That’s what Leo Truman heard when he settled into his mountainside hideaway, running from the shadows of his mind. Not that he believed an angel would ever dare enter his dark world.
That is until the day Hanna Delaney, with her gypsy heart and joyful nature, knocks at his door. Although she believes she has not yet discovered her place in this vast and unpredictable world, something has drawn her to this town, this mountain, this house.
A proposition is offered, and a deal is made.
As walls begin to crumble, can Leo and Hanna trust each other and survive the whirlwind about to rock their lives?
Jewelz Baxter lives with her husband in Louisiana near their children and grandchildren. She values her family and loves supporting their grandchildren's sports and hobbies.
Over the years Jewelz filled notebook after notebook with stories in her spare time. With her husband's encouragement, she shared those stories and received positive responses from others; prompting her to follow her dream and take the plunge of publishing.
When not writing or spending time with family she can be found on a Harley exploring the backroads with her husband. Jewelz has her own bike but confirms there is nothing like being on the back seat wrapped around her man.
This short and sweet book tackles something that does not get talked about enough. Hanna Delaney stopped in Sunridge Valley on a journey to find a home. Hanna with her adorable Pomeranian, Tasha, did not know what this little town had in store for her. Upon coming to the general store, Hanna met a nice man that offered her a vacant house to live in. Considering she was currently living in her car, this was a huge step up. The house needed a lot of work. Though there was a huge backyard, Tasha still found a way to visit their neighbor frequently.
Leo Truman is slowly making his way back into the world with the help of fellow veterans. The last thing he wants in his life is a dog, but he cannot resist Tasha. When he finally meets Hanna everything falls into place. Once he sees where she is living, he offers for her to be his housekeeper and live in his house. Will Leo finally drop down the walls guarding his heart and let someone in? After Tasha started cracking his rough exterior, it was only a matter of time before Hanna slipped through. This book deals with PTSD and the support pets can provide to veterans. This is first book I have read from this author. I was not disappointed.
Chasing Angels is Leo Truman and Hanna Delaneys story. It's a beautiful, intense story about healing and overcoming when the right people is placed in your path. Leo struggles with PTSD and as much as his fellow Veterans help him through his struggles, it's the girl in town and her nosy little dog that truly shows him how to live. I love this short, fast-paced story and gets you all in your feels. Definitely recommend it!
What a great feel good read. Hannah was a bit of a gypsy, going whenever, whenever she chooses, until she landed in a small town. Leo was just costing thru life, trying to take it day by day. It seemed these two had a purpose for meeting, maybe it was the older nice man in the store offering Hannah a place to stay, maybe it was fate. Although Leo was a bit of a grouch, especially to new ppl, these two seemed to have hit it off immediately. Great short story to read before bed.
Leo and Hanna's story is an emotional, heartfelt read. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this and just loved how it all unfolded and came together. The storyline was done well. The characters were lovable and they were what each needed at that moment in life. This author really has a way of writing that draws you in. From that first page I was captivated by this book. It is a lovely read and I highly recommend reading.
