being said, at the end of the year this will probably one of my favorite stories.

When I was watching the show I felt sorry for everything that Hua Yong had made ShaoYou go through, but when I read the story I felt like he deserved to feel a bit of pain, too. 🙈

But my biggest surprise when I read the story was the fact that my favorite character was Wenlang. Don't misunderstand me, he still made me want to slap him into tomorrow several times, but being able to get a look into his mind, I actually felt sorry for him, and it made me root for him even more...but I still wanted to see him grovelling at Gao Tu's feet.

In conclusion, I started watching the show for ShaoYou and Hua Yong and I started reading Desire for Wenlang and Gao Tu. I love both couples to pieces and I'm sure that I will reread this story in the future and I will rewatch the show, too. I really hope that it will be published in english someday, so I can add it on my shelf. But until then, I'm deeply grateful to White Lotus for their translation. 💖💖💖💖💖

P.S. If you're like me, and at the end of the book you need just a little bit more of Wenlang and Gao Tu, check out "The twist of the knife" and "Late Night Activities" by tnywitch on ao3. 😉 Read them in this order!

Unpopular opinion but I really really liked this.
I fell in love with Hua Yong's cunningness and Gao Tu's devotion from the beginning and couldn't stop until reading all the extras and the two fairy tales :))
Enjoyed the light and funny way of writing very much.
Also, at this moment you can watch the on screen adaptation on Viki.
The cast is on point and the actors playing the 4 main characters are so talented and doing a beautiful job.
From what I understood the writer is involved in the production and so far the tv series follows the book pretty well.
Going to Viki now and start rewatching the 7 episodes aired so far 😅

The premise of this novel is great; it's my first novel with a non-AO main couple. However, the execution... leaves much to be desired. There is this annoying little itch that makes me feel really unfulfilled. The relationship dynamic of MC and ML is unique, where ML looks deceptively beautiful like an O but is actually a ruthless Enigma.

I feel like this novel really wants to express the wife-chasing crematorium trope, but it does not capture the feeling well? I mean, I understand the wife-chasing methods of ML, as it's common knowledge that A has this absolute pride and arrogance and won't bow down to anyone easily. But the two domineering A CEOs in this novel really grate on my nerves. They have the setting of a domineering CEO, but with the IQs of some passersby.

I just got really frustrated reading the novel... It really has such good plots and storyline, but the execution... T^T Just when I was immersed and wanting to read more about the love, sweets and fluff between MC and ML, the story delves into the relationship woes of the secondary CP. UGH. Even in the extras of the secondary CP, I felt that most of the story was rehashed and expanded slightly from the main story. Don't get me wrong, I always love secondary CPs, but going too much into them before the satisfaction given by the main CP?!

There weren't many antagonists in the novel. I think about 3 comes to my mind? 2 were clear cut while 1 was uhhh borderline. What really vexed me was that the antagonists don't get face-slapped or much retribution.

I wanted to give it 3 stars, but the extra star is definitely for the amazing translation by White Lotuss on CG.

I don't think I'll read again... so frustrating. Good to check it out I guess?

This is a 3.5 Book

Desire is a good story. It gives exactly what it promises us: a not-all-that-healthy romance between Mr. Hidden-Enigma and CEO Sheng.

Although the first part dragged a bit, the second half of the book really made up for lost time! The main point for me is the dynamics between HuaYong and Sheng Shaoyou, since Mr. Sheng is an actual alpha that sees himself at the very top of the evolutionary pyramid.

I had a few problems with the pacing for the second pair, and tbh didn't think their story was very engaging when compared to HuaSheng's arc. So even though I might actually read this book again, I'd probably just jump around for my favorite parts kkkkk

But the best part of Desire is actually HY and SSY's extras!!! I really loved how we had family times and some imagined scenarios there kkkkk I wished the author had given us more about their family times alone and with Little Peanut - and also with SWL and GT (I just find SWL's and SSY's bickering hilarious for some reason, and with Peanut in the middle making them be good and actually tolerate each other kkkkkkk)

So ABO Desire: The Series has had me in a chokehold for the past few weeks and I wanted to experience the original novel. If you want an authentic translation then check out the one by White Lotus as they explain a lot of the Chinese cultural nuances.

Desire is an incredible omegaverse that had me simultaneously shocked and kicking my feet in delight. Hua Yong is absolutely obsessed with Sheng Shaoyou and relentless in his pursuit. His courtship can be utterly dramatic on occasions, but he truly loves Shaoyou and would do anything for his S-level alpha.

Then there's Gao Tu. My sweet Gao Tu! This is the main reason I wanted to read the novel because while the TV series was amazing, it didn't tie up Gao Tu and Shen Wenlang's stories. Although they are technically side characters, the extra chapters have my whole heart. Gao Tu's loyalty, steadfastness, and care are beautifully written and I was rooting for him the whole time.

There are some darker themes in this story, so do check the TWs before reading. But if you like paranormal romance, MM/BL romance, and omegaverse stories then this is one of the best I've read.

Enigma x Alpha omegaverse with babytrapping
Was it entertaining? Sure.
Would I say that the end goal was worth it? Absolutely not.
I had hopes that I might like this story and it failed to live up to my expectations; the first half is good, but halfway through when the ML’s true intentions are revealed the MC suddenly turns into a one-note idiot who never follows through on pushing back against the ML despite starting off as a “dominant Alpha” with nothing to actually show for it. They should theoretically be on equal footing, or at least have a love I can cheer for, and yet every time the Alpha let the Enigma come back with absolutely no consequences that showed to me that he had turned into a doormat. There was so much potential for the Alpha to have the Enigma grovel for him, and none of it ever happened.
I hated how abrupt the ending is for both couples, especially the secondary couple, that the last chapter had me dumbfounded.
The closest comparison I can make for the ML and MC’s love is to “Additional Inheritance” so if you liked that you’ll love this one.

This is not the first ABO danmei I've read. I think the writing style is not as detailed and angsty bold as 188. It's easier to digest with a more modern language style.

It's quite interesting because I read it while imagining the live-action cast from this danmei novel.

It includes danmei with a smooth storyline and the characters have the power to defend themselves except for our Gao Tu. Fortunately, the Omega Welfare Association works well to protect the human rights and safety of the Omegas. In the end, Gao Tu survived and managed to move from one hospital to another because this organization is effective!

Favorite characters?
- Gao Tu (cp2)
- Sheng Shaoyou (cp1)
- Hua Yong (cp1)
- Chen Pin Ming (Mr. Sheng's secretary)
- Shen Wen Lang (cp2)

funny how i didn’t have high expectations for this novel. i thought it would be just another typical cliché omegaverse story to kill some time with, but OH LORD I COULDN’T HAVE BEEN MORE WRONG!!! it was absolutely mind-blowing and i mean that in the best way possible both storylines were phenomenal with amazing world-building and gosh the emotional depth hit all the right notes 10/10 for the freakiness it was exactly how i love it to be -I’ll leave it at that- definitely one of my favorite reads this year and little fun fact i ended up reading it twice in a row

*3.5⭐️

This was fun to read after watching the series. I liked the world and the characters were interesting, I liked following their dynamics and the development of the romance. However, there were obviously some non-consensual scenes that were totally unecessary, and I wish we got more moments of them being happy and together, with their babies Little Peanut and Lele 🥺

A huge thank you to Chrysanthemumgarden for the wonderful translation and insightful comments!

Come to see Hua Yong manipulate malewife manhandle his way into Sheng Shaoyou's heart, and stay for... exactly that, but also to witness Shen Wenlang commit the fumble of the century. Like, dude!

Anyway, Hua Yong has entered my gallery of favorite gongs - joining Yan Wushi, Cang Ji, Shi Shanyan and Wen Kexing - and he's there to stay.

I'm so curious about Wenlang's parents; NJ, come on, give us their story now!

no one ask me why I'm giving this four stars I'll combust on the spot. I redacted one star only bc we needed to see on page the long awaited conversation between wenlang and gao tu and their life afterwards. You can't give the reader so much delicious angst and then not let them have their issues properly resolved. Also wenlang's parents are both so horrible no wonder he's like that lol.

This book is so bad balanced!!!
We have 2 couples , so main one has zero angst, also in the BIG REVEALING part . So is not really a divorce era... nothing. BUT on contrary the secondary couple is alwayssss suffering... they really never get to be happy together ... A nonsense

Great read. Kept me interested till the end. Only complaint is the suffering the second couple had to go through. A misunderstanding dragged on for 3+ years and their reconciliation was very vague and not detailed at all. But looking forward to the LA

HuaYong is crazy but I really appreciate how smart he is. Shen Shaoyu looks so fierce but is a softie inside.
Shen Welang always oblivious and Gao Tu always kind.
It was a really entertaining book that made me laugh, be annoyed, sometimes even cry.
Peanut and Lele are the cutest people ever.

Gau Du is the most pitiful character. His story was painful and with those 3 years, you really messed up. Hope the show won't follow that part.
