For decades, the people of Marieux have clung to whispered tales of a savior destined to free their world from the controlling regime. After the chaos of the Blessed Battle, word of the Anointed Daughter spreads like wildfire, reigniting faith in a long-awaited prophecy. Rebellions stir in the shadows, but the longer she stays hidden, the more their fragile hope risks fading into despair.
Seventeen-year-old Olivia Kalaath has come to terms with her destiny but struggles to balance her duty to the planet with her need to protect her mother, Diana. With danger at every turn, Olivia and her companions must regroup and prepare for the battles ahead, all while keeping the relentless Razi Las at bay.
Seeking refuge in a remote village, the group trains in secrecy, bracing for the inevitable clash. But as Razi tightens his grip and betrayal looms, Olivia and her team are thrust into a desperate journey, following a mysterious lead that could either secure their survival and victory—or doom them to failure. As the world teeters on the edge of war, Olivia knows time is running out to defeat Las and dismantle the oppressive SRA once and for all.
Wow! The second installment in this series did not disappoint. The detail, the intricate relationships between the characters, the journey to faraway lands. I couldn’t stop reading, and I’m looking forward to diving into book 3!
