Kennedy is the young, intelligent daughter of Alpha Warren and Luna Yara. As the oldest daughter and twin sister to the future Alpha of their pack, she is much admired by their pack and others. Unlike her sisters, from a young age Kennedy took after her mother, spending most of her life in the pack hospital, sitting in on medical classes and watching surgeries. Now, she is turning eighteen and she hopes to find her mate. For Kennedy, there is only one man for her, the dark and broody Quirin.
Alpha Quirin took over his father’s pack at eighteen. After lying vacant for ten years, it took a significant amount of time to get it back into a functional pack. Once he did, the rogues began to approach him. Over time, he’s created a strong, powerful pack of fighters who value strength, above all else. While pack wars are rare, it isn’t uncommon for other packs to attack, wanting the wealth of Quirin’s pack.
Quirin has always been drawn to Kennedy. He knows he isn’t the right man for her, but when his wolf recognizes her as his mate on her eighteenth birthday, he’s unable to reject her as he knows he should. Having expected to live his life alone, he knows nothing of being a good mate. The darkness inside of him, the hatred for Kennedy’s father who murdered his, wars with his desire to let Kennedy fill him with her bright, cheerful light.
Can Quirin let go of the past? Can Kennedy heal the darkness inside of Quirin and teach his pack that physical strength isn’t the only strength that matters? Or will Quirin’s darkness overpower her light, extinguishing it forever?
Author Cooper has an incredible ability to create characters and stories that allow you to really connect and get invested. This book is just great, you die to know how it will develop, you can revel in the falling of the villains, and of course you can have a happy ending that makes everything worth it! I loved this book and its predecessor. Make yourself a favor and dive into this saga; the ride is just starting and there is way more to go 😁
Man… another book I loved by this author 😍 I might even love this one more than the first (shhh… don’t tell 🤫).
I’m such a sucker for a tortured, grumpy MMC who’s only soft and sweet for his mate, and Quirin absolutely delivers 🖤🔥. Pair that with a strong FMC, and you’ve got me hooked. Kennedy is a true Alpha in every sense. She's confident, capable, and powerful, even when everyone around her underestimates her 💪✨. I was as proud of her as Quirin was. ❤️
I really appreciated that while Kennedy follows in Yara’s footsteps as a doctor, this story stands on its own. The plot felt fresh, but still connected to the first book. The conflicts were unique, and the characters faced their own challenges. I was never bored for even a second; I was fully engaged and rooting for them and their pack, the entire time 📖💞. I loved the side characters in this story, too!
One of my favorite aspects was the emphasis on open and effective communication in relationships. Seeing both characters grow individually and together was so satisfying and beautifully done ❤️.
I’m extremely happy with the ending and ready to read book three! 😍📚
I enjoyed the first book so straight after reading it, and I purchased this one. It's not a bad read, but the storyline is so close to the first one that i don't want to read the third. I did like it, but I don't want to read the same storyline a third time.
I found this one very enjoyable. I like the continual family dynamics and the characters continual on goings. There was just enough difference in the storyline to keep me interested. I would recommend it to those who enjoy the wolf tells.
Very moving story involving family and pack. Lots of drama unfolds for this group, making for a very exciting read. Lots of challenging story lines and extra character development
