The pacing in this book was strong and way better than the previous one. There was a lot of sunshine and rainbows for a bit, which of course, we knew definitely wasn’t going to last.
We get some more brutality in here as the war for Tempest continues, which is honestly not surprising or as intense as it had been in previous books.
We still have the villains we love to hate, and boy do we ever hate them. Absolute scum those two.
I am so here for Ryker and Ellory and their love, it is so pure and wholesome. You can feel how much they care for each other, protect each other and help centre each other. Whenever they are struggling, the other picks up on it and helps to pick them back up and feel better. The classic nothing is stronger than true love is definitely in play here but it’s not done in a cheesy way.
Tucker is still absolute perfection, Callan is great, and of course, Scarlet is always a cherry on the sundae throughout the book.
There’s a good mix of comic relief and heartwarming moments to offset the more violent ones.

So much happening in and around the revenant woods, Ellory has everything under control.. maybe but hey she has strong support and she has the best partner in Ryker even during times when he is not right by her side he is still her strength.

A Tempest of Monsters delivers nonstop action and intensity from beginning to end. The pacing never really lets up, with high stakes, brutal confrontations, and moments that keep you completely spellbound. Every chapter seems to raise the tension just a little higher, making it hard to put down.

Following the absolute mayhem of the last book in this amazing series, Ellery, Ryker and their merry band of rebels have been forced further into hiding but refuse to completely abandon their brethren. In order to stick it to Ryker’s father, the reigning aristocratic jerk, they plan another ambush and robbery, but things don’t go as expected. Despite all of the obstacles, they continue to encourage all Amsirah to cling to hope that they can be victorious and regain freedom and peace in the realm. Hands are forced and some things come to light that may be better off still hidden in the shadows. How far does one go to protect themselves and their loved ones without losing a piece of themselves or becoming a monster as a consequence? Never a dull moment as Brenda sends you through an awesome journey full of twists and turns, as well as some comedic moments that lighten the mood, always keeping you guessing and wanting to know what’s going to happen next…

How does one recover from this book and wait for book 7? Brenda K Davies what have you done to me? I have been with you from the beginning and each time I say the stories just keep getting better. You write like no other. Your world building is incredible. So here we are back at Tempest with everything going to hell. The survival of Ellery, Ryker and crew is paramount to tilt the scales and right tempest. What could possible go wrong? So many twists and turns guiding us in a direction we never see coming but know is lingering right around a tree. And Farley! Who doesn’t love this poltergeist. The battle for Tempest grows and the Duke has got one too many tricks up his sleeve. Jeez this was one heck of a rollercoaster ride that has left me dangling in the air. Wait until 2026 for book 7. I’m not sure I’m going to be patient. 😂 Love this world and characters.

I loved this trip into Tempest. While it wasn't the smuttiest in the series, the high stakes action kept me on the edge of my seat. You should have heard me swear at the end of the book. While I know they are all destined to end with a cliff-hanger, I still end up too involved to notice how close I am to the end. Ellery and Ryker fighting for the same cause but separate from one another was different from the other books. Previously we were able to see the same story from different POV, where this book left us with only one side of the story and they weren't able to be a check and balance for one another. Showing us how much growth each has gone through.

This series just gets better and better! A definite must read that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The band of Robin Hooders are trying to fight the horrendous Duke and aristocrats for their beloved Tempest anyway they can. And now even the poltergeist are helping and enjoying every minute. This book in the series is an emotional one which makes you feel right along with the characters. Brenda's writing takes you right into each book and it becomes a real page turner that's hard to put down. A definite must read series!!

Ellery shows her strength and determination to save and protect the ones she loves. Hopefully, her decisions won’t come back and destroy what her, Ryker and the others are working so hard to preserve. Take flight and sit back and enjoy the ride A Tempest of Monsters takes you on. Well, thanks Brenda, I now want a gargoyle. My very own gargoyle. 😊 But, on to my review. I think this was my favorite in all the books so far. The action, constantly saying oh my goodness, covering my eyes. In a good way. Ellery is still a badass. I love her spunk and her love for Ryker and most especially her love of family. Only part is I have to wait, oh noooo, for the last book to see how it ends. Rykers father, will he get what he deserves????? Crossing my fingers. I highly recommend this!!!

The 6th book of the Tempest of Shadows Series is filled with excitement and adventure from the very first page.
It is fantastic to see Ellery's character growth.
I am really happy that the poltergeists get to have some "fun" as well... But that's probably just my little "psycho" side grinning with glee 😁

Another incredible chapter in the Tempest series! Brenda never disappoints and this book is no exception. The rebels are in more danger than ever and the nobles are becoming bolder and bolder. And the monsters noted in the title are just as crazy as you’re used to seeing from Brenda and her wild imagination. I swear I say this every time but I don’t know how they’re going to get out of this latest pickle they’re in. I can’t wait for the next book!

Can you say roller coaster ride?!?! This one is full of surprises! There is so much to take in with this book that it is hard to write this review without giving anything away. Brenda had me turning pages faster than I ever have before to see what is going to happen. There is a war coming and I can’t wait to see what Ellery and Ryker do next. Things that happen is this series is as much heartbreaking as it is heart stopping! Tempest will never be the same again.

Moving forward
It kept me spinning & anxious throughout the book. I couldn't put it down. I can't wait to start on the last book. At times, when I became so stressed while reading, I would have to stop, walk a bit & take in a few deep breaths to be able to continue. So, yes, it was fantastic with the twists & turns, the characters & especially the story. Needless to say, I loved every word.

Waiting for book 7 to release will be difficult for everyone who's falling in love with the characters of Tempest.

The internal monologue is getting to my nerves, it is endless and repetitive. I counted 3 repetitions of the same thought within like 2 minutes of listening. Completely unnecessary unless you're just trying to fill pages to sell more books. Seriously? 7 books to tell one story? Lucky for the author there is nothing better out there that I haven't read yet. But this was a disappointment after reading the Bridge Kingdom series with its fast pace and non-stop content, no fluff like here.

I absolutely loved this book. Once I started reading it, it was impossible to put it down. Without giving away anything of the story, I loved how the characters are evolving and how "side" characters are also getting their chance to shine.

What can I say about book 5, A Tempest of Monsters has some fabulous monsters that Ellery must bring into the fold. This is the next dramatic instalment of drama and intrigue in Tempest. Brenda leaves you wanting more and scrambling to see when the next book comes out, because you can’t hardly contain your excitement and anticipation. I for one am counting down the days!

The suspense of how Ellery will prevail and get to Ryker will have you on edge. Ryker and his hate for his father, will it be the end or just a beginning of a nightmare? Will the long needed trust come back to Nottingham? This book is a must read, that is the only way to find the answers. Each twist and the suspense of the unknown makes you want yo read faster to get to the answers.
