I am giving this book a good score because I am an incurable Colquhounophile, and because it is a veritable treasure trove of observations pertaining to a wide range of esoteric subjects... However, it is also one of the most badly edited books I have read in quite some time! Almost every single page contained a typo or an omission (e.g. incomplete sentences), and the layout was at times quite baffling (a blank page in the middle of a text, for instance, without any rhyme or reason). The entire book gave the impression of being put together in a hurry... but why the rush? I sincerely hope that a new edition is forthcoming, as Ithell deserves better than this.
A decent effort by Nichols to harvest and save some of the writings of Colquhoun. I am always grateful when such writings are entered into print for posterity. A better layout could have been generated for the material, and Nichols finishes some entries on his own...he is honest about it, but still it's odd and skippable.
