The intention of this book is to help you create a plan to use sport for evangelism and discipleship. It is our desire that you will have this book as a resource to be a part of raising up an army of athletes and coaches that equip future and current fathers, mothers, employers, and employees to expand the Kingdom of God using the platform of sports.
Our goal is for you
HAVE A PLAN, MAKE IT A GOOD PLAN, AND EXECUTE THE PLAN.
“Competing biblically connects us to God, and we need that connection all the time in this upside-down world, just as a deep-sea diver needs the connection of an air hose. Tim Kuykendall, along with his mentor, coach Scotty Kessler, will help you make that breath-of-life connection through the pages of this book.”
– Wes Neal, Author of The Handbook on Athletic Perfection
“Tim offers here the complete and unequivocal handbook to competing biblically! I’m going to give copies to all the athletes I know!”
– Jefferson Bethke, New York Times Bestselling Author of Jesus > Religion and It’s Not What You Think
Tim Kuykendall has coached for 30-plus years, from youth sports to Division I collegiate level. As a collegiate baseball player, Tim was selected as one of the Top 50 players in Washington State University Baseball’s History. After coaching at his alma mater, WSU, he embarked on a successful 23-year high school baseball coaching career and 15 years as a chaplain for the Tacoma Rainiers (AAA affiliate of the Seattle Mariners). In 2023, he was inducted into the Washington State Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame. Tim holds a M.Ed. in Athletic Administration and is currently Director of Coaches Development with Vertical Sports Maui.
