He saved her life, but she was pulled away from him too soon. Too soon to meet the hero behind his cape and thank him for what he did. All that’s left now is a stainless-steel ring.
Normally when you’re mistakenly given something that doesn’t belong to you, you return it to its rightful owner. But for Olivia Sawyer, she has greater plans. Deep in her heart, she knows the key to her destiny is embedded within the ridges of the metal he left behind.
He’s her destiny.
As months pass, Cade Owens finds himself wondering about the woman he saved that fateful night. Thinking about what she’s doing, if she’s living out her dreams, and imagining what the color of her eyes would be. It’s not until a chance encounter with a young woman that he eventually gets the answers to his questions. The catch is, they have no idea they’ve already met.
The only token to new revelations lies in the very object that’s bonded them from afar, and as truths are uncovered and secrets are revealed, two people find themselves begging the most important question of all….
Is it by accident that two people meet for the first time twice?
Drea has been a hopeless romantic for as long as she can remember. She became an avid romance reader in 2015 when the Fifty Shades of Grey craze broke out, and never looked back since.
Stories written by Jennifer Hartmann and Mia Sheridan are her absolute favorite, inspiring her to give writing a shot in 2022 when she settled down in her career. No, writing is not her full-time job, but a side project for now.
With the relentless support of her husband, Drea found a passion that's been buried for quite some time. Her only wish is to touch people the way romance books have impacted her. Full-circle moments, symbols, love that crawls through the trenches....give her all the high stakes.
But as emotional are her stories may be, Drea will never give up the spicy or smutty bits. NEVER. You'll always find an explosive slow burn in any book she writes.
Do you share the same tastes? We hope you'll follow along on this little journey that hopefully leads to bigger pastures.
It's been about three months since this book released, and in my heart, I've wanted to speak on this for my readers and readers to come🩷
I never thought twice about tackling a cheating subplot and moral dilemmas. For me, cheating was something I was forced to cope with growing up. Not by choice, but because of the people I loved. Although I was an outsider looking in, the circumstances still affected me greatly, and there are scars that still lay dormant inside me.
I beg everyone who reads this story to read with caution. Cheating is not a hard limit for me when I read, nor when I write, but that's not the case for everyone. I learned that sometimes...cheating comes with context and a bigger picture. I know people on BOTH sides-the cheater and the cheated on-and I love them ALL the same. Wild, huh? But this is the truth. My truth.
For me, true love isn't always found by taking a linear path, and moral dilemmas don't have to be taken at face value. Often times, there's a bigger picture, and I have to believe that everything happens for a reason.
For everyone who has read and left a review, thank you so very much. Just welcoming Cade and Olivia, and giving them a chance to share their story with you, is an incredibly feeling. This book is certainly not for everyone, so please read with care if you intend to pick this one up🩵
HI, HELLO! I wrote this :)
Beyond the grumpy x sunshine and steam factor, this book is for every hopeless romantic like me who longs to believe in the fairytale again.
This book was drafted almost three years ago, and it feels surreal to be this close to sharing Cade and Olivia with the world. I'll admit, I'm going to shed a couple tears on release day. Not for this wild accomplishment, but because Cade and Olivia won't be mine anymore. We've spent the lowest of lows and highest of highs through our querying journey together, and as much as I wished for their story to sit on bookshelves in stores, I have to believe this was the way it was always meant to be.
If you've been riding along with us for some time now, you already know the deal. And without your cheers from the sidelines, I wouldn't have managed to pick myself up after every fall. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
I shed every drop of sweat and blood into this story, revising endlessly until I felt the execution was perfect. MY idea of perfect. Every detail was intentional, and every decision I made was thought over and over until I was sure it was the right one.
To the readers who Cade and Olivia were meant to find....I have a feeling they're going to rock your world. Hold on tight!!

One night changes everything for Olivia. What should’ve been a carefree evening takes a dark turn… until a stranger steps in and saves her. They never see each other’s faces, but a single ring left behind becomes the only link between them, sparking an infatuation Olivia can’t quite let go of. Who was he? Why did he remain anonymous? And why does she feel like her heart already belongs to a man she’s never truly seen?
Months later, Olivia collides with Cade, the grumpy, magnetic new brewery owner in town. Their banter is sharp, their attraction impossible to ignore, and Olivia can’t shake the feeling there’s something more to him. Then one small detail reveals the truth: Cade is the man who saved her that night. The twist? Cade has no idea Olivia is the girl he risked himself for—only she knows.
What really made this story shine for me was the way Olivia and Cade fit together on such a soul-deep level. Cade had been made to feel like he wasn’t enough in his relationship, as if he didn’t bring enough to the table. (even though he was loyal, hardworking, and genuinely such a good man. like Jenna we all hate you just saying 😐👎🏼) That broke my heart, because he deserved so much better. Olivia saw his worth from the very beginning, and the way she made him feel valued and cherished melted me. In return, Cade gave Olivia something she desperately needed after the trauma she had faced: safety. With him, she found the strength to be braver, bolder, and stronger than she thought she could be. Their connection wasn’t just passionate, it was deeply healing.
I’ll admit there was a brief cheating element that made me uneasy at first, (gosh i hate cheating SO MUCH I ALMOST dropped a star for it) but it was short-lived, and once the story shifted, I felt so much better about where things were headed. 🤞🏼 From that point on, I was completely invested in their relationship and rooting for them all the way.
The spice in this book? Next level. 🥵 Absolutely scorching. Cade has a secret dirty side, and I was blushing while reading some of these scenes. Drea Scott doesn’t just write physical chemistry—she makes it pulse with emotion and intensity, so every moment between Cade and Olivia feels alive on the page.
By the time I reached the end, I felt completely satisfied. Even the third-act breakup (which usually isn’t my favorite at all) worked here because it added to the emotional depth and made their reunion that much sweeter. Fly Back to Me is a story of danger, fate, healing, and undeniable attraction that builds like a slow flame until it consumes everything in its path. It’s one of those stories that stays with you long after you’ve closed the book, leaving you both breathless and full-hearted.

“Our hearts beg to reconnect through bated breaths. Chests pumping in tandem as our minds drive further and further apart. Never connecting in the way we need to.”

A huge thank you to Love Notes PR and Drea Scott for allowing me to read this arc. These are all my honest opinions in this review.
This was messy. I DNF'd it and then finished it almost out of spite.
They were both SO toxic and had such terrible communication styles, which is to say they just didn't communicate and hurled insults and then had sex.
Olivia is deeply immature and showed basically no character growth throughout the book. She continues to pursue him when she KNOWS he's in a relationship (which, to be fair, he barely stops her and even kisses her while he has a girlfriend) and when he's asked her to back off. Yes, his girlfriend cheats on him, and he's the one in the relationship and not Olivia, but come on. Have some self respect friend.
Cade slut shames Olivia on more than one occasion. He doesn't change any of his relationship habits from the ex to Olivia. He's accusatory and quick to judge. And honestly? His dirty talk is cringy.
There is a smattering of fatphobia/toxic diet culture in the book. Olivia talking about how she had been so good stopping eating before 9, how she should our shouldn't eat this or that because of her weight.
This was sadly, just not it. I had high hopes from the blurb, but it was full of overly flowery prose, bad metaphors, a lot of telling and not showing, and some toxic MCs.
Thank you LoveNotesPR for giving me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was sooo messy and toxic. I always feel soo bad giving ARCs bad reviews, but this was not it. The writing was soo messy and even flowery sometimes... and it was filled with a lot of telling and not showing.
Olivia is maybe the most imature FMC I ever read and she has literally NO growth throughout the book. Cade treats Olivia sooo awful. He slut shames her numerous times, he's constantly accusatory and the dirty talk was sooo cringey! Literally wanted him to just shut the fuck up all the time😅 Don't even want to remember the toxic diet culture that it represents and the fatphobia...
This was sooo disappointing because the premise seemed sooo good.
I was chosen to ARC read Fly Back To Me for an honest review.
I was really looking forward to this, the idea of it all was very intriguing... however I feel there were some very sensitive situations and complex emotions to navigate and I feel these weren't always dealt with, with the care they deserved.
Olivia, the FMC was not likeable and I could not connect with her at all. She becomes manipulative, stalkerish, sulking and just overall bratty.
MMC- I actually really liked Cade as a character. He seemed to have good morals, a good head on his shoulders and respectful. In the end the temptation does become too much for him which some could argue felt realistic and raw but for me it felt very out of character.
The spice scenes were very off putting! They seemed to happen after a moment of coercion and manipulative behaviour. And the MMCs 'dirty talk' just felt so out of character. I couldn't connect the two together. Then after it always ended in arguments or sulking- it was all just very toxic. But then alongside all this there were talks of fate and souls connecting etc. Felt like two different stories!
This is the first bad review I’ve ever written and I’m sorry if others don’t agree this is just my opinion.
Anyways…
This book is absolutely terrible. The book starts off with Olivia getting attacked and Cade saving her. He wants to remain anonymous but Olivia becomes obsessed about her hero. She meets Cade at a coffee shop and instantly they quarrel and she hates him until she realizes he’s her hero. After finding out she spends the whole book wearing revealing clothes and FLIRTING with Cade even though he states he’s in a relationship. Even though his relationship is very toxic, Olivia doesn’t know that and continues to pursue a man who is in a relationship. She says the whole time she wants to be his “friend” while making moves and wearing outfits she knows will get his attention. She then gets pissed when Cade calls her out on her revealing clothes. With this being a “romance” book obviously Cade and Olivia get together in the end and it tries to say when two people are meant for each other the keep coming back to each other.
I wanted to DNF this book sooo bad but I hate not finishing a book. The authors note literally states she’s a hopeless romantic and loves to write books about that, but if her idea of romance is stealing someone’s partner claiming their sole mates, I think we have a completely different idea of romance. Olivia is a pick me girl and pissed me off the ENTIRE book. The smut was just cringy and overall I hated it lol
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
⋆˚࿔ i have mixed feelings about this book but let me start with the spoiler-free part. i can’t deny that i enjoyed reading it, i literally finished it in one sitting (technically while lying on my bed lol). i definitely felt the chemistry between olivia and cade. the banter, the tension, all of it. i live for that! and omg the scene at the brewery. cade really surprised me with his dirty mouth! the story was only about 200+ pages but somehow i still enjoyed it.
now for the spoiler part.
Thank you to Drea Scott & Love Note PR for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!
"Is it by accident that two people meet for the first time twice?"
I want to thank this author for the ARC of Fly Back To Me. I LOVED the concept of the story and how strangers can be fated to be in each other’s lives when least expected. And how something that begins in a bad way doesn’t mean it ends that way. It’s also about emotional healing (MFC) and seeing your worth (MMC).
MFC - Olivia 🪽 Resilient. Sassy. Confident. A little unhinged.
MC - Cade 🏍️ Rescuer. Grumpy. Conflicted. Romantic.
Overall Thoughts: Okay so overall I really liked the storyline! And the beauty of finding someone over and over even by accident. That somehow fate interjects into your life out of nowhere. I loved Olivia’s sassy attitude and the genuine personality of Cade. The scenes were easy to picture and the personality of our two mains and the side characters were strong. Author made great world building in my brain!
I took off stars for I felt the story started really strong then got kinda crazy on Olivia’s part. I loved her but it also felt unhealthy, girl needed to listen to her bestie more. She became super clingy which I understand some because of her trauma but at the same time it was overwhelming at times how she acted. Especially after he said he had a girlfriend. Kind of gave me the ick. Even if the gf was super shitty. lol Cade needed to sort his stuff out slightly earlier than he did in my opinion.
I felt though I guess it’s technically a slow burn it also felt insta love for both of them once they were together. It reminded me of the notebook’s toxic characters, with the snippy fights and attitude to being obsessed with each other.
But I did love all the romantic quotes and metaphors though! And the coffee shop board!! ❤️ Some really beautiful lines were written through out the story! I definitely say give this book a shot!
This was a messy and at times chaotic story, but raw and real.
Cade and Olivia were meant to be and every interaction, hidden message and universal sign, was so powerful and memorable both of them couldn’t forget the other.
I loved how Olivia fought for what she wanted, she was relentless and even if it got too out of hand for my taste, she was unapologetic and bold. Her trauma was 100% valid and she needed some time to recover and heal, so I’m glad the people around her gave her that and that Cade was the best thing she could ever get out of it.
And Cade, him and his filthy mouth were done for after meeting Olivia for the first AND second time. His situation was complicated and toxic, but finding her gave him a renewed sense of self and he found the will and courage to find what was truly best for him.
I wanted more epilogue and a deeper insight into their future, but this was the perfect length.
Some of the things that made me not give it a full five start rating:
The writing was so heavy. This was 137 pages and I’m a fast reader, I should have read that amount of pages in less than 2 hours. But it took me almost 4. It was charged with metaphors, repetition and adjectives and flowery prose all over. And it was not needed. Also, Olivia pursuing the guy was fine and all, even when she found out “that” about him, but it dragged on and on and it turned a little pathetic, she never allowed space for him to pursue her. And lastly, some of the comments/attitudes/fights Olivia and Cade had were pointless and simply not needed. How did they go from accepting and understanding to full on screaming about that “solved” topic?
Overall the story was very interesting and different from what I’ve read.
were they both toxic? yes! did i enjoy this book? also yes!
this book is a story all about second chances and things being meant to be. i definitely believe everything happens for a reason and this book solidifies that.
olivia and cades story is beautifully tragic, were they both toxic? like absolutely yes but sometimes there’s nothing wrong with that 😂 at the end of the day olivia is just a girl going after what she wants 🤷🏽♀️
omgomgomg i loved this book soooooo much, the pacing was SOO good and the plot???? UGHHHH im so obsessed with this book, and i love the tension between them it was to die for 😫😫
‧₊˚ ┊💌┊ ೀ୭ 𝐩𝐫𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝
this cover ????? holy shittttt. i’m obsessed with that it’s actually so stunning (and lowkey smutty BUTTTTT that makes it even better)
Thank you LoveNotes PR for allowing for me to read and review this beautiful story!!!
Do you believe in soulmates? Fate? The power of the universe? Because Olivia and Cade definitely do. Their story felt like it was meant to be, from their first meeting to the way life brought them back together again for the second time.
This book had me hooked! It was emotional, spicy 😏.
Cade is a motorcycle rider/brewery owner, who was absolutely perfect, you really can only write men like him. Olivia was unhinged in the best way possible she was a woman who knew what she wanted and she wanted cade no matter what she had to do (light stalking? 👀)
The banter was great. The mouth on Cade both with his words and in the bedroom were top notch 🥵🥵
My only fault was the miscommunication trope it's not my favourite I usually despise it but it was done well all things considered.
Did I read this, yes...Did I like it...Only some parts if i'm being honest...and this is my review so im ofc being honest 😊. My normal books are dark and full of unhinged stalkers with a pension for un aliving ppl who deserve it [sometimes those that dont 🤷♀️] so I thought the level of toxic in this book would be ok. Spoiler alert, it wasnt for me. The amount of toxicity between the two MC's just hit like a lead weight, and was amplified by their childish behavior. Olivia is obsessed, and a again normally thats my thing, but this obsession form her in partnership with the cheating aspect really gave me the ick and therefore I 100% could not connect with her.
Cade really wasnt much better honestly. I do not want to hear that bc his gf at the time deserved it, that cheating is ok...You do you, but to me thats a red flag and a no go 🙅♀️ and to top it all off, the spice scenes had me skipping them. Ive read some bad spice obviously in my life, but if the scenes make me cringe im out....Cade should just be silent cause the dirty talk missed the mark by a mile.
These are my thoughts and feelings, but I always welcome others to still read books that I dont vibe with because I love to hear the perspective of others as they read these scenes. If you've read this and love it, leave a comment and lets discuss!!
Tropes: Grumpy x Sunshine She Chases Him He Falls Harder Fated Lovers Motorcycle Rider Nightingale Effect Small Town
The cover and premise instantly pulled me in, and once I started, I couldn’t stop reading. There’s this something—maybe the banter, the tension, the plot, the spice, or his filthy mouth—that kept me completely hooked. I devoured this one!
Even though I didn’t fully connect with the main characters, the story still worked for me. I loved the tension, the push and pull, and the ending wrapped everything up beautifully. I could’ve done without what happened in the last fourth of the book, but overall it was a solid, emotional read.
If you like sliding doors vibes, what-ifs, a determined FMC, and fated love, this story is definitely worth picking up.
⭐️ 3.5 | 🌶️ 3 Thank you to Luna Literary Management and Love Notes PR for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
Wow! I didn’t know I was gonna like this book this much!!! 😭💕
“Is it by accident that two people meet for the first time twice?”
That question has an answer and it’s fucking perfect!!! Cade what a beautiful, perfect man you are! And SO HOT ❤️🔥 the things this man said to Olivia OMG! 😮💨 And Olivia my baby she’s so in love that gets blinded by it, but at the same time I understand her! Their relationship is so strong and truly fated! I love it! I enjoy this read so much! It really makes you believe in fated love, you know! Please give this book a chance I swear is so worth it! The spice is just 🙂↔️ too good! And it’s also beautiful !
There were moments in Olivia and Cade’s story that were super cute and sweet! Unfortunately, those moments were bulldozed by both of their personal immaturity and toxic communication styles. They’d be having sex one moment and then fighting the next over miscommunications and judgments. Other times things would be going great then all of a sudden they were fighting again over god knows what. I found both characters to be very unlikable and Cade gave off major ‘f’boy vibes. Cade slut shamed Olivia on more than one occasion and seemed to coerce her into doing things she wasn’t ready for during the spicy scenes. Olivia kept pursuing Cade even when he had a girlfriend and a few times she said things that aligned with toxic diet culture. I don’t understand how they were so in love as they didn’t take any time to get to know each other and were constantly fighting. Their initial meeting and the symbolism of that meeting was the driving force between the two of them, which lead to their connection. This made it feel as though there were two versions of each character and two love stories happening at the same time.
If you love a little toxic in your romance this is for you. Unfortunately there were too many red flags for me to truly enjoy this book.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was fairly enjoyable! I finished this in a few sessions.
But sadly I’m leaving this book with some mixed feelings. I have to say that I am not entirely fond of Olivia’s behavior prior to being in a relationship with Cade.
*(minor) spoilers ahead!!!*
I wholeheartedly understand her desire to reveal her secret savior’s identity. HOWEVER, her behavior was borderline stalker-ish. She knew about him being in a long term relationship and still went all out and tried pursuing him multiple times. Yes, Cade’s girlfriend cheated. But neither Olivia nor Cade knew of that at this point and both seemed to entertain the idea of one another. Yeah, I don’t know about that…
*end spoilers*
That being said, I won’t deny that the majority of this book was well-written and I found myself being encapsulated by their story. If you like bikers who are running bars/ cafés, this one’s for you.
Thank you to Love Notes and Drea Scott for providing me with an arc!
I got to be an ARC reader for this book, which I was super stoked about! Thank you for picking me :) I saw the book advertised and liked the premise.
I don't think I have ever read a book with more uses of cheesy cliche metaphors than this. Like seriously no one and I mean NO ONE speaks to another person the way these two did.
These two were extremely codependent and it was unhealthy, like I understand he helped her and all but she stalked him and then were glued at the hip.
Olivia was kinda nuts and Cade was just kind of a jerk, Cade was rude to Olivia on more than one occasion and she made a lot of excuses for his behaviour and her own behaviour towards him as well.
I think my number one biggest issue with this book was when Cade finds out Olivia is who she is they have a massive argument and then have sex...outside. His "dirty" talk was painful and they never touch on the issue again. It was really gross and off putting. They really loved to not communicate like actual adults.
It honestly gave off like Wattpad vibes at times, the writing I found to be weirdly descriptive and used strange analogies.
Also I think Olivia spent literally half the book "biting her lower lip." Like I think she did it every chapter.
I liked the overall idea of the book, the mystery hero kinda deal, I just think it could have been executed better because I was fighting for my life to finish this book.
I was selected as an ARC reader for this novel and it did not disappoint.
“For the young girl in us who always dreamed of being swept away by Prince Charming on his white horse. And the woman now who wants him on a Harley.”
From the dedication in the beginning of this book, I knew I was a goner.
This story follows Olivia, who is cornered in an alleyway by a bad man, and Cade who rescues her from her attacker.
They have an immediate connection, but Cade tells the officers he wants to remain anonymous. So Olivia has no idea who her savior is.
Cade is a biker who is opening up his own brewery. These two factors were also so enticing to me. As someone who loves craft beer, and sours, I love all the details that went into painting his brewery. From the descriptions of the bar to the descriptions of the beer, I could practically taste the flavors.
This does portray cheating. Olivia keeps pursuing Cade even tho he has a girlfriend. But once they finally hook up, the spice is a 5🌶️.
Very spicy, very hot. Cade is a very verbal Dom and I was a fan.
This books ends in a HEA with the promise of a proposal in the future, and we couldn’t have asked for a better ending.
I loved this book and will be purchasing a physical copy once they become available. I recommend this to anyone else interested in bikers, grumpy x sunshine, and spice.
I will be reading more books by Drea Scott in the future! Thank you so much for choosing me to ARC read!💕
Fly Back to me, oh wow! Cade, a hero with a Harley. Olivia with her sassy mouth. Their souls were brought together one scary night. He wanted to stay anonymous; she is on a mission to find him, her hero. Is it possible for two people to meet for the first time? This book was so touching and fun to read. I am so glad I was picked to ARC.
If you love a second change romance this is for you! It’s such a cute romance with extra extraspice. Do you believe in fate? Do you believe in meeting twice for the first time? Then this is the book for you. Cade and Olivia meet twice for the first time. The first time is when Cade saves Olivia from an attack in a darkened alley where she holds onto his hand for dear life. Eventually they meet again but under very different circumstances and she believes him to be a jerk. She’s so mad at this guy for ruining her morning coffee run that she decides to go out and blow off some steam at a new brewery in town with her bestie. Where Olivia sees him and points him out to her friend. At first Olivia pursuing Cade came off really strong and sorta stalkerish. I get that she wanted to find her rescuer and thank them. I agree with her friend in the book on this. Cade stole my heart after his first chapter in his POV. He gives off that bad boy vibe that has a good heart deep down. He’s protective, loyal, kind, considerate, and a brewery owner. The spice is spicy! There’s quite a bit of it. It’s loud, it’s feral, it’s hot 🥵.
I really enjoyed this arc . It was a bit of a slow burn and that’s my favorite genre haha
Olivia is in a parking lot at a bar when a man pulls her behind a trash bin to assault her. In walks a mystery man who rescues her from the situation. Olivia wakes up in the hospital and wants to know who helped her, but the police say he wants to remain anonymous.
Before Olivia leaves the hospital, the nurse hands are a bag of her belongings and in that bag is a ring that looks like wings. It’s not hers, but she knows it belongs to her rescuer so she hangs onto it.
Olivia cannot get over the fact that she doesn’t know who helped her out so she sends a note with the detective and returns the ring. Will she ever find out who this mysterious man was and will they ever meet again?
Let me start off with warning you that my review has spoilers. Please do not proceed reading if you haven't read the book or don't want things spoiled for you when reading. Repeat, do NOT read if you don't want spoilers. You were warned.
Ok, now we can begin...
I really anticipated this book. The cover was beautiful and gave me all the feels. When I dove in, the first 100 pages were... excruciating. I had thoughts. So, so many thoughts.
Let's start with the good. Drea does write her spicy scenes well, and the book had the perfect amount of it. I also loved the idea of the story. Loved the whole idea that they were destined to meet, their lives intertwined, and left never the same after their first encounter. But that's just it: the IDEA of the story, what was given in the synopsis - was a beautiful notion. Chef's kiss. But the author did not deliver that, and this book was a big miss (and mess) for me.
Ok, the cons really outweighed any of the good. Where do we start?
1.) Cheating is not a trigger for me, but even with all the cheating in here irked me. So, Cade's current gf in the book is cheating on him. Cheating is wrong on all levels - a million times correct. But then Cade cheats (regardless of emotional or physical) he goes and does it right back to her with Olivia, our female main character, but calls himself honest to a fault. Yeeeea, ok, no. If you find a woman flirting with you and you flirt right back, you find yourself emotionally attaching yourself to her, you meet her for coffee and take her out on your bike before breaking up with your current gf (regardless of her cheating), dude you are just as bad as she is. Sorry, I didn't feel one bit bad for Cade getting cheated on. Olivia is the other woman, the homewrecker, what she describes herself as NOT being. I understand, the home was "wrecked" due to Jenna's cheating, but Cade was clearly with her still and trying to work it out, even knowing what Jenna was doing, and had yet to confront her. He made the decision to let his cheating go on and on before confronting Jenna about her infidelity. Olivia kept saying she felt this connection and was in love with Cade, though she knew she could only be his friend, YET continued to flirt and lure him into engaging with her continuously and cheating (like I said, whether physical or emotional- doesn't matter, Olivia is the other woman). She was just as bad. It's hard to like the main characters/main couple, when they are just as sh*tty as Cade's cheating girlfriend. This is the main reason why I didn't like the book, I hated the main couple. Second chance romance, I can get behind if they are building a relationship after one cheated and are whole heartedly trying to redeem themselves. But BOTH? Making it seem like what they did was ok??? Yea, nah.
2.) YES, we get it! She has dang curtain bangs. We don't need to describe her bangs in every chapter.
3.) The mind games Olivia plays with Cade? Are so immature and high school drama like, at best. Every time child Olivia threw a tantrum, I rolled my eyes and grit my teeth to prepare myself to get through that part. Angst should not be mistaken for these immature mind game bs tirades Olivia pulls and makes Cade suffer through. Adults shouldn't act this way, healthy relationship shouldn't start that way. But I mean... we started with cheating on top of cheating, so what does it matter at this point?
4.) The whole story could've been described/explained better. Yes, Olivia was attacked, but the book makes her go through her PTSD barely, after what was supposed to be a traumatic shake-up in her life. And the trauma itself was just brushed over. For her to have this transference/trauma bonding/obsession (which to me, this book is ABSOLUTELY what Olivia is feeling for Cade, not romantic) mistaken as "love" and the trauma that caused it to be brushed over so loosley. It just wasn't developed with the respect it deserved. Cade kept mentioning how Olivia saved him when they got together, I'm sorry, how?
5.) This is not a love story. It's built on an unhealthy obsession, that wasn't explored, in which Olivia gets help to sort her trauma and feelings so that us as the reader could maybe believe that Olivia was healthy enough to actually differentiate actually falling in love with Cade and what transference/trauma bonding is- that with a LOT of stupid Olivia mind games sprinkled in the mix. I did not get the romance at all. Just obsession on Olivia's part, with stalker-like tendencies. If the author wanted to go the romance route, there were so many other ways to have written this book. This was concerning and unhealthy the way Olivia was portrayed. And to make it like it was love? Definitely, not believable. More trauma healing, less Olivia immature mind games, please and thank you.The author really missed on this one...
This was the first time I ever preordered a Kindle book (I did it for the book art, I haven't received it yet), but it was a swing and a miss for me. This book left me unsettled and really angry that the author thinks trauma bonding/transference is healthy and to have Olivia lash out/act out in lieu of receiving any sort of mental health help/support/therapy whatsoever for what she went through was the road to take. Olivia continously brushed off her friend Lauren's advice like a true petulant immature child and not learn her mistakes and how to healthily cope. IF Drea had woven that into the story, perhaps then this story MIGHT have been more believable. Maybe.

"Because when I look at you, I see everything I want." ~Cade
Did you read that quote? It's nice, right. Romantic and emotional. I wanted more of that. Something meaningful and touching. I really thought the blurb, even the book cover ((which is cool)), would be the gateway to a book that held those elements. Unfortunately, that quote above, the idea, the potential, it went to a place that was anything but. 🚩🚩The TWs are misleading. There's cheating involved, plain and simple with the MCs. Mental health disorders are running rampant and they're not being addressed. Degradation. Attempted sa. Stalking. Obsession. Toxicity. OTT acts. I could go on. Just know that these tropes and situations, among many other things, are here.🚩🚩
This was a weird and frustrating story. I stopped reading it so many times. What the heck kind of story was this? It's not romantic. Not in this context. It's so long and tedious. Too much of certain things and not enough of others. It got stuck in it's own timeline. The characters never developed emotionally. They wallowed in a crisis of their own making. It starts off well enough, a man helps out a woman in a very scary situation, at night, in a back alley of a bar. Something any person ((hopefully)) would do for another person that was in trouble. 26yr old Olivia Savage was saved. The guy who stepped in wanted to remain anonymous. It was dark, they never saw each other, not even when the cops showed up. But Olivia, who ended up with his ring of wings in the scuffle, wouldn't let it go. Oh noo. Not her. She held onto his ring, which suddenly became a symbol of power and hero worship. She dwelled on him constantly. Her mind became erratic, wanting him, under the guise of being thankful of course. He saved her. Her. Olivia put her white knight on a high high pedestal. She was suffering from PTSD but it was only touched on slightly. Did she get help for what she went through or this now melt down obsession? Nope. This was normal. No. It isn't. Lauren, her best friend, was smart, she knew what was happening, but to keep the peace with her out of control delulu friend, she let Olivia do what she wanted. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink. I liked Lauren but she didn't deserve to be bullied by Olivia or to be talked to that way. And why keep Lauren around only when Olivia was in need of her when it didn't work with her love Cade project?
That ring kept Olivia safe. That was repeated over and over.🙄 Like many other sentences and weird and wacky metaphors. Humping.🫢 Really. Olivia became obsessed with wanting to find him, meet him, talk to him, have this destiny meant to be with a stranger who had protected her. Her delusional state kept growing. The letter she gave to the cop to give to her anonymous savior, her angel, was a tell tale sign, along with his ring. 'I need you.' Whaaat! Girlll you need help. Don't worry she made a copy of that ring.😱 A copy!!! And when Olivia didn't get her way she became a mean bratty girl. I didn't like her at all. She was twisted and awful. She was rude, a manipulator, a liar, obnoxious, felt entitled, fixated, had a big mouth, and pushed her way into a man's life b/c it was written in the stars.😬😖😒 Did they find each other? Yes. But even then Olivia lied about who she was, she wanted to be chosen, she stalked him, watched him, dressed provocatively, sent ice cream mouth pictures to him. Ughhh!🤢 Stop! Just. Stop.🙅🏼♀️🙅🏼♀️🙅🏼♀️🙅🏼♀️🙅🏼♀️ She was forcing herself into his life, to make him want her, desire her. It was toxic, codependent, all kinds of sweaty desperation! Even when she found out that Cade was already with someone else, she didn't back off. She didn't want to be treated as a 'side piece' or a 'floozy', a 'w#ore' and yet what was she doing and how was she acting.☠️🙊😵 A desperate chaser. Have some self-respect. Stockholm syndrome? Uh. No Olivia. That's not what this is. Look it up. Nightingale. But then again, not really.🤷
Cade Owens, 29, bar owner. In the beginning of the book, I liked him. He appeared nice, thoughtful, a guy who wouldn't be played with. He was direct and called his girlfriend out, even Olivia. Which I appreciated.😂😂 It was short-lived. He pushed Olivia away ((at first)) but Olivia didn't care. *Spoiler:* Cade's girlfriend was cheating. It was plain as day. But despite this happening, Olivia, who obviously made herself readily available, started to burrow her way into making Cade feel like he was worthy and a man who deserved much better. Like for instance... her.🤣 *Spoiler again.* It did lead to a slight kiss and a nasty act in his office. Duuude. That's still cheating. You're still with your girlfriend. Yes, she's cheating on you but 2 wrongs DO NOT make a right.🤦 I don't care how hot and bothered you are. Step. Away. Have some decency. He became a completely different person in the second half. What happened to him? The dirty talk. Eww. The anger. The degradation. Nah dude. You're just as dirty as Olivia. Expect muddy rough yard s*x during a rainstorm.🫨 No mature talking. No respect. No healthy boundaries or a true well built connection. Just whatever this was supposed to be.🫤
If you want to read this book, you should. I hope you like it. Good luck. I... unfortunately didn't like it. Cheating and all the other glaring issues didn't work for me. Ms Scott had an idea but it tackled huge issues that got exasperated instead of healing them and recognizing them for what they truly are. Look at the red flags. Face them and yourself.🪞👩🏻⚕️ The epilogue was too little too late. Happy reading. *•>§<•*❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹
🐍🌪️Thank you to Ms Scott and Love Notes PR. The opinions shared here are my own.🌪️🐍
#Review: *Fly Back To Me* - Drea Scott - ARC [18+] 4.4/5✨ 3.5/5🌶️
I've waited for such a long time for this book to be released!😍 I've been a huge fan of Drea since I read another book by her, called 'Hunt For The Roses', which was incredible! I must thank the Drea, Love Notes Pr and Literally Yours for accepting me for a e-copy of this book.
Olivia and Cade had a pretty different first meet, because of the strange context. When Olivia was attacked by a creepy man, Cade was there to save her and to offer her comfort, but they never saw each other's face or knew anything else about one another. So, they didn't have any way of getting in touch after that horrible night. But Olivia was deeply affected by this mysterious man and did everything in her powers to find out who he was and get to know him. Only that part will come with another surprise, one which will often make them wonder if it was a coincidence that two strangers were predestined to meet twice.
The pursuing which Olivia started was so captivating, feeling that angst which resided in her soul, which was left after the event she was part of. She wanted so bad to be able to connect with her saviour, so made that her goal. That wasn't an easy job and when she made it possible, her heart was broken one again, by learning some things about Cade. But Olivia didn't want to give up that easily and that lead to such an intense and raw connection, which was so hard to stay away from. That made me understand some things that happened between them and why the author chose to depict some scenes in the way she did. It was impossible to ignore the tension and so hard to not give into that incredible magnetic pull they had for each other. Yeah, there were a couple of scenes I didn't quite understand, but I won't judge the whole book by them.
This story is perfect for those readers who believe in soulmates and in a love which was so strong that went pass any border or any obstacle which came in the way. Be prepared for some really steamy scenes, some which probably will make you blush but also understand that raw pull between Olivia and Cade.
—— 4 ★ ⤿〝 Just as much as Olivia has left a mark on the outside, she’s left a permanent one on the inside. Olivia is my forever. 〞
! Thank you Love Notes PR and Drea Scott for the copy and the opportunity to read the arc of this book !
⤷ And when I started reading it I was a little afraid of what I was going to find but it is a beautiful book, if you are a dreamy romantic this book is perfect. I have loved every moment and I have been obsessed with him 🙂↕️🙂↕️ Cade and Olivia have earned a special place in me. Although It is true that some things that I would have liked to be explained better or in some moments the emotions were not so strong but that is already for tastes. Of all this story is very beautiful and easy to read so it makes it a great read
⤷ characters.ᐟ
⋆˙⟡ Olivia Sawyer She is a dreamy romantic and even though I really liked her character I have to admit that she has talked about moments when I did not understand very well what she wanted and made me shake my head, but I liked how she has expressed certain topics such as her insecurities and despite the end she deserved something better (I don't mean Cade, but what happened to her iykyk)☹️☹️🫶🏻🫶🏻
❝ Falling in love with Cade was reckless. Lightning speed as I dove headfirst with every impulsive action. It was thrilling. Madness. ❞
⋆˙⟡ Cade Owens A total book boyfriend if you ask me 🤭🤭 he is so understanding and so standard that oh myy, I love him. Besides, he didn't deserve anything that happened with Jenna. I don't care what you tell me but whether you want it or not, he’s a lover boy like he was made to be loved and love. 🙂↕️🙂↕️ Plus his character can be so related.
❝ I’m so fucking gone for you, Olivia Sawyer. So in love with you, it doesn’t even seem like it’s enough to tell you that. But it’s the truth. ❞
I was thrilled to receive an ARC of Fly Back to Me. I love a romantic story featuring a super hot biker, so I was excited to dive in!
This was a slow-burn romance with a compelling storyline. It follows Olivia, a woman who is assaulted in an alleyway. She’s rescued by a handsome passerby named Cade, who just happened to hear a noise behind a dumpster and came to investigate. During the rescue, neither character sees the other’s face, and Cade decides to remain anonymous so no one knows who came to her rescue.
Cade is incredibly attractive. He’s sweet, loyal, and faithful in his current relationship, but they’re having problems. He’s giving his girlfriend, Jenna, way too many chances, even though she clearly doesn’t seem interested in him anymore.
Olivia can be a bit annoying at times. She’s clingy and stalkerish, but not in a sexy way—in an irritating and pushy way. She claims she’s not a home wrecker, but she continues to pursue Cade even after she finds out he has a girlfriend. I didn’t feel there was much chemistry between the two main characters until about the last quarter of the book.
This book had me frustrated at times. The characters were constantly changing their minds, not knowing what they truly wanted. One minute, you think they’re over the moon for each other, finally giving in to their feelings, and then their conversation takes a turn, and they’re back to second-guessing everything again. I found at times that the banter didn’t make sense—I had to go back and reread a paragraph or page because I thought I missed something, but I didn’t. There were also some gaps in the story where I found myself thinking, “Where did THAT come from?”
Despite these flaws, this was a sweet story, and I loved when the characters finally came together. I enjoyed the plot and the ending, so I’m giving it 3 stars.
Favourite quotes:
“You want to fuck a motorcycle rider? Squeeze and clutch, baby.”
“You gave me the extraordinary when all I knew was the ordinary.”
“Out of eight billion people, I don’t just get to hold my person in my arms. I get to hold my destiny.”
“We were brought together by something hideous, but somehow, we were able to blossom from it.”
Oh my goodness this book!! I was so enthralled with this story the whole way through! I devoured it within a day!! Olivia's strength and determination to continue living and seeing the opportunities as they presented themselves was so incredible to watch! The way that she allowed herself to heal as she was ready, while helping to remind Cade of his worth and value was just so beautiful! And speaking of Cade.... This man was so incredible to watch as he fought and pushed himself to achieve his dreams while finding his own inner strength to accept the love and life that he deserved! The way that he was so protective of Olivia, while also being so truly good to her, was just so amazing to see! Seeing the journey these two went through was so heart-wrenching to watch! Overall this book was so good, and I just couldn't stop reading it!! I've absolutely fallen in love with Drea Scott!! 4.5 stars; 4 chili peppers
'Is it by accident two people meet for the first time twice?'
Thank you to Luna Literary for an ARC of Fly Back To Me.
Well this was refreshing!!! I haven't read a romance like this before and I have to say I really enjoyed it. It was also so nice to see Olivia, our FMC chase the MMC for a change. Cade ticked everything you want in a MMC; Broody, Tattooed and a Biker. There were also multiple storylines, Cade & Olivia's, then Cade & Jenna, Olivia dealing with her aftermath of her attack. I really enjoyed reading about all that was happening in the characters lives. I loved Olivia's sense of humour. I was desperate for them to get together, and the TENSION. I was ready to throw my kindle. Cade was so thoughtful, when he gifted her the notepad and the book on how to publish your first book. I can't cope!! I really enjoyed the way the characters met, and this really made for an intriguing start. I was on pins waiting for Cade to find out the connection. To summarise: I loved this book and absolutely would recommend to everyone.
