Casey Einstein is a former nurse, mom of three, and lifelong wellness enthusiast who shares friendly, practical guides to help readers find peace in everyday life. After years of juggling work, family, and all the “shoulds” that come with modern living, she realized how easy it is to lose ourselves in the rush. That realization inspired her to start writing — first with Retirement? Nailed It! and later with books like Cortisol Detox and Mindfulness For Anxiety Relief.
When not writing, you’ll find her walking her Labrador, savouring coffee on quiet mornings, exploring new places with a curious spirit and a love of travel, or reminding herself (like everyone else) to slow down and enjoy the small moments that make life meaningful.
I won a free copy of this book in a Goodreads Giveaway, and I'm so glad I did. I went in with low expectations, but was pleasantly surprised.
Overall, I really liked this cookbook. I loved the information and education background in the first few chapters. The recipes are delicious! And the reminder that this is just one piece, albeit a very powerful piece, in the journey.
There are some minor errors in some of the recipes. I.e. one description mentioned mint, but no mint was included in the recipe ingredients or instructions. It's easy to decide for yourself if you want to include it or not, and then you can use Google to find similar recipes to decide on how much.
I received this ebook free from a Goodreads giveaway. I thought it would be an interesting topic since I read health books quite frequently. I actually read the beginning twice just to go over the information again. This book has some awesome information on how to deal with stress, and eating to combat stress aka cortisol. I've marked a lot of the recipes to make as they are easy to make, few ingredients, and flavor combos that sound tasty to me. I'm extremely excited that I have a personal copy that I can go back and re-read when I need reminders to detox my cortisol.
Dealing with work, life, and trying to stay healthy, I felt totally burnt out. When I saw "Cortisol Detox," I knew it could help since I suspected my eating habits were making my stress worse. I'm super excited to try the 30-day plan and all the recipes, especially the smoothies and mocktails! I love that this book is a gentle way to reset, not some super strict diet.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is an excellent overview of the problems caused by excess cortisol and how to approach reducing the effects of cortisol in your system. There are many excellent recipes and strategies for detoxing your system in a detox plan. There are many ideas for dietary adjustments and a new way of looking at relaxation. I've already started using several of the author's ideas and recipes. She also is clear about which foods support the body for better results.
I’m glad I won this book as I’m battling PCOS insulin resistance. I’ve been running in the same place and wanted some meal ideas. The first thing I enjoyed is that there is an explanation of cortisol such as what it affects what it is etc. There are ways to reduce stress. Wha ti enjoyed more were the recipes. Although I haven’t tried them yet I look forward to trying some of these.
The book is simple in its layout, tells you everything step by step. Lets you know what cortisol is and why it’s important. Gives you simple recipes and when to eat them. Speaks on the point of the diet and gives you not only breakfast lunch and dinners, but drinks and snacks as well. Also includes a 30 day meal plan.

Thank you Goodreads Giveaway for a free copy of this book. It is very easy to read. Insightful tips for getting one’s stress and health under control. I have to wonder if I would have had access to this information 20 years ago, if my hypothyroidism could have been resolved through cortisol control. 30 day meal plan is a huge bonus, though, there were only a few recipes I would be willing to try.
Casey Einstein has taken principles of health and nutrition and simplified them, for a low-stress way to develop a detox diet. From beverages to each meal and snacks, recipes are given with easy to understand explanations of what benefits & nutrients each ingredient brings to the table. She has even included a ready made set of menus, for those who may feel too overwhelmed to start their own from scratch.
Nice little cookbook for a diet that helps with stress. So far, the recipes I have tried are good. They turn out well and they taste great. This is a recipe book I intend to use often.
